Reviews for Hotel Finn

Review 1:The location was wonderful and so close to town and restaurants and the swimming hall just up the street but still it was pretty quite, being on the top floor. The staff was friendly and I liked their work-outfit which said "Hotel Finn - not a five star hotel".

Review 2:The water from the shower covered half the bathroom and the walls seemed a bit thin (but we are light sleepers and still slept well). Just be aware of the reception opening times - you can check in and go in and out of the hotel at any time, but it would be awkward if you had specific requests

Review 3:A fine budget option for a short stay, good location and meets most needs

Review 4:Heating didn't work so well...but we didn't ask the staff about (it wasn't that cold) so they may have been able to sort it out if we had asked.

Review 5:Friendly staff, excellent location and great value for money.

Review 6:small point - but rooms weren't cleaned for whole duration 4 nights! . prob hotel policy . but could have done with a freshen up and fresh towels after day 2...

Review 7:excellent location. central yet quiet. although no eating on site , the resto next door does EXCELLENT breakfast . lunch and dinner! room was fine and quiet..although I would be a little more concerned, If I had a front facing room. staff very helpful. good value for helsinki!

Review 8:Personal not helpful. Extremely cold room that we even had to sleep in jackets. Heating radiators not working. Bathroom extremely small. Wifi barely working- more easy to connect with hotel in front. Hotel looks especially for extra charges can make to you- be careful. We were accused and charged for smoking in the room on base of a photo of cigarettes box in trash bin. Abuse of privacy. Theoretically they have smoking alarm but they charge you on base of subjective opinion of reception and " professional cleaning service". Better throw away your cigarettes ends at the entrance downstairs and not in the bin of hotel. illegal form of charging your credit card. No recipe, no copy of contract, no communication. We were the same day in the hotel to pick up our luggage- no comments were made to us about the "surprise" prepared by hotel.

Review 9:Good location. Possibility to leave luggage.

Review 10:Soundproofing quite poor, you hear everything loud & clear from nearby rooms. Take earplugs with you. Floor quite cold in Dec, take woollen socks or ask for an extra radiator.

Review 11:Modern and clean, great location, breakfast @ Kiila restaurant close to the hotel very nice (not included in the price of the room).

Review 12:thin walls so people from neighboring places laughing or shouting was distubing at times and very old looking ambience :( No phone in the room.

Review 13:location was very nice

Review 14:We like everything!!!

Review 15:Well,I like everything about this cute hotel!!! The stuff was really, really amazing, very kind and helpful! The cleanes was great, great location, close to everything we want to see,5 min walking to Tavastia, which was, really important cause we were here cause of the Him concerts, anyway goooood value for the money and, surely would stay again in this sweet hotel!!!!

Review 16:Travellers need to climb up a slight upward slope if coming from the central train station.

Review 17:Central location with well equipped facilities. Value for money for a no-frills hotel.

Review 18:The hotel is well-located in the city and it's value for money for a no-frills basic hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped as well. You can get a kettle from the reception if u need it.

Review 19:The shower was a bit ridiculous: the toilet/bathroom was small so that the shower was placed right above the toilet pot. So the whole toilet got wet when showering and toilet paper and everything else that should remain dry needed to be removed before. At least the floor was warm and the whole thing dried up quite fast:)

Review 20:Good location. Nice interior. Clean. Comfortable beds. Good system with getting in and out outside reception hours.

Review 21:Great hotel at a great location. We arrived late after the reception had already closed, but the staff had left us a warm welcome message on the desk with all the necessary information. There was no breakfast at the hotel, but you get a small discount for the breakfast buffet at a restaurant called KIILA, right next to the hotel. The food there was very nice and we were more than satisfied with the whole experience at Hotel Finn!

Review 22:Bathrooms very small No food option (but we knew this)

Review 23:Location is excellent - right in the center of town with restaurants and bars nearby. Very good value

Review 24:The elevator is old and scary. The heater in our room was broken, however, the staff was really helpful and managed to give us a portable heater in our room immediately.

