Reviews for Citotel B.Hotel
Review 1:Brown walls, one broken blind, but able to close it by hand.
Review 2:Convenient, easy to find, room clean and comfortable, easy to park. Arrived late but they easily organised access for us.
Review 3:They say there is a French restraint underneath the hotel! My dad ordered the vintage sardines on a slate plate. It did come out on a slate plate yes. But it was just a tin of sardines!!! And they hadn't even opened the tin he had to do that him self. About the rooms they were so dark even with all the lights and lamps on you could hardly see each other. The train track that your next to wakes you up when a train goes past because the bed moves half way across the room.
Review 4:The location is very poor as there are very little restaurants in the area. The staff is very rude and does not answer any questions, there is no internet, room was very dirty and bathroom extremely small. I DO NOT recommend staying here.
Review 5:There was very little I liked about this hotel.
Review 6:They did take payment on arrival but this appears to be fairly common at this end of the price range. There was a pervading smell of drains, which is also fairly common in France, they'd put oil reed air fresheners everywhere which only added to the issue in my opinion. I kept the bath and sink plugholes closed, the windows open and sealed the air freshener in a plastic bag. The room freshened up considerably. The lighting was too poor to read a book. My room wasn't serviced for three days, I drew this to the attention of the older lady who made sure it was serviced thenceforth but it never saw a hoover in the week I was there and was of dubious cleanliness by and large. I do sleep in earplugs but slept very well every night except for the Saturday, when some young people in the next room were jollying about till 2 am. Reception isn't staffed much and certainly not at night so there was nobody to deal with this. I ate there twice in the evening and regretted it both times, fish undercooked and still raw in the middle, spaghetti and rice in such a congealed state I had to cut the lumps up with a knife. I do speak passable French which is good because none of the staff spoke English at all, whether this was because they thought I wanted to speak French I have no idea, I just know I had to speak French all the time.
Review 7:The reason I booked here was the location - across the road from the train station, a huge free car park and the UCAR office, plus the price which was very reasonable. The breakfast was very good though it wasn't until the third day I knew eggs were available. The huge car park is having a nine screen cinema built on it soon, there is other car parking close by and I'd find the cinema across the road a definite advantage but it might detract from the hotel in some ways. The free wi-fi was excellent.
Review 8:No elevator, some people had problems to climb up on the second floor. Staff does not speak almost any English, although she understood everything when I used simple explanations and was very helpful. WiFi almost non existing (signal was weak or drifting away).
Review 9:Cozy yet spacious room. Freshly renovated bathroom. Both extremely clean! Nice location, just on the opposite side of the road from the railway station. Big and free of charge parking across the road. Very helpful receptionist.
Review 10:Strange establishment. Seemed like we had booked into a brothel. Found a condom wrapper in our bedroom. Boarded up windows and furniture stacked into piles made us think it was closing down.
Review 11:Breakfast was a disaster. We booked breakfast for 4 at 8am. On arrival we found 3 pre-packed breakfasts 2 of which were partially eaten. We made the best of what was left. There were no instructions on how to use the coffee machine & no staff on duty. We were in a hurry to catch a train,
Review 12:Pleasant hotel with nice rooms
Review 13:Wifi signal wasn't great.
Review 14:After reading the reviews - I will admit we were pretty worried about what we would find, but we were really pleased! We had a family room which had a double bed and two single beds which to the delight of our children were in their own separate room. Room was a lovely size so was more a suite. Bed was really comfortable.
Review 15:The WiFi failed to work properly for the two nights I stayed. The first night I attempted to explain to a member of staff at reception that probably had a problem with their router. This young woman was indifferent to my requests, even having demonstrated the problem on my Ipad. She noted that their desk top computer was working and clearly did not understand the basics of Wifi connections. As a consequence I incurred two expensive mobile calls to the UK on my NZ networked mobile phone.
Review 16:The staff at breakfast where very pleasant.
Review 17:Our room was not tidied and the towels were not replaced until the day before we left. (We stayed 4 nights.) The towels were very small and so needed replacing daily. On two occasions, while we were in the room, someone tried to get in (not cleaners!) Fortunately we had locked the door!
Review 18:The staff, the décor (very quirky!), the room.
Review 19:Nicely refurbished, excellent bathrooms. Proper bar with good service. Easy parking but understand the parking area is about to be developed which would be problematic.
Review 20:The free car park opposite the hotel which was a quagmire and full of potholes.
Review 21:The restaurant meal The exercise up and down the stairs if your on the top floor !!
