Reviews for Le Moulin de Vernègues Hôtel & Spa
Review 1:The sink plug in the bathroom was stuck and the maintenance man could not fix it, the glass partition in the shower was not sealed so water flowed to the floor of the bathroom, the wood of the window shutters was rotten, so was the seat of the stool in the bathroom, coffee machine did not work and scrambled eggs at breakfast were cold because the heater did not work. Ordered a beer from the bar but it never arrived, had to go search for the barman. The menu offered in the restaurant was only a small part of the menu displayed at the entrance. So many glitches in a two-night stay cannot be a coincidence. The hotel is nice but very poorly maintained and sloppily operated.
Review 2:The room amenities were very few for a 4 star hotel. I loved the L'Occitane toiletries - am a big fan of the brand but there was nothing else! The poolside snack bar/ restaurant is overpriced with very few choices for a region that is famous for its fresh and vibrant cuisine.
Review 3:We stayed at Moulin des Vernegues for a friend's wedding in the nearby Chateau du Pont-Royal. The domaine is vast and really nice, the hotel charming and very nicely decorated, and the staff nice and smiling. The pool is gorgeous.
Review 4:Hotel was not found with navigation. We had to carry our luggage two stories because there was no elevator. Snob environment and poor breakfast.
Review 5:Swimming pool. Greenful scenery. Historical building.
Review 6:Breakfast was the worst experience we had so far.. service extremely poor; food not great and the 3 staffs were not filling the buffet. Scrambled were always cold. They don't have hot breakfast option but you could ask for fried eggs that used to arrive 15 min later... Fruit salad was becoming a "apple salad". I had to pick mugs / plates / knifes etc myself because tables were not ready for next clients. You have your coffee or other beverages from a machine....! that's not what you necessarily expect when you are in a 4-star hotel... at least serving hot drinks would be nicer. etc etc breakfast was extremely challenging that's why we didn't go everyday! Wifi wasn't working properly but we've been told that they were working on it.
Review 7:The place is nice and pretty despite there is a busy road just next to it. Not a massive issue, I do not recommend to someone who is looking for quietness though! Swimming pool is fine - lots of beds / service quite good in their pool bar area. You can't have little snacks, only proper meal (salads / mains etc) The gastronomic restaurant was really good. Good service.
Review 8:Breakfast- inferior drinks machine, inferior fruit juice.
Review 9:Comfortable rooms with excellent beds, efficient bathrooms, charming grounds, lovely staff and very good restaurant at dinner.
Review 10:The rooms we had were very far away from the main section of the hotel and the corridors were very stark bright colours a bit like a hospital , not very French. Some of the staff were not very friendly. There were a lot of flies around the food at breakfast, which was a bit off putting.
Review 11:The room was excellent, spacious and comfortable. Very quiet and spotlessly clean. The public areas were decorated beautifully and in a traditional style. The garden and pool area were of very high standard.
Review 12:My only criticism is that the food although very good was expensive.
Review 13:Just about everything. Beautiful room. Wonderful view. Very clean. Friendly efficient staff. Very good evening meal in relaxing surroundings.
Review 14:On occasions, the speed of service was rather slow, although it might be described as leisurely!
Review 15:Almost everything. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. The food was very good. The atmosphere was delightful.
Review 16:Only criticism I have is the loungers at the pool - need mattresses on them as uncomfortable to lie on. Same with chairs there, cushions on seats in pool area would have made such a difference, would have given 10 out of 10 if had them.
Review 17:Really loved my stay here, experienced complete relaxation, excellent cuisine, friendly professional staff, would return again and again
Review 18:Very close to a main road, price of food and drinks, breakfast coffee from a machine!!!!???? Breakfast room which felt like a canteen, no hot breakfast options.
Review 19:Location close to Luberon, pool, golf course designed by Balesteros, our room facing second hole, green surroundings, food, helpful staff, spa, dinner out on the terrace.
Review 20:I wasn't allowed to charge my cell phone at the breakfast floor, where they had several available plugs on the wall. I was asked to charge my cell phone at the reception desk.
Review 21:I liked the fact that the garden of the hotel was very spacious and the design of the buildings were plain and modern.
Review 22:The sensitive combination of elegant original mill buildings and modern accommodation.
Review 23:Very accommodating and friendly staff, helpful with adding additional bed.
Review 24:Breakfast is very poor, no service at all, not a 4 star hotel.
Review 25:Nice swimming pool, nice area around Hotel
Review 26:Three mistakes in the bill, all adding up the total.
Review 27:Nice rooms, great service, friendly staff
Review 28:- noisy road close by - lack of storage space
Review 29:- golf course
Review 30:Approaching parking sometimes smell of les pubelles
Review 31:Very well located for our visits to the Festival de La Roque d'Antheron
Review 32:Grounds need a little bit of tidying up.
Review 33:Staff were very good. Rooms excellent. Food very good, whilst not cheap was very good value. Overall, very pleased
Review 34:I have known this hotel prior to renovation and felt the authenticity of the entrance hall has been ruined. I also could not understand why the area of the entrance hall where the grand fireplace is has to be filled with dining tables when there was adequate space in the original dining hall ..at least when we were there. It used to be a lovely place to have a drink. My main course (cod) on Sat evening was dried out and tasteless.
Review 35:I loved our view from the balcony of our bedroom on to the lovely trees.
Review 36:Hotel is let down by its restataunt , over priced for a no choice menu ,45 minute wait for wine to arrive at table and then it's the smallestglass I have ever been presented with . four staff waiting the table notknowin what each other is doing , 2.5 hours to complete a very basicthree course uncooked menu .
Review 37:Beautiful style and one of the best Beds in the world , no noise .
Review 38:Staff, overall level of service.
Review 39:Location, SPA, golf
Review 40:being so close to main road
Review 41:pool, breakfast - the fact that we could have it at 11am
