Reviews for Hotel Casamar
Review 1:Walls were very thin. It was almost like having other people in your room with you!
Review 2:Fantastic location, great staff, good breakfast and value for money.
Review 3:Esther @ checking was just fantastic and so helpful throughout our stay. The restaurant meal and wine pairing was among the best I've ever had... amuse bouchée, liquid nitrogen chilled desert .... You must eat here! A very nice smoke breakfast with fresh bread cheese and sausage, fresh cut fruit... A hands on family run hotel! Perfect
Review 4:It was a fantastic place to stay! Great location, wonderful views. Absolutely loved it. A bit sad that the restaurant was closed on the night that we stayed, but found some other gems in Llfranc.
Review 5:The hotel was fantastic and in a beautiful location. We had booked a basic room so weren't expecting anything wonderful but we were put in an amazing room which was spacious and spotlessly clean and beautifully bright on the side of the hotel. Our bathroom was lovely and large and they supplied us with beach towels which was great as we only had hand luggage so no room for our beach towels. The staff were very friendly, kind and extremely helpful especially the lady with red hair on reception and the whole place had a very welcoming friendly feel. We were emailed saying we need to book into the restaurant, which we stupidly ignored and almost didn't get a table but luckily another very kind guest gave us his table as he was going out and we had probably one of the best meals we have ever had! I can't really describe it but all I can say is definitely book into the restaurant it is great and the drinks menu is like a bible! The location of the terrace is amazing, either eating breakfast or dinner the view over La Franc is spectacularly pretty! We will definitely be returning!
Review 6:The rooms are not large and the beds are just basic in comfort.
Review 7:The Hotel Casamar is a delighful Boutique hotel in a great cental location to beach and restaurants and has views from the common areas over the whiole town. We loved the breakfasts and the staff were very nice.
Review 8:After an amazing dinner, breakfast was very light, nothing comparable to the dinner experience.
Review 9:Excellent location, excellent customer service very accommodating as well as fast & friendly. Restaurant is the best in this area, well deserved michelin star!
Review 10:place was beautiful. We only booked for one night but loved it so much we booked a second night. All the staff were extremely friendly able to accommodate us for the second night even though we had to change rooms
Review 11:very helpful staff, good location, lovely terrace for drinks & breakfast overlooking the bay. a room at the front of the hotel would have been a bonus!!
Review 12:In such a beautiful hotel, we were surprised to see that dogs were allowed not just in the immaculate rooms but in the restaurant as well.
Review 13:The whole 'boutique' experience and the friendly, helpful staff - not to mention the Michelin Star restaurant!
Review 14:The bathroom are a little outdated and do not have space to store toilets articles
Review 15:The view, the confort of the hotel and the quality of the restaurant
Review 16:Having to leave.
Review 17:What better than a view of a sparkling blue sea, a beautiful sandy beach and small boats bobbing in the harbour? Only improved by the effort put in by the staff to make our stay really memorable.
Review 18:Llafranc was surprisingly quiet, lots of shops and restaurants closed at the end of October.
Review 19:Views, breakfast on the terrace, very good value for money. Walks around the headland to Calella for lunch.
Review 20:The wifi connection is one of those that requires you to log in each time you want to use it - this got a little annoying.
Review 21:Hotel Casamar is in an excellent location, with a terrace (and certain rooms) overlooking the sea. It took 5 minutes to walk to the beach, and beach towels were provided. We were in a seaview room, which was on the small side, but airy and clean. There was also an air conditioner. The shower was small but had great water pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than sufficient (but not indulgent). The hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant. We didn't get a chance to eat there but it looked very tempting. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to friends visiting Llafranc.
Review 22:Difficult to find on first arrival! ( A sign post on the main road would be helpful!) Car parking limited and spaces narrow for larger cars.
Review 23:Views from the terraces, the gentle lullaby of the waves, variety of buffet at breakfast and the imaginative evening menus each day for residents. Presentation and quality of dishes was excellent. Staff were all helpful and invariably pleasant and courteous
Review 24:nothing
Review 25:A lovely well run family owned hotel. The midday meal in the restaurant represented great value for a Michelin star meal. The location, friendly staff and the weather made a short break exceptional.
