Reviews for Krystal Grand Punta Cancún

Review 1:Location was great! 5 minute walk to all the hotel zone has to offer but far enough that you can feel relaxed and away from the clubs and buzz. We moved locations to stay here because it was so centrally located compared to where we booked. This hotel is also on the end of the hotel zone beaches and there's a wall in place so the water is very calm. You can use the beach beds and gazebos as complimentary for staying at the hotel! We will be back!

Review 2:Taxi...is too expensive

Review 3:Very nice food here is so good nice and clean ...DO NOT BUY A TIME SHARE is not worth it ... and if you go to explore try Fuego at night it was great.

Review 4:No hot water on the night we arrived. Limited sea view despite paying for a deluxe sea view, large boulders on the beach. Balcony chairs were broken, the mirrors were marked and the bathroom needed some revamping . We stayed one night and checked out.

Review 5:inside of the building impressive , staff tried to help but Verny little they could do . Offered a different room on the second day but then said it was not available with that view .

Review 6:- one block near mandala, very noisy, it seems they all party 24x7 - i'm bit look like local so they often asked why i was swimming or entering the hotel :)

Review 7:best location in cancun zone hetelera ; best beach for people looking for waves ; helpful staff ; good swimming pool ; easy checkin and checkout process.

Review 8:Staff were horrible and incredibly unhelpful. I'm not one to complain but I now see why people write harsh reviews. We had a complication with our booking and rather than help us through it and try and sort it out they told us to make a call ($5 per minute) on a Sunday night to sort it out ourselves. Little hard when your traveling from Australia and there's a massive time difference. What a joke of a 'hotel in paradise'. I'd recommend any other hotel but this one, and we have stayed at a few places in Cancun. Not to mention when we checked out they lost our bags, and ironically not one staff member wanted to help us even though our bags were definitely on the premises!

Review 9:-

Review 10:The staff was not reliable. The payment was made in advance, the reservation was all inclusive when we arrived, they told us its not all inclusive. We had to call booking to clarify. we didnt get an apology from the reception staff

Review 11:Pamela, who worked near the front desk quoted me the wrong price for the Xplor tours. She introduced me to her " partner" downstairs to pay which turned out to be $10 higher. YOU CAN BOOK TOURS OUTSIDE THE HOTEL. You will be fine. I was HIGHLY pissed. In Cancun they will try THIER best to screw you out of all your money. Other than that, the hotel is fine. NO INTERENET, only in the Lobby.

Review 12:They had HOT Water and were centrally located.

Review 13:Some staff were less willing to help while others didn't pay attention to our requests and thus kept making mistakes. The indoor kids club had a poor location with no sunlight and very gloomy appearance.

Review 14:Spectacular view of the beach and ocean. Room mostly well cleaned. Hotel restaurant Grill had great staff and a good menu.

Review 15:I paid for my room at check-in, and at check-out they charged me forextras (promes, hd, mex$380.91) which I did not ask for or even know of!! Still don't know what these are! Staff would not explain!Neighbouring hotel is noisy.

Review 16:Bathtub and shower need an update. The water pressure was a little low, and the toilet ran off and on all night (not loudly). The A/C never relieved humidity. Wifi was really weak, maybe it's just Mexico.

Review 17:Everyone was so friendly and helpful--everyone. Pools were relaxing, and not crowded. The beach outside has a slight curve to it, so the waves are more fun. Close to a full service grocery store and across from a convenience store. Walking distance to a small variety of restaurants and bars. Breakfast buffet was well worth it, and good coffee!! The guys at the tour desk were super knowledgeable and trustworthy, led us to a great Chichen Itza package.

Review 18:Really convenient location with lots of restaurants, bars, beaches etc within walking distance. Choice of pool or access to beach for when the sun is out.

Review 19:NOTHING

Review 20:Wonderful hotel: - excellent location (beside the entertainments and right on the beach) - amazing interiors and comfort - sunbeds and umbrellas available on the beach - great value for money - excellent breakfast and restaurant with huge variety of choice - helpful and professional staff (great customer service)

Review 21:My only problem with the hotel was the extra charge for everything for example we asked for a cappuccino at breakfast something that usually is included in the price but they wanted extra charge. Also we chose to eat at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel (we didn't take the all inclusive package) I would expect that as hotel guests we would get a discount if we chose to eat i the hotel restaurant but that wasn't the case. Still i think this hotel is nice and the location is perfect if you like partying right near the coco bongo

Review 22:I liked the hotel , the lobby , the room and the pool areas . The infinity pool has an amazing view. The other pools were also nice

Review 23:The WiFi in the room was a bit weak. It took a long time (if at all) to download large files, youtube, etc.

Review 24:The rooms ware large and clean. Facilities were great, and the staff did a good job at requests put forth by guests.

Review 25:The toilet was clogged, the sink did not drain, the air conditioning stayed at 28c, the ice machine on the floor was broken, and there where several fat cockroaches plying on the floor when I turned the light on at night. I used to stay at this hotel when it was the Hyatt and it was always acceptable even good. But this was my last stay at this property. Very disappointing as I like the location.

Review 26:The bell hops where super helpful

Review 27:We were there during a storm and if weather is bad there is nothing to do inside the hotel. Some of the staff asked persistently for a tip upon presenting us with the bill, check in takes sometime and room is not always ready even after official check in time at 3pm.we got our room finally at 16:40 but at least we were allowed to use the pool while waiting

Review 28:The beach, the ocean view, the staff that play volleyball with the customers, location, the staff at the Italian restaurant of the hotel

Review 29:Clogged shower Poor staff interaction/staff doesn't really care Wifi not working Make you do their job for them by returning towel cards to the front desk

Review 30:Check in was poor. Not good enough for a 5* hotel. Everyone is made to feel 'part of the crowd' rather than an important guest. It was also bizarrely complicated to charge items to the room with their internal systems often inconsistent on when we could charge to the room rather than pay on credit card.

Review 31:The beach facilities and drink services were fantastic. The main pool was very good fun - loud and busy, not relaxing but good fun.

Review 32:I had to change room twice as the first two did not have working safes and after waiting an hour they couldn't fix them. The third room had a working safe but a broken toilet and non working TV remote but I gave up changing and just accepted it. These were fixed, but I shouldn't have to keep calling maintenance when I am meant to be relaxing.

Review 33:The hotel has good beaches, nice pools and good food and drink facilities. Not the best I have used but good enough.

Review 34:the worst part about this hotel is getting information. They do not tell you or have any information board to tell you what activities they provide or special events that they are going to be having at the hotel during your stay.

Review 35:the location was great if you want to be in the center of all the activities

Review 36:-It took us an hour to check-in, even though we were the only people at the desk. -This is NOT a 5 star hotel, rooms are like a 3 star hotel. -Staff are awful and not helpful, and most don't speak English.

Review 37:The location is the only good thing about the hotel.

Review 38:Check in time too long and the beach is not private, is like a public beach with all the "bario" there and make noise. At the junior suite the mini bar was locked with key.

Review 39:I had a wonderful stay at Krystal. The staff were great, the facilities were great. Love the location. Would love to see a better variety of food for breakfast, but overall, it was a great experience.

Review 40:The air conditioning was broken in the lobby or it wasn't on, not sure. No ice buckets in room, no fridge use in room was included because I didn't purchase all inclusive.

Review 41:I liked that it was walking distance to the nightlife, safe area, comfortable bed/pillows. Adults only pool is a bonus too. Concierge was very helpful.

Review 42:There is no free wifi in the room (you can use the conference one in the lobby area). Some of the fixtures and fittings could do with updating (eg the bathroom was a bit worn out)

Review 43:The location of the hotel is great, it's right on the beach (as all the hotels in hotel zone are) but this one is also near to the bars, restaurants and shops if you want to go out. The rooms are large and clean. The pools are also very nice. I also really liked that they offer the choice of just paying for the room or being all inclusive as I just wanted a room.

Review 44:One reception staff called Jonathan was horrible, rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. The floor of the room was dirty and the internet never managed to work.

Review 45:(Roberto) The duty manager was amazing, he was polite, calm and caring that made our experience a little better.

Review 46:The staff in the pool and beach area were lazy and you didnt even notice there was a staff , very bad service or better said inexistent service. The food of the restaurants was nothing special. If you are going do not buy the all inclusive and instead go to restaurants and places to eat. The rooms nothing special , the hotel is old , the badrooms are old and not very well taken care of. The staff wasnt that kind the type you expect from mexico and the service was really poor in general. The beach is not the best beach in cancun but i that waters the view is hard to ruin.

Review 47:The location is great to walk over the nightclubs , ferry and on a taxi cab you can get really quick to the best places in Cancun.

Review 48:Beautiful pools overlooking great beach. Very close to all the best clubs and restaurants (walking distance). Clean rooms, good gym. We didn't try any food there as we like to try different places (outside a hotel).

Review 49:Room was worn out and basic. no balcony furniture. No in room tea or coffee facility. strangely, no evening entertainment whatsoever and very boring around the hotel at night. For the cost it needs to inject some holiday enthusiasm into the place.

Review 50:Location and beach was excellent. Restaurants were fine, although we only used one of 3.

Review 51:Instead of two double bed room, they wanted to give a king bed room which was against the specified room type at the reservation. Furniture are very old. Rooms smell bad. Food is very bad. Staff are rude and they don't care. I had a medical emergency situation and literally 3 different people refused to help at the lobby area when I was almost crying for a doctor.

Review 52:Location is good. Beach is really nice.

Review 53:Hotel management did not check the signatures on the bills. When I wanted to settle my account, there was an item on my bill that I never done or drank while visiting. The signature was totally different than mine. Somebody just put my room number on bill and management did not confirm.

Review 54:A concrete monster on the wonderful Cancun peninsula, everything is noisy here: the air conditioning centralized plant, the neighbour room, the building activities outside running almost 24h/day. The price, disproportioned for the offered service.

Review 55:The baggage service

Review 56:My son and I had only 5 days, we arrived at 13.30 and we had to wait forroom, then got a very dirty room , my son went to complain and after afew hours they gave as a better room , we lost the whole afternoon, as agift they offer as free breakfast, but the food was reheated from thenight before. It was good , I had not " all inclusive ",because the food was very poor, I have been travel in 50 countrys, but Iget better food just on a streetstall !! :=( and watch the bill, theycharged us 1day the breakfast

Review 57:The sunbeds on the beach and the water was clean

Review 58:The entire hotel is dimly lit and food and alcohol is expensive if you don't pay for all inclusive. Actually, the inclusive option is pricey, too unless you plan on drinking lots of margaritas. Downside of "perfect" location is how close the hotel is to Hard Rock Café, nightclubs, and party all-nighters-we heard very loud music ALL night on Saturday, even with balcony door closed, until it stopped at 6:30 am!

Review 59:Location of hotel is perfect; close to town and ferry, lovely beachfront, and cool architecture.

Review 60:There was a crying baby in the room next to us and it cried every night from 3am - 6am.

Review 61:Beach Location is the best there is in Cancun. Next to all the best restaraunts.

Review 62:The staff who is a check position for entering at breakfast, she was very unkind and unhelpful. In the night, people who drunks in a casino were noisy for a while in the corridor

Review 63:staff in the reception and concierge was nice and breakfast was okay. rate is pretty reasonable for everything.

Review 64:Nothing major, wifi seemed to of cut in and out sometimes.

Review 65:Location can't be beat, last hotel at the end of the strip, feels like you have your own private beach. Good eating options, the grill restaurant has great food, healthy options and the staff there are great people. Coral at check in is a great person and employee, friendly and smiling every morning. Close to shops and coco bongo nightclub as well if you wanted to party. Altitude club is worth paying the little extra for as ou get access to the lounge for breakfast and the cartel at 5-7pm. Breakfast at the buffet is half priced as well.

Review 66:We had problems with our credit tab we had set up at the front desk. We were repeatedly told we had no credit left when we had plenty available. This was quite embarrassing but was resolved quite quickly to be fair. Also our room key didn't work a few times and we kept having to reactivate for access to the altitude lounge and our room.

