Reviews for Beaulieu
Review 1:The spa set up was a little odd with the relaxation beds right next to the gym and open windows into swimming pool. Had a massage which was ok, receptionist tried to charge me for spa visit as well despite agreeing when I booked that I could use the spa afterwards for an hour (it's usually an hour before but there wasn't time before the appointment). Left a bad taste after a relaxing couple of hours.
Review 2:Clean and cosy. Showers were new and powerful, great views over the slopes. The reception area was large with comfy seats, a small bar and table football and pool to keep us entertained. The swimming pool at the sister hotel was well maintained and a nice place to relax. Breakfast was good with lots of choice including fresh fruit and all very tasty.
Review 3:Nothing bad, however would have liked tea/coffee making facility in bedroom. Bar closed but we could utilise bar at Carlina next door
Review 4:Staff very helpful (even phoned ski hire shop on our behalf) and provided changing facilities and ski locker on our arrival
Review 5:Room was clean and modern, yet the wooden furnishings made it feel very cosy. We loved the breakfast buffet, library and lobby area and possibility to go swimming next door. Dinner was also exquisite. Free parking
Review 6:Lovely bilingual staff, pretty room ( ok a little small but perfectly big enough) and lovely decor throughout the hotel. Modern bathroom. The most amazing breakfast. Allow yourself plenty of time and appetite - exceptional quality and variety of food. Location 5 mins walk from centre and you can store your skis by the lift in sport 2000 who give a 10% discount. Will definitely return. We didn't try the restaurant but the menu looked superb. ( don't miss restaurant "cordee ". superb)
Review 7:Rooms were very small and sound does travel from one of the neighbouring rooms. This isn't a ski in/out hotel. Ski lifts are about a 10 minute walk away. Worth leaving skis in centre of town overnight so you don't have to carry back up the hill to the hotel
Review 8:Comfortable rooms, good size balcony, clean bathrooms with great shower and friendly staff. Access to Swimming pool in the adjacent Carlina Hotel. Good value for money.
Review 9:The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom was a good size with a very good bathroom.
Review 10:We had a lovely large family room with two bathrooms. All was spotlessly clean and full of character. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Views fantastic.
Review 11:taking the bags to the check in desk to see a notice saying check in at the adjacent hotel. Notice at car park would have been better. Noise of pool from next door hotel.
Review 12:comfortable and good view. Excellent breakfast in lovely surroundings.
Review 13:Good location and excellent value for money
Review 14:Wifi disappeared once cleaning lady start to clean the rooms
Review 15:Nice view. Good breakfast.

Review 17:No receptionist had to use Hotel Carlina
Review 18:Pool Breakfast Size of room
Review 19:Staff very nice and room was kept very clean.Breakfast was very good.
Review 20:lack of the parking on the premises
Review 21:the view from the balcony
Review 22:Poor WiFi connection
Review 23:small rooms, no services or staff in the hotel, but at the sister hotel.
Review 24:great location, nice breakfast
Review 25:The headache from drinking too much there.
Review 26:Location and rooms. Off season availability of these ski lodges is not to be missed.
Review 27:Small rooms
Review 28:Smiling and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast!
Review 29:Great breakfast, excellent location
Review 30:Breakfast was superb
Review 31:location, reception, breakfast, swimming pool
Review 32:nothing
Review 33:Nice breakfast, ability to use sister hotel pool facilities.
Review 34:Business groups, view ( had sort of back side balcony room) not panoramic
Review 35:Room facilities/ design. Clean, Breakfast
Review 36:boot room had nowhere to sit to put on boots
Review 37:friendly staff, clean rooms, plenty of hot water
Review 38:Great to have free parking but do need to drive to get on the slopes.
Review 39:The staff were wonderful, polite, attentive and always happy to help.
Review 40:The main reception manager could be unhelpful.
Review 41:The rooms were very warm The breakfast was excellent
Review 42:Excellent breakfast!
Review 43:We stayed at the Carlina as Beaulieu closed for the season previous week. The non balcony rooms had a very small bathroom. A tight squeeze! However very clean.
Review 44:The pool and breakfast.
Review 45:interconnection door with another room, we were woken late in the evening by people trying to open the door and talking.
