Reviews for La Maison du Bourg
Review 1:We (2 couples in our 40's)spent a wonderful 3 nights with our delightful hosts Ghislaine and Patrick. They provided great information on where to eat, wineries to visit and provided a wonderful itinerary for a day trip to the city of Bordeaux. Guests are provided a small summer kitchen by the pool, (refrigerator, plates, cutlery and anything you might need - but no cooking facilities) so dinners could be enjoyed al fresco by the pool after a day of wine tasting and local restaurants for lunch. Breakfast provided daily consisted of fresh local bread, tea, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, yogurt and a daily treat of one Patricks baked goods (brioche, madeleines and other goodies). The property is located in a small village about 10 minutes from the town of St Emilion. Clean spacious rooms, both with showers. Ghislaine speaks very good english. A perfect stay in the St Emilion region.
Review 2:The house was so close to the church and the clock chimed all through the night. This resulted in lack of sleep. If you stay here I would recommend ear plugs. I would stay again, but not without having ear plugs!
Review 3:The host and hostess were very helpful. The house was nice and central. Bedroom was comfortable and free wifi. Breakfast was good - continental.
Review 4:The church bell rang on the hour and half hour so could bother some peoples sleep.
Review 5:The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The shower/bath was all anyone would need. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Review 6:Everything is amazing! The owners are attentive and pleasant, the house is beatiful and decorated with great taste, the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The breakfast is faboulus, with homemade jam and madeleins! Thanks for everything, we will come again! Adele e Ottavio from Italy
Review 7:Loved the friendliness of the owners, the quiet location in town, and the relaxing garden in the rear. Delicious homemade madelines and jam for breakfast. An incredible value for the money.
Review 8:No immediate restaurants bars in village itself but very close to historic and scenic St Emilion and within half an hour of Bordeaux.
Review 9:Warm welcome Very tasteful and comfortable accommodation Beautifully served breakfast with top quality breads and croissants with home made jams and other home made pastries etc.

Review 16:Ghislaine and Patrick, the owners of this delightful B&B were perfect hosts in every way. The room was small but perfectly formed, clean and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was tasty with home made cakes, jams and fresh pressed orange juice. We loved it.
Review 17:The hosts were extremely helpful. Our son was feeling sick while we were there and they did everything possible to assist him. The house is lovely and we enjoyed our stay.
Review 18:We usually like to leave our car and walk where ever we are but had to drive (not far) to visit St Emillion.
Review 19:Loved the hosts, Madame spoke English and both were Friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast was yogurt, breads, juice, tea/coffee. Added bonus: Patrick's cherry tart and home made fig confiture. Budget friendly,
Review 20:Only downside was you definitely need a car as not much in surrounding village. Also the room faced a church and the bells would ring early in the morning.
Review 21:2 owners could not have been any nicer or more accommodating. She had very good English husband made homemade jam and fruit pie for breakfast. Room was very clean with coffee making facilities and was very happy with it. Wife booked us a dinner in local restaurant with free wine!! Rear garden is very pretty and great to relax in beside the pool. Recommend if travelling the area with a car.