Review 22:freezing cold room, no heating until the hotel system kicked in. Leaking radiator, tiny bathroom. Unlockable widows that opened fully - scary when 2 floors up with 2 young children. Plugpoints hanging out of wall & unusable. being woken at 09:30 so the room could be cleaned when check out is 12noon. dusty room. curtain rail hanging off wall. Minimal breakfast bad value for 8.50Euro
Review 23:location was pretty good Room layout was ok Décor quite nice
Review 24:Un- manned reception on arrival and during stay, metal staircase to reach bedrooms at back of the hotel which was poorly lit and the decking was uneven, bar only open 18.30-21.30 although it was Sunday. poor value breakfast, one croissant a piece of baguette a yoghurt, half a microwaved apple one glass of orange juice and only allowed one cup of coffee is not worth £7.50
Review 25:Room was value for money, room/bathroom clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, friendly female in Bar Sunday Evening/Monday Morning, Dinner was good quality and value, very good beer and house wine. Internet access code in room easily accessed.
Review 26:Hotel under going works so some disruption didn't matter too much aswe only stayed one night.
Review 27:Clean bed linen, breakfast good value, staff friendly althoughdidn't speak much English but then we didn't speak much French!
Review 28:Very noisy due to the closeness of the very busy train station. No air conditioning. Lots of building works going on in the hotel, a work in progress.
Review 29:The room was excellent value, clean, very spacious with a modern bathroom.
Review 30:There was nothing really to dislike. Our only problem was the weather. We arrived in a rain storm and our room was in the newly refurbished annex which meant we had to dodge the drips across from the main building. Hopefully the canopy will soon be completed.
Review 31:Very friendly staff. Huge, clean, well appointed room with equally large en suite bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Good food both in the evening and at breakfast.
Review 32:Closed at 9pm, no wast to get a drink after this. No tea/coffee in room. Couldn't move in the shower, room dark, bed uncomfortable. The lady at the desk was very helpful and cooked for us but after 9pm there are no staff in the building.
Review 33:No mirror above dressing table. Wifi code not provided automatically and by the time we thought to ask, reception unmanned (9 pm). Only 2 sets of towels for 3 people (although we encounter this nearly everywhere).
Review 34:Huge bathroom, 2 basins, walk-in double shower. Large triple bedroom (double and single bed - single was a proper bed not a camp bed). Very clean. Good evening meal and breakfast.
Review 35:renovation work is probably still going on, though it did not really have an impact on us.
Review 36:easy to find; we arrived late, but the manager stayed up to welcome us. the room was recently renovated and in pleasant und nice condition
Review 37:Hotel was in a very deprived area so first impressions were not great. On entering the hotel there was an unpleasant odour which didn't go away. I genuinely did not feel safe through my stay there and felt quite grotty. Worst stay of our two road trip across Europe! Wifi was appalling! Would not recommend this to anyone!
Review 38:Breakfast
Review 39:Right Opposite a main line TGV station with several high speed trains passing through during the night. Bar and Restaurant closed at 9:00pm and we had to be asked to leave! Although connecting to Wi-fi couldn't access the internet and the staff had no idea why? Room quite dark as only had a couple of bedside lights.
Review 40:Free parking
Review 41:the problem is that in this Hotel no Lift if available
Review 42:i like the location
Review 43:Very relaxed atmosphere; Comfortable and unpretentious.
Review 44:Beaucoup trop bruyant la nuit, obligé de fermer la fenêtre et du coup trop chaud car pas de clim.
Review 45:Hotel was untidy and seemed to be under renovation. No Wi-Fi.
Review 46:Weak wifi in our room, heat on only in the evenings and night.
Review 47:Great breakfast, helpful front desk staff.
Review 48:nothing
Review 49:fantastic for family especially with young children. I love the quietness
Review 50:Family room not as nice as triple room we stayed in before - bathroom very small and room hot.
Review 51:Lacked atmosphere Not a great area
Review 52:Size of the room Adequate parking Quiet Good price
Review 53:Across road from busy main train station. Noisy at night
Review 54:Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 55:Wifi didn't work, electrics in room looked unsafe with missing switch covers and broken sockets
Review 56:Staff very helpful
Review 57:The rest of the hotel looks like it needs a bit of a refurbishment. The railway over the road is very noisy if you need to open the window.
Review 58:The room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 59:Checking in was a bit difficult as the staff did not speak English .
Review 60:The hotel was great, the room was perfect for three children. I would most certainly recommend it and would stay there again.
