Reviews for Hôtel les Bains de Cabourg - Thalazur

Review 1:Food was OK but not great. There was no mini bar of note on the rooms and the TV channels were limited. Wifi access was not readily available.

Review 2:Location and parking facilities. Overall cleanliness and staff attentiveness.

Review 3:Hamman smelt of dampness. We had to queue for our evening table and restaurant seemed understaffed for this busy time of year (29 and 30 December).

Review 4:Location, rooms with sea view, ample parking, very friendly staff, buffet breakfast, wonderful wonderful massage, very decent menu with local products and selection of wines.

Review 5:a restaurant that was supposed to stay open until 10 pm but in which the staff started clearing tables at 9 pm and a bar that shut at 10 pm

Review 6:location, the spa and helpful staff

Review 7:the open time of the pool is rather short and the access time for the kids are limited even if we pay same fee as adult.

Review 8:Very clean and the view in approach make you feel you are in holiday.

Review 9:Room was not really big enough for the extra bed for 8 year old, so not able to get out to balcony without moving bed.

Review 10:Superb beds, great location, stylish and airy new hotel. Good spa and pool (salt water). Quiet room, but limited sea view. Easy walk to town centre.

Review 11:We had to wait for one and a half hours after check in time due to a late departure. The staff we're rude and unconcerned about this sayi g house keeping were to blame. We eventually got another room which had been available all the time after complaining to the manager. If if was not for the Spa .. Go somewhere else.

Review 12:The Spa is fab.

Review 13:Notning negative to report

Review 14:Excellent relaxing stay. Food in the restaurant was excellent, but the town is walkable on the boardwalk and there are several local restaurants there. Wednesday evening they close off the main shopping street to cars and there were three different bands/singers along the street.

Review 15:Only downer was it was my kids first time in a swimming pool in their life and we had to keep them almost silent which was sad as it was kids welcome hour so we didnt go swimming again, that was the indoor pool the outdoor pool would be different id say

Review 16:Its so close to a lovely beach and village.Perfect central location if travelling from cherbourg to paris. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff speak good english and are very friendly.

Review 17:We didn't have a bad experience, we just consider that 20 euros per person for breakfast is too much, so went into Cabourg and had very enjoyable breakfasts.

Review 18:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a short drive from the ferry, good food super location in the lovely town of Cabourg

Review 19:The room got quite hot at night - air conditioning didn't run cold enough. But this was exceptional for Normandy. Breakfast was a bit chaotic at 9:30 a.m. - fairly good selection but coffee was bland; overpriced.

Review 20:Location; view; balcony; comfortable bed; outdoor pool; charming path to the beach; quiet rooms; competent and friendly staff

Review 21:The hotel staff upgraded our room. The quality, service and food was exceptional. The room was quite comfortable with an excellent view of the ocean. Everything exceeded our comfort and expectations.

Review 22:Price of breakfast ridiculous. Mean amount of coffee, sugar and milk in the room with paper cup each (I understand saves on washing up, but more than one each please!).

Review 23:Very comfortable, excellent staff. Spa pool, sauna & steam room wonderful.

Review 24:The wifi was not very good and the breakfast to expensive

Review 25:It was a beutifull hotel on a beutifull spot. Clean and fresh and I really enjoyed the pool. Friendly staff who also spoke very good inglish.

Review 26:I expect this sort of quality to cost - and the room costs were expensive but acceptable. To eat or drink there needed a second mortgage!

Review 27:The setting, facilities, comfort and particularly the staff are all absolutely excellent

Review 28:Bar/Restaurant staff organisation is a disaster. We asked for a drink at the bar twice over 30 minutes and never got any. We spent 2 hours at the table for 2 simple menus.

Review 29:Thalasso facilities Excelent food

Review 30:Lack of drawers in bedroom [if you can put a bedside table there make it a useful one]. Lack of shelf space in bathroom Food too expensive. Drinks ridiculously expensive [So we ate and drank elsewhere]

Review 31:convenient layout of hotel. cleanliness and good lighting. proximity of sea-front. spa, pools, beauty salon. pleasant staff [Sorry It's not 200 characters - or do you really mean 'maximum']

Review 32:Breakfast for 19 euros didn't encourage many customers to participate. Please decide on policy for men & stick to it. We were told my husband couldn't go in with swim shorts yet 8 out of 9 males wore them when I got into the pool. Luckily the pool attendant was very helpfull.

Review 33:The pool facilities were great and room size good with lovely views from the balcony. We have previously had afternoon tea there and it was fantastic.