Review 25:The location is great. It just next to the shopping area and walkable to some sightseeing location as well. The staffs were helpful and polite.

Review 26:Our room was not what the pictures promised with beautiful wallpapers and such. We had no wallpapers at all and the bathroom was so tiny that a) the sink was too small for washing my face and b) when I took a shower, the whole bathroom was wet (toilet seat included) because the bathroom was basically the size of an average shower. In other words, no room in the bathroom to take a shower... Other minus was that the walls were too thin; could hear our neighbours quite well.

Review 27:Location is excellent.

Review 28:The entrance foyer is shared with a nightclub down stairs and smells smoky and stale and is particularly grubby BUT don't let this put you off. This is a great well priced hotel in the centre Helsinki!

Review 29:Excellent location in centre of city walking distance to all sights. Staff were particularly great and helpful - supplying extra heater for our room immediately and helping make appointment with local doctor. Good size room and bathroom with heated floor perfect for December cold. Rooms just like the pictures clean and tidy. Comfortable beds. Tea and coffee in reception foyer was nice. Fast lift. Breakfast in cafe across street was excellent too!

Review 30:A vending machine with cold drinks would be a nice addition.

Review 31:The hotel is located just 5 minutes walking distance from the main station in a small street. The hotel is on the 5th and 6th floor of an office building. We had a twin room which was on the 6th floor. The staff was very nice and helpful. As the hotel does not offer breakfast you get a discount at the restaurant Kiila for their breakfast buffet. Next to the reception are locker where you can store your luggage after check out.

Review 32:The bathroom is tiny, and it hasn't a place where to put towels. I was there 2 night, so it wasn't a real problem, but the room wasn't cleaned in the middle of my stay.

Review 33:Quite clean and very near to the center.

Review 34:It's very centrally located and easy to find. It was very inexpenisve so we didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. The room was small, but nicely decorated, quiet and clean. Reception was friendly, check-in and check-out quick and easy. We were able to borrow an iron when we needed it. We would recommend it anytime.

Review 35:The bathroom is extremely small and the shower is not in a tub so after one shower the whole bathroom would be wet...

Review 36:We like the location best, it's easy to find and within walking distance from the Helsinki central station, which means it's also within walking distance to all the popular churches and parks.

Review 37:There was construction about water supply during the night of stay, but everything else was really good!

Review 38:location was excellent! Just next to the shopping center of Helsinki Central station is like 5 minutes by foot.

Review 39:Fridge had cool and hot mode(?) of course it was set to hot mode. Loud talking on early morning.

Review 40:Close to citycenter, agreements with local cafes for breakfast, nice staff, cool elevator. Free coffee and tea. Simple wifi password:)

Review 41:-A bit funny entrance to hotel. You enter into a small hallway with stairs and an elevator. Hotel sign is only on a elevator button (6th fl). -Our room had 2 (!) front doors, the first was broken (looked like sort of forced entry) and didnt close/lock.lol. im thinking why not repair that.

Review 42:Staff was very helpful. Location is super.Rooms were clean and tidy.

Review 43:The heater did not work at all. We were freezing most of the time. Had to turn up the bathroom floor heater to maximum & switch on all lights to gain a bit of warmth. It was a Sunday so the reception was closed by 9pm - we couldn't ask anyone for help. Also, the bathroom is really tiny.

Review 44:Location was excellent, it was within easy reach to the Central railway station where the Finnair City Bus stops from the International Airport. The beds were comfortable and cosy. There was free tea/coffee available at the reception which was nice since it was winter cold outside.

Review 45:Rooms too hot, bathroom a bit small, but definitely good value for money

Review 46:Very central hotel, good sized rooms. Hair dryer and some toiletries. Good sleep at night. Friendly helpful staff. Luggage storage to do a bit more sight seeing, shopping on last day before flight home:-)

Review 47:The location of this hotel is excellent and offers access to so many shopping and transport facilities it is hard to beat. The staff are helpful, the room is clean and functional and the price is good value for money.