Review 46:Location, use of sister hotels swimming pool, lounge area
Review 47:The rooms are clean and have everything you need. Good facilities and an excellent breakfast! The hotel's in a good location - we would definitely recommend and stay again!
Review 48:The hotel was very clean and the room warm and cosy. The staff were also very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, which I wasn't expecting for two stars. We also thought the price was excellent for a five minute walk to the slopes. We copied another reviewer and asked the hotel for the recommendation for ski hire and got a discount at a hire shop right by the slopes where we could keep our skis and boots each night. This was definitely worth doing as the walk back to the hotel would have felt steep if we'd been in boots and carrying skis. All in all we would definitely return.
Review 49:Wifi was very poor and could only be used in restaurant area or reception. Couldn't qaccess in the rooms. Rooms on the small side for 2 people. Saying that shower excellent.
Review 50:Good hotel and fact you could use the sister hotels facilities made it worth returning to. breakfast was good and location fairly central. Only 5 min walk from centre.
Review 51:No ski equipment drying room but not a problem as the hire shop (twinner intersport)took all equipment back each evening ready for the next day.
Review 52:Travelled with a group of friends, staff very helpful. Allowing us use of facilities next door on last day to store bags shower etc. pool in complex is good. Rooms are small but comfortable and very we'll equipped with a great bathroom. Good range of continental breakfast. Maximum 5 minute walk from the lifts. Would certainly stay again!
Review 53:Check-in ft 5 p.m. Have never seen such late hours elsewhere Very weak Wi-Fi Staff hardly ever cleans snow in-front of the hotel, so you have to walk over snowdrifts or puddle (luggage in hands makes it even more difficult) Unpleasant staff at reception: they do everything you ask, but with faces like you owe them millions of dollars and never offer anything themselves (e.g. resident card for shuttle bus) Swimming pool: it is located in the hotel next door and you have to walk through the street; there is no changing rooms. It is better not indicate that they have a pool. No place in the room to dry your clothes. Rooms are a bit noisy. To sum-up: owners/personnel have a very nice hotel with good infrastructure, but very low level of service. However, would still recommend it.
Review 54:Good location: close to the central street of the village, grocery store, lifts Great view on mountains. Very cosy nicely decorated rooms. Very clean. Tasty varied breakfast Ski-room available
Review 55:Our room was comfortable - in a "pine-décor" way, although small. The bed was comfy and breakfast was excellent. WiFi was reasonable. Close to the town.
Review 56:The bedroom was very comfortable with an amazing view of the mountains from the room and also the bathroom which had a window into the bedroom. The breakfast was also very good with a great variety of food on offer.
Review 57:We have just returned from our skiing holiday, we stayed at the Beaulieu, we had a double room (north facing) but were lucky enough to still have a view of the slopes, it was small & cosy but very clean and the beds were very comfy. The choice at breakfast is good, and sets you up for a good days skiing. Although not in the centre of town the walk in is short and really pleasant, looking in the local shops & restaurants along the way. The steps are a shortcut and make the walk a little easier. Our advice is to rent skis in the village and leave them at the rental shop, making the walk home easier. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel making the walk home after an evening meal no problem at all.You can easily use the hotel Carlina's facilities next door if you want the spa or pool or treatments. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 58:Rooms were tiny. The reception were friendly, however they seemed to be very dis-organised. We had to wait at the reception when we checked in because they had no idea where our room key was or even if the room was still empty. There was also a strong smell of what appeared to be diesel all around that reception area. Which was there all trip. I was travelling with my mother to visit friends in La clusaz and we had asked for two single beds, which when we arrived were in fact a double. I have stayed in La clusaz many times and I was expecting more of this hotel for the price you pay. My advice would be to get a residence apartment, as the facilities at the hotel were like a prettier alpine styled etap. - no coffee making facilities, fridge, etc in the room, the doors for both the toilet and the bathroom were broken. The breakfast adequate but was simply toast and yoghurts with a coffee machine. There was also a bar in the lounge that never had anyone behind it for our whole stay so we couldnt even drown our sorrows there :)
Review 59:The views from the rooms were all facing the piste, and so you had nice views out the windows. The hotel was easy to find. Room was clean
Review 60:The room had no tea/coffee making facilities. Although there was a bar, it was extremely difficult to get a drink. We waited for half an hour one night and the following night for more than half an hour. We failed to get any reaction from staff so did not have a drink at all!!