Review 34:The inside pool closes too early (7pm) and the restaurant doesn't serve food between 3pm and 7:30pm.

Review 35:Very nice hotel to relax and have a good time as a couple. Another good thing is that they accept pets. The spa service is really good.

Review 36:Chairs in lounge were all about modernity and less about comfort. Everything else fantastic.

Review 37:Restaurant excellent, both food and staff, who had a smattering of English and were cheerful and helpful. Wifi easy to join and strong throughout the hotel. Lovely swimming pool. Room modern, clean, with queen size bed and good linen. View over beach available.

Review 38:First room was small, not as described online. Uncomfortable bed, air con not effective in either rooms 280 or suite 367. Worst 4 star hotel we ever stayed in. Room facilities very poor, plastic cups and stirrers for tea was a disgrace. We had a terrible outlook from our balcony inspite of thinking we had booked a seaview. No towelling robes in rooms.Tom the manager was the only staff member who cared, all the rest of reception staff had poor attitude, especially the one who booked us in on arrival. This hotel is definately not value for money.

Review 39:Quiet room, comfy bed when room was changed to junior suite. We do not use spa facilities so cannot comment.

Review 40:Not child friendly. Pool had a time restriction for children. We booked a room with the partial sea view but on arrival were given a different view, a view of the car park! Ordered a breakfast, it arrived on time but without bowls for the cereals!

Review 41:Quality of hotel, swimming pool was a good quality.

Review 42:Staff were very unhelpful, bar and Dinning Room staff were rude and Food was average. This is locally acknowledged as we later found out.

Review 43:Location to World Equestrian Games in Caen.

Review 44:Cooked breakfast poor and not enough variation. Dinner poor for kids and the menu not in English but staff did try to help. Wifi was far to slow and hit and miss, I can't imagine that any business user would be happy

Review 45:Pool Fabulous especially given that it can rain somedays in Normandy Great location just off the beach. Good staff Good Parking Good room

Review 46:The menu had no English translation, was not updated in public areas or available to view in advance, and the dining room was stifflingly hot. Food quality was good, but pot luck what you received unless your french is excellant. Pool was rather dark and very noisy. Bedrooms small and had knowhere to store luggage.

Review 47:Nice bar, very clean rooms.

Review 48:Breakfast expensive (19€ for ok but no better. Room compact; no shelf in bathroom. Tacky paper and plastic cups. Weak wifi. The hotel is full of white robed spa addicts. Ok if that's your thing but you pay extra for a facility that you may not want to use.

Review 49:Comfortable bed, good parking, efficient reception, check out.

Review 50:Despite my polite attempts to speak french... If you speak English, you are treated like an Alien, despite being in NORMANDY. Waiters, no english and very rude. publicly embarrassed at not being able to read the menu. Food, is very expensive for what it is. Pool opens at 0900 and shuts 1945. Which is very unusual for a fitness hotel! If you want to see the sights of normandy all day you need to finish early if you want to swim after! The staff closed the outdoor pool at 1920, 25 mins early, for no reason despite people using it for fitness. Did not feel welcomed at all. Breakfast is 19 Euros. Each.

Review 51:Spa and pool are very well equipped Nice location on the beach The Night Shift Manager was very pleasant. Plenty of free parking

Review 52:Lack of choice of evening meals.

Review 53:Enoyed the Spa Facilities

Review 54:Extremely smart establishment. Well run with all expected of a Spa.

Review 55:babies in public areas (restaurant, pool)

Review 56:Location

Review 57:The room was on the small side, especially as it was billed as a superior room.

Review 58:Access to the promenade and an easy walk along it into Cabourg.

Review 59:Small rooms, tv channels only french, people coming in bad outfit to restaurant.

Review 60:Free parking, direct access to sea & promenade

Review 61:Very nice staff and very clean. the food was yummy.

Review 62:Fabulous spa hotel, beautiful beach location, clean rooms, great food and drink, would definitely recommend and will return

Review 63:Nothing

Review 64:Location , facilities . Helpful staff

Review 65:All good.

Review 66:Great location with both beach and hotel pools. Therapy centre great for adults and kids alike.

Review 67:Too far out of Centre Ville

Review 68:Superb Hotel & facilities

Review 69:The whole hotel didn't have shower gel that day.

Review 70:Amazing view to the beach, helpful staff.

Review 71:Luxurious stay over

Review 72:Everything about this place is great. Wounderful little town just down the way.

