Reviews for Manoir Des Douets Fleuris
Review 1:Highly recommend this hotel if you travel by car, it's a bit far from Cancale, but it is worth staying there for relaxing and romantic atmosphere.
Review 2:be very clear: the promising looking bar and cellar don't yield useful output and after 8pm the place is totally quiet. Most places had bottled water included in the room but no.
Review 3:Not a particularly warm welcome initially though this did improve. The breakfast whilst adequate did not justify the price tag of 12.50 euros per person per day and for some reason we were under the impression that their was a dining room for evening meals. I probably misread the info. Not somewhere we would be likely to return to.
Review 4:No hassle with parking, attractive location though far from the town and large room with good ensuite facilities. Although we did not use it the swimming pool was a plus.
Review 5:Our room was large with a separate bedroom, living area and bathroom facilities - including a big whirlpool tub and a shower. The grounds were small, but well maintained and quite beautiful. Breakfast was great - a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, jams, sweets, and oh yes - farm fresh eggs. We totally enjoyed our stay.
Review 6:Being woken up in the morning with the neighing from a pony - no I'm joking. It was really lovely
Review 7:We loved the buildings, decor, comfort and serenity as a whole and just like home cats, ponies and goats all around. Perfect for country lovers. Very helpful and happy staff. Excellent breakfast.
Review 8:The building had been beautifully maintained. Very attractive interior design of the well equipped bedrooms. Gardens were beautiful and over the fence were horses goats and lots of varieties of ducks to watch! Breakfast was great!
Review 9:The owner was very kind to us after a disaster with my bicycle, she saved out trip and we are very grateful. The manoir is very nice and we had a great stay which was very relaxing.
Review 10:Hostess was very kind and helpful. Cheers! Hotel is situated in a very calm and quiet place, where you can feel absolute relaxation so close to the nature. There are horses and geese living nearby. But they never interrupt the calmness of the area. The room and a showerroom are big, warm and clean. Breakfast was fine and very tasty, but it was no oysters at all. LOL It's a perfect place if you are tired from a city
Review 11:Disappointed that restaurant was closed due to the chef being ill.
Review 12:Quiet location convenient for St Malo and Mont saint-Michel Bedroom was large and comfortable. Small swimming pool was clean and refreshing Staff spoke English Breakfast was exceptional
Review 13:The restaurant was closed, but there are plenty of nice restaurants in the town.
Review 14:The hotel is quiet. The room was large and perfect for a family. The hotel has beautiful grounds and a swimming pool.
Review 15:Pool is small, and the surrounding area is okay rather than particularly beautiful
Review 16:Pretty buildings, well-appointed rooms, excellent breakfast, proximity to Cancale. I'd stay again, but wouldn't rush back.
Review 17:We really enjoyed the stay at Manoir Des Douets Fleuris, staff extremely helpful and the accommodation and grounds were amazing!! Surrounded by perfect countryside and horses... fantastico!! 10/10
Review 18:The place, the quietness, the breakfast the hospitality. Just incredible!
Review 19:Lovely quiet loco pres de Cancale. Lovely room and breakfast. Just 2hrs from home. We'll be back
Review 20:Simpl perfect & quiet place, nice and comfortable room, delicious breakfast.
Review 21:beautiful country house, amazing breakfast, friendly staff
Review 22:None
Review 23:The fact that we could walk to the wonderful deserted beach and there were plenty of very quiet roads to bike on
Review 24:N/A
Review 25:It was just perfect/ nothing not to like.
Review 26:Parking location Lots of stairs. Difficult to carry luggage
Review 27:Beautifully restored buildings
Review 28:WiFi authorization system is cumbersome, and connection is unstable.
Review 29:Beautiful manor in a rural area.
Review 30:The mattress was a worn out foam mattress and was uncomfortable. It needs replacing room 24
Review 31:Tidy,quiet & well located, but you need a car.
Review 32:nothing
Review 33:Everything is perfect.
Review 34:Situation and surroundings at hotel in rural setting with farmyard very peacefull. Access roads good
Review 35:The location and house was excellent. The duck pond and horses added greatly to the experience. The 2 ladies were so friendly and welcoming
Review 36:Quiet location
Review 37:Nothing
Review 38:Quiet location, very nice; room, breakfast, hostess.
Review 39:Loved this Inn very near Cancale. We stayed here late September. The Inn was very quiet, comfortable. An out of season bargain.
Review 40:All the way I like it! Quiet location, perfect cleanliness, friendly staff.