Review 67:Right on the corner of the cancun coastline you couldn't ask for a better position! The facilities were fab and the beach / infinity pool and swimming pool were all high class. The spa was an added bonus and it was luxurious to have some massages and treatments at the end of our honeymoon. The candlelit dinner on the beach was also amazing.

Review 68:There was an "all inclusive" charge when I got there that was an extra $120/person for 4 days that I thought I bought when I booked the trip. It was advertised as all inclusive when I bought the trip, I was pissed off totally!!!

Review 69:Very nice property and location and staff

Review 70:Noisy at night (windows are not good enough).

Review 71:Close to the night life (Coco Bongo), but yet still quiet and peaceful. Many guest services inside of the hotel.

Review 72:We didn't realize an ocean view would mean just the fact that we can see the ocean! THere was a construction view as well included along with is which wasn't pretty at all.

Review 73:The level of customer service was reflected in the class range of the hotel. Was fine but nothing special.

Review 74:The view from my window and deck was great.

Review 75:Very slight but a few mistakes with food orders.

Review 76:The drinks and food were great. So many options. The location was perfect and the view from our room was stunning. Really enjoyed our stay. Highly reccommend.

Review 77:The front desk is woeful. Give yourself 45 minutes if you need anything done. They are pretty surly also. The buffet dinner was pretty nasty. i booked the second night non inclusive and had a nice dinner elsewhere

Review 78:Fantastic location. Good, spacious, clean rooms. Good value for money. The food in the Grill is great. Amenities are fantastic - infinity pool, pool, area for tours, beach loungers etc It's in a great location not only beach wise but also for shops and restaurants

Review 79:WiFi in the small cafe, needs better instructions written in English on how to go about How to use the computer.First you must get the code from the counter person then go to computer; where is the @ symbol? Please write it down in English! Push & hold the alt key plus 64 enter! Slow elevators.Concierge Desk was not helpful when asked about Asian restaurants.Need info on the Bus route would be helpful.

Review 80:Arrival personal Ricardo was excellent! Check-In counter Coral she was Excellent! Pool girl-Nancy excellent! Spa person-Ana excellent! Room service was great.Location good

Review 81:1) Bathtub was unclean (had hair in it) 2) Damp smell in the room 3) Refused to accept payment in USD by credit card while using a higher than market exchange rate which in effect overcharges

Review 82:1) Convenient location - close to bus stop, convenience stores, restaurants & bars

Review 83:Our bathroom was dirty when we checked in. We found a lot of black hair, both of us has blonde hair. Even the day after when they promised to give the clean ing stuff a note to clean the room extra, we still found a lot of black hair in the bathroom. Really disgusting.

Review 84:Good location, good food!

Review 85:We paid a 'view sea' room, but we got a 'building site' room (in the next block is a new hotel under construction that blocks the view of 1/3 of all the rooms of the hotel). We requested another room but the staff move us to a noisy room. Their system of pre pay for food at half of price not includes the best dishes (you need pay in cash/credit card).

Review 86:Hotel on the beach.

Review 87:- you can't pay anything in cash unless you make a deposit in the reception - no breakfast included

Review 88:- The receptionist Irwing is very helpfull and gentle. Polite and always in a good mood. - location, in front of the beach and close to a big supermarket and shops

Really bad service. No assistance. Shower did nt work!

Review 90:Hotel bem localizado, boa piscina. Good location and great pool.

Review 91:although i was on the 8th floor , i can still hear the grinding noises of the construction which starts very early in the morning , but that supposed to be a temporary issue

Review 92:best location in cancun , like no other .. very centraled to everything around

Review 93:The room safe was without power and fixing it was "not in our maintenance service". The mini-bar was without power and this too could not be fixed. The shower was well-appointed but the handheld unit was broken.

Review 94:Room balcony was good and we had a good view. We had a lost-and-found experience (a camera) that went very well. The service and food at a business reception was fine. The beach and pool areas were enjoyable.

Review 95:There is a very large construction project going on right next to the hotel. Many of the rooms overlook the project. There is loud noise from 7am to 8pm, and very bright floodlights all night that shine into your room. We were told by reception that the construction was 9am to 6 pm. They lied. The hotel is ok but not much action or energy. It's very quiet inside the lobby.

