Reviews for La Chèvre d'Or
Review 1:Well you could take the bus or have a car to get to Nice etc. Depends upon whether this is a complete chill out or just staying in the hotel. The bill, wow!
Review 2:Fantastic hotel, wonderful view, quite location outside Nice. 2 star restaurant a knock out.
Review 3:everything was excellent except the dinner resturant upper the reception.. it is super expensive with low amount of food with no taste at all.. the concierge was not that helpful when I want to rent a car.. I went to Monaco and rent the same car with half price
Review 4:Great hotel.. I recommended it for a honeey moon trip.. AMAZING
Review 5:The tranquility was lovely, as was the views from the room and terraces. Looked after well by all the staff. The Michelin restaurant was pure heaven
Review 6:Room was tiny. Nothing close to what was pictured on line so that was disappointing. For 550 Euros we expected a better room, especially given the photos on the website. Pool was very small.
Review 7:View was fabulous. Jacuzzi was small but very nice view.
Review 8:As soon as you walk through the valet, you'll realize you're in paradise!! Lots of sculptures with break taking views, amazing to explore! This is akin to Willa Wonka the Chocolate Factory, the paradise sans chocolate version. You'll find your oasis in this place. So glad I took the plunge and stayed a night!
Review 9:We wanted to order some food to take down to the viewing terrace where we had lounge chairs which "wasn't possible" per waitress
Review 10:This is a place to go out of the way for. Perfect scenery, service, food, comfort, concierge and valet service worry-free. Beautiful and worth every cent.
Review 11:Staff was a little stuffy although very professional
Review 12:Incredible property. Views and location are unmatched on the Cote d'Azur. Can't wait to go back in the future
Review 13:not knowing the room facilities, some have partial or no sea view, categories are very !! vague, you need to know room numbers and hotel layout, which, is difficult as all rooms are individual due to locations in the streets.
Review 14:the junior suite (we had to upgrade to sea view with terrace) but worth it!! room 28 is superb! View out of this world!!
Review 15:Quite noisy due to tourists walking through the main thoroughfare and staff rattling crates of bottles every night after midnight. Limited space and seating around the main pool area, breakfast over priced at €38 each. Building work on-going during our stay so listening to the jackhammer whilst sat at the pool is poor for nearly €1,000 / day.
Review 16:Staff were excellent, views terrific, car park very small but the valet parking team were great. Food was good.
Review 17:Only place to eat because it was a Monday night was hotels main restaurant and, although the food was very good, it was prohibitively expensive. Other places in town closed on Monday night.
Review 18:Staff excellent. Facilities beautiful.
Review 19:nothing except the price of dinner in their non-michelin star restaurant. the service was fantastic. the food was good, but not memorable. if i could do it again i would not eat there - but i would certainly have a glass of wine there to enjoy the mind-blowingly gorgeous views.
Review 20:the setting took our breath away. they upgraded our standard room by two levels and after 10 nights in a tiny budget hotel we were giddy about the huge windows with spectacular views, the marble bathroom with jacuzzi etc. I would highly recommend staying in Eze overnight rather than just visiting by day. When the sun goes down it is magical to walk the deserted streets of the old town. I will never forget it.
Review 21:Nothing to be honest, our stay was fantastic.
Review 22:Everything was just perfect! William and the staff for fantastic. Hope to see you again soon Felix the cat lol
Review 23:The views were outstanding; the staff were wonderful; the food was spectacular; the rooms were spacious and lovely. They paid attention to every last detail from the moment you park your car to the moment you leave. Lovely gardens. We'll be back when we can afford it!
Review 24:Cuisine was artistically presented but a gastronomic disappointment. Bedroom was roomy and comfortable but having to go down a steep flight of stairs to bathroom and to access clothes in small storage closet and drawers was an uncomfortable arrangement. In our opinion, way overpriced.
Review 25:Spectacular view of Beaulieu, Cap-Ferat, and beyond. Beautifully appointed, lovely gardens and sculptures..
Review 26:Price :) (seems some overpriced) Usual rooms are quite small, indeed Electricity socket in the bath was not working Soundproofing (you easily can hear people on the streets) Price in the 2*-Michelin restaurant)
Review 27:Almost everything: Staff Location Views Level of service (!) Food in the 2*-Michelin restaurant
Review 28:Very hard to find anything that was not excellent . Maybe change candies for chocolate in room.
Review 29:You are not paying for a room...you are paying for an experience.
Review 30:There was 3 of staying and we were advised that a junior suite would fit our purpose as there was a large double bed and a sofa bed - my friend slept on the sofa bed and said it was one of the most uncomfortable night's sleep she had ever had - so be wary. We did tell the staff and they were apologetic and offered us a discount which was much appreciated.
Review 31:The staff were excellent. We had a wonderful dinner at L'Eden restaurant. The view from our room was out of this world, pure luxury. The master bed was divinely comfortable and the bathroom had everything you needed and more.
Review 32:we loved everything
Review 33:staff was top notch the location was incredible the food at La Chevre d'Or was amazing and the atmosphere every where you went was so comfortable and inviting!
