Reviews for Hotel Haven

Review 1:Room not so clean as expected! Dust on furnitures and spots on windows, glass door and walls.

Review 2:Friendly staff and really stylish interior. Great size of room.

Review 3:The windows can't be opened. That's really a problem because it is warm in the hotel and there is no fresh air. Please find a solution

Review 4:Stayed here many time already. It is and stays the best hotel in Helsinki.

Review 5:This has got to be the best hotel in Helsinki. I loved it and can't wait to return. Friendly staff, beautiful lobby, great location, elegant room. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic with a hot and cold buffet. Location of the hotel is just a block from the Esplanade and City Center of Helsinki.

Review 6:No specific complaints per se. I just had extra high expectations, and somehow failed to experience a Wow effect. Also, I compared the hotel to other 5-star hotels I've been to, and Haven took a slightly "paler" position. Breakfast was fine, but not as diverse as one would expect in a hotel of this class (an omelette of your choice was charged extra). Against all odds, no sauna in Haven, either :)

Review 7:Top location, beautiful room décor, great view from the room (room type was Lux room with a sea view). The bed was comfortable and the atmosphere soft and soothing.A bowl of chocolates was a nice touch for my husband's birthday.

Review 8:This is a very comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant, Havis, and it is worth having a drink in the bar and paying the extra for a sea view. Location is good for transport and seeing the sights, and 10mins walk to station.

Review 9:Attentive staff, and problem solving capacidade also give suggestions of tourist sites , I had to 6 am breakfast before leaving the hotel a gentle care go beyong

Review 10:Great as usual, very pleasant and service minded staff. Very spacious and clean room, with all the required amenities. Great location, within 5-10 minutes walk from all the main attractions.

Review 11:Cleanliness of room (crumbs, uneven vacuuming, worn and stained information folders), rather rigid and abrupt manner of person in charge of restaurant

Review 12:Excellent location and facilities, pleasant staff at check-in

Review 13:Sliding door to bath, not possible to close completely - too cold in morning with AC on. Slow WIFI in room.

Review 14:Very nice hotel. Excellent location, staff's service, breakfast, bar and restaurants for dinner.

Review 15:You could hear easily noises from outsides, like from big boats in the morning. Not good. Quit hard to come to your room.

Review 16:Nice hotel and great location in Helsinki. Beautiful lobby area and nice rooms

Review 17:The noise of the lift very close to my room. I could hear it all night. The room had no view, breakfast was adequate but not outstanding, considering they had a fine restaurant next to the courtyard where it was served

Review 18:The staff were friendly and efficient I had travelled to attend a friend's wedding, and the bridal couple recommended this hotel. My only regret was that my room was close to the lift which I could hear going up and down all night!

Review 19:Nice hotel with a modern touch right at the centre of Helsinki. There is wonderful bar at the lobby with amazing choice of rums (although not opened until very late). Breakfast was also nice with all the seasonal forest berries.

Review 20:The cleanness of the room's furniture . The carpet and curtain of the room had many stains on them which really disappointed me. I thought as a five stars hotel, they would pay attention to this. I reaally felt bad in the beginning, but as i said , the staff and the location ( the view also of the room) made me continue staying in this hotel.

Review 21:The staff!! They are among the best staff i have ever met. They are welling to help you as much as you want. They are always smiling and do what you ask them willingly. This is my first time to Finland and they gave me the best image about Finnish people. I really thank the staff .. All of them.. About their hospitality and attitude .. You are the best. The location from my point of veiw was the best. It is very close ( 5 minutes walk) to the market square. Market square is one of the tourist attraction. Also the shopping streets are not far. I visited different hotels and found that our hotel has the best location. We stayed in lux sea view room. It really has a beautiful sea view. I loved it. It also has a coffee machine which was perfect! Over all, i am very happy to visit Finland and to stay in this beautiful hotel and met all those lovely people

Review 22:Staff did not know answers to simple shopping questions; and they did not attempt to find out and tell us later. The bed, the sofa, the chair were all long gone. No springs, lumpy, dirty. Needs a complete redo. The shower was tricky. Steep learning curve. Poor intro to room, area of the city, dining in/out of hotel. The regular staff must have been on holiday. Ugh! Oh, and double for the management.

Review 23:Breakfast was ok.

Review 24:The king sized bed is the old European style of putting two twins together and covering the mattresses with a pad. Trouble is you can still feel the crack down the middle. Amazed that anybody would want to sleep in a bed that makes cuddling uncomfortable.

Review 25:Breakfast was great. Location good if you want near the harbor and market. Right down the street from Senate Square too.

Review 26:Breakfast was not as good standard as everything else. Same as much cheaper hotels and not as good as Fabian it's sister hotel.

