Reviews for Sweet Hotel Continental

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Great central clean surprisingly quiet for its location which was close to shops museums metros and the station. Really kind and helpfull staff. A gem of a terrace . Great value place

Review 3:Our double room was bit small, tight in space, with furniture a bit forced in such a space. Bathroom items very uncomfortably set up and shower in general a bit over used.

Review 4:Staff was very welcoming, flexible and helpful with advises, making the entire stay very enjoyable. Room wifi and other devices worked well. Perfect location in the city centre, close to stores, places to eat and transportation.

Review 5:We didn't get an early check-in and had to put our luggage downstairs to a limited space where the lift does not go to.

Review 6:Most of the reception staff speak English fluently. They look at you when serving you. Always give excellent advice!

Review 7:Breakfast is only served from 7.30 onwards, which is quite late. There was no lock on the bathroom door and there were only 3 power outlets in a room for 3 people. Considering that most travellers bring their phones and cameras, not to mention laptops and/or tablets, thats wáy too little.

Review 8:The roof terrace is gorgeous, the entire hotel has been renovated very recently and looks great, two pillows per bed was a luxury not often found in 2* hotels, room was clean, the location couldn't be better and staff was very knowledgeable and helpful

Review 9:The bathroom door couldn't close completely and also you can easily hear almost everything.

Review 10:The location, the breakfast, the staff, and almost everything else :)

Review 11:Room for 3 is quite small. Wifi was not working.

Review 12:Perfect location to visit the city centre. Bus stop in front of the hotel to get to the "Art and science city", metro and train station in two minutes walking to get to the airport. Room was basic but clean. Breakfast is fair, however there are many bars nearby.

Review 13:The internet only worked a few minutes then lost connection. It was difficult to get a signal for any length of time. Apart from this the hotel is great...

Review 14:I could not switch off the slightly noisy heating.

Review 15:Its location is ideal, only 100m from the wonderful central square. The apartment is rather spacious and well equipped. With pre-reservation I paid only 38 Euro. Top in its category.

Review 16:A power issue and hot water issue, which were resolved

Review 17:Excellent location, close to the North Station and the main square, handy for local places to eat and drink. Clean and comfortable rooms, ideal place to base yourself.

Review 18:There was no hot water on one of the mornings we were there. It was a bit difficult to find even with their instructions. Walls very thin.

Review 19:The locationonce we had found it is good close to the main historic sites and bars/cafes. I liked the breakfast, the bread was always very fresh and varied.

Review 20:Not allot of facilities. Corridors could be noisy at times.

Review 21:The room was very clean, nice and comfortable. The staff at reception were also very helpful and nothing was a hassle for them. Great location in valencia as well.

Review 22:Guests watching television late at night with volume too high which was a bit disconcerting when trying to sleep.

Review 23:The location of hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but what we expected.

Review 24:Thin wall (much noise), old (scary) elevator, bathroom and forniture really minimal and old.

Review 25:The location is the best, right in the center! The bed was really comfortable.

Review 26:The night reception who checked us in told us that despite breakfast being excluded in our room, we can just help ourselves next day. He gave us the impression that it will be free. He didn't say any price. So we were surprised to get a bill next day from another receptionist who checked us out - at 7€/person, which I also find expensive (there were not even eggs in the buffet) especially the hotel was surrounded by restaurants offering a complete breakfast or 2-course meal for less - between 2-6€. We were poorly informed and paid for their non/misinformation.

Review 27:Small room and bathroom

Review 28:Good location, close to metro stations Xàtiva and Colon (400-450m) and not to far from Mercat Central and Plaça de la Reina & Verge (600-900m).

Review 29:The bathroom and shower are rather cramped - but adequate for a short stay. Nothing else.

Review 30:The room rate was very good value. The rooms were nice and clean and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The roof terrace is particularly nice to get together with the friends I was travelling at the end of the day. The location in the city is perfect and allowed us to visit all the sites on foot with close by Metro stations.

