Reviews for Chalet de Pascaline

Review 1:A small but clean and comfortable room in a chalet with a direct view of the Mont Blanc, a rich and tasty breakfast and, last but not least, a very friendly and caring owner.

Review 2:Pascaline is a lovely host. She was there for us when we needed her and gave us lots of advice for the TMB. Her breakfast is lovely and the location is superb in the shadow of the glacier.

Review 3:Wasn't really an issue but if we HAD to find something on the negative side, room a little cluttered which, being small anyway, made it hard to deal with all our luggage.

Review 4:Mme Pascaline was wonderful. Kind, helpful, fun and informative. We also loved her breakfasts!

Review 5:The hostess or booking room cancelled our reservation, I saw it buy chance. Didn't have the time and conditions to look for other accommodation so booked it again. When arriving I found my credit card had been charged for the 2 nights the same hour I booked the second time . Maybe I wanted to pay in cash? to divide the sum, another credit card? I usually book with the possibility to pay at the accommodation - this was supposed to be the case. These 2 incidents shouldn't have occurred. A bad start that made me want to leave but how could I now? After that Pascaline was O.K. The red room, twin bed is the smallest. no desk and chair in the room. Another problem - the towels were not changed the second day .

Review 6:The bed, the lovely Scented cotton linen, thin even pillow - exactly how I like it. The decoration of the room, breakfast, bathroom . The possibility of closing the balcony door with a wooden door so air can come in.

Review 7:On our way from the airport we had a car accident with a track. Took us time to fill all the papers , and because of the rain and the fog we arrived a little bit late. The welcome of the lady was terrible. She yelled on us and behaved like we were criminals. When we asked her for a help the following morning she said " I just need to give you breakfast and nothing more". We are 69 years old and travel a lot. Never had such a bad experience. We are worning you guys - don't even get close to this place.

Review 8:We liked the minute that we left this place.

Review 9:The bathroom is a little tight. There is only one window/door so we have to keep the door open to let the fresh air in (but we felt quite safe doing so because the house is in a quiet residential area).

Review 10:The room is quite comfortable. The French window (which also serves as the door to the outdoors) is the highlight. The host is a friendly lady and the breakfast is satisfying.

Review 11:No complaints

Review 12:Owner very helpful with advice on the Tour du Mont Blanc. Very kind in giving me fruit as I did not want the usual breakfast. Kindly let me leave my rucksack on the premises pre checking in time so that I could enjoy the day unencumbered by a rucksack.

Review 13:Even though there is no window in room, the air ventilation is not bad if the door is not kept completely shut.

Review 14:A quiet and convenient place with a glacier view and Aiguille du Mid in sighti! Nice and friendly owner! Breakfast delicious and excellent.

Review 15:Awesome breakfast! Best view of the mountains (I have never eaten in front of such amazing view before), Free WiFi. We felt free to ask the owner any questions regarding your stay and your trip. Only 10 minutes from Chamoinx center by bus (line #1).

Review 16:Breakfast is delicious, And pascaline is very helpful And friendly. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Nice view on the Mountains from the balcony during breakfast.

Review 17:The chalet was situated in a quiet location, 5 minutes walk from the main road where a bus and train ran from (these were free with the hotel card) up and down the chamonix valley. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and did a lovely breakfast

Review 18:No windows, had to open the door to the street for the night, not the safest option... Strange and a bit dangerous bed.

Review 19:A friendly hostess, all nesesarry in the room, even fridge, parking place, good breakfast.

Review 20:We liked everything, but some people may find the bedrooms and bathrooms a little small. We found them to be comfortable and enjoyed the experience of staying in a chalet, ladder-like staircase (to breakfast area) and all.

Review 21:Pascaline is a great host, we had an amazing and bountiful homemade continental breakfast and a fun conversation. The location is nice, a short walk from the Taconnaz stop of the free Chamonix shuttle bus and it is about a 1km walk to Les Houches on a trail. The views are incredible on a clear day.

Review 22:Everything is perfect! It would be even better if there is a hairdryer in the room.

