Reviews for Le Querrien
Review 1:enjoyed the whole stay with special thanks to the female member of staff with short hair [sorry I didn't get her name] who sorted out our room after I booked the wrong one.
Review 2:Staff were generally indifferent, didn't tell us about breakfast arrangements. The light and hairdryer didn't work and the toilet was dirty on arrival
Review 3:Quiet location at end of the Main Street of restaurants but still walking distance. Room was spacious with a lovely view, very comfortable bed and shower had good water pressure
Review 4:Staff was there to help if you asked them but did not seem overly friendly almost like we were bothering them which is not the experience you would generally like to share with guests staying at your hotel.
Review 5:Hotel was nicely decorated, room was clean, big bathroom, fridge in the room, and nice big windows.
Review 6:Stayed here many times. On this visit the staff were the least friendly. The welcome was very cold bordering on disinterest. It used to be the reverse. It has also become furiously overpriced. The only time I tried to eat at its fabled restaurant the staff were not bothered to take an order or make one feel comfortable. Sadly my association with Le Querrien has now ended.
Review 7:Location.
Review 8:The headboard for the bed was broken and missing. The shower cubicle wasmouldy, the ceiling was falling in and the radiator was covered in rust.I left after the first night. The girl on reception refused to credit mefor the other night because she said she could not re let the room.I'm not surprised it was dreadful.
Review 9:The view from the room was ok but you could not have the windows opensas the valley gutter directly outside it was full of bird excrement andthe smell was foul.
Review 10:We picked the middle of august - terrible for too many people in town - but that's not the hotels fault, they did everything to make our stay a real success
Review 11:We only stayed 2 nights however our room was excellent with a view over the bay - great! The hotel has a great sea food restaurant where we thoroughly enjoyed our meals - great. The personnel were efficient & friendly - great We're going back in October out of the tourist season - great, can't wait!!
Review 12:We didn't know that breakfast was in addition to the hotel price. It's 9€ pp which is pretty good, but we weren't up in time for breakfast anyhow. It's served 7-10 am which is a good range; I was sleepy.
Review 13:Restaurant is really good and staff were flexible with booking us in last minute. They gave us a table next to the window so we could watch the bay transform by night. The room was comfy and spacious in contrast to many French hotel rooms I've stayed in. Bathroom had toiletries and there were robes!!
Review 14:Not many people can speak English. Car parking is always full. No lift and hard to carry all luggage.
Review 15:Breakfast was very simple but very good. It was better than lunch or dinner actually. Suitable to family.
Review 16:Nothing!
Review 17:This ticks all the boxes. We had a larger room at the top with great views over the bay. It was also quiet at night with the windows open. (There is no lift so you need to take the stairs). The restaurant is a little more 'upmarket' but the food and service were excellent. Breakfast also was very good with very friendly service.
Review 18:People talking very loudly in the street until 5 am. Parking in high season tricky unless you parked up the hill, which not great if you have bags.
Review 19:Location. Right by the sea and good choice of restaurants
Review 20:Sunday night seafood dinner was awful. As if Sunday lunch leftover langoustines and crab overcooked and stale.
Review 21:Location on the harbour and view from the room
Review 22:It is very strange when in a tourist place like Cancale noone in the hotel speaks English! Having an menu in English would a plus as well as changing their attitude to non-French speaking visitors - we have been sitting in the restaurant for 25 minutes for dinner and all the waiters were "very" busy with the other guests. After numerous attempts to catch the waiter we just left...
Review 23:No parking - you have to pay 1,6 EUR / hour for parking until 22 hrs and after 10 hrs. The restaurant at the hotel is rather posh and a bit pricey.
Review 24:Located close to the best part of Cancale - many restaurants in the neighbourhood. Don't forget the famous Cancale oysters!
Review 25:Staff very friendly Parking facility was excellent just outside Hotel. This is a Hotel we have stayed in several times and look forward to a return visit.
Review 26:Dinner in hotel was disappointing. There are plenty of restaurants on the front, next time I would choose to eat out.
Review 27:We stayed one night before catching the ferry from St Malo to UK . It proved ideal for this purpose.
Review 28:Dining room window sills and certain areas in the rooms and bathrooms required to be cleaned. Beds poorly made and cups and glasses not washed. In one of the rooms the occupant had to wash the floor before using.
Review 29:On the whole the food was good
Review 30:The oysters were not fresh, the breakfast wasn't good at all , the waiters were not good at advising the wines.
Review 31:The staff, the view, the Restaurant of the Hotel, the room No10
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Great value for money even though we went in January. The food was excellent at the rest. downstairs. Staff were very polite and the room was very quiet. Shower and toilet nice size.
Review 34:Spacious room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, great restaurant (better to take the menu than individual dishes). Very positive experience. The hotel is worthy of 4 *
Review 35:You're really on your own at this hotel...it's mostly a restaurant. The staff is not helpful and in fact they are aggressively indifferent.
Review 36:Location is perfect.
Review 37:No lift. Not easy for older guests in their senior years with baggages.
Review 38:Comfortable , clean room. Spacious for a group of four. Located near the best restaurants. It's my second time to stay in this hotel and I don't want to look for another one.
Review 39:We have travelled the world and seen poor to excellent hotels. We have never felt the urge to give a negative review untill now. The staff of this hotel is ignorant, arrogant and lacks professionalism.
Review 40:There is no parking and street parking seemed tough--we got extremely lucky and someone pulled out of a spot as we came in.
Review 41:Fantastic location. Staff helped unload and carry in luggage. Brunch was crepe pancakes, fruit, meat, cheese, breads and juice. The sea view rooms were totally worth it. Loved seeing Mt. Saint Michel from across the bay.
Review 42:No parking (only public parking) Not so cheap
Review 43:Splendid view from the front rooms on the sea and even the Mont-Saint-Michel Great sea food Friendly personnel Very good price-quality balance
Review 44:Hotel staff very welcoming. Bedroom was fantastic with excellent bathroom. Dining room served mainly fish dishes and you could not smell fish the following morning. Good value for money
Review 45:There is no parking and we were lucky to get a spot outside.
Review 46:Did not take credit card as security so did not put a hold on card which was good! Great location on the sea front. Room was a good size with nice bathroom. Wifi available.
Review 47:Problems with parking - in front of the hotel one can find only paid parking 5 euro per day and free parking is at another side of the town
Review 48:Well-designed giant rooms with picturesque view
Review 49:Noise from doors being closed late at night - need soft door closers Breakfast somewhat expensive for what was available

Review 53:The restaurant. The view of the bay.
Review 54:Breakfast was quite poor for this hotel. Very basic and limited. I would expect lovely French bread not bread rolls.
Review 55:Great family room.
Review 56:Nothing.

Review 80:Good view and wide room! Very confortable bed, table, chairs.
Review 81:All good
Review 82:Excellent staff, room and food. Maybe we came at a good time of year, but it was relaxed too despite Cancale being the oyster hotspot!
Review 83:bit pricy for what it is but it was valentines night, i think better deals available off peak
Review 84:position, view, restaurant, style, seafood, service
Review 85:None--all very good.
Review 86:We liked the overall hotel and restaurant. The room was well decorated--very nautical theme--and clean and with hot water!!
Review 87:Great location on seafront, room was small but comfortable with some nice design touches. Fantastic value for money.

Review 99:Ambiance, situation, friendly staff
Review 100:Cleanliness. Plenty of space. Beautiful setting on seafront in lovely seaside village.
Review 101:No elevator
Review 102:Very nice design, comfortable room
Review 103:The location and ambience
Review 104:Parking was very difficult. Other places seem to make an effort to help non French speakers but the restaurant staff here weren't very helpful. Would recommend eating somewhere else.
Review 105:The location and the upgrade option when booking
Review 106:Attitude of staff which ranged from indifference to unhelpful. Nobody smiled or made any attempt to be friendly and welcoming
Review 107:Quality of rooms and facilities. Excellent food.
Review 108:1) Hotel staff smoke and chat near front door along the day - it was just under our window. (But the window is good - you can close it and feel comfort again). 2) Sink worked badly - it was half-fouled all the time. We told about it at first day, but it wasn't fixed. It wasn't extremely bad, just inconvenience.
Review 109:Location! Nice room (funny idea with oar :) ). Refregerator, table, teapot+tea+coffee in the room - it's very usefull.
Review 110:Restaurant was very expensive. I realise they have a captive audience, but almost £7 for a pint of lager is just a bit excesive!
Review 111:Room was very good. Bed was comfortable.
Review 112:No hotel parking but easy to park on the seafront for 5 euros over night
Review 113:Lovely spacious and well appointed room. Fair trade bath robes and big spacious shower. UK TV channels so we could watch the news in bed. Sea view. Good restaurant.
Review 114:Car parking opposite(belonging to Concale local authority) cost 6 euros and then wouldn't let us out! Hotel staff to the rescue.
Review 115:Friendly and helpful staff(especially over difficulty with the car park). Superbly situated; lovely dining area and excellent food. Room overlooking the sea spacious and comfortable
Review 116:Nothing - this was a very pleasant surprise. Perhaps check-in could be a little earlier 14:00 to maximise on the super experience of this lovely little 15 room hotel.
Review 117:Fantastic location and very comfortable accommodation for our family of 4 on cycling holiday (2 adults and 2 boy teens). Family suite comprised of 2 fully equipped bedrooms (Wifi, TV) with shared spacious shower room. Wonderful restaurant with mouth-watering freshly landed seafood. (meat also available and veggie dishes for non seafood lovers).
Review 118:difficult to keep the windows open at night .
Review 119:The location near the sea is good, though it entails some noise because of the street passing by . The staff is most willing to wipe off some criticism expressed against the quality of the restaurant and took really care .
Review 120:There is no elevator so anyone with walking difficulties would strugglewith the stair case. Parking can be a problem, make sure you speak tothe hotel about the concessionary fee of 6 euros per day while you stayat this hotel.
Review 121:We had a room overlooking the sea and it was very good. The hotel isvery dog friendly. Many restaurants within walking distance if you donot want to eat in the hotel.
Review 122:Probably the smelly feet smell of the carpet.
Review 123:The accommodation consisted of two bedrooms which was really nice. The floor (carpet) definitely needed a clean because it had a 'smelly feet' smell which was evident on entering the room. Otherwise everything else was clean. Very handy hotel opposite the port of Cancale. Overall it was very good.
Review 124:This hotel really needs a lift. The staircase is circular and the steps are very steep. After all the money that has obviously been spent on this hotel it is hard to understand why a lift was not included.
Review 125:The whole of the ground floor of the hotel is a stunning restaurant decorated to a very high degree on the maritime theme. A restaurant like this would not be out of place in the West End of London. All the staff were most helpful and pleasant. The rooms were quite spacious, comfortable and clean. The parking arrangements are very convenient when they had been explained by the very helpful Manageress.
Review 126:Staff on reception on arrival were dismissive when we arrived over an hour after the earliest designated check in time and the room had not been cleaned. The reception staff just gave us our key and said nothing and was unhelpful when I asked about another room that might be ready. He just said they were full, no apologies. We had to wait another half an hour for our room.
Review 127:Location good, room decor pleasant and good room facilities with good sized (for France) shower room and toilet