Review 41:Difficult to find Satnav didn't take us to given reference for some reason
Review 42:Countryside garden horses Peaceful
Review 43:Location not brilliant as would have liked to have walked into Cancale for a meal but the lack of a pavement and a busy road prevented this. But it was very quiet
Review 44:Loved the building - it had real character. Also staff very welcoming. Bonus of a pool. Room was beautiful and very well appointed. One of the nicest places we have stayed at.
Review 45:I would have liked a little more choice for the breakfast buffet. The chef was ill so the restaurant was closed. Not the fault of the proprietor of course but we should have been told in advance as we like to eat in the hotel as it means no driving. We may have gone elsewhere.
Review 46:It is in a lovely setting in countryside a short drive from Cancale. The room we had was very comfortable and large.
Review 47:Absolutely nothing to not like about the Manior des Douets Fleuris. For us it was perfect in every way.
Review 48:The location - quietly situated yet very close to the sea at Cancale. Able to eat there if you didn't want to venture out. Swimming pool and plenty of areas to be able to sit out and relax. We arrived, after a long drive, late afternoon and enjoyed a cool drink on the outside restaurant/bar terrace looking across fields at horses grazing.
Review 49:Nothing!
Review 50:Superb location just outside Cancale in the quiet countryside. Magnificent gardens with horses, ponies and geese nearby. Very friendly staff (and owners). Good value breakfasts. We had one evening meal in the restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Review 51:Some cosmetic work needed in the rooms on the fittings - fixings need tightening for instance. Otherwise there is nothing to be critical about.
Review 52:We were on a short break for a wedding in St Briac and looked of a convenient place to stay. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived to departure. Our suite was clean and comfortable. The Manoir is an old farmhouse so all the rooms appear slightly different which is an appealing characterisitc. The food was excellent; limited menus does mean fresh food rather than huge choices which would suggests lots of prepared meals. The chocolate mousse was not available first night as it "had gone wrong". Honesty rather than winging it! About a kilometer or so from Cancale it is walkable but no pavements mean you need to be careful on the road. It is ideally situated for all the major attractions in the area and we manged to visit Dinan, Mont St Michel and St Briac. You are in the middle of the country so popping out to the shops is not an option. For a chilled out break and away from the bustle, we will go back again. The Manoir has everything you would expect in a modern hotel with the addition of the above, plus free parking, free WiFi and, for the hotter times, an outdoor pool.
Review 53:No hand rails on bath or shower. My husband had great difficulty getting out of the bath for this reason, and I found the shower stall very slippery.
Review 54:Good comfortable room, no 25, pretty gardens outside room, parking very accessible. We liked the easy route to both Cancale port and the ferry in St Malo
Review 55:The powerful smell of horse manure from the fields next door but after all, it is the country and it was very hot when we were there.
Review 56:The facilities at this hotel are superbly luxurious. The staff are polite and the majority cannot do enough to help (there was one exception). The breakfast was superb. Some may think it pricey but from what was on offer, we did not think it was. We also liked the grounds with water and swimming pool with jacuzzi (but only up to September). There was a natural lake and ducks and geese.
Review 57:The suggested route in to the Manoir, coming from the Rennes direction as many must, following the signs to St Coloumbe and turning right is much easier on the nerves than driving right into Cancale and out again!
Review 58:The buildings and the way they are used, the food.... Delicious indulgence of sea food. The feel of luxury.
Review 59:Immediately from reception onwards we were not happy. Room provided lacked basic facilities to unpack clothes. Too 'twee' in approach. We asked for change of room - achieved the next day. Better room but still lacking facilities. Quite obviously the rooms were never looked at from the customer's viewpoint. A short stay - one night - would be more acceptable, but for 4 nights living out of a suitcase not acceptable. Took dinner on first night - decided after the long awaited meal time (inadequate staff - one waiter rushed off his feet) and the poor choice available for a longer stay, to cancel dinner thereafter. A very disappointing stay. Certainly would not return.
Review 60:Well located close to Cancale.
Review 61:A slight difference between the room price agreed with Booking.com and the price actually charged. Did not notice at the time but will take up with the hotel.
Review 62:Staff were very helpful, particularly in opening the breakfast room half an hour early to enable us to catch a ferry.
Review 63:The signage for the hotel could be improved - it was very difficult to find. It is necessary to have GPS. The map and even our Michelin guide was incomplete We missed the turnoff several times.
Review 64:The old stone buildings are exquisite. It is in a peaceful location off the main road.
Review 65:We came back to the hotel mid evening to find the staff packing up for the night, as we were leaving at 8am to catch the ferry in Saint Malo we were unable to have breakfast as it wasn't served before 8am. Nothing else was offered to us. The wc was not in the bathroom.