Review 23:The place is so lovely and cozy! Me and my mom loves a lot! The owner is so friendly and hospitable! I really appreciate everything! Hope I can visit Chamonix and stay there again! Merci beaucoup! :)

Review 24:The rain...

Review 25:Pascaline is a bubbly lady with enthusiasm about the mountains, hiking and food. This place is extremely pretty with local decorations and a cosy atmosphere. She has a delicious breakfast, including freshly baked crepes! We had a kettle with coffee, etc. in our own bedroom. Mountains all around you!

Review 26:Pascaline is a wonderful, warm, welcoming and knowledgeable host. The breakfast had lots of homemade jams, yoghurt and more. Lovely stay, will definitely be back!

Review 27:Though the location is not perfect, the others do the job instead. Cozy, clean and fabulous room in a well-decorated and well-taken care of fairy tale alike house. The landlady Pascaline is very thoughtful, friendly, fluently in English. I have never met any one who is more responsible and delicate to do the jobs as she does. It's also very interesting to speak to her. Pascaline even gave me an interesting medicine to drink while catching a bad cold. I had such a memorable time there! If you stay there, make sure to ask Pascaline about a Vietnamese girl named Emily, who drank her interesting medicine and whom was taken to her friend's restaurant for Fondue! Pascaline, if you are reading this, Thanknyou very much x Highly recommend the place!

Review 28:The walk is uphill from the station (owner will pickup if required). Room is a bit on the small size with limited space to access and store suitcases in the room.

Review 29:Made to feel welcome. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Quiet. Quality & quantity of breakfast. 10 minute walk from railway station. 15 minute walk to grocery shop. 5 minute walk to a restaurant. Owner has walked extensively in the Alps and was happy to share knowledge. Was able to store suitcases there prior to a week long trek (Also stayed there after trek).

Review 30:Most friendly place we stayed at during 6 weeks travelling in Europe. Ten minutes walk from the local railway station and shop. Guest pass for free local train/bus travel. Quite and clean unit - tea/coffee making facility in room.

Review 31:Cracking B&B in the alps at the foot of Mont Blanc. We were travelling through from Italy to the uk and this was a perfect stop off for us. If we were in the area for longer, we would have been more than happy to stay longer. Pasceline the host was wonderfully hospitable and made us fee very welcome and conversed very well in English which helped find a nice restaurant to eat at. Breakfast was great...awesome jams! A must stay.

Review 32:Pascaline is a perfect hostess and is the most helpful hotelier you could meet. nothing is too much trouble. Great room, quiet location and the best breakfast view ever!

Review 33:Our third visit. Pascaline continues to run a fabulous little chalet. Wonderful breakfast and nice and warm despite the cold weather outside.

Review 34:Great atmosphere. Very welcoming, excellent breakfast!

Review 35:Breakfast was awesome and the views from the terrace were phenomenal :)

Review 36:Wifi was out, which was annoying but was getting fixed. Not her fault.

Review 37:The breakfast was amazing!

Review 38:Breakfast on the deck, beautiful views and fantastic home baked bread and cakes!

Review 39:Owner is very nice and gave me some useful advises for TMB.

Review 40:A very warm welcome on arrivall, an excellent breakfast and a wonderful location at the foot of Mont Blanc.

Review 41:Accomodation perfect, clean and tasteful, breakfast tasty. Its 10 min by car to slopes.

Review 42:Friendliness, comfort & hospitality was outstanding.

Review 43:Pascaline is a lovely host. Room super warm and comfy. Breakfast excellent.

Review 44:Everything was perfect!

Review 45:We loved our stay at Pascaline's chalet! It was beautiful, perfect, hospitable, and comfortable. We will stay again!

Review 46:Pascaline is incredibly helpful and kind. Lovely breakfast and individual rooms.

Review 47:is it too far from to the city center

Review 48:very good hostess quiet area

Review 49:were not able to stay longer!

Review 50:wonderful scenic location, comfortable and clean room, nice helpful owner, excellent breakfast. Great value.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:The wonderful hostess, the location at the foot of Mont Blanc, the alpine style, and excellent breakfasts

Review 53:Beautiful view of the Alps. Clean and comfortable rooms. Gracious and helpful host. Bountiful breakfast included. Chalet Pascaline was delightful in every way!