Review 48:the elevator is a little bit scary, but it's unique though.

Review 49:location is good. near shopping center and major attraction. the hotel is clean and comfortable. nice staffs.

Review 50:The Room with view to the next House, the very small room, no parking Spots available, the tiny bathroom

Review 51:I liked the Location in the City Centre and the nice guys at the reception

Review 52:The building itself is not nice at all, the elevator is scary. We've got the room next to the reception, it might be noisy sometimes

Review 53:Exactly same as the pictures! Room clean and comfortable. Very good location, right next to the torni tower with a rooftop vue on the city

Review 54:Reception is opened just at the exact hours, could be inconvenient if you're coming late

Review 55:Nice hotel in the center of Helsinki. No fridge in the room and for some reason just one shampoo and shower gel in Twin room. But great stuff and nice coffee at the reception. Will definitely recommend

Review 56:No separation between shower and toilet. Room too small. No shelves and hangers for coats were far from the entrance.

Review 57:Location was excellent. Internet was working OK and staff was very helpful, heated bathroom floor.

Review 58:Bit noisy and and a little messy. This may have been because work was being done on the building.

Review 59:Great location pleasant efficient staff. Excellent value for money.

Review 60:Friendly staff. Excellent location centrally placed. Bars, resturants & shops right on the doorstep. Very comfortable beds & rooms very clean. Value for money.

Review 61:I could only sit in my bed with my back against the cold wall, and there was no wall protector

Review 62:Coffee and tea free of charge; Fast and stable WiFi; Room was furnished relatively cheaply but with good taste;

Review 63:Walls are very thin, so you can hear people talking in other rooms or the corridor.

Review 64:The location of the hotel is awesome. From there, you can start any walking tour of Helsinki, or take any transport to other locations (Rail station is at 3 minutes walking, Bus station is at 5 minutes walking, ferry to various islands is at 10 minutes walking). Simply perfect. The staff was extremely kind and helpful at all time. The room, which was in the back of the hotel, was small but comfortable (Bed, table, chair, hanger). Bad was also small but complete.

Review 65:bathroom located against inside walls so no window.

Review 66:excellent location, very easy to find from the train station. good for if you want just a place to sleep and leave your stuff. wifi great and decoration nice.

Review 67:Rooms near reception is quite noisy, can hear people talking in the reception.

Review 68:Friendly staff, location near to central railway station, supermarkets and cafe.

Review 69:The hotel charged the room rate to my credit card right after I booked the room, though it says "Free cancellation." The hotel explained that it would return the money to me if I cancel the booking. However, I would suffer exchange rate loss if I do so. Anyway I didn't cancel the booking in the end.

Review 70:1. The hotel is close to the Central Station, and the central bus station, just about 5-10 min walk. 2. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. 3. There's a self-service luggage storage room with lockers, which is very convenient to us. 4. There's free coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. 5. Staff are helpful. 6. Wifi is strong enough. 7. Receptionists can speak good English. 7. Good value for money.

Review 71:Room cleaning only when indicated in reception or by putting a hanging note outside the room, closed windows don't isolate from cold very well (most nights radiator was used to compensate)

Review 72:Great location (12min walking from harbour, 7min from train station, 5min from Kamppi bus station, less than 100m from Stockmann, lots of bars and restaurants in the surroundings), helpful receptionist

Review 73:No bad experience. My initial room was far too small but when I complained they gave me a bigger room at no extra cost.

Review 74:The service from the staff is superb.

Review 75:Price/Quality. It is a 2 star hotel but yet you are facing a +100 EUR pricing. Rather expensive in my opinion.

Review 76:Location is awesome. Staff is friendly.

Review 77:Room is quite small & compact. The pillow is too soft.