Review 61:Couldn't find any one that spoke English for advice and never anyone on reception anyway and the bar and restaurant was closed on the weekend
Review 62:Room was clean and tastefully decorated
Review 63:No lift, too many stairs. Difficult to find any staff. No welcome. Lacked any hospitality. Bathroom facilities poor with cracked sink, no shower curtain , empty shower gel etc
Review 64:Location
Review 65:Breakfast served too late. Told about it after having paid. Access to bedroom through courtyard and external stairs. People running through corridor and trying to open bedroom door. Internet, no or poor signal, password incorrect.
Review 66:Lady rather worse for wear smoking at the main door (lots of cigarette ends) and was sleeping on a sofa in reception when we left, and outside appearance of hotel made the place look run down - we almost didn't go in. It's being renovated, if we'd known it would have helped.
Review 67:Lovely room, newly renovated. Helpful staff.
Review 68:un manned hotel had to gain access via restaurant next door blinds broken, live electrical sockets in childrens room uncovered, shower door broken. Mentally ill guest in corridor outside of the room, which the check in operator thought was highly amusing. this hotel felt like it was being used to house local homeless people. avoid at all costs
Review 69:Bathroom extremely small. Only 1 member of staff on duty who seemed rushed off her feet and no one around when we left the next morning. No particularly friendly or helpful.
Review 70:Rooms quite well equipped and fairly comfortable.
Review 71:The hotel was locked when we arrived at lunchtime - the chef from the restaurant arrived to let us in! We actually only ever saw one member of staff at any one time. Breakfast was in the bar and was slightly off putting when men were coming in and drinking beer at 8 am!
Review 72:The restaurant was excellent - although you can't actually access it from the hotel, you have to come out of the hotel and walk around the corner into the restaurant. Nevertheless very good.
Review 73:Bedside Lights and Toilet light cut off early evening. Therefore I wasunable to work in the room. Was it coincidence that they cut out thesame time as the outside fountain and came on at 0700am. The same timethat the fountians started.Hotel literature sent by your organisation stated a chair and desk is available in rooms. In fact, there was an uncomfortable stool and a dressing table. The room lighting was poor due to the colour of the dark decor of the walls etc. Although an attempt to make the rooms chic this is a low budget hotel. The carpets were threadbare and it was a long trek up 2 flight of stairs, daunting to a weary and elderly traveller. No internet was available, despite being advertised on hotel literature and a main reason for choosing this hotel. Hotel staff did not know how to connect a vital telephone call to my room, compounding problems caused with no internet. Despite requesting a quiet room, clearly stated on my hotel request, the room was very noisy from the large fountain in front of the hotel. Plus, loud noises from trains due to close location of Railway Station. The toilet seat was the wrong size and did not fit, making it uncomfortable to sit on, plus unhygenic. Disturbed by an ongoing commotion in the corridor outside the room. Also disturbed by hotel staff knocking on the door and saying I reported the TV tuner was not working. I made no such claim.
Review 74:I did not visit the restaurant! The lady receptionist had a good command of English but it was pointless trying to communicate with other staff as I had only a little knowledge of French but am usually able to converse adequately.
Review 75:The restaurant was shut when we arrived at 9:30pm so we had to drive into the centre of Béthune to eat. The bathroom was a little basic.
Review 76:It was conveniently located about 1 hour from Calais. The centre of Béthune was a delight
Review 77:Location No on site secure car park-told to use station car park which was a building site. No lift Website is deceiving, not what you get. Beds very uncomfortable Shower doors did not close Could not move in family room Blinds broken No tea/coffee facilities Staff told us where to sit in bar Restuarant was not open Windows were filthy Corridor to room needed a good hoover 1 pillow each in bed Do not recommend, stay away
Review 78:Nothing really, bar and food okay.
Review 79:Walls between adjoining rooms rather thin. Had they been any thinner myFrench vocab would have been significantly expanded by morning.
Review 80:Conveniently situated not far off the a26 (motorway east out ofCalais). Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value spacious'family room', actually a two bedroom suite, with shared showerroom in between.
Review 81:not being used to central heating the room was a bit too warm.
Review 82:convienience of location, able to park. restuarant on sight
Review 83:the lack of elevator
Review 84:The location
Review 85:No tea/coffee facilities. Food average
Review 86:Stairs
Review 87:Lack of hot water sometimes!
Review 88:Comfortable, clean rooms
Review 89:no lift and a long way of stairs to go up to the room with the luggage
Review 90:the room was well equipped, very good breakfast
Review 91:No staff on the desk on arrival, had to wait 10 mins. TV remote issued with dead batteries. No hot water until a plumber sorted it in a few hours.