Review 54:Lovely place and very welcoming. The breakfast table looked wonderful in the morning. Nice and friendly. Help in the morning digging my car out of the snow.

Review 55:Mrs Pascaline is the perfect host! Very comfortable bed, nice character decoration, loved spending a couple of nights there, had i known how nice it was I would have spent more nights. Also plenty of room for storage at the wardrobe, convenient parking. Mrs Pascaline will assist you finding anything, she makes her own jams, yogurt, cakes and you can try those at breakfast! Awesome value. I will most definitely come back to visit Mrs Pascaline some day.

Review 56:Nothing. We loved the place.

Review 57:We enjoyed everything about the place. Pascaline is lovely, she made us feel welcome immediately upon our arrival and although the accommodation is on the small side, it is warm and homely. Her breakfasts are wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay. What a great place. Hopefully we can come back again and stay. There is a bus stop nearby, but we did not use it as we had a hire car which I think is better for getting round the Chamonix valley if you aim to do different ski areas each day. It took 25 minutes drive on leaving our Chalet to reach the first ski lift through the Mont Blanc tunnel one day to ski in Courmayeur if anyone fancies it. Well worth it and it is included on your Mont Blanc unlimited pass if purchased. The drive from Geneva airport took us under an hour and it is an easy journey. Thanks once again Pascaline. x

Review 58:This was our second stay at Chalet de Pascaline, and definitely not the last one! Cosy and comfortable rooms, incredible breakfast (homemade jams, French cheeses, pancakes...), peaceful location (yet close to everything) and above all the most helpful and lovely hostess Pascaline - all this made our holiday perfect!

Review 59:Chalet de Pascaline- it was the perfect holiday. The room is very good, with very comfy bed to take your dream after the long and amasing day. The breakfast is continental and delicious, if there isn't clouds in the sky you may take pleasure of the incredible view of the mountains!! Pascaline is one very warmth and good person, with who can talk about everything and not only the region. Thank you again. Wait for us :)

Review 60:Madame Pascaline is so nice, and the room is perfect! I cannot love it any more! I will certainly choose this chalet again if I go to Chamonix next time.

Review 61:The chalet is not really a chalet. Indeed is a room at the basement of Mrs Pascaline chalet, without windows. The amenities does not works properly, ( what do you thing having only cable TV with the channels in french), if you open the room door you get directly in to the street, the room is to low ( I doubt if it is able to accommodate a man with more than 1,90 mts tall comfortably). In the bed room, doesn't exist enough electricity plugs, there are cables crossing in room, putting yourself in risk, if you decide to go to the bathroom at night; In the bathroom you can find a refrigerator and a laundry machine, separating from the rest of the bathroom only by a curtain. The room cleaness is not in the level that do you expect. So definitely we didn't enjoy ours stay there. We suppose to stay two days, but we decided to leave one day early. Definitely the chalet doesn't worth 100 euros a day.

Review 62:The owner is really a very helpful person. She try to make your life easy, giving several tips to you regarding the best things to do in Chamonix area. The view from the chalet is very pretty.

Review 63:Poor isolation of the rooms. It's a little difficult to find the location without GPS(and coordinates).

Review 64:Very nice view of Aiguille du Midi. A quiet place and a Pascaline ready to help you, to assure better conditions and to guide you for the best solutions.

Review 65:Pascaline is warm, friendly and she is genuinely happy to meet and help people. She made us feel really welcomed! The room is cozy, very clean and very comfortable. Wifi connection is stable and fast. The booking includes a fantastic, and very generous, home-made breakfast (usually served on her balcony with mountain view in summer). Pascaline also constantly offered us food and snacks.

Review 66:Very homely and quiet in a stunning location. Wonderful breakfast with large choice served on the terrace by Pascaline herself who was very friendly, amusing and helpful and spoke very good English. Unmatchable views from the terrace of the glaciers. Room not large but very clean and well equiped, kettle, tea and coffee etc. Good sized very clean bathroom. Good wifi connection. Had only booked for one night but we would love to be able to return one day soon.

Review 67:Leaving... And not being able to find as good accommodation & people anywhere else.

