Reviews for Les Balcons d'Anaïte
Review 1:Warm and cosy room with a lovely view. Convenient for the bus stop and supermarket. The staff were very helpful. We look forward to returning in the future!
Review 2:Nothing to report
Review 3:The bed was very comfortable and having stayed in alot of apartments in the valley was the cleanest. The layout was practical and a reception facility available at certain times of the day. Very friendly and close to bus stop and super u.
Review 4:Gym equipment was a little limited, but the health suite was fab. Would have preferred an oven rather than a dishwasher in the apartment, but we soon mastered the microwave (sort of).
Review 5:Everything was fab, very comfortable, warm and cosy, we even managed to get English TV. Our ground floor apartment was perfect for our little dog. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good central location, for activities.
Review 6:The beds are a little uncomfortable - quite creaky and lumpy pillows too.
Review 7:Really welcoming and helpful staff. It's a very good set up for an affordable self-catering option - quite ingenious how all the beds are accommodated. Free bus is fantastic and the bus stop is very close by.
Review 8:Rooms, and most importantly the furniture, can be a bit cleaner. Sofa bed was broken. some of the pillows and bed covers had stains on them.
Review 9:Great location. Some rooms have wonderful views... and most importantly, the friendly and helpful staff.
Review 10:The place was dirty. Bathroom disgusted. We had to clean the apartment before and after otherwise they would charge us for cleaning service. Additional charge for towels and linens... Ok for budget accommodation but I would never book the place again... Kettle not working properly, coffee maker made from spare parts, radiators not working. Next to roundabout...
Review 11:None, it was better than expected.
Review 12:Excellent location, away from crowded Chamois, but close enough, with free ride on the bus. Good price if you are willing to keep it clean to avoid surcharge. You can use the kitchenette in the room and save on restaurant expenses. Two supermarkets are within walking distance. Free parking saves money too. Bring your own sheets and towels, and toilet paper.
Review 13:The bed could have been a little more comfortable and the cable cars are kocated at the other end of town about 25min walk away. Off season the town itself seems a little closed down and public transport in the valley stops before 8pm, so you'd need a hire car if you want late evenings out in Chamonix, though we did not mind that.
Review 14:As we were just outside of the summer season the price was great, excellent value for money. Room was what you'd expect and had what we needed. It's close to a well stocked supermarket with late opening hours and to a bus stop and there are plenty of hiking options directly from Les Houches.
Review 15:Perfect location, big and spacious apartment with fully equipped kitchen. View of the Mont Blanc from the balcony. Alessandro was very friendly and helpful. Second time we've stayed here.
Review 16:There was no advance information about fee for towels and bed linen (recommended to take own one's). It is also better to take own soap and toilet paper.
Review 17:Very good position for activities in Chamonix valley. There is very friendly and willing staff.
Review 18:The bed is very noisy so our babies were awakened from sleep. The linen and cleaning fee are charged.
Review 19:The hotel is good location. free WIFI, Savoie atmosphere.
Review 20:The apartment appliances need updating and regularly testing. We had to move apartments due to faulty fridge freezer. The kitchen worktop was not large enough for a kettle, toaster and coffee maker provided. The glass shower curtain leaked very badly in the first apartment. The location although convenient was noisy from road traffic. Exspencive towel and bedding hire.
Review 21:The location was near a couple of bars and eating places. A five minute walk to the village super market. We had a good view of the mountains.
Review 22:The sofa had seen better days and the arms were collapsing. The reception staffing was sporadic. The cleaning and linen charges weren't clear.
Review 23:Great location, clean and comfortable. Good parking.
Review 24:The fact that you have to pay for the bed linen, the lack of toilet paper, soap, sponge etc. There was a lot of dust under the bed and the ski lockers smelled really badly. I would have expected a newer and tidier room at that price.
Review 25:The staff was friendly enough and the room was large, with a beautiful view of the Alps. The sauna is a plus.
Review 26:Great staff clearly family run and owned...not opulent five staff but great ski accommodation spacious and spotless car is a must for Chamonix but a perfect last minute booking
Review 27:Double bed in lounge slightly uncomfortable and creeks when moving about
Review 28:Good welcome from owners and a suitable location with good transport links. Good value.
Review 29:Not all rooms are cleaned by the cleaner - self clean available and we must have had a self clean that was not that great
Review 30:Free WiFi and the friends I went with and the low cost
Review 31:Very loud as near motorway. Double bed was very uncomfortable. Hidden cost of linen, towels and cleaning. If we'd stayed for a whole week, could have possibly meant an increase of 100 euros which I never took into consideration when making the booking. I was prepared to clean myself, but was told very rudley that this wasnt an option & that this was stated on their website.
Review 32:Self-catering facilities was really useful as enabled us to have breakfast in. Dinner could be cooked but limited as no oven. Wifi also an added bonus. Free bus service to Les Houche and chamonix - be aware that this is at least 10 minute bus ride and would probably take 30 minutes to walk to les houche.