Review 61:The bathroom was well fitted out and very clean.
Review 62:Recently stayed with my son for a short break skiing holiday. Whle the hotel is not centrally located reaching the centre of town or the main ski lifts is only a matter of minutes once you have found the quickest routes. Our room was fairly tight but was scrupiously clean, had adequate facilities (although no Wifi connection) and great views of the slopes. We were on a B&B tariff so have no experience of the food apart from breakfast which was adequate. However there are a number of great restaurants in La Clusaz (La Ferme, L' Arbe and L' Ecuelle were some of our favourites) although early booking is advisable. Followed the tip of many others to hire skis by the lifts (Ski 3000) which avaoided the hassle of carrying boots and skis up and back to the hotel.
Review 63:Nothing
Review 64:I booked 2 star Beaulieu Hotel but on arrival we were actually booked into the sister hotel next door, Carlina 3 star hotel with balcony andmountain view at no extra cost. Amazing Hotel, Amazing holiday!Breakfast was amazing continental with lots of choice. Swimming pool wasperfect size & temperature (also empty if you time it right)
Review 65:A little expensive.
Review 66:Great location, close to town centre. Nice hotel with use of pool next door. 200m from slopes and ski hire. A dozen bars and restaurants nearby and a couple of clubs. Plenty to do and see in this picturesque town. Lovely views from the rooms, good breakfast.
Review 67:No bad points atall
Review 68:We had booked into Beaulieu but when we arrived the staff advised theyhad moved us to the Carlina next door (same hotel group) because therewas a large group staying and they didn't want our holiday to beruined. Therefore this review relates to the Carlina. The hotel waslovely, rustic but very comfy and the rooms were very comfortable.Lovely pool, great breakfast, excellent location and views over theslopes. Staff very helpful
Review 69:The room was a little bit small compared to the bathroom (big!)
Review 70:Location was perfect ! Breakfast as well, people nice. Swimming pool and spa acess very cheap and awazing.
Review 71:Unfriendly receptionist, thin walls, very expensive for a two starhotel, a long way to walk to the ski lift.
Review 72:Fact that you could use the spa and resataurant in the next door hotel.
Review 73:I forgot to enquire about a bath in the bathroom shower great butpersonal choice
Review 74:All staff welcoming, helpful, approachable, kindly hotel had goodstandards of comfort, cleanliness and service breakfasts were fab, allfresh produce constantly maintained and plenty of choice spacious andlots of areas for clients to persue different activities views ofmountain and overview of village/town - although above the town thesteps and short-cuts meant very near to shops and restaurants
Review 75:Rather surprised on going down for dinner the first night to be told'sorry we have two large parties in and there isn't a table for you'.However, Menu du Jour was very basic and if you took the limited 'Carte'it was quite expensive.
Review 76:Rooms were modern and clean. Only a short walk from town centre and somevery good restaurants. Ski lifts walkable but think there may be a busservice too.
Review 77:Why do we still have to pay for WiFi in some hotels? It is like havingto pay for hot bath water or use of a tv. An outdated and somewhatsharp practice. The hotel was also used for a Business training seminar and lounge areas sometimes a bit crowded.
Review 78:A friendly, comfortable ski- oriented hotel. Well informed staff whowere eager to serve and help with problems. B and b was very good andthe one evening we dined in the supper was very good. Although not themost convenient situation for the ski lifts, a regular shuttle bus wasavailable. Rooms were very comfortable and clean - excellent batroom!Ski room and lockers appropriately situated. Lounge and bar areas verycomfortable and appropriate for after ski.
Review 79:Nothing really - the only little grumble would be that the bar wasn'tmanned all the time - so if you wanted a drink you had to hunt down amember of staff to serve you.
Review 80:Great location - just outside village centre with great views over theslopes. Lots of decent restaurants just minutes away.
Review 81:The walk to the main ski lifts is very long indeed, especially withequipment!! Phone ahead and get a ski locker, but I would certainlysuggest staying closer to the slopes for skiing if you can....
Review 82:Clean and tidy
Review 83:ridiculous price for tiny room in roof space for 3 adults, 330 euro per night, distance from ski lifts