Review 68:Pascaline - she is the best! Also the view, food and rooms are all perfect. She truely deserves her 9+ score on Booking.com.

Review 69:Very, very good place for relax after busy days. Breakfast of Pascalineis very tasty. You feel like at home. 300-400 meters to good frenchrestaurant from the hotel.

Review 70:Pascaline is a warm and entertaining hostess. She told us everything we needed to know about the local area and nothing was too much trouble. She even lent us skiing pants, gloves and beanies! The breakfast was superb and varied, and Pascaline even cooked us a delicious dinner one evening. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the house has a cozy chalet style. We loved our stay and hope to return!

Review 71:I enjoyed everything, but I guess it's the kind of place to stay ifyou are travelling by car. I don't know if we could manage to gothere by bus...

Review 72:Such an incredible place, situated in a valley surrounded by mountains.Pascaline was the best host ever, being nice to us all the time. Sheeven put a breakfast table outside so we could enjoy the sunny weatherand the mountain view while eating the delicious things she hasprepared. I fully recomend it.

Review 73:Cozy room, very clean, very hot shower, location is good, really excellent breakfast, wifi was quick, friendly, welcoming and helpful host. We'll definitely return for some more skiing!

Review 74:Everything was perfect and we were completely satisfied with our stay! But the floors can be a bit cold in the cold wintertime, so bring warmsocks with you! :)

Review 75:Our room was very comfy and cosy, with a beautiful decor, and the bedwas very good. The location of the place was excellent, and with ourrental car we could drive to several ski lifts in 15-30 minutes.Pascaline, the owner, was incredidly friendly and helpful, and it feltas if we were visiting an old friend - or more: we really felt at home! The breakfast was excellent, with delicious homemade jams, pancakes, croissants and French baguette. We will definitely stay at ChaletPascaline next time when we come to Chamonix!

Review 76:We went by car so it was not a problem, but if you reach there by public transportation be aware that going from Les Houches where the chalet is located to Chamonix requires you to know previously the available options.

Review 77:If you going to Chamonix you have to consider staying here. The bedrooms are very cozy and charming (you can find coffe, tea, hot water and some snacks available in your bedroom) and bathroom has a very good shower where you can have a hot water massage. However, the outstanding point here is the extremely lovely and helpful Mdme. Pascaline. She gives you all information you need in terms of restaurants, pubs, trackings, ski stations, etc. and goes further with some nice stories about the regions, the village the mountains. Having the delicious breakfast in her company is something you cannot miss.

Review 78:Leaving!

Review 79:Pascaline our hostess! Friendly, helpful and great company. A lovely chalet, so warm, comfortable and well decorated. Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend.

Review 80:We stayed for 1 night only, but were able to feel the warm and friendly atmosphere of traditional alpine chalet. The house was cozy and silent, with fantastic view; the room was very comfortable, with its owner character. The breakfast was very delicious with grand choice. Hostess is very friendly woman, well-informed about everything in mountains. She is so welcome and interesting person, so the chat with her is a good entertainment )

Review 81:Chalet de Pascaline offered a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Perfectly situated on a quiet road outside of the village centre yet close enough to everything the valley has to offer. Hospitality was second to none! Pascaline was very informative about the mountains and all the activities available. The breakfast offered was fantastic with a wonderful selection to choose from. With such a lovely hostess welcome it would have been very easy to just spend the entire day in the chalet visiting and talking. We will, without a doubt, return to Chalet de Pascaline!

Review 82:The location is quit a distance from Chamonix town but accessible via bus. Dont arrive at late night if you reach by bus. Some uphil 5 mins walking required from main access road.

Review 83:House with fantastic view. Owner of hotel is very friendly and breakfast is fantastic as well.

Review 84:Rooms were very small.

Review 85:B&B chalet was small - 3 rooms only and the rooms were quite small but cosy and sweetly decorated. Host was very nice. Chalet was a 5 minute drive to / from Chamonix. Price was very reasonable,

Review 86:A little far from the center - so if you're hiking you may need to take a bus (which is free)

Review 87:Lovely owner who was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there very much!