Review 27:Everything but breakfast.

Review 28:Excellent location, friendly staff, parking garage if necessary, really nice interior design in the room, very clean and spacious, fantastic sea view. Overall - definitely recommend for both business and romantic getaways.

Review 29:The lounges were a little too dark for me and the Spa was permanently closed which was not on the website and I was looking forward to that. However, the sister Hotel Camp, was a walk away but the first reception when I booked in did not tell me this but only when I asked a second time to another member of staff. There was a Spa facility in the hotel but for reasons unknown it was now closed permanently. What a shame as I booked in the hotel as I saw it has a spa.

Review 30:my last review I got muddled as I had stayed in Kouvola hotel so previous one review reflected that but The Haven was superior in comfort. Service to airport, no long wait for Taxi and room was top dog. Harbour was great as there was a wonderful market where you could eat local food produced locally. Lots of boat sightseeing too.

Review 31:With so many extras provided, including a TV in the bathroom, it was unfortunate that they didn't provide the standard tea making supplies complimentary. Every other hotel we staying in in Scandinavia did, all less expensive.

Review 32:Everything about this property was really exceptional - especially the comfort of the room, the service provided by the staff, the breakfast, and the location.

Review 33:The cleaning was a bit sloppy, e.g. after an afternoon on the town, we had to ask for new glasses at the counter, as they had not been replaced but left on our room's table. The hotel charges extra for services that are often included in a 5* hotel, e.g. choice of omelette at breakfast. Moreover, the breakfast serves only one type of tea (seemed to be Assam). For us who love tea, that seemed as quaint as if someone offered coffee only black or with milk. It is better with plain hot water and a variety of tea bags. My friend is gluten intolerant, and the hotel had only one kind of (plain) bread suitable for her palate. The wifi is excellent, but the room has no pod-coffee machine.

Review 34:The location of the hotel is fabulous, downright close to the ferries and the waterfront, and just a short taxi trip from the train station if you arrive from the airport. The staff is courteous, helpful, and curious enough (mainly) female. The hotel seems not to be too crowded, although fully booked at the time of our visit.

Review 35:It is genuine 5-star hotel, but for a very convenient price. We've received a complimentary upgrade of the room. You can tent a bicycle free of charge, if available. Breakfast is very tasty and you taste some local food.

Review 36:Hotel price toward received value (in comparison to other 5* hotels), no wellness, no tea in the room, no selection in cushions, facilties outdated (e.g. airco), no turndown service (they put duvet on the ground...), very limited breakfast buffet, airco vent in bathroom could not be switched off! no fresh air supply, apparently there is no star rating system in Finland but hotel is advertised as 5*

Review 37:Staff is very friendly and accommodating, excellent location

Review 38:no view... Curtains could protect better from the white nights light...

Review 39:huge bedroom and bed Staff is smily and helpful Great location - all the sightseeings can be reached by walk from the hotel

Review 40:Haven is the most beautiful Hotel in the center of Helsinki. Everything looks cosy and the reception welcomes you to relax. Rooms are decorated with style. Bathroom is big and bathtub gives a nice spa feeling. Haven't slept this good in a long time.

Review 41:Very little about this hotel not to like!

Review 42:The room was great. Large, comfortable, great bathroom. Breakfast, and restaurants very nice too. Also the location proved to be a great starting point to explore on foot in any direction.

Review 43:Overall the hotel was excellent. The location was very convenient, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts were excellent and the meeting rooms were well set up.

Review 44:When we booked, we thought it had a pool, spa and sauna. Apparently it was down the street somewhere? (We are both swimmers; like the spa/sauna too)

Review 45:Loved the location, staff, and 1st floor set-up. Very nice! Breakfast = very good! "Best single malt collection this side of Scotland!" says my husband.

Review 46:tv in the bathroom didn't work. light bold weren't in front our room wasn't changed doing our stay. not five star quality. cracks in the ceiling under the shower=(

Review 47:Good service, friendly staff.

Review 48:We ate in Sundmans Krog.A very disappointing evening. Food was cold and unpalitable and had to be sent back. It was obviously reheated and just sent back. Staff were not friendly and it would have been a nice gesture had our 2 glasses were given as compliments of the house. In fact we were sorry we had chosen to eat there!

Review 49:Staff on reception were exceptionally helpful and friendly at all times. Our room was spacious, beautiful with a very comfortable bed.

Review 50:Breakfast area was small and crowded and not many choises of food available. Otherwise the food was good but I missed more pancakes etc.

Review 51:Fantastic location, very nice room, comfortable bed, very quiet room, fabulous bathroom

Review 52:Nothing.

Review 53:Friendly front desk staff, upgraded to bigger room, comfortable/ quiet sleep. Also, had a drink at the bar with a colleague. Nice atmosphere and friendly bartender.

