Reviews for Izan Trujillo
Review 1:Nothing!
Review 2:Wonderful hotel in an old monastery. Clean, nicely decorated and with extremely kind staff. Quiet rooms with all the comforts you need. Abundant and various breakfast. The restaurant offers good deals and the food is good.
Review 3:Being from the UK and loving my tea, would have liked tea making facilities in the room. Saw from other reviews that this wasn't possible, so packed accordingly!
Review 4:Beautiful accommodation in a pretty town. Free on street car parking easy to come by and well positioned for the main square. Breakfasts were excellent.
Review 5:We liked everything about this place!
Review 6:Staff very courteous and helpful, beautiful convent turned hotel, spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, nice restaurant with delicious food!
Review 7:Breakfast was not to expectation . Too industrial , bread and croissant not fresh .. we just took the coffee which , fortunately was good (nesspresso)
Review 8:Lovely room very large , quiet , we really enjoyed this superb hotel !
Review 9:Car parking tricky for standard size sedan as access awkward and spaces narrow. Two short flights of steps to loft room could be difficult if mobility impaired.
Review 10:Easy to find and location is 5mins off the highway. Tasteful furnishings make it feel quite grand and in keeping with the architecture. Pleasant 10 min uphill walk to old town centre.
Review 11:The price of the parking is a bit too high for this area, although we did use it as we had all our camping gear with us so wanted the security.
Review 12:The hotel was lovely. We had a room in the old convent, perfect! Nice pool area although a bar or wait service in the heat would not go amiss!!! I requested some lettuce at breakfast and it arrived without any trouble. Asked for a bucket of ice for the room and the front desk clerk went and got it for us. Amazing service!!!
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:The hotel room was huge and well set out - a real joy. The courtyard area was a great place to sit and have drinks in the evening. The hotel was just a short walk from the main square and castle so ideal to get way from it when ready.
Review 17:Room/bed was a bit hot. A/C was used, however, bedding material was not 100% cotton which we prefer.
Review 18:The Izan is a beautifully restored Convent, very comfortable and peaceful. Only 6 mins from Plaza Mayor
Review 19:Spanish only speaking staff at the Recepcion!!!!!! And that in a 4 star international hotel!
Review 20:the building itself (with fresco's on the walls!!), the facilities, the room, breakfast
Review 21:For the price and category it should be maintained a little better. Our shower leaked through the shower door onto the floor. A lot.
Review 22:Location. Rooms are spacious. Reasonable breakfast spread. Good coffee.
Review 23:The decor in the bathroom was a bit dated and overbearing.
Review 24:Full of character with an attractive design and layout of the big internal courtyard at ground and first floor levels. Spacious rooms and a good breakfast in a large and pleasant dining room. Definitely worth staying at if you visit the historic town of Trujillo.
Review 25:Booking a Double Bed, not available, so upgraded to a Superior Room, but still TWIN BEDS. What is wrong with hotels, that don't expect people (married 35 years in our case) to sleep together? If you book a Double Beds, they should have Double Beds available!
Review 26:The location was ideal, just a short walk from all of the important sights, bars & restaurants. Great, safe, easy underground parking. Helpful staff. Good breakfast, with plenty of variety. Weird Toaster, which is really only a hot plate that takes ages to brown your bread. It will dry out before going brown - please get a real toaster. Gorgeous room, with beautiful classical features and comfortable beds (twin, not double). This is a fantastic hotel, that would be perfect if they had double beds available.
Review 27:On the edge of the old city, it's easy to get up to and park while still being close enough to the main square to walk there in <5 minutes. Great WiFi. Good shower. Comfortable bed.
Review 28:Great hotel in a restored monastery preserves many original features. Secure underground parking and a short stroll from the centre of this historic, charming and unspoiled city.
Review 29:would have preferred evening meal a little earlier, but this is Spain, so it isn't really something we disliked
Review 30:lovely old building, friendly, helpful staff, easy access - unlike lots of the other Trujillo hotels which were difficult to access. Quiet situation.
Review 31:Parking in the surrounding streets can be a bit difficult.
Review 32:A great hotel in a refurbished old monastery, close to all sighs in Trujillo. This place offers the same quality as a Parador, at mucgh better prices. Great value for the money.
Review 33:We liked everything
Review 34:The historic building converted to a pleasant and comfortable hotel. Antique furnishings and small, but nice pool with sun loungers. Very comfortable bed and soundproof rooms. Just steps away from the beautiful Plaza Mayor. Staff very friendly.
Review 35:The hotel parking was difficult because of the number of pillars in thegarage. It was also expensive at 15 euros per day. However streetparking was virtually non-existent in the immediate area of the hotel.
Review 36:Good spacious, quiet room with decent bathroom. The public areas wereboth interesting and comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. Themain Trujillo square and historic areas were within easy reach of thehotel. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on thequality of the restaurant.
Review 37:Parking is available but can be difficult to find. The breakfast buffet somehow didn't live up to the quality of the rest of the property, but was nevertheless good value.
