Reviews for Hotel Boutique Casa de Orellana

Review 1:The check out time was unnecesarly early. (11:45) The breakfast time was so late (10a.m) so we had to leave the hotel almost inmediatly. Is the REAL B&B.

Review 2:The manager and owner were so helpful and the location was perfect. Breakfast delicious. The hotel is so beautiful and tastefully furnished and the garden a delight. The drive to the hotel is a real spanish experience, being guided by the owner on his moped. We could do Trujillo by foot, buying biscuits at the nearby convent and a walking to a lovely restaurant, run by a husband and wife, around the corner. With five bedrooms it would be a perfect hotel to use for a special occasion with family or friends.

Review 3:Beautiful boutique hotel, with wonderful owners always there to help. The Iberico ham served at breakfast was top quality as was everything else. The owner even helped park our car around the corner.

Review 4:No, it was just a great experience.

Review 5:The people could not be more helpful and the location was perfect, we could do Trujillo by foot and getting out of town was also quick.

Review 6:Driving in and out of the city is a little tricky as streets are very narrow in places, but we were met by the owner, who led us in on his scooter. The manager guided us in and out while we stayed.

Review 7:Authentic Trujillo home close to the castle, now a boutique hotel. Owner and manager both very welcoming and attentive to all our needs. Walk outside door into quaint streets and rural paths around the castle. Excellent restaurants very close by.

Review 8:Nothing at all..... And I do not say that very often....

Review 9:Very friendly, beautiful rooms and huge breakfast. Parking in street but owner parked car and felt very safe. Helped with luggage to our room.

Review 10:Given the high quality of the hotel, breakfast was a major disappointment. Apart from the freshly squeezed orange juice breakfast was of exceptionally poor quality. Some simple changes would make a huge difference - some fresh pastries from the local patisserie would be great, better quality bread, a better range of quality cheeses, fresh fruit, and proper coffee presented nicely. Also given the hotel caters for only 5 rooms surely some extra effort could be made.

Review 11:A beautifully restored old house with just 5 rooms. I had a lovely double room which opened out onto a beautiful private garden and pool. It was wonderfully peaceful and quiet yet very close to centre of Trujillo. It is a really wonderful place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff.Highly recommended.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:The ambience of the house and very comfortable bedroon, full of character. Lovely courtyard. Few minutes walk into the main plaza. Breakfast was good.

Review 14:This little hotel exudes history and it feel like you are traveling back in time.

Review 15:Room opened out on to patio by the pool, excellent reception and service, good breakfast, parking by the front door

Review 16:Breakfast was really poor, with no fresh fruit, weak coffee and plain toast. Not at all what would be expected of a "boutique" hotel, especially one that's this expensive. They should provide information available about tourism and dining options in the area.

Review 17:Beautifully restored building, with a lot of historical details. Very comfortable rooms and common areas.

Review 18:Compared with other good hotels in Extremadura rather pricey.

Review 19:Nice historic building, good room, helpful people. The hotel lies in the historic upper part of the town. Due to a festival many streets were closed and only a few minutes after our telephone call we were guided to the hotel!

Review 20:Bedside lights could be a little brighter for reading (although lighting generally very good). We appreciated breakfast was typically Spanish, but would have appreciated just a little more variety over several days - coffee was brilliant though.

Review 21:Beautiful historic building, lovely spacious room with lots of character, very comfortable, lovely pool, very helpful hosts. Lovely to wake to birdsong and scent of spring flowers. Location great - recommend parking by the cemetery (very short walk to hotel) - but, as pointed out by others, it is worth phoning shortly before for help in finding hotel and gaining access. Trujillo is a wonderful town, and the countryside around just as good - beautiful scenery, brilliant birds. It was nice to have a book about Trujillo in the room.

Review 22:Breakfast was disappointing, especially given relatively high cost of hotel (120 euros per night at weekend). Lack of wireless internet though wired internet was available.

Review 23:Small boutique hotel in an old historic building with attentive staff and good facilities. Beautiful garden with small pool to relax in after day's sightseeing. Right in the centre of the historic walled area of Trujillo.

Review 24:This was wonderful, a real gem, beautifully furnished and luxurious with every comfort. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, anticipating problems negotiating the narrow streets of Trujillo and recommending 'phoning so they can meet guests and help them find the hotel. Beautiful.

Review 25:The 15th century house has been lavishly transformed into an extremely comfortable and stylish hotel with only five bedrooms. It is in the centre of the historic centre of the town and a very easy walk to restaurants etc. we got a bit lost on the way there but we telephone and the manager came down on his motor cycle and led us to the door. The public areas are stuffed with antiques and very comfortable sofas and chairs. It's a bit like staying in a privately owned stately home. Absolutely wonderful.

Review 26:Beautiful building and tasteful design throughout. Very peaceful. Ownerscould not have been more helpful, a need to study map in advance as wedidn't find it easy to find.

Review 27:wifi wasn't great

Review 28:beautiful rooms and public spaces, pretty breakfast, perfect location

Review 29:Decor, friendly staff

Review 30:Not much choice at breakfast.

Review 31:Lovely small hotel, great atmosphere and decoration, very comfortable. Very nice, helpful staff.

Review 32:Fabulously appointed in a great location. A great evening lstening to the local brass band playing in the plaza as part of the fiesta.

Review 33:Renovated historical site, home of Orellana. Simply to say "Fantastic".

Review 34:Overall environment of the house

Review 35:Very helpful and friendly

Review 36:An amazing place Historical building Actual home of a Conquistador Large rooms Great views Wonderful service

Review 37:Very charming house from THE middle ages, personnel very friendly

Review 38:Breakfast ok.We chose this for the swimming pool but it was not ready.

Review 39:Our room was lovely everything we needed for comfort.

Review 40:It is a pearl of a hotel, designed with love, good taste and imagination. Attention to the details is visible in every detail:)

Review 41:Historical context right in middle of town
