Reviews for Hôtel Le Bristol
Review 1:Pieces of paper indicating room numbers stuck on the door ...cheap & poor on the door but rooms was better than that..Operators are not doing this old property justice as room v ok!
Review 2:Quiet old style room in Centre of town..
Review 3:No air conditioning. No fan. Boiling hot room.
Review 4:Hotel Bristol was cheap and cheerful in central Reims, close to Reims Cathedral. The one way system made it difficult to find with a car.
Review 5:Very noisy in the front rooms with the windows open. Very hot with no air con or fan. Definitely request a room at the back of the hour if you want a good night's sleep.
Review 6:Great location in the centre of Reims
Review 7:We had an attic room number 502 overlooking the main street. It was very hot and without air conditioning. Needed windows open for fresh air but the noise from the Irish pub opposite was incredibly loud until 3.20am, shortly after that the street cleaning started. It was a nightmare!!
Review 8:We had an enjoyable evening meal.
Review 9:room was booked via you @ 78.18 euros. (=£54.40 gbp) i was actually charged 86.00 euro (= 69.73 gbp) a difference of £15.33. A complaint will be made.
Review 10:friendly ..english speaking staff..
Review 11:Décor very bad, bathroom old and toilet damaged, mould everywhere. noise from restaurants and bars stopped me sleeping, only managed 1 hours sleep. When I complained at 3am to reception they told me it would stop soon !. Asked for a refund but nothing forthcoming.
Review 12:Room was hot and the noise of the air conditioner compressor could be heard during the night.
Review 13:Being new to Reims we found the staff most helpful and even assisted with booking a tour of a champagne house. The hotel is just 5 mins walk from the train station and centrally located to a plethora od restaurants, eateries, shops and tourist sites. One of the few hotels with a decent sized elevator!
Review 14:Our room, at the front, of the hotel was a little noisy with the people using the many restaurants in the street outside until quite late.
Review 15:The hotel was a convenient location for seeing Reims and its social life. The room was a good size, clean and fairly well equipped.
Review 16:I am not sure which century the Hotel Bristol's 3 star rating applied to... certainly not to the 21st or the latter half of the 20th. Position is excellent in the centre of Reims but the facilities are crude.Cracked toilet cistern.Warped bathroom shelf, dirty floor, horrid colour, worn out towels. We have stayed there before and only went back because we had an excellent meal in the adjoining brasserie but the quality of that has crashed... lousy sloppy fajitas served by a surly waiter who reaked off BO.Single redeeming feature was a half decent bottle of champagne for €30.
Review 17:Room provided only had shower, this had a shower curtain (hate them...) and a dangerous step down from the shower tray to the floor. If you were elderly or infirm, you almost certainly could not have handled it.
Review 18:Great location for the centre of the city and only a short walk from the Place d'erlon underground car park. Brasserie attached to the hotel appeared to be the most popular eatery in the area for all afternoons and evenings of our long weekend and having sample the food can understand why. Bathroom was quite tired and basic, rooms towards the front of the hotel look to have been recently and nicely renovated.
Review 19:Please can you sort out the egg boiler in the breakfast area. There is never enough water in it and the eggs are not submerged, so take about 15mins to cook!
Review 20:Always a friendly welcome and perfect location.
Review 21:Finding location with car is difficult- no mention that you need to park underground to access hote.
Review 22:The central downtown location offers walking distance to many venues including Cathedral, shops, cafes, and restaurants- accompanying restaurant has excellent food
Review 23:Our room was on the first floor (107), not on the street side but facing a wall and therefore it was too dark, no direct daylight. It was hard to get fresh air into the room. An air conditioner, put outside, very close to the window, was making noise during the night.
Review 24:The location of the hotel is very good - close to the majority of tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. The front desk people and other hotel employees were friendly and helpful. Wifi worked fine. We did not take breakfast at the hotel but in the area there are great cafes where one can have a decent breakfast.
Review 25:Lively and noisy street. Bad internet connection.
Review 26:Perfect location if you want to be on the street with lots of restaurants. Comfortable beds. Helpful staff who helped us make booking for tour of champagne house with a discount.
Review 27:Unfortunately. Our room was on the street-side. We were unable to sleep the entire night, as the noise from the street cafés was ridiculously loud! This continued from sunset to sunrise! It would have been nice to have been offered a choice of a room off the street because of this "noise situation". Also, notification of where to park when we booked the room would have made things easier.
Review 28:We did like the location in terms of its proximity to attractions, restaurants and shops. Front desk person was very courteous and had an enjoyable, fun-loving personality. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fabulous!