Review 54:Normally I wouldn't even write these but in a hotel of this star rating even the smallest things become annoyances because you expect perfect: the toilet flush button didn't work properly, the sink was a little clogged and even though the room manual said you could attach you phone/mp3 player to the TV system, there was no lead or Bluetooth system to do that.

Review 55:The room was excellent, the service was excellent and our stay was excellent. There's not much more to say here

Review 56:Laundry. Suit € 40,- Roomservice adds € 20,- to the bill No coffee or tea in the room. € 5,- for a teabag Bit over the top, my opinion!

Review 57:Staff is excellent Rooms are new and beautifull Food is magnificent Very quite rooms windows and walls A lot of Corps Diplomatique in the hotel while i was staying there. Must be for a reason :-)

Review 58:Small bathroom without bathtub. Breakfast without much choice.

Review 59:The staff of the front desk was very helpful. It is a small hotel with a perfect location nearby everything.

Review 60:Would prefer to have a shower over a bathtub as the bathroom floor gets always messy due to the glass wall is to my opinion too short.

Review 61:It was our 2nd time and if possible, we enjoyed our stay even more than last time. The standard is very high for Helsinki. The service at the reception was professional and super friendly, the rooms are elegant and at the same time cozy. We also enjoyed the sea view & good breakfast selection. Will definitely return on our next visit to Helsinki.

Review 62:There was nothing I did not like.

Review 63:The hotel was excellent. Beautiful and spacious room, very convenient arrangement. Cozy, yet elegant. Modern decor. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Great location in the best part of Helsinki, next to the market place. Nice library style bar in the lobby.

Review 64:Not having tea and milk provided in the room with the kettle and cups.

Review 65:Liked the fact that I was allocated a room with a view of the harbour. Liked the bed, the room and the service. Excellent breakfast provided. Liked the fact that I was not charged room service fee for a 'tea set' at 6.30 am.

Review 66:Having to leave!

Review 67:Location The staff in all areas. The food in both restraunts is exceptional quality, cooked to gourmet standard served by attentive staff who know what they are placing in front of you and do it with pride.

Review 68:A nice, peaceful room, good bed. Hotel Haven's bar is one of the best in Helsinki, a cosy place to have a drink in a nice atmosphere, even if you're not a hotel guest.

Review 69:Had to pay for tea in the room

Review 70:Location close to shops and harbour and lovely restaurants Room and bed was so comfortable we loved everything Lovely breakfast fantastic whiskey selection biggest we have ever seen

Review 71:Staff a little cold but not unpleasant. Could be just a culture issue.Location is quiet, pleasant and set on the picturesque pier of MarketSquare but not the most central for those who do not like to walk much.

Review 72:Nice warm decor. Lovely courtyard to have breakfast in. Room wasspacious and comfortable and with good amenities. Location is in avery nice quiet corner near the harbour area, not far from the scenicshopping street (Esplanade)and Senate Square. Nice restaurantsnearby. Complimentary bottles of water each day, which is nice for aEuropean hotel.

Review 73:No sauna despite Finland.

Review 74:This is one of those hotels where everything works, smoothely. The deluxe room is spacious and has it all. The staff does all to meet your needs. The bar is really really special and has the largest whiskey and rum collection north of Germany.

Review 75:This excellently positioned hotel made us feel most welcome. The staff were all highly professional, obliging and friendly. The designers show an eye for detail and an appreciation of the needs of international travellers. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

Review 76:No major dislikes, a couple of small quibbles. 1) When you exit the room and remove the keycard from the slot, everything switches off immediately, rather than with a delay as in some hotels. A bit irritating especially as the slot is on the "wrong" side of the door so you fiddle in the dark. And the door is very heavy! 2) The TV picture is good quality, but the channel selection/changing system is rather slow and cumbersom. And it would be better to have a printed card with the channel list rather than having to struggle with the menu (maybe there was one but I didn't see it) 3) Loud and inappropriate music in the breakfast restaurant. I asked for it to be turned down (as I often do) and it was immediately, but when will hotels start thinking about how sound affects mood?

Review 77:The room - "Style," one up from "Comfort" was spacious, intelligently laid out, nicely lit. Enough closet and storage space (with real hangers not the awful theft-proof ones with little metal things you have jiggle. Shower rather than bath which I would have preferred - perhaps some rooms have them - I didn't specify. Service was friendly, courteous and efficient and the breakfast was excellent. The gym was small but reasonably well equipped.

Review 78:Could not get a late check-out... But it happens...