Review 73:Great property. Clean rooms, great pool and spa facilities. Location right near the beach. Great views.

Review 74:Rooms v small particularly if you are paying top whack...similar to Premier Inn rooms in UK.

Review 75:Great pool and service

Review 76:Wonderfully comfortable bed

Review 77:No kid menu at the restaurant...

Review 78:almost everything.

Review 79:Storage in rooms Lack of shelf space in Showeroom

Review 80:Position with nice promenade into town

Review 81:Really enjoyed our stay - excellent!

Review 82:Restaurant was ok

Review 83:Location Spa

Review 84:Every morning before 8:00, we could hear delivery trucks, noise... from our room

Review 85:Location. Cleanliness.

Review 86:average food

Review 87:salt water pool lovely beach

Review 88:Good location, easy for a good walk on beach path .

Review 89:Nothing!

Review 90:The spa facilities, the food, and the staff made for a very rejuvenating stay!

Review 91:Not enough information in English. Our premium room was a bit small.

Review 92:The comfort of the bed & pillows. The pools and the location.

Review 93:No twin beds available

Review 94:Location, balcony with sea view, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 95:Very comfortable room and excellent breakfasts. the hotel offers good value for money.

Review 96:RESTAURANT =breakfast was hit and miss evening meal was disappointing

Review 97:STAFF -extremely helpful and curteous SPA -Luxurious and staff excellent

Review 98:Be advised if you rent a bike during your stay they are not maintained very well. I had to stop several times to repair slipped chains.

Review 99:The Hotel is beautiful and sits right on the beach. The desk staff are nice and helped me figure out transportation around the area, I found the waiters to be very charming and friendly. The room was bright and clean and very comfortable. Having a small refrigerator in the room is nice. The bar is small, but good enough, the restaurant menu limited, but tasty. Very nice breakfast buffet every morning. Considering I was there for the 70th D-Day Anniversary, and the hotel was completely full, I had a nice relaxing, rewarding stay.

Review 100:Food & drink expensive But found this to be the case All over

Review 101:We liked the location , we attended the D Day 70th So was a good base for us The staff very helpful as our french is very limited but we got by

Review 102:We were 3 adults and the 3rd bed was not comfortable. It was meant for a child... The air-conditioning was not working. We slept the 2nd night with open window. As we stayed only 2 nights , it was okay.

Review 103:Very nice Atmosphere and quiet place. Just in front of the beach with a beautiful Promenade. The Hotel was very clean. Very kind staff. Parking and Internet free.

Review 104:The room was a little small with not much thought given to storage of. Travellers bits and pieces- the bathroom suffered from a lack of ventilation resulting I'm obvious mould in the shower.

Review 105:The spa facilities and the restaurant were excellent.

Review 106:wifi was really poor, no reception in most parts of the hotel

Review 107:lovely setting, helpful and friendly staff even though we were a group of smelly cyclists. Spa was a treat and the rooms were the perfect size. Breakfast was fantastic, large selection and all you can eat.

Review 108:Most of the village shops and restaurants are closed during our visit, they only open in summertime.

Review 109:The hotel and the staff. The location in the beach. We could access the village trought the beach promenade.

Review 110:Pet fee of 20 Euros/day is expensive, considering no bowls/bed/treats are provided. However, requested bowls at booking and found them in the room upon arrival. Sauna is regulated (no possibility of adding water to steamer for instant vapour). Ice maker located in sauna/hammam room was not in service, as pictured in the photo. Basic rooms have no bathtubs. Large gathering of business people smoking at entrance of hotel.

Review 111:Chose hotel for complimentary spa access during 2-night stay: large salt water pool enhanced by entertaining variety of water jets and lovely lighting; lifeguard on duty; large eucalyptus infused hammam; sauna; daily renewal of robes and towels. Restaurant's dinner menu an excellent value. Cuisine and service also excellent...fresh, creative, tasty. Cocktails a little pricey, but well done. Staff throughout hotel, spa, and restaurant all pleasant and accommodating. Great location with private path to beach and close to city centre.

Review 112:2 of 4 sauna / hammam were blocked for massages.

Review 113:The spa area especially the swimming pool with the sole water was greatand relaxing. Sauna and hammam was nice also. Staff was very friendlyand helpful. We were allowed to come back to the facilities even on theday we checked out already. It was very special!

Review 114:A bit expensive for what you get. Staff is not that welcoming. Food in the restaurant was good but no more, and staff in restaurant was undertrained.

Review 115:Clearly, hotel is clean and comfortable, quite modern also. The room was large and nice to stay in.

