Reviews for Hotel Napoléon
Review 1:Very comfortable and nicely designed room. Convenient location on the quiet side of town but still within walking distance to restaurants. Lovely sunny terrace with a view of the sea. And the housekeeping was excellent. The breakfast could have been better. Lovely fresh bread was provided but it would have been nice to also have freshly baked croissants and perhaps a good hot option such as eggs benedict. The rest of the service was so good that it would have been nice if the breakfast had matched the rest.
Review 2:With the hotel being run to such a high speck i found the garden has seen better days it was dark and uninviting.
Review 3:Our stay was excellant from the time we arrived to the day we left. Every member of staff were very smart, warm, and exceptionally friendly.Hotel and rooms were immaculately clean. To review a very well run hotel.
Review 4:The noice of the very loud motorbikes that would me illegal min Australia with fines of hundreds of euros
Review 5:Sitting on the ballon i and having a drink and seeing the nice water view
Review 6:If you are bring a child under 10 it clearly states on booking.com and their own website that they are free in an extra bed, however they try to add 20 euro's per night for this at reception, when queried they remove but it's a bit of a trick! Pay for a sea view you get a balcony rooms very small otherwise.
Review 7:Location close to train stations so you can travel without car, nice walk into town and beach clubs across the road
Review 8:Not many sun beds ,understandably it is only a small hotel......The early bird catches the worm.
Review 9:Warm ,friendly and helpful staff.love this hotel. Would definitely return.
Review 10:Not enough choice at breakfast. More hot food and fresh fruit could have been displayed.
Review 11:Good position in Menton, not as busy! Lovely pool and bar area. Staff couldn't have been poor attentive and friendly. Exceptionally clean and modern. Will definitely return.
Review 12:The hotel is well placed, just across the road from the sea and within 10 minutes walking distance from the town. The staff are friendly and very helpful; they even phoned Rome for us and sorted out a booking problem we had, speaking fluent Italian. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and plenty of free parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.
Review 13:Not really a bad experience but disappointed that because of the chilly wind we couldn't enjoy sitting on our balcony (room 305) as our friends in room 408 could.
Review 14:The relaxed atmosphere, the most beautiful interior and comfortable rooms, the long breakfasts with homemade croissants and excellent coffee. In the evening the bar is the perfect retreat for a pre-dinner drink
Review 15:The bar food was not always available as advertised, in the evening.
Review 16:From the moment of our arrival we were made extremely welcome. The hotel was very well appointed and comfortable. We would like to return and will recommend it to friends.
Review 17:We found the bed too hard to sleep on.
Review 18:Hotel great location views are wonderful , close walk to old town & other direction to port. Very clean rooms & hotel staff very efficient & friendly & helpful.
Review 19:perhaps the room was a little cold but we could easily have asked how to fix it- too lazy!
Review 20:the location was excellent -in the best and quietest part pf town but on the seafront, 10 minutes walk from the centre.
Review 21:One tiny thing, the design of bedroom door and cupboard doors not good as they could not be use at any one time as would block/knock each other.
Review 22:Perfect location, very friendly and professional staff, cleanliness .WE WILL BE RETURNING
Review 23:Room service and other Food facilities stop at 9pm...
Review 24:Location, Staff, Design of rooms with the Cocteau theme... Balcony and view to the sea made the whole difference

Review 43:Location, cleanliness
Review 44:Style, comfort and great staff
Review 45:A spaceous room with free refresments, big bathroom. Free parking on streets.
Review 46:Excellent staff. Fantastic location across the street from the beach, overlooking the Mediterrean.
Review 47:Comfortable Bed
Review 48:EVERYTHING !! Conveniently situated for trains to Italy and Nice and to the town centre of Menton and so nice to come back to at the end of the day.
Review 49:Needs better sound insulation between rooms
Review 50:Stylish & modern room Great staff Good location Good value for money
Review 51:Breakfast is too expensive
Review 52:Everything
Review 53:Room perfectly fine but a bit small and basic.
Review 54:Staff were lovely, garden is very pretty and the art is fantastic.
Review 55:The wi fi did not always work .
Review 56:The location and pool were very good.
Review 57:wifi very overpriced
Review 58:Views
Review 59:location is good. The breakfast was good also, but my husband preferes to have for breakfast some hot dishes.
Review 60:The staff were exceptionally helpful
Review 61:The hotel shares a private beach across the road, which is great but there was no mention of a charge of e8 each from the reception. Small point so don't let it put you off,The Napoleon is well worth staying in.
Review 62:This Hotel was a lovely find; the room was excellent, well thought out and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a small pool but it’s well designed with boarding around the edge, not to many sunbeds but enough for the size of the pool, besides the beach is just across the road and the hotel will provide you with a towel. The hotel is close to Menton Garavan station with trains along the coast to Italy, Monaco or Nice airport. I can't praise this hotel enough down to the free mini fridge(soft drinks) to the bar were the night porter will serve you a drink if you get in late. Another nice touch was the glass of iced lemonade when you check in. I cannot wait to return to this hotel it was excellent.
Review 63:We missed some drawers for clothes, there were only hangers, nothing else.
Review 64:A very good hotel situated on the BEST side of Menton, which means with view to the famous facades of the old town instead of watching it from the back. Only 5 minutes to walk to the old town and several good restaurants at the foot of the hill there. Nicely renovated room , modern bathroom, spacous balcony with the most beautiful view to the sea and the old town. Excellent breakfast buffet with very good bread, cheeses, figue jam, fresh fruit juices etc.
Review 65:Although the room was nice & cosy, it is only suitable for 2-3 nights as the wardrobe was only approx 2 x 1.5 ft with around 8 hangars with only a few slim shelves for small items. Whilst we were there the restaurant facilities were closed - unacceptable for a 4-star hotel (the main hotel restaurant seemed to be over the road and 200 yards along the promenade). However, the bar area is pleasant and served snacks - we only ate there once and the service was incredibly slow (30mins for an over-priced Croque Monsieur) and the quality of the food was poor (C.M. Napolean was an over-cooked ham & cheese toastie with a handful of plain green salad - however there did seem to be some issue in the kitchens that evening, demonstrated by the smoke alarm going off for 5-10 mins). Staff seemed disorganised throughout the incident and no discount was offered.
Review 66:Friendly staff on arrival. Our room was at the rear, which had a nice, interesting view of the mountains. Room was comfy, cosy and stylishly furnished with the in-room tea & coffee making facilities very welcome. The 15-20 mins walk along the promenade to the old town is pleasant.
Review 67:Superb views, both of the bay and Menton old town. Free soft drinks in the mini fridge, replenished daily. Facilities to make tea and coffee in your room. Big comfy bed. Friendly , informative staff.
Review 68:The hotel is overpriced. Location: 20-25 min walk to the town center in _any_ weather. Around the hotel - is only a beach. Room for 2 was too small: a king-size bed took 2/3 of the room. Not all announced TV channels worked.
Review 69:Staff is very helpful
Review 70:Perhaps our mistake, but we thought breakfast was included and were surprised to find a 28 Euro charge added to our bill.
Review 71:The clean, modern room was well appointed with excellent attention to details and comfort.
Review 72:Mattress was a little hard for us but that's just a personal preference I know - would not stop us going back!
Review 73:Fantastic hotel right on the seafront set in the old part of Menton with stunning views in both directions. Just a short walk to some great places to eat. Don't look elsewhere you won't be disappointed. Free mini bar with soft drinks and tea/coffee making facilities were a nice extra touch.
Review 74:The half hour allocation of Wi- Fi made it difficult to access emails at different times of day
Review 75:The staff were very helpful and efficient with most agreeable manner
Review 76:there was a road between the hotel and the sea that was not visible on the pictures of the hotel, but it was not too noisy
Review 77:very kind staff and comfortable hotel
Review 78:Relation between the prices of the rooms with sea view and mountain view is not apprioriate. The rooms with mountain view are too small and without terrace so they should be much more cheaper.
Review 79:Nice location. Clean
Review 80:watch out, water can be very hot in bathrooms
Review 81:The rooms (sea view) are very nice, a little small but certainly ok enough. The situation Some of the staff Reasonable price
Review 82:We spent a week on French Riviera and we enjoyed a lot. The hotel is well placed, the beach is very near. Also, easy to reach Menton center. Hotel parking is very useful (we recommend to make a reservation). Breakfast is good, nice and clean rooms. The pool is small but cozy. If you want to visit Cote d'Azur, we recommend this hotel.
Review 83:Can't think of anything negative about the hotel.
Review 84:After a long drive to the hotel we were greeted with glasses of a refreshing squeezed lemon drink which made us feel very welcome.
Review 85:We were a family of four room was small but didn't mind at the beach and town the whole time.
Review 86:Great location staff was very nice and the private beach front they recommended le festival plage was perfect. I felt at home.
Review 87:Breakfast good, but pigeons walk on the tables and utensils on theoutside tables and leave their marks;Beach is not longer owned by hotel, they have arrangement with another beach where they nickel and dime you about everything (we arrived at 5:30pm and were charged for the whole afternoon ... oh we got a 1 Euro discount from 11 Euro ... oh ... we were told we did not have to use that beach
Review 88:Overall ok but not great for the cost.
Review 89:limited parking, so reserve ahead of time, a bit noisy at times due to traffic on the boulevard, but that is the flipside of the great location and fabulous view of the bay
Review 90:great staff, outstanding location on the bay and boulevard, the view!!!!!!
