Reviews for Hotel Alsace Lorraine
Review 1:Unprepossessing exterior; ancient creaky bed (as was the one in the room next door); 3rd floor up narrow staircase. OK for 1 night though.
Review 2:Clean room; convenient location near station but quiet back street so no traffic noise
Review 3:The double bed is slightly bigger than my single bed at home. The toilet flushes with hot water, someting you don't want with a room temperature of 27c. No closet.
Review 4:We did not know that it was not possible to check in on a sunday afternoon. Booking.com has solved this by calling us and arranged an entry code to the hotel. Quiet street, citty centre on walking distance.
Review 5:Excellent breakfast and comfortable room. The hotel was in a fairly run down area but was clean and presentable inside. Convenient location for city and other sights
Review 6:no lift
Review 7:Staff were very welcoming, excellent value for money, close to town. room confortable with a generous size bathroom. This rated better than a 2 star
Review 8:Staff not particularly helpful. Not even offered breakfast. General shabbiness to room with stained carpets. All needs updating
Review 9:Good location near river and restaurants. Clean room comfortable bed.
Review 10:Breakfast was poor, and not included in the price (7.5 euro pp). Room is just basic. It's OK if the breakfast is included, but otherwise too expensive! All other hotels were occupied, so we had no choice. We had to ask hairdryer which should have been normally in the room.
Review 11:Location is good. Very close to the cathedral and city center.
Review 12:Booked a triple room but had to pay an €10 per night for a mattress bed because we wanted three single beds
Review 13:Good location, fair size room for three single people. Breakfast had ample selection. Small courtyard
Review 14:La proposition de porter nos bagages-
Review 15:Lovely rooms in this small and friendly hotel. Staff most helpful
Review 16:Not very modern , but if you get a room in the yard , it is well worth the money. There are also rooms with lots of stairs.
Review 17:Shabby street, but once inside fine
Review 18:Free street parking
Review 19:Very nice lady who did everything from reception to cleaning to breakfast.
Review 20:no proper shower in room 12
Review 21:Doors slamming when guests return from Illumination at cathedral, which is held at 10.30 in summer.