Review 88:There was a slight noise from the electrical board in the room ( there had been a problem the day before) but I'm sure this will have been sorted

Review 89:Pascaline was warm, friendly and very welcoming. The bedroom was very comfortable and is bigger than it looks in the photos ( beige room). Quirky design but would recommend it for a relaxing stay. The power shower was great and spacious.

Review 90:We stayed for 1 night while doing TMB , fantastic place and very helpful owner , chalet with character , excellen breakfast !!! Thanku very much Pascaline !!!

Review 91:Pascaline couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome; she treated us like family. She has good local knowledge and is always willing to help. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There is more breakfast than you should really eat, but you eat it anyway!!

Review 92:The location was a bit away from Chamonix but since we had a car that was not a problem.

Review 93:Pascaline is very hospitable and and friendly. The breakfast was very good.

Review 94:Rustic and Charming! From the first Bonjour greeting in the evening on our first day, the warm welcome and kind hospitality never ended. Pascaline was one of the nicest people we've ever met on our travels. Breakfasts were wonderful, local knowledge informative and going the extra mile was never an issue. Many offers of transporting us around were made and the unexpected invitation to fondue and raclette on the last evening was a new experience. We have no negative comments to make about Pascaline or her wonderful chalet. We would visit again without hesitation. The local area is fantastic for skiing and the views from the chalet were beautiful. Excellent shopping can be found in Chamonix, the local free ski bus was very frequent, travelling between Les Houches and Chamonix.

Review 95:It was a bit cold in the room and it is not very large. We were without luggage, but there is a lot of space outside the room to keep bags and ski ammunition. The other areas except Les Houches are too far for going every day on the public transport. You need to walk from the stops about 5-10 minutes up-hill to chalet. There is not any entertaiment near.

Review 96:Hostess is very friendly and kind woman. The room was very nice and cosy, it looks like a traditional alpine chalet in our imagination. The home breakfast is very delicious. Very silent place for leisure. Bus stop and train station are enough near and Les Houches ski area is very close too. Best wishes for Ms Pascaline and I sure, if we came again to Chamonix especially in summer and by car, we would choose Chalet de Pascaline. Perfect place for family or lovers.

Review 97:My husband Iand I stayed one night during a brief trip for skiing. Theroom was clean and comfortable. A real Bed and Breakfast experience. The breakfast was delicious and the hostess/owner was so kind andpleasant. I would definately go back. And way less expensive thenhotels in the area.

Review 98:If you're there to ski - a bit of a walk to the bus stop. Not a problemif you have a car, but a bit far to walk with ski boots on if you don'T.

Review 99:Very cozy chalet, very tasty home-made breakfast, and a beautiful view. The host was attentive to any requests, the house was very clean andnicely-decorated, and all amenities in full function. It was great, too, to stay and be able to have a chat every morning with the ownerabout the area, the life and culture of the French Alps, etc. Greatexperience overall.

Review 100:This cozy little guest house is perfect for anybody who seeks privacy, lovely views, delicious homemade meals and fantastic, worm and helpfullowner. Mrs Pascaline is a positive and always smiling person and willfind a solution to everything. For people who want to be close to slopesand lifts we must say that it is not too far away but it is nessecary tohave a car. Ski buses are never on time and there is only few of them.We recomend this chalet to everybody!! :)))

Review 101:It was so cold in the room that we were totally freezing and it was not colder than -5C outside! Room is tiny and so is the bathroom, there is no place to dry your clothes or put your skis. We stayed one night and in the morning after breakfast we were packing skis in the car when the owner came shouting to us that we have to pay.. That was so unrude that I cannot even imagine something like that to happen. Did she really think that we would have just disappeared? Unbelievable. If she is so worried why not ask for payment at arrival, would be much nicer. I would not stay again.

Review 102:Nice view to the mountains, cosy room (but freezing cold!!!), good bed.

Review 103:The quiet location and information available from the owner.

Review 104:Rather cold in the rooms upon arrival

Review 105:Very friendly host. Superb breakfast

Review 106:very thing

Review 107:The host was great! She served a great breakfast and enjoyed visiting with guests. She was great!

Review 108:Fantastic hospitality.