Review 91:We needed information about how to get to the Nice airport via bus and train and most of the people working at the reception gave us erroneous information.
Review 92:The room was very comfortable. The breakfast is very good. The association with the club Napoleon across the road, for restaurant and beach privileges, is excellent.
Review 93:Traffic noise (not much the hotel can do about that) no restaurant
Review 94:Friendly staff Clean modern rooms tea making facilities, good selection tv channels, good balcony, small fridge, comfortable bed
Review 95:Very friendly staff. Very comfortable room. Excellent out-look from sea-view rooms. Good breakfasts and good availability of small evening meals (snacks). Parking facility.
Review 96:The room was not sound proof (maybe because of the double door to the next room). No drawers, and only very little closet space.
Review 97:The view towards the sea. The very friendly service staff. Size of the room and the balcony.
Review 98:Breakfast a bit expensive at 12 euros - many local cafes offer a far cheaper option.
Review 99:Great location on the seafront, yet only a 10 minute walk to the old town of Menton. For those travelling to Menton via train, note that Mentn Garavan station (as opposed to Menton) is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Review 100:There was a problem with air-condition and the room was a bit cold.
Review 101:We had an ocean view room and we really enjoyed the view. Helpful staffs. When we arrived they serves us with cold lemonade, which was great after a long trip.
Review 102:The service is perfect. The room was perfectly clean and big and the decoration is design. The bathroom is well equiped. I appreciated a lot the balconey with seaview
Review 103:No sound proof, can hear the noise from next room.
Review 104:Nice and modern hotel, new and clean.Warm welcome at the reception. Will come back again if we visit Menton.
Review 105:Our first room 507 is very poorly planned. e.g. the bottom of the beds are too close to the wardrobe doors and the wardrobe has insufficient width and depth to accomodate clothing properly. Our subsequent room 406 was ideal.
Review 106:Friendly atmosphere and comfortable lounge area. Free parking and free room minibar (an unusual but very thoughtful idea)
Review 107:We would have preferred the sea view, unfortunately they didnt have any available, instead we were in the mountain view, we were facing the school buildings.
Review 108:The hotel was in a good location in a quiet neibourhood.
Review 109:Off street parking was difficult to access since the buzzer that was to be utilized was not working. We parked on the street. I thought the continental breakfast was free, but instead there was a charge. But perhaps I may have remembered another location.
Review 110:Check in and check out was quick and friendly. The room was very clean and the balcony view was lovely.
Review 111:We liked the hotel, staff, cleanliness etc. It was a wary nice experience we will return to the hotel when we have a new opportunity The breakfast was excellent
Review 112:I would have preferred there to have been a blind on the bathroomwindow.
Review 113:Relaxed, comfortable, good services but not too big a hotel. I loved theinternet terminal next to reception where you can print (free!) E.G.boarding cards, google map directions etc.
Review 114:The parking facilities are limited and space if not booked in advance may be insufficient.
Review 115:Excellent location, very nice room, beautiful front sea view and large terrace facing the sea and the old town of Menton. We were nicely welcome upon our arrival at the hotel. Good breakfast in a small yard on the backside of the hotel.
Review 116:Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Good variety of food for breakfast. Being able to have a snack at any time a bonus. All the staff friendly and very helpful. Excellent hotel.
Review 117:The pool was not cleaned daily and had a lot of leaves and dirt in it.Also, there was a charge to use the napolean beach club - this is notmade clear beforehand.
Review 118:Location of hotel was good and bedrooms were nice. Staff were veryfriendly and most helpful.
Review 119:the little extras from the hotel for our honeymoon. lovely clean hotel with good aircon. supermarket opposite where we went to get fresh bread and meats to have on our balcony.
Review 120:I don't think the room rate is high, but it is also not so low. Maybe the average price in Menton.
Review 121:We stayed in the room with ocean view, and the view of the sea and the old city are beautiful. In the beach in front of the hotel, there are many sea-side restaurants.
Review 122:There was no bath tab in my room. The distance to the old city centre was a bit far for me.
Review 123:The view from the hotel was wonderful. The quality is also good.
Review 124:It is relatively expensive especially for the rooms at the first floorwhere the sea view is quite limited, We paid the hifghest price for theroom at the first foor
Review 125:Clean, good service, good idea with Exopress Breakfest - should berecommended to be applied in other hotels as well
Review 126:Breakfast is expensive at 12 euros for a buffet.
Review 127:Nice quiet area, not too far too walk to Menton old town. Close toMenton Garavan Train Station. Close to beach. Very friendly and helpfulstaff. Very clean and tidy Hotel. Good location, we had mountain viewroom, very quiet.