Review 34:Bonjour, We had booked a table at la Chèvre d'Or on the first floorrestaurant the night of our hotel stay. After drinks and canapés on yourbeautiful deck we were shown to a table on the second floor which waslike a small private dining room. It lacked atmosphere, music and thebetter frontal view which we were looking forward to. Two other couplesshared the room and we all had to whisper so as not to interrupt theothers or share our conversations!! We couldn't wait to leave! Weasked to be moved and also several times to turn some music on so wedidn't have to whisper, but to no avail... We decided to skip desertand went back to the terrace for coffee, desert wine and more relaxedconversation.. The staff and food were excellent, but had we known, wewould have been placed in that tiny room we would have booked adifferent night or restaurant! Very disappointing dining experience forwhat should have been wonderful and memorable. For the head chef thankyou for a delightful meal and the staff for their friendly andprofessional service - but management please don't think it's okto put couples who want a 2 Michelin star dining experience into thatdead space... Kindest regards, Annie
Review 35:Hotel and it's position, staff, food and service are exceptional...
Review 36:Ostentation ,over decoration but little concern for guests comfortunless you super wealthy and can pay enormous amount of money it is notreally a place for an average person I have stayed in other Relais &Chateaux establishments and was always greeted in welcoming fashion ,here on arrival there was no water , fruit on top of it I was given asmokers room and I did specify that I need no smoker room the beds were2 singles joined together one was sagging whilst the other was bitbetter. I did pay around 340.00 euros for this sort of service In myview this represent very poor value and I would strongly dissuade anyonefrom staying at Chateaux Cherve D'or
Review 37:The location and views
Review 38:EVERYTHING! Was it a splurge... indeed but well worth it. The view, the food, the service! all 10* Although I travelled by myself, and stayed 1 night... it was a lovely experience. I look forward to returning and staying much longer. Merci
Review 39:It lacked a pool lounging area.
Review 40:Staying in this beautiful hotel was a real treat - before we even arrived I realised, from the correspondence with the concierge, that the service would be excellent and it exceeded even my expectations. Everyone from the front desk to the staff in the restaurants were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the views are out of this world and the Le Chevre d'Or Restaurant was excellent -delicious food and great service. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're planning to visit the beautiful little town of Eze.
Review 41:The Eden restaurant was vastly over priced and a truly dreadful experience. The menu choice was poor- no cheese course at a restaurant that claims to be a French restaurant! Our room was lovely but could have been cleaner.
Review 42:The gardens and pool are fabulous. Eze is very picturesque. The main mitchelin star restaurant is very good but very expensive. It was a shame that there were not more places to eat within Eze.
Review 43:We stayed for two nights and did not come across anything to complain about.
Review 44:The location is astonishing. Breathtaking views in a beautiful setting. A lovely room. Great restaurants. A staff that improve the value of the stay.
Review 45:Terribly bad training facilities. Restaurant staff only speak French and don't understand English and do not listen to the requests of their guests.
Review 46:The garden was not as good as the last time, as it was not so well maintained. Yet, the garden on the hill is superb.
Review 47:Good location, beautiful garden, magnificent view from the room.
Review 48:Lots of little bits of building work going on, which should have been conducted out of season. Restricted access to some of the beautiful gardens.
Review 49:Excellent restaurant and staff, great views and location, lovely atmosphere.
Review 50:Staff did not give us any privacy on arrival in our car. Charged us for valet on top of already large bill paid for the night. Service too pretentious for our comfort and room disappointing for price paid - very standard room.
Review 51:Beautiful Chateau, stunning views. Easy drive to Monaco. Good dining options.
Review 52:The staff were helpful & friendly. We were really lucky & were given an upgrade to a sea-view room with terrace which was gorgeous! Fantastic position in Eze allowing us to appreciate the surroundings in the evening when the coach tours had disappeared.
Review 53:Poor Service in restaurant Eden ... it took 90 minutes for the food to arrive after order was placed... Children running around uncontrolled ... Not classy !!!!!
Review 54:Location Facility
Review 55:Truly nothing.
Review 56:Everything! Exemplary staff, fantastic food (3 star Michelin restaurant), incredible views, perfect location. We asked to change rooms after our first night and they were happy to move us to a better room (better view, more space)at no charge.
Review 57:The bedding was not up to standard, lumpy pillows and bed that are attached so you can feel the join in a double. Not one mattress. Also there is noise from guests walking past, hard to control in an old hotel but annoying nevertheless.
Review 58:The location is exceptional, romantic and uplifting. Food is amazing. You can relax here but you are also close to Monaco and Nice. Set in a stunning old hill top town, so much to see and explore in the area. Not cheap but worth every penny.
Review 59:We were celebrating my wife's birthday. The staff were wonderful and the hotel and hillside village location was enchanting.
Review 60:les escaliers
Review 61:la situation
Review 62:The room was not value for money given the price charged.
Review 63:Would prefer a more substantial mini bar... which is good add-on sales for the hotel.