Review 96:We received a terrific massage on the spa. The food at the beach bar was also very good, as was the service. The beach is gorgeous.

Review 97:I requesting early check-in (1pm) when reserving the room. The room was not ready until after 3pm. I was not told at check-in that a deposit was needed to use bar/food service on the beach, requiring an additional trip into hotel, up the elevator and to my room in order to fetch credit card (all the while with wet swim suit & sandy feet)

Review 98:The room was beautiful and well-kept with an amazing ocean view at a cost much less than similar hotels that had either the same or less appealing location.

Review 99:No free wifi, limited buffet to breat fast wold have liked to see a lunch and dinner buffet option, limited dining options later at night, no vent in the bathroom, smells would come in from the sewer.

Review 100:Beach, location, services, breakfast, lounge, cleanliness, safe parking, half off deal for food

Review 101:I had stayed at the other end of the hotel zone but found the location of this hotel far better. The beach was great and the surrounding restaurants, shops and entertainment provided more choices.

Review 102:there were some construction work during the day which was not convenient as I wanted to relax on the beach. it happens sometimes everywhere though.

Review 103:i stayed only for one night and it served its purpose. my friends stayed in the hotel next door but we could use the beach facilities of each other easily. the breakfast was also nice. you can leave the luggage there as well after your check-out

Review 104:Service could go a little quicker at some of the restaurants.

Review 105:Excellent location, on the best beach in Cancun!!!! The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Loved the fitness center and the overall ambiance was great.

Review 106:1. SO NOISY! Near hotel there is another hotel construction so from 6 am unbelievable noise even with closed windows:(( I moved to another room on the opposite side, but there was noise from a very strong ventilation system, here closing window helped))

Review 107:Amazing beach!!!! Location is good, 5 min to bars, clubs and shops. There are always lots of sunbeds. Free wifi broadcasting even on the beach! Tequila you should buy at Europa shop on Zona Hotelera or at shops at downtown. Twice cheaper then at souvenir market. CocoBongo must visit, VIP zone the best.

Review 108:Staff were generally impolite, especially those at the front desk. Many times they tried to overcharge for items that we did not consume (in the minibar) and calculated wrong amounts for our room rates.

Review 109:The hotel facilities and rooms are excellent.

Review 110:Whenever I tried to call beforehand, no one picked up the phone. Upon arrival, my booking was not in their system although I received all confirmation and had booking.com contact them beforehand.

Review 111:The location and the food

Review 112:Room location was facing construction site (208) I couldn’t sleep they start early and they stop late Hotel lobby is very noisy and gets louder by night Staff aren’t at all friendly , and if they don’t want to help they just say we don’t speak English No fridge in the room No kettle in the room

Review 113:the hotel location was very convenient near to the clubs area rooms are clean spa is good

Review 114:When we wanted to pay for our rooms by credit card, we found out that wecan only be charged in pesos and that the exchange rate of the hotel(which converts from the room price in booking from usd to pesos) wasextremely high. Best option here is to pay usd in cash - which wedidn't have....

Review 115:Helpful Staff Great location good value for money

Review 116:had a noisy toilet after flushing which was very strange!

Review 117:nice big rooms/beds very clean good breakfast- big choice but wasn't included nice facilities just had bad weather! good value

Review 118:There is a time in the morning (11-12) where you dont have a restaurant (only a poor and too expensive "Deli" in the hotel building where you can sit and get a coffee or food), it is unacceptable in a Hotel like this.

Review 119:Location, employees

Review 120:Some people at front desk were not helpful at all.

Review 121:We arrived late at night and were welcomed by the most helpful gentleman at the front desk, I believe his name was Urvin. He was the most helpful. Twice more in our stay he assisted us with no hesitation. We also met him again when we were leaving on 31st morning. Why I mention him is because the other men at the front desk were quite inhospitable. But this one guy and his helpfulness made our stay memorable at the hotel. The beach was amazing and enjoyable.

Review 122:The beach is not the best.

Review 123:Pool, room, overall facilities, the famous clubs are close by, walking distance (altought I though they were awful) but not close enough to be loud.