Review 78:Great location at the city center. Easy to walk around for sightseeing & shopping as it's right next to Forum & opposite of Stockmann. Hotel staff are nice & helpful.

Review 79:The location was excellent. You get exactly what you pay for, nothing more and nothing less. Breakfast was not included but they had some offers for hotel guests at the café right across the street. Very nice!

Review 80:Our room faced onto the street. It was very very noisy from the patio bars below. There are only a few rooms that face onto the street ( we were just unlucky to get one of them). Having said that the first night it was raining so there was no patio action and therefore we had a quiet night sleep.

Review 81:Location was great.

Review 82:It's not a big room but we weren't there to stay at the hotel. It's just perfect during a city trip.

Review 83:We stayed one night but it was really great. It's clean and comfortable.

Review 84:Our second stay was last minute - we were given a room right beside the reception desk (double doors so noise from reception was not a problem). The bathroom was so tiny that the shower was actually over the toilet!

Review 85:Small area for shower.

Review 86:Grate deal for the payed money. There is a possibility to go for the breakfast at two locations, suggest to go to KIIlA, 7 EUR for a buffee, good food.

Review 87:breakfast in a cafe outside was pretty lame for the price payed. not really bad but a bit boring as in all places we've been except our last stop.

Review 88:Simple no-nonse hotel located in the perfect spot. staf is friendly and helpfull. Wifi is powerfull and the city is a mere minute walk away.

Review 89:The breakfast is not included in the room price. You have to pay 7€ at a restaurant nearby the hotel.

Review 90:The hotel is very close to the station and the city's main attractions. The room was very clean and the personnel were friendly and helpful.

Review 91:Front desk employee told us our room wasn't ready and asked that we wait and said he would inform us when it was. An hour passed, we returned and he had forgotten who we were and that he had told us to wait

Review 92:Great location; clean comfortable room.

Review 93:great value for money. clean, comfortable, felt safe, great location and friendly staff. have stayed a couple of times at this hotel and would stay again :)

Review 94:Says that right at the front desk, if you thought it was 5 star you didn't check it out and should have paid more. Location is very central in the heart of the city, room is clean and roomy, open closet and drawers are roomy also. Nice to have a couch and desk, bathroom is more than sufficient. Breakfast plentiful and good, whats to complain about, NOTHING.

Review 95:Everything - close to train station, excellent wifi, plenty of space in our room, great free coffee by front desk, safe place to store luggage, friendly and competent staff. This is a great value for the budget minded traveler.

Review 96:Front rooms can be noisy due to the restaurants and bars downstairs. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for those adjusting from a big time zone change. The bathroom is tricky but manageable.

Review 97:Great location! Nice clean decoration style. Very good internet. Good amenities and services. We had a tranquil stay.

Review 98:Perfect location in city centre and walking distance to a lot of attractions that we wanted to see. Room was clean and all we needed for our 2 night stay. Having coffee and tea available all the time adds such a nice touch to any establishment.

Review 99:Not the hotels fault but as it is central you can hear a nearby nightclub quute loudly on Friday nights. Wifi had poor connection and hitel tv remote was not working properly, but we were not there for those facilities. Could hear people in next room easily.

Review 100:I like that they were organised. We checked in after midnight and they made measures for allowing us access without us even asking so they cater for late flights without any hassle. Gave me a text and email of gaining access to room which was brilliant. Rooms were nice and clean. Great location for ease of access to everything.

Review 101:None

Review 102:The hotel was near the biggest shopping store, Stockmann , the Senate Square and the Marina. The staff, especially Valterri , was very accomodating and answers all our queries patiently. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and will definitely stay here again.

Review 103:no phone; room wasn't very clean; peeling paint; very awkward shower; very poor sound insulation (I could hear everything the neighbor was saying, for example)

Review 104:friendly front desk; simple, effective renovation

Review 105:The conditions were a bit humble, but I was prepared and knew that this is normal for that level of prices in Helsinki.