Review 31:Very thin walls. If you get a noisy neighbour you will hear everything. No facilities. Not even a vending machine. Rooms were very basic and no attempts have been made at decoration. They look like student dorms - plain white walls, and furniture is very cheap.

Review 32:Location was great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 33:Noisy room. You can hear the water running of showers and toilets of other rooms. The room had no daylight. It was September and the airco was already in winter mode (didn't work at night).

Review 34:All necessary facilities in the room. Perfectly located in city center.

Review 35:Nothing much. Breakfast was a bit minimal.

Review 36:Excellent modernized hotel in a great location, with secure garage parking nearby. Very close to Valencia city centre, walking distance to main sights.

Review 37:The room was not very clean. There were so much noise in the room. The door was not soundproof and moved with every small act of other rooms.

Review 38:Location is very good.

Review 39:The walls are thin, you could hear everything from neighbours above and next door. The single room was OK but quite small.

Review 40:Good location, close to metro, shops...

Review 41:Toilet space was too small and narrow that we banged into the sink. Not enough space to move inside toilet.

Review 42:The front desk staff, Mike was very helpful and kind. He assisted with most of our queries and tried his best to help eventhough he is not familiar. A thumbs up for his excellent customer service.

Review 43:Room is small with the basic necessities. Rooftop is unimpressive.

Review 44:Staff was attentive and location is excellent, 2 blocks from central plaza and 5 from train station. City Information on main plaza is difficult and transport system a bit complicated.

Review 45:We sat on the rooftop one day for 30minutes, but no one came. A lot of noise coming from the hallway, wasn't that disturbing.

Review 46:Location coild not be better, really! Safe, clean area. Amazing and very comfortable bed. Clean room, great staff, fast internet in all the rooms. Great bakery next door. Will 100% stay here the next time I visit Valencia.

Review 47:Nothing.

Review 48:We liked everything about this hotel. The location is perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Review 49:Parking at streets is impossible and parking in garage is very expensive - 25 EUR for 10 hours.

Review 50:Nice location near the citycenter and supermarkets. Clean and comfortable. Staff can speak english, which is not a matter of course in Spain.

Review 51:Breakfast not included.

Review 52:The hotel has been remodeled, it's very clean and it looks as new. Very nice place, very nice staff. Clean, quiet. WiFi in the rooms worked very well. The terrace upstairs is beautiful, great views and very nice staff up there too. Excellent location.

Review 53:Our hotel experience just enhanced our whole trip in Valencia. The staff were absolutely wonderful and so willing to help two young Australians find their way around a new city. The room was amazing for the cheap price we paid. We really couldn't have asked for more.

Review 54:The horrible view to the dirty backyard from the window, the poor breakfast and the yellow spots on the towels.

Review 55:The staff was friendly and provided a good information about all what we asked. The location is perfect. That' s it.

Review 56:Bed a little uncomfortable and room to room very noisy at night. Soundproofing not good.

Review 57:Bright clean rooms with good aircon. 5mins walk from main station and all the sights. Staff fantastic. Noellia especially very helpful and sweet.

Review 58:The staff were fantastic. On arrival we were given detailed information about the area and where was best to go, couldn't have been more helpful Rooftop bar is worth a visit of the views over the city

Review 59:There was no safe and mini bar in room, although maybe one shouldn't expect them in a 2 stars hotel. The room was very small. The prices at the terrace on the roof are very high. The suggested by the girl at reception place to eat paella was not the best one - paella was too salty, the service was too slowly, the price was high.

Review 60:Location is perfect, the people at reception are very willing to help. The price is very nice. The breakfast contained products of good quality.

Review 61:Put in a room at back of hotel, there seemed to be a generator on all night, kept us a wake, usually had a room at front of hotel, breakfast very poor quality this time. Would not pay for breakfast again here.

