Reviews for Schloss Münichau

Review 1:A bit pricey. No Safe and Minibar. Usually you get them in hotels of this price range. Wifi is slooow but that is almost everywhere in alps. Parking is big but was full during high season so we forced to park near drive way and our car was scratched. The village itself has noting interesting beside this hotel. Not even a supermarket . Restaurant was nice with good food but if you like me and like go to different restaurants every day you forced to drive to bigger villages. There is a skibuss stop right in front but again i would not recommend to come here without a car or you will be stuck in your room as soon bus stop running

Review 2:The castle is amazing ! it is old and very authentic .I always have been a fan of Knights and Castles and Living in a Tower was a dream come true.A lot of antique un Halls and rooms. It is worth visit just for an atmosphere . The View from the room is stunning .Rooms are big with nice details. Location is good and bad in the same time. If you come for skiing with a car you can accesses best ski resorts such as Kitzbuhel and Kaiser Brixental just few minutes away by car and you can reach Kaprun Zell am see Mayrhofen Zell am ziller Saalbach with in an hour drive. Stuff was very nice and helpful. It was warm! One thing that hotels in alps tend to do is turn off the heater to save money to a point that we now pack small heater with us. Nothing worth than steeping on an ice cold floor early in the morning . Probably the Best hotel i alps that i have been in 16 years of skiing in alps

Review 3:Huge difference between tasteful entrance/restaurant/bar/outskirts and old-fashioned, run-down and undersized rooms and bathrooms. Holes in blankets in one of the rooms. Cleaning lady once forgot to clean and twice forgot to lock the door after cleaning (also for other guests). Room-to-room phone did not work everywhere.

Review 4:A stay in a castle, nice owners, meals OK, only 3 minutes drive to Fleckalm for skiing.

Review 5:A really quirky hotel. We didn't stay in the castle itself but in the 'annex' but this was fun although the room was just a tad small. Not for those who are into their hotel rooms being identical.

Review 6:No bar price list, small measures and excessive prices. One tiny smear of whiskey charged for the same cost as half a bottle from a supermarket.

Review 7:Fine ambiance and good breakfast.

Review 8:Room was a little small in the chalet but clean and with a fantastic view

Review 9:Location in Reith bei Kitzbühel very good specially for beginner skiers or kids, excellent ski school in Reith highly recommend, I started a terrified beginner and ended up going to the top of the run. Hotel was a good base for skiing and visiting Kitzbühel and the nearby Schwarz see and on main road so very accessible in snow times. Chalet is comfortable and good value, breakfast was Good but a menu of extras available to order would have been helpful.

Review 10:breakfast buffet was good but not all items replenished during the morning. staff was helpful but seemed like she needed some help

Review 11:Unique place to stay, unusual and authentic décor, clean, modern bathrooms, close to kitzbuhl

Review 12:It is a little far from Kitzbuhel centre for the purpose of skiing. That said, buses and taxi's are available at any time!

Review 13:The staff and original features of this stunning building.

Review 14:Realx if you came here, is the ideal place to enjoy your time :)

Review 15:Very charming property directly managed by the family. Is a true castel of the 1400. Everything is beutiful and unique. Beuatiful restourant with excellent service.

Review 16:Friendly host, great food.

Review 17:the warm and stilish atmosphere in the bar, the smell of the old wood and the boiserie and the floor

Review 18:Freezing cold outside pool - couldn't even dip my feet in it on a hot day! Our bathroom was fine (room 21) however my sister and her partner had a room on top floor and the bathroom was tiny - the bath was only half size and the wall overhang the bath so not enough room to have a bath or a shower, they had to use our bathroom!

Review 19:Lovely location

Review 20:Given a cupboard for a room (one side of bed up to wall) and had to ask to move. No organisation within the breakfast room, not much choice, and only realised you could ask for eggs because someone else had them. Coffee was served. Tea was self service, but with no cups/teapots, milk jugs etc. Water ern ran dry and was luke warm anyway. All in all, very poor. When I was asked if I had a good stay, I mentioned the disorganisation in the dining room, but was told that we had not paid a great deal for Kitsbuel, for our two nights stay, so what could I expect. I was not happy with this attitute, as I paid what Booking.com had advertised, and expect a reasonable return for £140 per night

Review 21:The decor and old worlde style were lovely. However, there were no people around in the lounge or bar so we didnt sit in either.

Review 22:very good service personel, available at any request. fantastic location, the castle is very beautiful. quite for a perfect sleep. very good breakfast. confortable bed. Very near to Kizbuhel and to Kirchberg and the ski-lifts. everytime i go to Kizbuhel i stay at Munichau.

Review 23:Everything was fine, the only little thing was that the internet connection inside the room wasn't so stable.

Review 24:Excellent position close to the Fleckalmbahn (for an easy access to the Kitzbühel ski area) and the city centre as well.

Review 25:taxies nicked me out to go to kitz and back 3 or 4 times

Review 26:everything and especially old castle and arms..like in a museum.. and nice decoration in the room and outside

Review 27:Need a spa and a sauna! For after skiing.

Review 28:The restoration is fabulous. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I will be bringing family and friends next winter.

Review 29:There was cigaret smoke in the lobby and in the whole down stairs for the whole time. The service on the breakfast was slow and they kept forgetting what we ordered. But they were nice and tried and the food was nice.

Review 30:Great atmosphere and a historical location. The castle is very nice and it is close to Kitzbuhel and its restaurants and slopes. The staff is very friendly - especially in the reception

Review 31:I would love tea making facilities in the room. I would love tea made with properly hot water in the breakfast restaurant.

Review 32:We were returning to the hotel where we spent our honeymoon 40 years ago and also met up with other friends made there in 1973 who share our anniversary. We were made very welcome

Review 33:They didn't offer extra pillows or blankets. There was no water by your bed. When I arrived I couldn't find the receptionist desk or check in, I was arriving late and it wasn't lit up well. Had to call the receptionist who had left an envelope on the counter.

Review 34:The place was cozy and very clean.

Review 35:The en-suite bathroom was very small.

Review 36:Stunning location, and a lovely place to stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very good, and quiet.

Review 37:This is a very old castle building, which is amazing. The design is very great. The room is big and spacious. Great breakfast! Enough free parking. Great view. 5 min drive from Kitzbuhel for ski, shopping or anything else.

Review 38:For me, a lovely period property set in an excellent location with warm and welcoming staff...I shall definitely be returning for Christmas!

Review 48:beautiful antiques, tastefully decorated excellent restaurant homely lounge beautiful location

Review 49:Price I have been quoted on Hotels.com did not match up withpricing from Hotel. However, Munichau honored my deal afterdiscussing the issue.