Review 124:The beach isn't as sandy as other hotels

Review 125:We arrived at a different hotel called dos playas, it was horrible and dirty so decided we needed to move hotels even with extra cost so we decided to see how krystal looked. Its a beautiful hotel, staff are friendly, pool side is the best. Definitely have an ocean view room!

Review 126:We got to the hotel on 14th August at 8 PM and the guy at the reception informed us that even if they correctly received our reservation (as they confirmed us by email some days before our arrival) there were no rooms available. He proposed us 2 choises: change hotel or accept a temporary room with several problems (no shower curtain, safe deposit box broken, 2 beds instead of one king size bed). We accepted the room and in the following days we were not able to change it with the one we reserved. We had to pay for this room the same amount of the king size bed room we reserved.

Review 127:position

Review 128:Staff useless. Asked about wifi - told we needed a code which worked for free access in the lobby only, and wifi in room needed to be paid for. This info was wrong.Code works for 6 devices and also works in the room, free of charge.Staff are not well-informed and forget things. Asked for towels, never arrived, extra rollaway bed, all a struggle. Food in The Grill restaurant was not good and they attempted to give us our pizza first, despite having ordered soup as a starter. There is a LOT of LOUD noise coming from the generator of the hotel opposite, Fiesta Americana. It is not the Krystal's fault but be warned they do offer earplugs if you need. Rooms affected mostly will be those facing the Americana and not the main public beach. We were on 10th floor and still heard it, very loud at night. Hotel public areas ROASTING hot including the lobby and drinks bar and corridors. Used to be fine when it was the Hyatt but 10 mins in the lobby is like being in a sauna - your clothes will stick to you. Could and should be so much better

Review 129:Execellation location - 5 mins walk to clubs and restaurants and shops. The location is the main thing going for it - not too much else, right opposite a sheltered shallow water bay for swimming. They have comfy sea-facing cabanas by the beach which, unlike most other hotels, they don't charge for if you're lucky enough to get one.

Review 130:Air conditioning in room worked fine during the day but blew hot air at night. By midnight, after our first call for maintenance help, the temperature in the room was 80 degrees. By 2 am, the temperature was 86! The front desk sent maintenance up twice but they were unable to fix the problem. The front desk did not offer to relocate us, nor would management even consider a small refund or discount of our room rate. Don't be tempted by the beauty. The beast is in the management!

Review 131:Beautiful resort. Modern. Great views and stunning beach.

Review 132:Faulty fire alarm system meant disturbances during day and at 4am. No explanation given and I was accused of setting the alarm off myself (by sleeping!). 2 weeks later they have still not contacted me as promised with an explanation.

Review 133:Location and facilities were great, views were amazing.

Review 134:The faces of staff at the front look like robot. More smile will be prefect. No free in-room WIFI.

Review 135:Great beach right outside the hotel. Good location and convenient facilities and sea view from room.

Review 136:When we got to the room to go to sleep at 1130pm at night we found blood splatters on our sheets and it was too late to call someone to replace them, so for this fact we have to rate cleanliness as poor. There was construction in the lobby and construction in a site next to the hotel that woke us every morning of our stay before 730am. The hotel said this was not their problem, however, we felt a courtesy email should have been sent to notify us of this. You have to pay US10 every 24 hours to use hotel Wifi. Possibly the biggest issue is THIS IS NOT ALL INCLUSIVE. Cancun offers all inclusive hotel where food and drink is included in room price, do your research as this hotel is not value for money and staying in an all inclusive hotel would be much more cost effective and enjoyable.

Review 137:Pool area was beautiful and the beach point of Cancun was amazing; Location to restaurants, bars/clubs and facilities was excellent

Review 138:Extremely incompetent staff clearly not fit to be dealing with foreign guests. Language barrier so bad it was almost impossible at times and worst of all after departure an extra $3000 USD was taken from my account without explanation. Still today (6 days later) they are still refusing to acknowledge this even though our bank at home has stated this has taken place and supported our claims. Again, extremely incompetent staff and management and would not recommend anybody to stay here after this incident.

Review 139:Grat location and beach front was beautiful, rooms are great.
