Reviews for Posada Dos Orillas
Review 1:My Room only had a small window; Might be a bit noisy from the neighbours as the Walls do Not really absorb the Noise- but it was not a Big Problem During my stay.
Review 2:Very Nice Location, staff and City. Quiet area. Parking no Problem anywhere in the City (i do Not know about high Season though)
Review 3:The wonderful staff - so helpful and considerate. Also, the room was lovely and location couldn't be better. I was able to relax and thoroughly enjoyed my 3 day stay at Dos Orillas.
Review 4:The location is perfect. Near to The castle and The old town. The building itself is perfect. Old stone building with charmig rooms and superbly furnished rooms.
Review 5:This is the most charming, historical inn we stayed in Spain. The proprietor carried our luggage and made us feel very welcome. The location is perfect, an easy walk to everything in the old city. The bed was comfortable and the outdoor breakfast courtyard relaxing, perfect for us with unlimited coffee and toast. No gym needed as you can do extensive stair climbing in the church towers nearby, worth the entry fee for the views. Park in front of Mirador de las monjas. Tiny plaza with dedicated parking for hotel.
Review 6:the history of the posada and the city. Its location to the historic parts of Trujillo was wonderful. Lovely rooms, one overlooking a gorgeous garden/interior patio.
Review 7:A welcome addition would be coffee or tea making facilities in the room.
Review 8:The Posada dos Orillas is a beautiful and atmospheric hotel, wonderfully restored and with a real sense of history. We were given a warm and friendly welcome and the best of attention. An excellent place to stay, right on the heart of the old town.
Review 9:Beautifully renovated small hotel in an excellent location. Staff/management could not have been more friendly and helpful. Just a pity our Spanish did not enable us to take full advantage of their desire to engage us in conversation (they speak very little English)! Strongly recommended, if all you want a small hotel with limited facilities, but lots of character.
Review 10:no wifi connection in rooms. Essential for modern day travellers and needs to be addressed. not a lot of choice at breakfast. Better to charge a bit more and provide fresh fruit and meats.
Review 11:delightful, welcoming, helpful staff. Comfortable room. Parking no problem. Central location, very convenient for main plaza. Coffee at breakfast freshly made and excellent quality.
Review 12:What a beautiful place to stay. We were two sets of friends travelling around southern Spain and stopped here for one night. It was just perfect in every respect. Beautiful, big, spacious rooms tastefully decorated, friendly and helpful English speaking staff, excellent location and the most beautiful building with peaceful inner courtyard where we had breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and we felt it was great value for money.
Review 13:The ac didnt work in our room but it worked for our friends.
Review 14:We got there a lot later for check-in than we had anticipated.. 2-3am instead of 10pm... locals lent us their phone to call. The host came from his house to open the door and he was smiley and welcomey, then and the next morning when we checked out. The place is adorable and has a lot of character. We would definitely go back.
Review 15:Location and tranquillity in an old part of town only to be woken in the morning by church bells nearby! Leisurely breakfast in the courtyard. Kindly and helpful staff,
Review 16:All and everything!
Review 17:Good accommodation in a lovely old building, right in the middle of the old town - and all at a very reasonable price
Review 18:Beautifully decorated and full of character. Excellent location in old centre, very easy to park. The host was lovely.
Review 19:wonderful old buiding, right in the historical hart of Trujillo.
Review 20:Great place to stay in Trujillo
Review 21:Everything was just perfect and the owners treated us like family! This is our new "home" in Trujillo
Review 22:Parking was a problem. Luggage should be dropped at hotel before parking in the city below.
Review 23:It was quaint, clean, charming.
Review 24:a bit pricey for what is essentisally a B&B
Review 25:quiet and comfort in the old part of the town
Review 26:High ceilings made it slow to heat up - so room felt cold
Review 27:Hotel is a wonderful old mansion
Review 28:Great value
Review 29:Beautiful room in small inn in historic part of the town, friendly staff. Good location for visiting the historic sites.
Review 30:We loved the place, the staff/owners, treated us royally, were extremely helpful, the location was excellent, in the middle of the historical area, within the medieval city walls, being a restored XVI c palace. The inn could be four stars. Highly recommend it. El hostal maravilloso, lo recomiendo, nuestra estancia fue excelente.
Review 31:The owners are two brothers , both great guys. Have breakfast sitting on the beautiful terrace, only 3 euro .We stayed in the " Cuba " bedroom. Beautiful but no view.
Review 32:Wifi not available in our room
Review 33:Great location, good breakfast, very friendly staff, atmospheric hotel. Hotel is quiet and rooms are dark at night apart from the annoying exit light which now appears to be obligatory and useless!
Review 34:NOTHING
Review 35:This is the most wonderful 2 star hotel in the world, the staff could not do more for you , we felt like royalty my husband was not well they could not do more to help us , we WILL be back.
Review 36:Don't miss this cosy small hotel. Enjoy the atmosphere of the entree, the staircase and the rooms. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. Arriving by car is something like a small adventure on the last 300 meters. Location is very quiet. The small terrace is idyllic.
Review 37:Parking very difficult and also driving to the hotel through very narrow streets. Therefore less suitable if you are on a long journey.
Review 38:A beautifully renovated hotel in the old town. Staff very friendly but did not speak any English. Breakfast started in our opinion late on Saturday (8.30) since we were continuing our journey back to the UK
Review 39:Various travel guides refer to the excellent restaurant at this Posada. However be aware that it is not open in the winter - understandably due to lack of clientele. This is not a criticism of the Posada but it is a criticism of the guide books which do not mention that fact!
Review 40:Delightful building with comfortable and spacious bedrooms. Staff very helpful. Good value.
Review 41:Difficult to find parking available nearby.