Review 38:The hotel is within an easy short walk to the centre of town, but has the facilities of a larger "out of town" property. The swimming pool was a welcome respite from the heat. The quality of the property, in a restored monastery, makes it an excellent value for money proposition.
Review 39:Very poor pricing strategy. We paid £95 the previous evening plus a similar amount for good food and wine. Why pitch low on room rate and charge outrageous prices for parking and for breakfast. At this hotel the food was poor quality, badly prepared and the wine was a disaster
Review 40:The room was good, the bathroom excellent. What a real shame, fantastic building in the centre of town but completely ruined by very poor quality in service, in general cleanliness and disasterous food and wine
Review 41:The rooms were a lite dark.
Review 42:The staff and location and the layout of the rooms.
Review 43:Old stylisch Hotel ! Staff was so friendly!
Review 44:Hotel very nice. Open space of courtyard was nice to spend time in. Trujillo is a lovely town.
Review 45:Excellent location just a short walk to the main Plaza. Beautiful decor and very quiet. I would go back tomorrow!
Review 46:Wifi did not work in room
Review 47:Great value for money
Review 48:Nothing particular
Review 49:Reception Staff
Review 50:Building itself has history and beautiful. But nothing uncomfortable.
Review 51:Everything particularly location
Review 52:THE ROOM WAS ELEGANTLY APPOINTED AND COMFORTABLE
Review 53:good hotel but bit expensive for the location
Review 54:Just close to highway
Review 55:Perfect place to explore Trujilo! Nice athmospehere in an old monestry (?), tight parking and exellent breakfast!
Review 56:Stayed here before and was very happy. This time the room was in the seperate building. As a result would not stay here again .
Review 57:nothing at all
Review 58:this hotel is outstanding, what a gem.
Review 59:Poor WiFi. High parking charges when, in fact, there's plenty of free on-street parking right outside hotel.
Review 60:Comfortable and clean. Good location.
Review 61:The hotel was very comfortable and charming
Review 62:Lovely bedroom and beautiful hotel. Great value.
Review 63:swimming pool out of action
Review 64:Location
Review 65:We had a fresco on the wall in our bedroom this last time we were there
Review 66:* Luxury rooms * Hotel parking * great dinners and wines. * Interesting historic building
Review 67:Well situated hotel in a delightful town. Stylish bar area. Good value for money
Review 68:Unfriendly personnel at breakfast and in the restaurant
Review 69:Room
Review 70:Parking could be a problem, but we were lucky:found a public free parking lot almost opposite to the hotel entrance
Review 71:Interesting old fabulous building
Review 72:The neo-classical decor in the bedroom and the sympathetic restoration of the whole building
Review 73:No 'just coffee' for breakfast but a great cafe opposite.
Review 74:Great rooms and close to town.
Review 75:Wonderfully atmospheric, very well appointed.
Review 76:Only one small window in the room facing the interior patio, so no daylight at all.
Review 77:Beautiful, neat and very comfort.
Review 78:The character of the converted monastery and the detail quality of the rooms and services
Review 79:Noise between rooms
Review 80:Very close to Plaza Mayor. Lovely interiors on an rebuilt building.
Review 81:No AC in public areas
Review 82:Huge bed, nice toillet, nice staff
Review 83:Surprisingly well restored cloister in good location just 10 min away from historic city. Hotel facilities and services are excellent.
Review 84:the poor knowledge off language by the staff
Review 85:the big rooms
Review 86:Not really any dislikes but tea/coffee making facilities in the room would make this hotel just perfect.
Review 87:Great atmosphere, the hotel had been preserved very well with the room around the old cloisters. The food was very good and the Menue of the Day was excellent and very good value at €10.95. The hotel is well situated being jusr 10 mins slow walk to the town centre, Plaza Mayor. Although parking was available at a cost we found free public parking each evening within a few metres of the hotel.
Review 88:The decor was some pseudo-roman kitsch, fake gold with columns andangels. A smile on the receptionist's girl never materialized (dothey maltreat their staff?). Do not recommend the fixed menu for lunchin the convent -you only get heated food from a can. Maybe if you atleast have some view from the window the experience is better. I'dsay it was an impersonal stay.
Review 89:The convent has some charm and the interior patio is beautiful. The roomis clean enough for a 4 star. Yet the stay was not anything special, just good, try other options within the old town.
Review 90:The bar closed at midnight on a Saturday
Review 91:The staff were absolutely charming, very helpfu and friendly. The air conditioning switch operated the TV, the night light was black and it was easy to find the bathroom in the dark!!
Review 92:This hotel was a total turnoff when I found in my room five cockroaches(one inch and half long). When I complained to the hotel manager, shementioned to me that they were trying to resolve this infestation and arat problem as well. This hotel should be removed from your list forhealth reason as rodent and roaches are vectors for serious thicknesses. This hotel should be closed; sanitary authorities should inspect itbefore letting any new customer in.
Review 93:Restaurant service
Review 94:The size of the room

Review 97:the outstanding building, a pool open until 10pm, service, location, easy parking, faultless

Review 99:Cama muy confortable Desayuno Localización
Review 100:Picina and the interior. In addition, it was very quiet.
Review 101:A delightful room in a hotel full of character. The breakfast was of a high standard.
Review 102:The hotel is an old monastery, well rebuilt. The Clauster. The town of Trujillo is very interesting and well preserved. Worth visiting

Review 104:There was nothing not to like
Review 105:Good location, atmospheric traditional spanish style, super-friendlystaff. Great rooms. Perfect place to stay.