Review 62:Location, close to everything

Review 63:We took the room on the fourth floor, and it turns a bit noisy from the partying on the rooftop... but this is entirely our fault, because we had requested for a top floor. Had we not, probably we would have had a peaceful stay.

Review 64:Friendly staff, who gave us valuable tips on what to see, and what not to.

Review 65:Staff immediately changed twin beds into one, very helpful desk manager. Close to market & shops so ideal position which was main reason for our choice.

Review 66:This is a fantastic hotel that is in a great location steps away from the main square and minutes away from the main attractions. The staff were great and I received a really warm welcome.

Review 67:It can be a bit noisy

Review 68:Clean and comfortable rooms, airco and flatscreen TV. Rooms were cleaned every day. It is possible to rent bikes at the reception and the service was great! The rooftop terrace was beautifull!

Review 69:The bidet located in an awkward place that needed contortions to be used. Walls are thin and noise travels between rooms, but honestly it was not a big deal at all.

Review 70:Perfect location at an affordable price. Near the metro to/from the airport, all bus lines that go to interesting places pass nearby. Walking distance (5 mins) from the posh shopping area, the food area and the historical city center. Staff is very friendly and helpful. WiFi connection good & fast (room 101), despite other comments saying the contrary. Spacey room.

Review 71:The breakfast is rather modest (but the coffee is good ;-) ). Should not be anything to worry about, though: Valencia is crammed with places that serve great food.

Review 72:The staff in the hotel is great: born with a smile on their faces, reception staff is impeccable in English. The location of the hotel is also a great asset: Near city hall, 5 minute walk to the historical centre and a few 100 metres away from a metro station.

Review 73:The room was perfectly clean and of a practical design. Breakfast room again was very clean and the food served was excellent. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great value for money all round

Review 74:this hotel is very overpriced, if fact it's more like a hostel with a lift that only takes 2 people not great if you're on the 4th floor and air con that doesn't work. My room (411) was tiny with an inflexible attitude to changing. 65 Euros wasted, I was staying in a palace for 66 just up the road. very disapppointed this is an over-rated place

Review 75:the terrace, the location

Review 78:No complaints whatsoever.

Review 79:Very near station and old town. Clean rooms friendly staff the breakfast was good. No noise from other rooms or the street during our stay. Would certainly recommend.

Review 80:Front office staff were very helpful. Terrace on the roof of the hotel with lovely views of the city. The hotel is situated close to all popular attractions and railway station. Free Wifi in rooms!

Review 81:In room 402 there was a shortage of power sockets.

Review 82:A great location, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Ideal hotel for a long weekend break.

Review 83:Het povere ontbijt in een ongezellig en warme plaats

Review 84:De rustige, zeer goede centrale ligging, dichtbij het station en de oude stad; de vriendelijkheid van het personeel; de netheid en de airco van de kamer

Review 85:Walls were paper thin, noisy neighbours and you can literally hear toilets flushing and people running water. But we didn't pay a lot so shouldn't really complain...

Review 86:Great staff, great location. Clean and tidy.

Review 87:Closed to museums, places of interest, restaurants etc. Great location and near to transport for sightseeing out of town. ie the beach etc. Lovely terrace area on roof. shame no bar.

Review 88:Couldn't check in on time, iron went missing, walls are thin so you can hear other people, phone didn't work in the room.

Review 89:Great location and nice staff, great terrace with views over the city.

Review 90:As always the rooms are not well soundproofed, other room's shower and water easily heard. There is traffic noise right under the window as in a city area. Toiletries basic and needed to ask for soap and enough towels. we had to walk quite a distance to find nice evening restaurants in the old town.

Review 91:well placed for main line station and sightseeing. short walk from metro. Very good breakfast choices and recommend this as not that many neighbourhood restaurants next door as this in a commercial street. staff willing and helpful when needed.

Review 92:there is a lift to all floors for bedrooms but the breakfast room and rooftop bar is accessed by lift and stairs or stairs only

Review 93:It was in an ideal location

Review 94:Walls are very thin you can hear every word they say in the next room. Cleaning could be better. We found a lot of hair in the bathroom / room corners.

Review 95:Good location near to metro, city center and friendly staff. Very good wifi.

Review 96:first of all the photos shown on the main page of the hotel are totally lie. the building is seen as it's a historical and gorgeus construction, but in fact it's just a poor apartment. secondly, staff was not good. they were not helpful nor cooperative. Third, the rooms are very very small and not as what is seen at the pictures. the room and bathroom were terribly small. and finally, the room was not clean. unfortunately we decided to go there because of the nice pics on the website and paid a lot for this hotel BUT i will never ever go there again!

Review 97:the location is quite well.

Review 98:Taken monies from my account when told I would pay cash on arrival, the picture of the hotel is not the building you stay at?

Review 99:The location was ideal for us to cover the large amount of Fallas sculptures that were built.

Review 100:When booking the picture of the hotel on line showed the very grand Post Office on the corner of the street rather than the hotel itself giving a more grand impression of the hotel than was true

Review 101:Real value for money

Review 102:While the noise isolation from outside is OK, you can hear everything happening on the hallway and in the surrounding bathrooms, water running, blow drier etc.

Review 103:The hotel offers basic budget accommodation, it's very clean and well placed. The staff was very nice and we could leave our luggage in store until we had to go to the airport at no charge.

Review 104:We were in Valencia for Las Fallas, and the hotel is across the plaza from the Ayuntamiento. It is very centrally located. There is a roof top terrace and for 15 euros we could watch the mascleta, eat paella and drink beer. Also, the beds were very comfortable. The rooms are basic but very clean. the staff is very helpful.

Review 105:Walls were a little thin and it was possible to hear people in the next room, but this was not a significant problem.

Review 106:The location can not be beat. Roof top terrace for watching fiesta. Room was spacious, if spartan. Staff speaks English, were very friendly and helpful.. Excellent value for the money. I stayed 2 weeks without a problem.

Review 107:Rooms with numbers 12 are smelly, no air in as small window with a wall infront of it when opened... was given room 412 then the reception lady gave me better one after making phone call to ask .....air condition not working in all and slept first night...in 2nd morning the man at reception told me they need my room and i have to move for 2nd time to room112 so i did...was very rude

Review 108:Just location

Review 109:Problem with elevator but this is old building...respect

Review 110:Hi very good hotel with service but was problem with elevator...with big and heavy bags big problem on the 2 of 3 floor...but general very good

Review 111:- Noise from the bathroom - We arrived early and were allowed to leave our luggage in the hotel. Once we came back at 2pm our room was still not ready.

Review 112:- Comfortable bed! - Spotlessly clean room - Location!

Review 113:Very, Very, Very Noisy Hotel - You can hear everything from the next door room and the corridor (woken numerous times by noise throughout the night) - other peoples comments about the paper thin walls are 100% correct - what a shame! Some of the rooms have obviously been refurbished based on the hotels photos and some have definitely not (ours included) - the bathroom had a broken toilet lid, tiles were old and scruffy - had to turn the shower fully to hot in order for it to be lukewarm - the rooms heating / cooling system did not seem to work at all ! We booked a double bed - but when we arrived we received a twin room - i alerted the reception to this but they did not have any alternative room that matched our initial booking to give us so they offered us FREE breakfast to compensate which was kind but to be fair i am glad i had not paid for the breakfast because it was very basic and we could have eaten the same thing or much better in the many local cafes and bars for a quarter of the price the hotel charges :-( Hotel needs a fair bit of tweaking before we would book it again !

Review 114:Location good / Staff friendly

Review 115:Cafeteria too hot.

Review 116:We were very impressed by the Receptionist Noelia. She was very friendly, efficient and helpful. A lovely young lady and an asset to the Hotel.

