Reviews for Appart'City Chalon-Sur-Saone

Review 1:Things were broken in this small flat. It was not possible to cook a meal because everything was missing I. G. A saucepan. No personel to talk to about all the troubles. Had to sign some sort of contract in French. No clue to what we signed.

Review 2:Booked this hotel to have wifi in room but it's ethernet cable only and won't fit a new Mac so I had two days without internet unless I wanted to work in reception/Parking is €6.50 per day(no mention of price on the site) but you can find it free on the streets around/Room is not soundproof/Terrible pillows/Cramped room, I couldn't imagine two people in the room, never mind trying to sit at the table/Stained carpets/Room dusty and dirty behind toilet and corners of the bathroom/I too could smell cigarettes in the hallway

Review 3:Finding a free parking space outside!

Review 4:Our second stay was a nightmare! The double bed was tiny my husband and I were very uncomfortable and my daughter who was with us had to put the mattress on the floor as the sofa bed was in the middle of the floor and broken! We were wakened very early with rubbish being collected and very noisy deliveries on the street below. The showers were broken in both rooms!

Review 5:Our first stay was ok with a quieter located room and large bed our second stay was different!

Review 6:Stained carpet. No AC Very noisy Wi Fi in eating area , Closed when we needed it.

Review 7:Rail, Resturants, bank and well lit parking lot close for two females.

Review 8:NOT an apartment - a small badly appointed hotel room with a couple of electric rings and a microwave but NO fridge. VERY basic - cheap but not so cheerful.

Review 9:Convenient to the station

Review 10:This is not a 3 star hotel ,2 at the most.I had to ask for new towels etc after 3 days.Wifi for a tablet non existing in the room or reception. The hallways etc badly in need of painting. One pot with the handle falling off. These may be petty criticisms but I would expect better in a 3 star establishment.

Review 11:Good location

Review 12:getting hold of the key using various codes and boxes that were not where you expected them to be

Review 13:This place is in an excellent location, bang next to the station. Rooms are clean and comfortable and I would not be able to fault it except for a slightly stressful moment on arrival. I had been emailed the code to get into the front door but had not received the SMS (text) message that I had been assured would be sent to me on the date of arrival in order to access the box containing my room key (this box is on the first floor, by the way!). On calling the emergency number, I was told that they didn't send these text messages to numbers outside France but I have been assured that this problem has now been rectified. I would definitely use this place again. I didn't have breakfast there as I preferred to go to a little place nearer the old town called La Boulangerie Parize, 23 place de Beaune, where the coffee and croissants are excellent and staff very friendly.

Review 14:Reception staff need training, tv system did not work and no attempt made to put right.you hardly have space to walk round the bed.

Review 15:Secure parking, central location, pet friendly

Review 16:No AC in the room the staff, really not nice and calling the room at 9.30am to make sure in a non polite way that we leave at 10 am

Review 17:localisation Size of the room

Review 18:location not easy to find without sat nav. no breakfast on a Sunday, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, had difficulty with front door after hours.

Review 19:good for a stopover, comfortable and clean room

Review 20:Very small bedroom No breakfast on a Sunday

Review 21:Easy to find in town centre Easy walk to restaurants Perfect stopover enroute to/from southern France

Review 22:The receptionist was very rude, we were given a double room, not the twin we booked and it was made clear by her attitude that this was an inconvenience for her to sort. We also overheard her practically telling other guests who had no water in their room to go away as she couldn't help them (it was the end of her shift) and she lied to them saying reception would be open the next day (which was a sunday, it wasn't) The wifi also didn't work and apparently when it does it only works in the reception area. We originally planned to arrive late (after reception closed) which they cater for - luckily we didn't because on arrival the advertised parking turned out to not be free and required paying reception to get access to, who knows what we would have done had we not turned up early, we picked this apartment as it advertised secure parking and we had a transporter with 4 bikes on the back! We stayed at park and suites on the way out, same price, much better accommodation (modern and clean) no fee for parking, wifi in every room etc etc...

Review 65:The kitchen

Review 66:Too small Room not clean Door lock broken

Review 67:Quite frankly, our room was not very clean. The basics had been done (clean bed linens/towels/vacuuming) but surfaces were dusty, the bathroom was grimy in places, and the carpets stained. We've stayed in other Appart'City before, which were very clean so this was a disappointment.

Review 68:It is close to the train station and a walkable distance to the pedestrian shopping zones. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is well-organized.

Review 69:The unit I had was dirty and I had to wash ALL kitchen items before use. Fortunately I had s/c equipment with me. Bathroom and bedding was fine. Not the sort of place to walk around without shoes on. We had stayed at another Appart'city in France same week, which was fantastic!

Review 70:Very helpful staff.

Review 71:Nothing that springs to mind

Review 72:Exactly what we wanted as an overnight stay. Close to old town, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nothing to criticise

Review 73:WiFi not accessible in room, and very complicated to access from reception. Someone had smoked in our non-smoking room. A discount was offered and accepted.

Review 74:Excellent location and safe parking.

Review 75:Arriving when Reception closed is poor. Keys in safe. Email advising code number for safe not received. Needded 10 min telephone call to resolve. When able to collect envelope from safe with key, no room number on the documents. Another 10 min telephone call to resolve.

Review 80:Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, pleasant helpful staff, excellent garage, good value.

Review 81:no aircon - very very hot! No response from out of hours number despite several attempts when key wouldn't work.

Review 82:excellent value for money. Very clean and well maintained if a bit cramped for space in bedroom area. Kitchenette icluding fridge a bonus.

Review 83:There reception is closed on a sunday. Usually they would leaveeberything you need to check in, in a secure safe and let you know thecode. This is what happened for us, however we were not told the code.We waited for 3 hrs and were unable to get hold of anyone on the phone.Just as we were about to leave a girl came in as there was a latebooking. This was annoying as we were tired and hungry.

Review 84:This was a two day stop over for us. It was clean, comfy and it wasgreat having a kitchenette.

Review 85:Room was well designed, clean and warm. In fact a little too warm! Nice bar/ resturant around the corner. Good secure underground parking at a small extra fee. No bath just a good shower. Excellent for a stop over, quite tricky to find. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