Review 29:Rooms are cramped. Very thin walls made it a noisy stay. Took an age to get hot water. The air- con didn't work. If we had stayed more than one night, I think we may have checked out and moved. The on site parking quoted, turned out to be an underground public car park close to the hotel. Not what I expected.
Review 30:The location is very good, no need to use the car. This hotel is only average unfortunately.
Review 31:The hotel is NOT quiet, being located in the middle of the "Open-air" restaurant area of Rhiems -at night loud due to the young people drinking on the street and early in the moming one is wakened at 7.30 by the refrigerated delivery truck bring frozen food to the restaurants -one stayed 2 1/2 hrs in front of our bedroom window. The hotel did however give us a efund on the brekfat price due to the disturbance 1ftw sDie Lage war geei
Review 32:The location is very sutable for visiting the tourist attractions in Rheims by foot. The breakfast buffet is above the usual "French" breakfast and is good value for money - bearing in mind prices in France today!
Review 33:- poor condition of the room and bathroom (toilet flush) - sound isolation window giving to the street side
Review 34:- a very proactive and attentive approach of the hotel staff - excellent work of the housekeeping - good beds
Review 35:Room 201 is a little 'tired'. The hotel is progressively being modernised and the refurbished rooms are very good indeed.
Review 36:Location; comfortable rooms; friendly and courteous staff; excellent buffet breakfast.
Review 37:The air con didn't work and out room balcony opened onto the Main Street making it very loud in the evenings
Review 38:Ideal location for shopping and visiting the champagne houses
Review 39:One warning, the rooms can be warm and the street outside is a hub of activity. So great if you don't mind noise.
Review 40:Lively hotel in a lively city. Rooms were clean, well kept and had loud but functioning air conditioning. Parking a comparative bargain at 8.50. Third time we have stayed now. There is a sound and light show during the Summer evenings at the cathedral and facilities are close to the hotel. The food is good.
Review 41:The heat! It was far too hot, the room could do with a fan.
Review 42:right in the middle of the town, Reims is lovely. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel, it was excellent. Breakfast you did have to pay for but very good.
Review 43:The hotel seemed run-down, shabby and less well cared for than on our previous visit, 3 years ago. The excellent restaurant had been turned into a fast-food bar - burgers and pizzas - not our taste. We ate elsewhere in the town.
Review 44:Situation on the main pedestrian precinct, close to the cathedral and main tourist attractions is exceptionally good. (France winning a match in the world cup and the following celebrations throughout the town - not connected with the hotel!!)
Review 45:Very warm with no air conditioning or fan, and as we overlooked the main street we couldn't keep the windows open as it would have been too noisy. Breakfast seemed overpriced for what was included.
Review 46:Clean, centrally located, spacious enough, convenient parking nearby (at reduced overnight cost).
Review 47:The doors do not have a quiet close so I could hear other people's doors slamming shut upon entry or departure. Staff explained that the contractor said that the type of doors they put in cannot have quiet closes. Unfortunately, despite the quiet from the outside, I was often awaken by the door slams (it is all over the hotel). The bed was a bit too soft for me and a little worn (middle was higher and stiffer than the sides). Comparative to other hotels in France, however, given the price and location, it was a good choice.
Review 48:The staff were very kind and warm. Every morning and evening guests were greeted with smiles and welcomes (with your name). Upon arrival, my room was set aside as I had specifically asked for a quiet room with AC. Although it faced the wall (no view at all), it was indeed quiet and thankfully cool (stayed during a hot week). The extra pillows in the closet were a great asset.
Review 49:city centre ,close to baars and restaurants,a little noisy ,but if you want peace and quiet then don't book a city centre hotel.....nice large walk in shower cubicle
Review 50:Can be noisy at night and rooms are fairly basic
Review 51:Great location on the main thoroughfare in central Reims with lots of restaurants and bars - stayed here many times over the years
Review 52:A bit noisy in the evening owing to its location. Limited facilities but fine for an overnight stay
Review 53:In the heart of the Old City, very close to Cathedral. Situated in one of the main squares, traffic free. Lots of restaurants in the square. Good buffet breakfast available.
Review 54:Room at the front: noise during the whole night. First students till 2 am, than garbage trucks, then street cleaners. Didn't sleep at all.
Review 55:Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Review 56:Breakfast was a little expensive for what you got at €12 per person
Review 57:Convenient location. Quiet comfortable room. free WiFi
Review 58:Excellente situation, calme.
Review 59:breakfast extremely poor quality.
Review 60:Room was fine.
Review 61:Very nice hotel on the main street, close to train station, nice staff,
Review 62:Very poor wifi; breakfast overpriced; toilet plumbing inefficient; bath/shower arrangement is potentially very dangerous!
Review 63:Location
Review 64:Not bad experience but parking might be a challenge.