Review 79:The room and bathroom, very nice ans cosy, location is just perfect, staff is friendly... For me the best hotel in Helsinki

Review 80:Room service was poor (I was travelling with a dog, so I used it a lot). Not possible to get a soft boiled egg whether I chose 4 or 7 minutes -it was served raw (the white not cooked) and cold! The door knob fell ofone of the cabinet doors, but couldn't be fixed till Monday (I wasthere Friday till Monday) so had to pry the door open using myfingernails. I had advised that I was travelling with a crutch and abroken leg - but I had to carry my own luggage up. My room was placed asfar from the elevator, as at all possible! Service was, generallyspeaking not what you expect of a 5 Star Hotel. There was a water kettlein the room - if you wanted coffee or tea you could call and they'dbring you a teabag for 5 euros! Room service was 10 or 20 euros extradepending on the meal! I was not impressed with this hotel and I wouldnot stay there again!

Review 81:Location, cleanliness, beds.

Review 82:Haven's location is perfect and we really enjoyed the view to the sea. The breakfast is really enjoyable and the service is great. The best thing about Haven is its special, wonderful atmosphere - once you experience it, you'll always want to return.

Review 83:Glass sliding door to the bathroom (Style Room) gives very little privacy. Personally I would prefer a normal door.

Review 84:Excellent breakfast Very quiet Location Neutral but comfortable decor Inhouse restaurant (Havis)

Review 85:Nothing, I've been there last year but my husband had not .. he thought was fantastic too

Review 86:the cozinness of the room, the wonderful views with our paid upgrade, the top notch staff at front desk, so knowledgeable and friendly, the breakfast room

Review 87:The issue with watching a movie, the breakfast buffet could be a little more extensive.

Review 88:The room, the location, the staff, the bath products, the decor, the bed.

Review 89:My parents had a room facing the road (hotel's entrance). They could hear a lot of traffic noise.

Review 90:My son and I shared a room that was toward the back of the hotel. It was nice and quiet. Liked the black-out curtains - they worked very well to keep the summer sunlight out.

Review 91:A wonderful hotel with great location and walking distance to everything Helsinki has to offer - and bikes for use in a city very amenable to biking. Great, attentive service and a spectacular restaurant.

Review 92:Cleanliness of a 5-star-hotel should be on a higher level, than here. Bed linen and towels were clean. But, for example, there was a big smudge on the carpet right near the bed. Bathroom was good, clean (the bathtube itself, towels, sink). But the brush for the toilet bowl was unclean (and remaind unclean my whole stay). Toilet paper reel was already started by a previous guest (not a 5-star-tradition). Bathrobe had a torn hanging loop (also strange for 5 stars). But those are all details, generally the hotel is very good.

Review 93:A very good location, a silent street. Close to the main sights. Clean and cosy room, a big bathroom, nice and soft beds. A good Finnish breakfast in the inner yard's restaurant, a very pleasant place.

Review 94:Despite a welcoming note from the manager welcoming us for our anniversary - they said Bookings.com only reserved the room for one so we had to pay additional $ as well the price was higher for the weekends which was not our understanding

Review 95:The location right on the harbour with loots of restaurants nearby. The restaurant Havis in the hotel was excellent Accommodating staff

Review 96:There wasn't one

Review 97:The room was lovely, friendly staff, good breakfast with an excellent drinks bar and great location

Review 98:Wonderful comfy beds. Great staff! Very cosy bar.

Review 99:The food in the restaurant was overpriced (although it was tasty).

Review 100:Exceptional location, good service

Review 101:The helpful, friendly staff were fantastic - you could ask for nothing better. The breakfast was heaven. We would love to return.

Review 102:Amazing staff! Very friendly and service minded.

Review 103:Beautiful facilities and help friendly staff and a magnificent location!!

Review 104:The staff was very gracious and hospitable. The location was great.

Review 105:The Style room was excellent and had a sea view Good service at the reception No queues at breakfast

Review 106:Breakfast could be more interesting.

Review 107:Very friendly staff.

Review 108:sorry

Review 109:The relaxed environment and the very helpful staff

Review 110:Parking set up but at least it does work

Review 111:Outstanding room - very helpful reception staff.

Review 112:HELPFUL STAFF GOOD BREAKFAST GREAT LOCATION

Review 113:location!!

Review 114:Very nice staff, great location, nice gym shame that I spent just one night!

Review 115:Wifi very slow at times, ended up using my own 4G connection instead at additional expense

Review 116:Perfect hotel and staff ! A real enjoyable moment !

Review 117:Excellent service, room and food.

Review 118:Shower was difficult to use. Toilet whithout pidee. Restaurant for breakfast was too little.

Review 119:Location was Best. Room was nice.

Review 120:The view to the sea (so get a room on that side!) Nice design Comfortabel & spacious room

Review 121:Central position and cheerful and happy staff