Review 117:By car, a bit difficult to negotiate the one way streets to thehotel..it is just next to the main post office in the main square. Thehotel should try and work out a cheaper rate with Lyns, their parkinggarage two blocks away. 18 Euro was the most expensive in 30 days ofdriving around Spain. Should be 12-15..not 18. Biggest problem weencountered..second night, no water between 9 pm and midnight, due tovery low water pressure..just a dribble coming out of the shower..had towait until past mid-night to take a shower. Maybe not acceptable to someguests. Toilet never fully flushed during our two night stay.Elevatoronly holds two persons at a time, so you may have to wait!

Review 118:Great location..close to everything (within 10 minute walk). Front deskwas very friendly and helpful, with good advice for Chinese dining nearthe hotel. The bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Street a bit noisey, but never heard other guests, unlike some other reviewers! Overall, nicestay and good (not great) value. I would go back, but my wife might not!

Review 119:We had a problem finding this place...maybe just our problem Also the shower booth was small(enough, cozy for us but maybe too small for men I guess?)

Review 120:Near renfe stations and major tour spot Special price offer for ticket sales of ciudad de artes y ciencias!! So so great!!!!

Review 121:The night that we stayed at this hotel there was a problem with the water system, so we didn't have water until about 11pm (I believe this was a fault of the town's central system, not the hotel, but not sure). The reception was very nice and tried to fix it as soon as possible, though. Also the trash bin's lid needed repair (needed to use hand to open instead of the usual foot pedal), and the toilet's flush chain often got stuck so we needed to make sure to push it back up or else water kept running.

Review 122:Located near the city hall, shops and super markets, which was very nice. Staff was nice and friendly.

Review 123:The booking procedure does not make it clear if the room has a double bed or twin beds. We found we had a room with twin beds but the receptionist was very kind and changed our room to one with a double bed. Please can you make the choice of bed clearer on your booking form. Thank you

Review 124:Clean, comfortable and convenient for the town

Review 125:We couldn't get Heating system to work properly so we ended up using open window to control temperature in room. Noisy people on our floor woke us up and kept us awake. Hotel tried to deal with them - not their fault at all. They apologized.

Review 126:Room comfortable. Bathroom was fine. Can't complain about anything. I would recommend it due to location both to Ajuntamiento Square and easy to access to Turia River walk. Also close to old city.

Review 127:small breakfast area

Review 128:great location, very well connected with all parts of the city- 5 min from Colon metro station, the City Hall was 2 min away. Friendly staff. Really good conditions for 2 stars, even WiFi. I would recommend it.

Review 129:Cardboard like walls but the price is low so I guess I can't complain.

Review 130:Good location although you can't open the window in the evenings as the air smells on french fries.

Review 131:breakfast was not as good as expected. the price was 6 euros, so good to have it outside. the room is very cold.. even after turn on the ac for 2hrs..

Review 132:very good location, 5 mins walk from the metro station and 2 mins walk to the big square. price is so good!

Review 133:Booking .com's illustration of the Sweet Hotel valencia is completely misleading. It is the first time that the building illustrated has nothing to do with the hotel building. The Post office is 2 blocks away and the hotel is small and not a historic building. This creates a wrong impression that is likely to disappoint customers when they arrive and make us question Booking.com's website information.

Review 134:shower cabinet! It was too small while there was wnough space in the bathroom. As a designer i believe it could be done wide enough even for a plump man.

Review 135:behaviour of staff, location of the hotel cleanliness & order of the room

Review 136:No safes either in room nor in hotel Airconditioning was nonexistent or poor Roof terrace closed at 11 pm

Review 137:Central Location Quiet one way street Ease of check in Elevator/Lift was useful with luggage

Review 138:No ammenity. Room temp is not cntrolable by room due cental cotrol which was applied first time in the city according to receptionist. Low capacity and very noisey elevator(2 persons only) Lack of education of employee. This hotel is nocustomer oriented.

Review 139:Good location.Clean room.
