Reviews for La Muntanya
Review 1:Room furniture and facilities basic. No kettle. Hairdryer hose had holes. One chair. Toiletries not replenished automatically.
Review 2:Good location, friendly staff
Review 3:The air-conditioning did not work (in all three rooms). There was no parking available. The description of the rooms said they all had views of either the sea or the mountain, two or our rooms looked at the building opposite. The jacuzzi was charged extra.
Review 4:Very near the beach. Fantastic service and very nice staff. Nice breakfast. The double deluxe room had a lovely view from the balcony.
Review 5:The hotel on the other side of the street has a nightclub and although you don't hear the music, the drunk people that go home in the middle of the night make a lot of noise.
Review 6:Very good location close to the beach. The breakfast was really nice with homemade pastries. Personnel was also friendly. The village Llafranc is a pretty pittoresque small village at the beach. Of course there are mainly tourists, but it is still nice and with good taste. From Llafranc you can easily walk along the coast to visit neighbouring villages which I can really recommend.
Review 7:Bathroom could have been better
Review 8:Brilliant breakfast with the genial host offering fruit from his trees and cooked omelettes with eggs from his own chickens
Review 9:The water pressure in the shower was terrible. The towels or bed sheets were not changed and the room was not cleaned during our 4 days stay. The wifi signal was poor.
Review 10:The location was good, close to the beach.
Review 11:Lovely hotel, amazing staff so welcoming!Everybody was so nice and we feel comfortable with our 8 months old baby. Breakfast is nice, wide choice and good omelette! Hotel close to the beach so easy to walk around and get back for nap time. Lovely roof terrace. Good value for money! No ladida but nice, clean and comfortable hotel!
Review 12:Maybe the room was a little small, the shower had you banging elbows on the plastic screen, the wardrobe was a little musty too, and could be a little noisy at times streetside, but overall no complaints.
Review 13:The location of the hotel in such a beautiful small resort. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly the beautiful girls on the front desk. The Breakfast offered was fine, just ask if you want anything egg related! The hotel is comfortable, perfectly located, and the rooftop jacuzzi was a real treat.
Review 14:i really think its a bit expensive for what it is? its quite basic hotel, really
Review 15:its a great spot very close to the beach of Llafranc. we had a nice room with a cute balcony to sit on in the afternoon sun
Review 16:Breakfast was continental and adequate with bread, fresh croissants, hams, cheese, tomatoes, fruit, jams and yoghurt. An omelette sign was visible but I never saw one being prepared or the potential of someone making one and was never offered one so disappointed. I should have asked and will next time. We travelled in oct nov so at end of season when quiet. No kettle in the room to make a hot drink however, when I went down I was able to use kettle and take tea back to our room.
Review 17:Staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Fresh, clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 301 with private terrace very nice. Hot tub experience was lovely and a small charge with a free glass of wine. Location great in centre of area close to restaurants and beach. Parking close by. Would definitely go again. Llafranc is quaint and beautiful with many similar areas around to explore by foot or by bus or car. . I am hoping to return next year to experience in season as we traveled in oct and will be sure to ask for omelette for breakfast.
Review 18:That we had to leave because our holiday was over!!!
Review 19:The spa and the included breakfast were great, we also loved our little balcony with a view, it was great for afternoon wine!!!
Review 20:Air-conditioning ineffective. No bins in the bedrooms. The shower in our first room was at ceiling height and shot across to the other wall so had to be held in the hand to use. On second day the power blew so we were moved room, which had a similar shower but slightly improved only by virtue of lower water pressure! Breakfast was OK but I was a bit grossed out by the egg boiling device which didn't appear to be cleaned daily. Crumbs on the tables. My travel companion thought the bed sheets were incontinence proof (i.e. plasticy feeling!). Reception was usually unattended, but then we were visiting off season.
Review 21:Great location close to beach.Reasonable priced minibar. Hot tub on roof (~5 eur for 30 mins, inc 2 glasses of win).
Review 22:The toiletries of small sachets of shampoo, shower gel etc were not replaced during our 5 day stay. We thought this was a bit mean. We had driven and knew from the booking details that there was free car parking in the vicinity. On arrival after a very long drive, the person on reception could not direct us to the parking area. This was probably a language issue but frustrating when tired.
Review 23:Very close to the beach, and yet very quiet. Spacious bedroom. Excellent breakfast and nice friendly atmosphere. Free Wifi available throughout the hotel.
Review 24:We did not like the noise from the revellers in town - but that was not the hotel's fault - as soon as September 1st arrived it quietened down. We would prefer to return in September.
Review 25:The staff were polite and friendly. Changes had been made since our last visit which were positive - though we did not go and see the hot tub as we do not like them. we went and ate in the Monte Carlo the sister hotel and the service and food were very good value.
Review 26:I like this hotel so much I almost don't want to share. Room and facilities are exceptional, but more than that it just had 'that feeling' for me, the thing you can't put into words and the staff and owner gave me a warm welcome that made me feel immediately comfortable and I visited this hotel on a trip around Europe so trust me I had a lot of hotels to compare it to.
Review 27:Nothing really, except perhaps breakfast would have been nice a little earlier than 8.30 on the other mornings we were there.
Review 28:Staff were very friendly and helpful - the manager insisted on being at reception before 7.00 when we had to leave early on the last day of our stay, and was concerned we would have the chance to have some coffee and breakfast early. We were given a complimentary session in the rooftop Jacuzi with glasses of wine provided and excellent views from there. The restaurant in the sister hotel a few meters away provided good value food.
Review 29:Family owned hotel with incredibly helpful staff made this hotel a real pleasure. The town is beautiful, quiet and a great place to unwind for a couple of days.
Review 30:The shower cubicle was too small.
Review 31:Small hotel with short staircase to first floor room. Receptionist Emma is very sweet and most helpful. The owner is also very amiable. It's a family run business.

Review 67:Friendliness of staff and management. Location very close to seaside and promenade. Breakfast. General comfort.
Review 68:You pay for the fact that Llafranc hasn't got many beds. Which can also be seen as a good thing.
Review 69:Llafranc
Review 70:Food Location Friendly service at all times Spotlessly clean 51 steps to the beach
Review 71:Proximity to the beach and town center.
Review 72:Excellent service and brilliant menu dia at the sister hotel, Monte Carlo

Review 79:very friendly staff.comfortable room great location near to the beach and restaurants. lovely breakfast good choice from buffett and staff cooked a good omelette
Review 80:Nothing!
Review 81:Everything about the stay at the hotel was excellent. Definitely return again and would recommend them. The resort of llafranc was so pretty too. Fabulous seafood restaurants and LA Leon was the best.
Review 82:The bed was not of the standard I expect from a hotel in 2014. It reminded me of the beds in cheap hostels I was sleeping in while bagpacking through Europe in the 80's.
Review 83:Close to the beach. And the very friendly receptionist.
Review 84:Nothing really. Close parking is a bit hit and miss. We found somewhere to park right next to hotel on first night, but having moved car next day had to find other places a bit further away. This was in low season so may be more of something to watch in high season.
Review 85:Great place. Llafranc itself is just wonderful. Lovely clean small and quiet resort; and this hotel is so close to the shore line it is just perfect. If you're wandering around the seafront you're always close enough to nip back to the hotel to pick up anything. The staff are very friendly and make an effort to understand English non-Spanish-speaking tourists. Breakfasts good.
Review 86:There was actually nothing to criticize!
Review 87:Location was excellent: very close to beach, restaurants etcetera. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and our room had a rooftop terrace with wonderful views of the sea andLlafranc itself. The hotel proved to be very good value for money.
Review 88:Can't find fault.
Review 89:Very pleasant, helpful staff; comfotable, clean room; nice breakfast; convenient location for restaurants, beach etcetera; reasonable price.
Review 90:Parking can potentially be a problem, although we found a place just around the corner. There is a bigger parking area up the street in case the streets themselves are full.
Review 91:Great breakfast, marvellous view from the roof, close to the beach. Very clean and tidy room.
Review 92:there was nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Review 93:This hotel is very nice. have stayed there 3 times now. helpful staff. very clean hotel. modern. good breakfast. cant fault it. location fantastic.
Review 94:That the holiday had to end!!!
Review 95:The hotel is in a great location. It is very near a great beach and all amenities. Llafranc is on a bus route to Palafrugell which is a good hub for other Costa Brava locations including Barcelona and Girona airports.