Review 106:The location is excellent, the staff is helpful. The breakfast at the cafe next door (an extra price, discounted for Finn guests) was just what is needed to start a day full of outings.

Review 107:This hotel is close to the historic centre. All the places of interest is near by. You dont need public transport if you can walk in a radius of 1.5 kms.

Review 108:good location and were able to accommodate a late check in. Hotel Finn has a discounted breakfast at two near by places which were both excellent and great value for money.

Review 109:The entrance is a little awkward.

Review 110:The most efficient and relaxed room Very relaxing for female solo travellers. Perfect bed.The tea supply is wonderful

Review 111:Fanstastic location, cafe opposite great for breakfast, hotel staff were lovely. Room compact but had everything I needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 112:No wardrobe, no drawers, no air con, unable to open windows, with curtains open beautiful view of offices opposite & vice versa, music bar downstairs noisy.

Review 113:Nothing

Review 114:It is a bit noisy from the pubs and bars which go on till late in the night especially the one which is right downstairs but we managed to sleep fine. Very small and tight bathroom

Review 115:It was very convenient as it's close to the train and bus stations. As our flight arrived late and we needed somewhere convenient it was a superb place to stay. The room was very clean and although we had to let ourselves into the hotel (reception was closed by the time we arrived) and find our rooms, that was easy enough to do. The receptionist was very friendly when we finally met her the next day.

Review 116:Loved everything about this place. Superb location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely quirky hotel. Couldn't ask for better, will definitely be visiting again.

Review 117:Hotellin sisustus tummine kapeine käytävineen on aika hurja ja synkkä ja siksi ei kovin miellyttävä. Onneksi huoneessa oli isot ikkunat joka toi valoa tummuuteen.

Review 118:Isot avattavat ikkunat, keskeinen sijainti

Review 119:Noisy room. Could easily hear conversations in the lobby. Tiny toilet with a tiny sink. One of the receptionist was rather cold and aloof.

Review 120:Great location.

Review 121:The shower and the toilet are in a very small space, so after showering the bathroom is very wet. There is also no possibility in the room to open a window, for getting fresh air. When we woke up, the sun was shining on our windows and it felt like a hothouse.

Review 122:The beds were comfortable and the location of Hotel Finn is very convenient. Within 1 minute you are in the centre of Helsinki.

Review 123:After check out, I was informed by mail about my forgotten bag with mobile devices cables.Later it was given to my colleagues as they took their luggage from the luggage department of the hotel

Review 124:Nothing!

Review 125:Very convenient to centre of town, good decor, lovely art on hall walls. Comfortable, and very good value for money. Good cafe nearby for breakfast with yummy bread and cakes.

Review 126:Very shower bath, no cabin, you stand behind toilet bowl! Without slippers not recommended to go. Payment was taken from credit card while I want to pay by cash without my authorization.

Review 127:Good view from window

Review 128:I noticed noise from the street (e.g., street cleaners in the morning), but, luckily, it didn't last for long. The bed mattress was a tad hard.

Review 129:I arrived shortly after midnight and was welcomed by a sms message that gave me the codes for the doors I needed to pass. At the reception a friendly note awaited me with the room keys included. The room was very pleasant, clean and functional. Wifi worked well all the time. The hotel is very conveniently situated in a side street without traffic at the heart of Helsinki city. Access to all means of transportation in the neighbour street, included a taxi stand. I highly recommend this hotel!

Review 130:Smallest bar of soap I have ever seen. Light fittings need attending to. Why do Continental hotels not provide coffee and tea making facilities in the room?

Review 131:Very central. Staff, generally, very helpful

Review 132:The first thing about this hotel is It's cheap. £45 for 3 people(3 beds) and en-suite toilet/shower. Where else can you find this price?! Even the room are too big for 3 persons i guess. The beds are super comfy and the hotel is situated at the middle of the city centre. Easy for us to go outside to find foods or place to hang out.