Review 25:a keyboard in the hallway where you were invited to leave your key while you were out.
Review 26:Excellent breakfast.
Review 27:The toilet was very noisy.
Review 28:noise from other quests in their room. Rooms need a makeover.
Review 29:location, easy walk to Cathedral Area & Restaurants
Review 30:Bad WiFi signal. A staff member walked into my room without knocking which I thought was rude.
Review 31:Clean, friendly staff.
Review 32:No lift, so if you have problems with stairs, ask for room on ground floor.
Review 33:Very pleasant small hotel close to centre of Amiens, yet very quiet - even with la Fete de Musique taking place... Room good, breakfast good
Review 34:French breakfast :]
Review 35:high stairs, but a great view from the upper floor. comfortable and simple equipped, but also there is everything you need. convenient location.
Review 36:The stairs would be a problem for older people or people with lots of luggage.
Review 37:The room was minimal but comfortable. The staff were friendly and the location was excellent.
Review 38:We have stayed here before and it's a lovely, small boutique hotel with mimimal rooms that are relaxing and comfortable. Close to the huge wetland area acros the river and two minutes' walk from the cathedral and tow centre. Love it!
Review 39:There was very much crying and shouting on the street the whole night till in the morning at six o,clock. Next time a did not want a room on the streetside.
Review 40:This place is old and dated, new locks on doors but didn't see it so struggled with old one first !! Carpet looked very black and stained in room. TV Fine but no English channel but 20+ French ones. Breakfast poor for 7-50 Euro, dry croissant and 2 pieces of crusty bread, few cereals and yoghurts but hey must remember this is a 2 star property.
Review 41:Under 10 min walk to station and just a little more to the very impressive cathedral. Bed very comfortable and slept very well. Young girl friendly on reception checking in but only spoke French...got by with my Evening Class knowledge !! :)
Review 42:Receptionist not helpful and disinterested especially at breakfast time. Got the impression even if she could speak a little English (as we managed with a little French) she was not going to make the effort.
Review 43:Spacious room & clean. Good location for exploring the town.
Review 44:Ok really, no lift, but not an issue No English channel on tv. Wenormally find bbc world news plus 1 or 2 more in French hotels nowadays.
Review 45:Easy parking, simple hotel, provided what we expected for the price. Not too far to walk to centre, cathedral and river side restaurants.Quite road.
Review 46:Simple but absolutely charming. Clean and fresh. Bang in the centre oftown. Friendly staff who went out of the way to be helpful. Wifi kickedin immediately without need of a password.
Review 47:Would not allow phone call to UK. Receptionists had no English. In case of fire not sure how I would have got out.
Review 48:Clean, most important. TV ok, no coffee/tea maker. Budget, wash basin, no en suite. Heating came on in evening and hot water, good. Good enough for short cheap stay. Question 5 difficult to answer, as stay short, superficial impression, not much there except fantastic cathedral.
Review 49:My grandson did not like the plant overhanging when using the toilet!!
Review 50:The room was spacious, beds comfortable, no noise . Relaxing atmosphere, good times for breakfast, and a good selection. Location and parking good.
Review 51:There is no hot water in the room and the staircase was so narrow..
Review 52:The location was very good and a large supermarket was near the hoteland 'Gare du Nord d'Amiens'
Review 53:I didn't see the staff at all on the first night and the nextmorning (they had e-mailed me the door code). I was the only one stayingthere on this night and they did not come to see me. Also they chargedmy credit card when I was out and I wanted to pay in cash which I hadbrougth with me.
Review 54:Nice and warm on a very cold day
Review 55:No door on the bathroom--just a sliding curtain- i've experienced thisin other hotels and it is common in old budget-type hotels, however ittakes a bit of getting used too! The room and bathroom were well decorated-quite simple-and the shower was nice and hot...however the bedroomarpoet needed replacing as it was well marked and the hotel was havingsome renovating done which was inconvenient.
Review 56:The staff were friendly and helpfull
Review 57:Check-in hours are a bit strange. If you arrive after 7 PM no one is there to welcome you, they just leave you the hotel entrance code and the key. Breakfast tends to be the same everyday and is not spectacular, but it was enough to start the day (croissant, coffee, cereal, cheese, butter, jam).
Review 58:Small and cozy hotel, in a great central location. Amiens Cathedral - which is the biggest in France - and train station are within 10 minutes walking. Room cleaned everyday. Staff was nice and friendly, though not always available. Great quality for price. My room was quiet and pleasant.
Review 59:The reception was closed and I had to sleep on the cold stone floor inreception. I'm still awaiting an explanation from the hotel owner. Ihave these issues with the local tourist board, who are looking into thecomplaint further.
Review 60:no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. should warn clients tthat the bathroom in the comfort room is only divided by a curtain not a door.
Review 61:the location was great for our purposes. central. very clean and tidy. Nice staff very pleasant. quiet
Review 62:The street where the hotel is situated is not very beautiful... but inside ok.
Review 63:Location is good, it's about 5 minutes on foot from the railway station and from the centre of the city. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Wi-fi worked well.
Review 64:The staff spoke almost no English. Some were very friendly, others kindof rude and impatient with us because of our bad French. The bathroom isseparated from the room with a curtain instead of a door which does notallow for much privacy
Review 65:The hotel is located centrally in the city but in a quiet street. Nicebut simple room.
Review 66:Slight damp smell on stairway. Also we were advised that we needed to contact the hotel for an access code as we would be arriving after midday on Sunday. Had to send quite a few emails to try to get this. Day before we arrived we managed to get it but we were told we probably would not need it. Process was a bit of a waste of our time.
Review 67:Rooms were comfortable. Nice soft carpet. Lovely ensuite.
Review 68:We stayed at the hotel for three nghts as it was the perfect locationfor us to explore the many World War I Cemetaries and battlefields inthe Somme Valley and Picardie more generally. We were very happy withthe standard of accommodation and the very friendly helpful staff.Amiens is a lovely city as well - the old part of town by thecathedral and along the river bank is fascinating with many excellentrestaurants and bars. The city also features some of the friendliestpeople in France!
Review 69:Tiny, steep and narrow staircase with tight bends. Very difficult to get up to rooms with big suitcases. OK with small bags though.

Review 74:Good position, good price.
Review 75:The parking in the streets outside the hotel was a bit limited at times and I had to park round the corner a couple of times. The lady who prepared the breakfast didn't speak alot of English,so communicating was a bit hard.I had a dog,we were put on the 2nd floor up a spiral staircase.
Review 76:I stayed for 2 nights, with my dog, very quiet hotel, walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants and public transport,it's cheap and ideal if you just want somewhere to put your head down.
Review 77:We were there for the Anzac Day dawn service in Villers Brettoneux. Thelocation was perfect to collect our shuttle bus early in the morning. The hotel was small but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendlyand nice. It wasn't a flash hotel by any means but we had everything weneeded and really enjoyed our stay and felt safe and cosy.
Review 78:Access to the internet was not possible from the bedroom and wasdifficult from the lobby. The outside access to the bedrooms was dark and had plant pots that were not easily visible because of the lack of lighting.

Review 95:Location close to city centre. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly receptionist.
Review 96:Not a problem for us but narrow stairs (2 -3 floors) and no lifts.
Review 97:Very French, local to town centre and excellent breakfast.
Review 98:Curly stairs, but there is not a lot they can do about that. Would not stop me going there again.