Review 96:Our stay at this hotel was very nice. It is extremly clean, the breakfast has everyhing , and the owner is very nice .He is preparing even an omlette for you if you want.It is very close to the beach. Has a very nice terrase on the roof with jacuzzi and you can admire the view from there. The ladies form from the reception were very helpful.
Review 97:Our stay coincided with the main spanish holiday, which made parking very difficult. Maybe the hotel could offer private parking for a cost for future patrons.
Review 98:The staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious, very comfortable with aircon. The hotel is very close to the beach front and excellent value.
Review 99:Nice smallish hotel just around from the main square and beach soconveniently located. Nice friendly staff and lovely buffet breakfastwith omelettes or fried eggs freshly cooked by the owner. They weredelicious. Try and book the rooftop jacuzzi as it is nice and relaxingand has great views of the bay. It is free unless you want aromatherapyoils added which are only 5 euros per room.
Review 100:No secure parking. Free parking 200 m away was ultimately okay but would have preferred more secure arrangement Didn't use the roof terrace, additional charge for hot tub etc.
Review 101:Location was good, room fine, breakfast was good. Good selection of local bars and restaurants. No all day breakfasts and English pubs.
Review 102:Wonderful staff - very friendly, personable, attentive and genuinely helpful. Great breakfast - Nice selection, garden picked tomatoes, plums, etc. Omelettes made to order. Location - one block from the beach, all the convenience of being close, but without the noise of the main strip. We stayed 7 nights and loved La Muntanya - it's the place to stay in Llafranc!
Review 103:Reception desk not always manned and chamber maids did not replenish toiletries. Plastic tooth mugs never replaced.
Review 104:Good clean basic hotel. Good breakfast. Close to beach and restaurants. Comfortable beds
Review 105:Nothing.
Review 106:Hotel is in a central location, very near the beach and all the restaurants. Our room had a balcony and view of the beach, good sized room and bathroom, all very nicely done up. Hotel was very clean, well looked after. Breakfast was good, we were happy with what was on offer - no full english if that is what you are into. Hotel Manager was excellent, very friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the hotel staff.
Review 107:Receptionist wasn't very knowlegable on locality and seemedbored.Beds uncomfortable.Balcony not worth extra premium.Sauna looks amillion times better on website
Review 108:Location...close to sea. Nice breakfast selection(Lady in attendancefriendly and efficient).Cleaner friendly and efficient.Overallexperience positive.Lots of nice restaurants nearby and beautiful walksand scenery.
Review 109:The staff are so helpful and friendly. It is right in the middle of Llafranc and not far from any amenity. The bedrooms are lovely and modern and very clean. We would definitely stay again.
Review 110:Parking would be very difficult in season, particularly for those with walking difficulties. The two disabled places are frequently occupied. The promise of wifi throughout never materialised.
Review 111:Location very near the beach and promenade. Good shower.
Review 112:The hotel was very close to the beach which was ideal and the extremely friendly staff enhanced our enjoyment of being there. The manager was most informative about places for us to visit and always had a welcoming smile at all times. He also made a mean omelette for breakfast - using eggs from his mother's farm.
Review 113:The 'air-con' in our room was not working and beds could be of abetter quality.
Review 114:Very nice time - hotel clean and a good breakfast - very handy forthe beach.
Review 115:There was nothing I did not like
Review 116:The location of the hotel was great, we had a room on the roof terrace which overlooked the town and the sea so we had great views, with our own bit of roof terrace to enjoy on our own. The staff were very, very friendly, they could not do enough for us and were always helpful.
Review 117:Small, friendly 3 star hotel in fantastic location. Room was clean andadequate, as was bathroom. Breakfast offered choices to suit mostnationalities. Staff were friendly and helpful, even with limited spokenenglish, we were always understood. This is a no frills hotel, butserved our purpose and the price reflected that. Would recommend.
Review 118:The bed in our room wasn't the most comfortable.
Review 119:You can't beat the value for the money. Excellent location, staff, service. This family takes GREAT pride in their hotel and you can feel it. Lovely buffet breakfast. Highly recommended.
Review 120:It is a modern building, small and neat and well kept by its staff whoare very friendly and helpful. Its location is almost perfect, justaround a corner from the seafront and a short walk from shops andrestaurants.