Review 26:What a find! We stayed here for four days and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel has a very warm atmosphere, the staff are kind and helpful, the breakfast is amazing and the view on the bay of Llafranc is stunning. For lovers of fish the restaurant is fantastic. We will definitely come back.
Review 27:The hotel overlooks the beautiful bay and if you are dining on the hotelterrace the food and the view are a perfect combination. Whilst thehotel only has two stars, Spanish rating, it is well beyond thestandards of most so called four star hotels. It is a gem.
Review 28:Wonderful location overlooking resort. Breakfast on the balcony hard to beat. Make sure to book the restaurant wonderful food & relaxed atmosphere.
Review 29:Fantastic food!! Great chef.
Review 30:Bathroom needs modern upgrade, king bed comfort
Review 31:Marvelous staff, Michelin 1 star restaurant, fabulous location, balcony with view.
Review 32:Great little hotel in a lovely seaside village. Delicious and beautifully presented meal in the restaurant.
Review 33:Nice Location near Llafranc bay front.
Review 34:The family who own this hotel are very welcoming and friendly. The food is fabulous and great value for money.
Review 35:The room was a bit small and a bit out dated
Review 36:The location and the staff were excellent

Review 40:Everything.
Review 41:Friendly, helpful staff, lovely location.............no complaints
Review 42:Friendly family run hotel.
Review 43:Nothing
Review 44:Lovely hotel with warm, friendly staff.
Review 45:It was like stepping into a 5 star boutique hotel for 2 star money. The restaurant would compete with most of the top ones in London.
Review 46:The attention to detail. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Offering information before being asked and an excellent restaurant.
Review 47:The shower head was malfunctioning; it was replaced within 30 minutes, amazing! We, and the rest of the family, will be back.
Review 48:The room was nice but quite compact
Review 49:The view from the terrace is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful
Review 50:Room and WiFi were pretty basic
Review 51:Location, view, staff, food, cleanliness
Review 52:Stunning views and an amazing restaurant.
Review 53:Wifi
Review 54:Food View Staff
Review 55:Excellent breakfast.
Review 56:Npthing
Review 57:Upgrade to a room with sea view and excellent breakfast spread.
Review 58:Parking a little awkward, but no big deal.
Review 59:Lovely location, charming staff, excellent food. Comfortable if basic room, but very acceptable.
Review 60:We thought it was a truly wonderful hotel, very friendly and helpful receptionists and staff. Breakfast excellent and meals. We will certainly be returning
Review 61:Only a small thing, but the shower head didn't fit it's holder so it had to be hand held.
Review 62:Design, location and view were all wonderful and the staff were warm and welcoming.
Review 63:This was an absolutely wonderful hotel - a relaxing retreat from the wider world, seconds from the beach. Gorgeous breakfast, fantastic restaurant and brilliant service right down to the beach towels we were handed when we arrived three hours in advance of checkin time! We can't wait to come back.
Review 64:Not a lot really but Coffee making facilities in room would have been a bonus. My wife likes a bath so a full size bath would also have been a bonus but maybe the current size of bath is normal to the region of Spain.
Review 65:Location of Hotel and the view over Llafranc Easy access Friendliness of staff Cleanliness of room and hotel Excellent breakfast.
Review 66:bathroom light timer too short. pity no restaurant facility monday evening, even reduced, but we were aware of that when we made the booking
Review 67:uncluttered style, restful. restaurant excellent. Staff excellent
Review 68:Rooms were quite small but the balcony with amazing views more than made up for it. The shower was also a bit small but it doesn't matter overall.
Review 69:Wonderful hotel and restaurant. Fantastic staff, very hospitable. The views from our room over the bay were amazing. It was also great value and the Michelin-starred restaurant was a complete surprise and added bonus! A wonderful place, we would definitely go again. Llafranc and its surrounding area (you can go on some great coastal walks) is an amazing, laid-back destination. A real find.
Review 70:Nothing: very good for a 2-star hotel.
Review 71:Sits above the bay, but easy to find by car. Sea view room was delightful, compact but very comfortable. Public areas stylish, terrace with access to steps down to seafront. Some easy free parking outside. Restaurant was superb, and residents' set menu almost as good as the a la carte. Exceptional value.
Review 72:The hotel is situated in a fantastic location a very short walk to Llafranc beach. There were beautiful views of the bay from the hotel terrace where we had breakfast each morning and dinner at the Michelin star restaurant one evening for a special occasion. The staff team are incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned promptly in the morning so it was possible to relax there if we chose later in the day without fear of disturbance. Subtle touches make this a special experience such as beach towels, parasols and chairs being made available for hotel residents for beach use. Although we went slightly out of season, the charge for bed and breakfast was a real bargain and the two star rating of the hotel does not reflect the hotel well at all. The hotel is a nice design with modern interior. We would go back in a flash, our only regret was not upgrading to a room with a view of the beach!
Review 73:Wifi did not work in the bungalow as it is away from the main hotel.
Review 74:The bungalow was great - a self contained little house with private terrasse. Breakfast good. The restaurant is amazing!
Review 75:Nothing!
Review 76:The staff at Hotel Casamar was very nice and extremely accomodating. The location was PERFECT! The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything we needed - a tv that was easy to operate and WiFi. The restaurant was excellent. Overall, our experience was as good as it gets.
Review 77:The food in the Hotel is excellent and the staff do that bit extra to make your stay comfortable. As a family run business, they provide an all round excellent service.
Review 78:the wifi signal was very poor and we could hear the preparations for the breakfast every morning,
Review 79:the staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is very nice an, for a Michelin star restaurant, not very expensive.
Review 80:These issues are not straight connected to the hotel itself, but in general: the tourist should be well aware of the transportation options when travelling in low season (like in May). There are options to connect from Girona airport, but perhaps even better choices when coming from Barcelona airport. Of course taxis are available, but pretty expensive from Girona airport (approx. 90 euros).
Review 81:I knew the surroundings of Casamar already from nearly twenty years ago. But I couldn't believe it was such a lovely area still. Naturally, the location of this hotel is the best with the beatiful view over the sea and the promenade of Llafranch. However, the pathways along the coast to Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell are fantastic. In May, this was such a relaxing and cosy area. Furthermore, the staff of the Casamar with Ester's nice humour made my stay perfect. However, there are several practical things you should pay attention to when booking a hotel in Llafranch/Calella in general (transportation during low season etc.)
Review 82:Beds were too soft and not solidly built. The interesting Michelin rated restaurant did not offer vegetarian choices in the menu (but that is quite usual in Spain), so we did not give it a try.
Review 83:Location, friendly staff, views from the balcony, top class restaurant.
Review 84:There was nothing to dislike, pure luxury
Review 85:From the moment we stepped through the door, we felt at home. The staff were exceptional in everyway. The beach views and location. The food.
Review 86:Position, views, food.
Review 87:Comfortable room Welcoming, helpful staff Excellent restaurant
Review 88:everything, just wonderful
Review 89:Bed sheets not changed during stay.
Review 90:The restaurant and location.
Review 91:Wonderful food at a very reasonable price. Relaxed ambience. Lovely sea view.
Review 92:they upgraded us to a small house for the same cost because they thought the internal room we booked would be too hot and restrictive
Review 93:the many, many steps leading up to the hotel from the beach
Review 94:beautiful view located in quiet peaceful Mediterainean cove
Review 95:Staff extremely friendly & helpful Food amazing Comfortable
Review 96:everything
Review 97:Superb location. Excellent food. Friendly and efficient staff. lovely clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 98:room at back with boiler noise.
Review 99:Food, staff, location,
Review 100:The staff, the food, the design, the location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I have already recommended it to others.
