Reviews for La Maison du Peintre en Provence
Review 1:We spent great holidays in Provence for 2 weeks. The host of the Bed & Breakfast is very friendly, she makes good suggestions for sightseeing and dinner restaurants. The rooms were very nice and clean. Another highlight was the rich and lovely served breakfast in the garden of the house.
Review 2:For us the problem was that we couldn't check in until 5 o'clock - we had arrived at 2.30 by bike
Review 3:This is a really beautiful place. The fittings are of the highest quality and the decoration and furniture beautiful
Review 4:Hospitality was exceptional. Armelle was charming and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Breakfast was outstanding with home prepared treats each day. Recommended nearby restaurant was full of character, high quality and good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home.
Review 5:The host is wonderful, so friendly and makes huge effort. She maintains her guesthouse in such a wonderful condition. The restaurant she recommended just 20 meters up the street was absolutely wonderful, great value for money and genuine authentic French food, the best of beef and everything else. The house is immaculate and decorated to highest standards.
Review 6:parking can be a little dificult to get close by
Review 7:the lady who owns this property took the time to give us some wonderful extra information about the rest of our tour of the south of france and made our stay here a great experience this is a lovely property
Review 8:Armelle the owner was very welcoming. She is a painter and she has beautiful art in her house and her studio. Our room was spacious and our private bathroom was very nicely remodeled. Armelle was very helpful and drew us maps of what to see an where to go. Originally we had booked this place for three nights. However, the second day, while we were near Arles, our car was broken into and my purse was stolen. Unfortunately, because of this incident our trip to provence was cut short and we had to rush back to Paris to obtain my passport. Armelle was very supportive, and only charged us for two nights.
Review 9:Parking can be a problem in this very old village, with narrow, cramped streets.
Review 10:The owner is charming and is, in fact, a real live painter! Her taste is impeccable and the property has great cachet. The private bathroom was excellent and beautifully decorated, the breakfast good, and the price very reasonable.
Review 11:The owner's cats were a bit too present in the reception and stairwell for someone with a sensitive nose. But there was no trace of them in the room or the garden.
Review 12:Beautiful rooms, simple & elegant, in Provencal style, especially the bathrooms. There is a lovely little garden for enjoying a very ample breakfast. The owner, Ms. Andreis, is very warm and welcoming. The old town of Mallemort is picturesque and the B&B is twinned with a terrific local restaurant just up the hill. All in all, highly recommended.
Review 13:Located in small village, Very friendly and helpful host.
Review 14:Really friendly owner. Lovely house with character great breakfast
Review 15:Internet connection slow; no further amenities
Review 16:Great host; local, authentic place; quiet and peaceful.
Review 17:The art work that the hostess Armelle paints and her gallery. The breakfast in the garden was the best!
Review 18:Finding it wasn't easy, but it was well worth the trouble
Review 19:The beauty and comfort of the house
Review 20:You have to drive to get to the main sights but we enjoyed stating away from the tourists. Parking is a slight challenge and it's best if you can use GPS to get there because of all the one way streets.
Review 21:The room and house were beautiful, lovelier and more considered than any hotel we've stayed in. The room felt like a sanctuary hidden in an ancient village and was very restful. Armelle, the hostess, is fabulous and was incredibly helpful to us in offering ideas and referrals of things to see and places to go - all good suggestions. The breakfast spread was a work of art and delicious!
Review 22:Why rating La Maison du Peintre at 9, it should easily be 10+ My wife and I are frequent visitors of the area (2-3 times a year) and we decided that La Maison will be our "official" residence whenever we visit le provence. we both love Aramel, the owner of the place. she is so delightful.
Review 23:Difficulty finding a parking space close by, and not in a narrow lane. Very difficult to find anywhere to eat in the village - or outside for that matter, if coming out-of-season like us!
Review 24:A fascinating place, and a lovely hostess. Beautiful antique & new tableware, laid with an artist's touch. Everything fresh, clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.
Review 25:Stayed 3 nights and toiletries were neither enough nor renewed. Room was not cleaned, towels were not changed. While serving breakfast, hostess touched bread and croissants with her bear hands after having touched her two cats. Some dishes had cat hair on. Bad smell when entering the building and room. Not at all soundproof rooms (unlike clead indication in booking.com).
Review 26:Spacious, well-designed and recently renovated bathroom. Generous breakfast (in terms of quantity). Friendly hostess, made good suggestions for day trips (but practically only in French).
Review 27:After driving all day it's a pain to have to drive to the town for dinner. Way too far to walk and no taxi's
Review 28:Very Friendly couple, beautiful house.
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:The owner makes you feel at home the moment you enter & you get a true feeling of the Provencal lifestyle by staying in this lovely B&B.
Review 31:Absolutely loved our hostess. She drew maps for us that helped us explore the area in a great way. Loved the home, and the breakfast. We even took an art lesson with Armelle. Will definitely come back :)
Review 32:Location was poor in a tiny street which was difficult to find as it does not even look like a hotel from the outside.
Review 33:Spotlessly clean with one person owning and running the establishment. Very friendly and accomodating.
Review 34:Owner is more than helpful and friendly. No need for map coz she will draw and explain EVERYTHING you have to visit. She also recommended a great restaurant and made a reservation for us. Location is very good as you can drive around as the most beautiful Provence villages are very close. Breakfast great. Rooms are charming and beautiful. Parking not a problem.
Review 35:We totally enjoyed everything about our stay. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful, and the staff was great. We would totallyrecommend this hotel and we will stay there again if we are able to.
Review 36:Armelle Andreis was a gracious, helpful, entertaining host. We now claim her as a friend and hope to host her in New York some day. She drew maps, made suggestions for side trips, fed us we'll and made us laugh. The house is filled with beautiful antiques, comfortable beds, and wonderful paintings that she painted!
Review 37:The owner made me feel very welcome in her lovely home and went out of her way to be helpful. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished and equipped. The artwork throughout the house was fabulous