Review 33:Not able to contact by email but Sylvie did ring me on mobile to confirm details two nights before. Shame you have to pay for linen and towels additionally and it isn't included in the price. It would help however if these prices were available on the website to calculate total costs. An additional 72 euros needed for linen alone. Would have been 120 for linen and towels if we had not brought towels. Animal hair on blankets and mop very dirty when used to clean apartment.
Review 34:Sylvie very helpful and friendly and was able to be flexible with checking in time as we had four young children. Able to leave luggage after check out at 10am. Good accessibility to local free transport.
Review 35:Cleaning charge is extra; quite common in France. However must still leave kitchen clean - could do with a few dishcloths, washing up liquid etc
Review 36:Very handy for local shuttle bus to Bellevue lift, avoids Chamonix bus that gets crowded
Review 37:Bed sheets, towels and final cleaning are not included. This info was availiable on the website of the hotel but not mentioned in our Booking.com reservation. The problem was quickly solved out. The hotel is situated on the highway. Noisy when windows are open.
Review 38:Location, private parking, locked space for ski, hammam and sauna included. Additional discount for ski rent. The staff was very gentil. We were 3 and booked an apt for 4-6 people. For us the size was excellent, however this would not be enough for 6 people. Big salon and 2 separate bedrooms. Ideally for 2 couples or parents with kids.
Review 39:nothing not to like
Review 40:lovely flat with great views very friendly helpful staff Good sauna/steam and gym facilities easy access free wifi good parking and ski storage near good restaurants
Review 41:Perhaps the shower can have a longer partition cover to prevent water from splashing on the toilet floor when a shower is taken.
Review 42:The staff Alexander and Selvie are wonderful people that made our 7 nights stay a pleasant and memorable holiday. Even though many of the attractions were closed, their warmth and hospitality made the Les Balcons an attraction herself. I have travelled to many parts of the world and stayed in motels, hotels , chalets, resorts etc, never have I met such wonderful people. The staff Alexander is a real gem who went out of his way to help us in many occasions. He will always be remembered and we hope to meet him somewhere and sometime again !!!
Review 43:there is no sheets and towels! extra charge (10 euro per person) . bring your own! you need to clean the room before you leave otherwise extra charge for cleaning.
Review 44:the staff very kind and helpfull, the room is big, clean, well orgenized. the kitchen is fully equiped. the balcony is a nice extra. the view of the mont blanc from the balcony is stunning. the sauna and hamam are great after day of hiking/skiing. free parking. the price (off season) was the lowest in chamonix valley. supermarket is 3 minutes waking away.
Review 45:- little friendly service - too much closeness street - had the impression that he lived "on the roundabout" - unpleasant and dirty access to the sauna - discouraging to use
Review 46:- mountain view from the balcony
Review 47:The hidden extras of having to pay for your bedding, towels andcleaning. The lady at the reception was very rude when I could notunderstand that bedding and towels was not included in the price and hadto pay 20 euros extra per person for 4 days stay and no daily change. When I came to check out the dragon wanted to argue with me and was veryrude! All I can say on the matter is whatever! Will never stay again inthese faulty towers run apartments which make Bazil Faulty look veryprofessional!!!!

Review 74:The apartment is comfortable, spacious and in a very convenient location. The owners were friendly and helpful
Review 75:Beds
Review 76:The position
Review 77:bedsheets price (20euro/per person/stay) should be listed in the policy as it's not.

Review 79:Main bed makes a lot of noise when moving.
Review 80:Owners were lovely and really helpful
Review 81:- perfect location - nice sauna / steam bath - large free parking space - very friendly staff
Review 82:None
Review 83:Good location, service, come together with spa and gym, near to many facilities like bus stops, restaurants and supermarket.

Review 88:Near by highway and you can heard it well, especially at night.
Review 89:Big and spacious apartment. Nice and friendly staff.
Review 90:1. Furniture, and curtains a bit shabby.
Review 91:1. Good location. 2. Small but comfortable studio apartment. 3. on the main road to Chamonix.
Review 92:Close to mountain access using free transport. Quite location Close to chamonix free short bus/train ride.
Review 93:you have to clean the apartment spotless before you leave or PAY
Review 94:Great place. Booked late & got a good deal. Only 10 mins from Chamonix. Big Double bedroom split over two floors. 2nd time we've stayed
Review 95:Maybe the situation - between the highway and the entrance road to Les Houches.
Review 96:Apartment is well-sized, with big bathroom, clean. Free WiFi was available even in apartment and was very fast. Big parking by the hotel. Super U supermarket in a 2-minute drive.
Review 97:Bring your own washing up stuff and soap! Running short of storage space if there'd been four of us.
Review 98:Clean, sensible basic accommodation with everything you need, helpful staff, close to ski bus, although not close to the main skiing areas.
Review 99:The bedding needed a bit of an airing, at the end of a long ski season (we visited April); it was clean, just the heavier blankets etc needed freshening up.
Review 100:The people are very friendly & helpful; it's easygoing, a great ski base & very good value - particularly the free gym, sauna & steam bath, all included in a good price.
Review 101:Traffic noise, would recommend new windows...
Review 102:Very helpful and friendly staff, spacious apartment (10 people), hot sauna and hammam, close to Chamonix, wi-fi working all the time
Review 103:There was a strong sewer gas smell in our bedroom, when we pointed it out to the management nothing was done. The smell made us sick and we had to move out of the bedroom...but no compensation was offered.
Review 104:The desk staff were generally pretty helpful.
Review 105:The kitchen equipment was various and some things were missing. And an oven would be great. To go for skiing, you always need a car or will have to use buses that are quite full.
Review 106:Good basic level accommodation with a very helpful staff. Location in the village is good. There's a supermarket close by and some restaurants. The 2-floor apartment was spacious enough for 9 persons.
Review 107:Wifi was quickly overloaded in the evening. There wasn't adequate serving and cooking utensils. The website didn't inform of the cleaning costs.
Review 108:Room was ample for our family of four and was close to all skiing.
Review 109:Apartment has kitchen but if its use it you must pay extra forcleaning (not informed at booking) we did not use the kitchen butowner took money from my credit card without my permission.Makes mefeel sick. Also apartment very small (photos misleading) two peoplehave to sleep on bunk beds in hallway apartment has only one room butadvertised for 6 adults.Traffic noise all night with motorway behindand main road in-front.
Review 110:Stay away
Review 111:Exceptionally friendly staff Ideal location Wonderful Mountain View Private Balcony Nicely decorated Good equipment Easy car parking and lift Free local transport, bus, train
Review 112:small cups need mugs. not enough pan lids. no measuring jug no table mats or kitchen scissors. difficult tin opener.
Review 113:great view from room and balcony. Great staff. Quiet. Good location. Close to valley free transport. comfortable. nice flat screen tv and 2 english channels
Review 114:The bed heavily creaked so me any my wife got to switch it with the kids :-)
Review 115:Simply perfect for everyone who are still interested in MB Area but already tired of further and further lounge development of Chx
Review 116:We had to use the free wi-fi in the lobby, but it wasn't a big deal as the lobby area is big with lots of seating.
Review 117:Family of 4 from the US on a trip around the world for 1 year. We had a corner room (7) facing Aguille du Midi and Mt. Blanc. It was spacious, clean, had a great kitchen with dishwasher. Ample parking and Les Houches in the summer is awesome, as long as you have a car. We were walking distance to 3 groceries, including an organic one. Loved it.
Review 118:beds criecky and noisy
Review 119:Multi storey, self contained apartments good wifi excellent common area also for families (and rainy days) free bus/train transport to Chamonix central (ski lifts etc) common facilities of sauna, gym room close to super market and other shops (walking distance) Close to main road in and out friendly towns and good prices Wonderful views from this location good parking well equipped kitchenette
Review 120:Road noise constant throughout the night. Terrible location. No hot water for 6 days - inexcusable. after a full days skiing everyone needs a bath! Would not recommend to anyone. Far too noisy and staff too lax.
Review 121:Size of the rooms.
Review 122:The lack of hot water was a problem as we had very small children in the group. We booked a 6-8 chalet but when we got there we had received a 4-6 Chalet which was not big enough for our group of 8. We were offered a larger chalet or 2 smaller chalet and we decided to take the bigger chalet I asked if there would be an extra charge and we were told that it was their mistake and so there would be no extra charge. On leaving day, as compensation for the lack of hot water others in our group got a 10% discount free linen and no charge for cleaning the apartment. When it came to our checkout we were told that we would still have to pay for the linen as we had a bigger apartment! This we felt was not fair!
Review 123:I liked the very friendly and helpfull staff members and the cake on arrival was delicious. The apartments were tidy and comfortable with the area big enough to accommodate the large diverse group that we had. There was a problem with the hot water so we were given the option to go to a different hotel to access the showers.
Review 124:Apartment size: 4-6 adult apartment are too small for 6 people. It is actually for the family of four.
Review 125:Friendly and helpful owners. Good location. Close to shops and shuttle bus to ski slopes. Free travelling on the bus was very convenient.
Review 126:Large cleaning fee - and no real cleaning tools to do it yourself.Bit noisy from adjoining apts. The booking system - through Booking.com then a Paris agency. You cannot actually talk to the apt management directly unless Paris give you a number. No drying for ski boots, equipment.
Review 127:The staff were fabulous. Multilingual and very friendly. The tea and coffee available in the lounge was a bonus. Free wifi there too. Being able to order bread / pastries overnight.