Review 66:Nice room, but expensive for the short time we were there.
Review 67:Very helpful staff.Supre room with great view over fields. Comfy bed.Great shower. Fabulous meal in their restaurant in the evening. It wasfull so I would suggest pre book if you plkan to stay. We chose it asthe perfect location for getting St Malo ship back to uk in the morning. We will stay again but longer next time.
Review 68:We thought the public lounge area looked rather sad. Would have beennice to go and read or hang out there.
Review 69:We were very happy with the facilities of our room. Bed was reasonable, good heating. Would have been good to have a international televisionstation. Only french stations. Staff were great.
Review 70:Very nicely renovated 17 th century farm house very large room with out sized bathroom , the setting is rural but with Cancale the oyster capital only a few minutes away by car . An excellent restaurant is also available
Review 71:Nothing.
Review 72:I absolutely LOVED it! In the country but minutes away from town. Beautifully updated. Most comfortable & beautifully appointed large room and bathroom. Quiet, clean and extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large breakfast.
Review 73:Beautifully restored farm house... a very large farmhouse. Our rooms were wonderful with a sitting room attached for us to sit and chat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Located a bit out of town which we knew when we booked but as we had a car it wasn't a problem at all. Lovely to return to the peace and quiet after bustling along the waterfront with all the crowds!
Review 74:Almost nothing - if I was forced to criticize anything, it would be that the huge bathroom attached to my room was a little cool during an extremely cold spell. It certainly won't deter me from staying here again - which I shall!
Review 75:Great staff, lovely setting, superb restaurant, beautifully converted old buildings - virtually everything! This is a very special hotel, which I heartily recommend
Review 76:We could not fault the hotel.
Review 77:This is a very pleasant hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it. The staff were very professional and helpful. The food was very good.Ideal spot to tour the region.
Review 78:The only minor improvement we would have liked is access to English news on the TV.
Review 79:All of the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The atmosphere was relaxed but at the same time professional. We ate in the restaurant both evenings of our stay and the food was excellent.
Review 80:Room 28 is beatifull but as there is no A/C you have to sleep with your windos open. It is located in front of the entrance to the kitchen so there is some related noise early in the morning.
Review 81:Food was great and the place is lovely.
Review 82:This review is not written to talk down on the hotel but this is ourhonest opinion: Were really disappointed in the hotel and especially theowners reaction. We were really looking forward to our stay, the price(eur 130/night in the middle of the week) was over our initial budgetbut it seemed it would be worth it; it wasn'T. We got room 20; tuckedaway behind a staircase with the public/general toilet right across ourroom-door. The room wasn't that small indeed but there was no way toventilate the room; there was only a door in the room which led to theparkingspace of the hotel. We didn't feel comfortable to have the dooropen while sleeping but both nights we woke up in the middle of thenight with the feeling we were choking from carbon monoxide. Also thebeds are really poor; the mattress was run down.So after broken upnight, waking up and then opening and barricading the outside door, itwas horrible to be woken up again a few hours later again by guestspulling there suitcases to go to their parked cars just centimetersoutside the open door and feeling uncomfortable because not knowing howmuch they could see looking in. The worst part is that I addressed theowner ( lady) when we were checking out. She didn't ask how our stay wasbut I managed to tell here in French that we couldn't ventilate;Yes wecould she said; we could open the door; I replied that that didn't feelsafe while sleeping and with the parkingspace right outside. Ok she saidand shrug her shoulders. As I was astonished by this reaction I didn'teven bother talking about the mattresses. It really was such adisappointment that we decided to book a nh hotel in the next town westayed in and that was a huge room with good beds with friendly servicefor half the price.
Review 83:The receptionist was very friendly.
Review 84:Breakfast not included and to much expensive.
Review 85:The staff give us a largest room at the same price. The room wasperfect, clean and full with charme.
Review 86:Breakfast expensive and limited, no coffee / tea making facilities.
Review 87:The room was large and comfortable and reception friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent.
Review 88:We had not realized it was out of town originally but it turned out to be perfect. It has been recently renovated and our room/rooms were spacious. It would have been nice to have a shower curtain. There is an exceptionally good restaurant where we ended up eating two nights. It was all a bit more expensive than we usually spend but was worth it.
Review 89:Very friendly atmosphere, good restaurant in hotel, cozy decorated rooms, very clean, garden and big territory. It was real pleasure to stay in the hotel. Very close to Cancale and sightseeings of Emerald beach.
Review 90:It was such a lovely location - very relaxing - comfortable - lovely food and accomodation - excellent service - very helpful staff - couldn't do enough for us