Review 65:Single beds very small
Review 66:Friendly staff, right in centre
Review 67:Location near train and center of city
Review 68:No a/c in the room. Very noisy, from the street, as we had to have the window open. Expensive.
Review 69:The location. The concierge was very helpful.
Review 70:noise in the early hours but you have to expect this with such a great location
Review 71:Great location right on the Main Street
Review 72:Very noisy rooms overlooking the precinct
Review 73:Location great
Review 74:location and staff positive
Review 75:The noise from the street.
Review 76:Central location means it could be a little noisy but wasn't a problem for us
Review 77:Friendly helpful staff
Review 78:The young guy on the front desk was so helpful!!
Review 79:Rooms at front noisy
Review 80:Location was easy walking distance to sights we were there see on one night stop over.
Review 81:Central location, quiet room, excellent breakfast, great value
Review 82:Awful pillows, very small bathroom, water from the shower went all over the floor. Wifi did not work despite staff assistance.
Review 83:Location is good.
Review 84:The bathroom was very bad
Review 85:Lokalisation
Review 86:Poor wi fi connection!
Review 87:Location was perfect..rooms large clean and bright!
Review 88:Shower was a bit small.
Review 89:Location Price versus quality Friendly Staff Apprantely good restaurant, crowded every night.
Review 90:Great location, great stuff, great value for money, basic room what was exactly what we needed
Review 91:Friendly staff
Review 92:everything
Review 93:Room was a bit dated and stuffy. Cooking smells from restaurant downstairs.
Review 94:Proximity to tourist spots was a bonus. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 95:Very noisy in front bedroom and very hot. Could do with fans
Review 96:Location Friendliness of staff Lovely restaurant
Review 97:Nothing
Review 98:Everything. I was worried about noise but the metal shutters and heavy curtains took care of the noise.
Review 99:The room and pillows
Review 100:The location
Review 101:Horrendously expensive for one of the shabbiest room we have stayed in for a very long time.
Review 102:Friendly staff. Great location
Review 103:Great location for eating out and walking round the streets in the evening, and underground carpark exit is just opposite
Review 104:Our group had a whole floor and our room wasn't as good as the others
Review 105:Very friendly staff and good central location
Review 106:Noise from downstairs No aircon too hot
Review 107:Location Cleanliness Price Car Parking Discount
Review 108:Perfect location on the main pedestrian path. Close to all the action, bars, restaurants and sites.
Review 109:Small room, dated, and very hot. Toilet/bathroom badly in need of updating
Review 110:Location is excellent and price was good
Review 111:Staff a bit unfriendly and restaurant very expensive. The rooms are very tired and in need of decoration.
Review 112:Location was good.
Review 113:stayed there before liked it then and it's even better now.
Review 114:The staff was a little negligent
Review 115:The hotel is sitted in a very good position. You can reach fast to all turistic objectives. The room was clean and big.
Review 116:Our family have been regular visitors to Le Bristol over many years. Very disappointed with the way it has been modernised. The café and restaurant have lost their wonderful 'vieille epoque' style and are just like any other modern hotel/café. Staff polite but not particularly welcoming!
Review 117:location excellent - very near underground car park. Our standard double room was small but adequate and being on 5th floor at the back was very quiet.
Review 118:Hotel rooms are quirky and dated - street facing rooms are noisy until midnight
Review 119:Good basic, clean accommodation in the centre of town. Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. Parking is very easy.
Review 120:Our room faced the street. Very noisy on a Friday and Sat night. They have wooden windows that block the sound quite well, but if the weather is hot, it becomes impossible to keep them shut during the night.
Review 121:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, especialy if you want to enjoy the night life. Parking garage just opposite to hotel: brilliant! Lifts! Large sized triple bedroom (1doble bed+1single). Very clean. Coffee and tea in the room.
Review 122:Not much. Typical 2-3 star french hotel...if you like those...and we do...you will like the Bristol.
Review 123:Central location, nearby parking, lively district, good restaurant downstairs
Review 124:Sad that the old lift is no longer in use!
Review 125:Very friendly efficient check in. The location couldn't be better. Loving the refurbishment tea making facilities
Review 126:Was not that sound proofed as advertised The doors slam shut very loudly No hairdryer in the room as advertised TV channels: not a great choice
Review 127:Staff were great Location was great The modernised rooms was great
Review 128:Breakfast wasn't included in the rate we paid but there were plenty of patisseries nearby. The price wasn't bad for the location though.
Review 129:The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location was fantastic and right by the Christmas markets. The staff were very helpful and were able to answer any questions and provide us with wifi access via individual 24 hr wifi passwords, which seemed to be the norm in the area. The hotel was quiet and the facilities were adequate for our stay. There was a vast underground car park nearby too.