Review 42:Inexpensive breakfast at 3euros. Clean rooms with modern comforts in old converted palace. Fast wi-fi in all rooms.
Review 43:We had a fantastic stay. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpfull while still giving us our privacy. We felt at home! Best hotel we stayed at during our month in Spain. Highly reccomended! Thanks guys, we will see you again in the future.
Review 44:If you are driving, be prepared for a hairy ride up the hill.
Review 45:The staff was ultra-friendly. The rooms were intriguing and comfortable. Highly recommend.
Review 46:This is a gem of a hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated and there were lovely articles of furniture throughout the hotel. It is situated within the city walls of the lovely town of Trujillo which is a beautiful medieval town. If you like staying in old, characterful places, then this is the town and hotel to be.
Review 47:Historic building in the centre of Trujillo.Cosy room with view of courtyard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking close by but quite an experience driving through narrow cobbled streets to get to hotel.
Review 48:Good location, even parking was possible nearby, friendly staff, comfyrooms which were all called after a country where another town ofTrujillo can be found. (We stayed in the room "Peru")
Review 49:Parking could be very difficult unless you are lucky enough to get a spot at the nd of the narrow road.
Review 50:Very atmospheric, romantic, historical building. Breakfast is excellent value!
Review 51:My room on the street was very noisy. Would have loved a bath tub, not just a shower. The staff did not speak any English, however, they were friendly and helpful. The hotel used overpowering incense in the lobby and common areas. This tended to make me feel ill.
Review 52:Located in a quaint traditional Spanish Village. Lovely old building with a very traditional feel. Clean Rooms, friendly staff.
Review 53:Do check if the restaurant is open before you book - we didn't, and it wasn't, which was a little disappointing. Check if your room has a window before you book - ours didn't. The staff very kindly moved us to a superior room at no extra charge. However, this wouldn't have been possible if it hadn't been fairly quiet. Also best to go in the warmer months when the beautiful plaza is lively and you can sit outside. When we went it was raining, the town was deserted and many restaurants and businesses were closed.
Review 54:Beautiful building, nicely situated in the heart of the old town. Comfortable rooms, stylish decor very helpful service, excellent price.
Review 55:Breakfast was limited to toast and jam but only €3 and more substantial alternatives available closeby.
Review 56:the little hotel is a gem once you find it! Our room was nicely presented with a very comfortable bed, great shower and air conditioning. The staff, although limited in English were attentive, friendly and helpful. Two minutes walk to the main square with a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Trujillo is a beautiful old town and well worth a visit and a stay at this hotel.
Review 57:Parking is an issue, but not insurmountable.
Review 58:Everything! Ambiance. Charming rooms and common areas. Friendly, helpfulstaff. Location is priceless. Incredible home port for exploring one ofthe best kept "secrets" of Spain. There is a reason Pizarro and theother conquistadors came from Trujillo.
Review 59:No restaurant but close enough to the centre not to matter
Review 60:Once more clearer directions would help the Garmin was definitely foxedand we did go round the cathedral a few times.
Review 61:On an old cobbled narrow street, so watch satnav carefully!
Review 62:Within a gorgeous historic centre of v small town ... Beautifully Spanish-styled boutique hotel ... individually styled rooms, great atmosphere.
Review 63:The hotel is at the top of a hill through a network or very narrow, steep streets. Do some research first to locate likely parking areas and then plan to drop off the luggage before going to park.
Review 64:The rooms in this historic building were very well appointed and comfortable. We liked that it was within the ancient city walls and we could walk to all points of interest. We had to leave early in the morning and did not get to enjoy their breakfast.
Review 65:Wish the restaurant in the hotel were open for lunch and dinner. A bulbhad blown above the mirror in the bathroom so it was a bit dark.
Review 66:It is a beautifully-furnished hotel with a romantic and historicalambience that made our stay here such a special one. Each room isdecorated differently and both the room and bathroom are spacious withquality toiletries. The staff is very helpful and friendly especiallythe cheerful young man with a Mohican hairdo who prepared a deliciousbreakfast for us and called a taxi to take us to the bus station. There is a family-run bar-restaurant just next door which servesdelicious paella for a very reasonable price. Plaza Mayor isaccessible through a path just behind the hotel and all the sights arewithin walking distance.
Review 67:Parking could be an issue (although it was not for us - unexpectedlyhad a spot right in front for our three day stay). Really nothingnot to like.
Review 68:The Posada Dos Orillas was a wonderfully atmospheric building, withlarge and comfortable rooms. The cozy breakfast room looking onto a wellcared for courtyard made for very relaxing times during breaks fromsightseeing. Staff were accommodating and friendly (with very littleEnglish). The Posada could not be more conveniently located forexploring Trujillo.
Review 69:The staff are extremely helpful. The hotel decor is exceptional andthe hotel very clean and in very good order. We love the garden. Wewill return if we return to Trujillo. Best wishes to everyone thereand the trip to Oviedo was 6 ++ hours often through ice and snowtowards the end.

Review 72:Excellent place to stay, very comfortable, in a great location, with wonderful staff. Super clean and decorated with good taste.
Review 73:very warm and friendly staff - very nice old building - tasteful decor - well located
Review 74:There was nothing that we did not like
Review 75:Loved the hotel. Loved the med who ran it. Loved the location. Loved the city.
Review 76:You should take care of parking, as the streets are very tight
Review 77:The design of hotel, the environment, design of room, location of hotel
Review 78:None
Review 79:Very comfortable, family owned hotel in a nice quiet location. The personnel were partcularly friendly and accomadating
Review 80:noise carried from room to room.
Review 81:lovely room, lovely old renovated house, very comfortable, more like a 4 star hotel than a hostal.
Review 82:It is part of the old town and it is an authentic part of the old city.