Review 116:Paper cups for hot drinks and limited amounts of tea, milk etc was disappointing.

Review 117:We upgraded to a full sea view and the room, and view, was worth it. Pool was very nice but at times was very busy with people having a 'spa day'

Review 118:The paper cups in the room for tea/coffee. The plastic cups in the bathroom. The curtain in the room made it difficult to get out to the balcony because there was no divide

Review 119:The comfortable beds. The walkway at the side of the hotel to the beach along the promenade into Cabourg. The dinner menu.

Review 120:Paper cups and plastic glasses in the room. Nice pool but not suitablefor swimming lengths in. Very mean allowances of tea bags and milk;only one cup per person per day. Only one small bottle of waterprovided during our 4 day stay. Breakfast not included and costs €19per person per day.

Review 121:Whilst the location was a little out of town, there's a greatpromenade to get you into town after about a 20 minute walk. The roomwas nice with a very comfy bed. Food in the restaurant was good and thefixed price menu was good value too. This hotel is very expensive forwhat you get so unless you get a good deal through bookings.com as wedid, we wouldn't recommend it.

Review 122:Nothing. Just a shame we were too busy visiting the many places Normandy has to offer, to allow as to make use of the hotel's spa facilities.

Review 123:Lovely luxury spa hotel. Spa facilities / swimming pools etc looked excellent. We did not use as we were only using the hotel as a base for touring Normandy. Cabourg is a great location for this - but spending the money on this hotel was probably a bit of waste if you are not using the spa facilities. The hotel is expensive but not more than you would expect for this level of luxury. Room was lovely. We had a partial sea view, but the garden view rooms would be just as nice as the hotel grounds are beatifully kept. Huge, secure, free car. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the centre of Cabourg, either along the promenade or through the lovely residential roads. There are plently of good restaurants in Cabourg so we didn't eat in the hotel.

Review 124:The cleaning was not up to standard.

Review 125:A very nice hotel straight down to the beach. Perfect pool area. Just a short walk to Cabourg alonge the beach. Nice gourmet restaurant with reasonable prices.

Review 126:I think the room size is not that great for the price we have paid.

Review 127:The hotel has a grand entrance and big parking space. The reception area is also very well designed. What we love the most is the spa area, indoor salted/sea water pool and the outdoor pool. My little girl enjoyed herself very much given the sea water by the beach is a bit too cold for her to soak too long. The hotel located like 15mins walk to Cabourg town. But the stroll is a very nice stroll with seaview. But let-op of buggy for your child - staircase n dunes.

Review 128:The breakfast is extremely poor value for money and can be chaotic. Itshould also go on until a little later. One member of staff chose toignore me repeatedly because I do not speak French. I love France andthe French by the way. The music by the pool. Far too loud - you go tothe pool for some peace!! Club sandwich - inedible. I've lived allover the world - the bar menu is not what people want it is what thehotel serves.

Review 129:Easy parking. Functional clean faciltiies. Consistency of quality.Approachable and helpful staff generally. Marte was excellent. Frontdesk excellent and restaurant manager resolved a problem and thenreally looked after us throughout. The pool and the spa facilitiesgenerally. The restaurant in the evening was less formal than we hadimagined it would be, but all the better for it. We often didn'tleave our room until the afternoon yet it was still cleaned without anyproblem. Very good.

Review 130:Staff on arrival not 'gushing' A little way out of town for bars and restaurants

Review 131:Lovely facilities, new , clean and very comfortable with good access to beach

Review 132:The room was small for the price.

Review 133:The hotel is new and the facilities are good. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the breakfast is generous. We wanted to visit the WW2 beaches and museums as well as Bayeux, Deauville and Honfleur so the location of the hotel is perfect.

Review 134:room perhaps smaller than expected. breakfast expensive ( did not have) compared to evening meal . spa treatments bit pricey. hotel great but will have to save up to visit for more than 2 nights !

Review 135:food , pools with sprays etc. , access to beach, welcome champagne eve , view, sea ! ample safe parking . staff room with balcony .

Review 136:Nothing it was all fantastic

Review 137:Both swimming pools were salt water and the indoor pool had excellent spa facilities. Rooms were fantastic with balconys and good WC facilities.

Review 138:Paper cups for tea and coffee in room

Review 139:Lovely luxury hotel, great room, comfortable bed, fab views. Restaurant food excellent although pricey. We walked along the promonade to a super restaurant with terrace overlooking the beach. Fantastic views of beach great location we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay
