Reviews for Chateau Eza

Review 1:Restaurant was not very good and could not accomadare pepper allergy. We give it no michelin stars. Go to the 3 table restaurant instead for lunch and find another place for dinner. You'll find it is hidden in the old village. Great curry! Also, directions are poor. GPS is no help once in Eze. We encouraged Chateau Eza to indicate that the old village is where they are located and can only be reached by foot. The old village has an information attendant. The valet and the 'hard to locate mysterious black phone' is past the parking area where the information attendant is located - both on the right. You must drive through the 'do not enter' to get to the valet.

Review 2:The old village is perfectly restored. Unique perspective of the sea from the cliffs - gorgeous. Valet pulling luggage up by sled is a new experience. Overall not an experience to be missed.

Review 3:Everything but I'd just give a special mention to: 1. The staff - everyone was very nice and extremely good at what they do. 2. The view - it's absolutely breathtaking. We'll come back.

Review 4:we are very satisfied with the hotel accomodation. nothing negative throughout our stay.

Review 5:the staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. delivered excellent customer experience.

Review 6:The view is absolutely spectacular! The village of Eze is a sight to behold. The staff was so professional and did everything they could to please us. Big shout out to the valet guys. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are amazing....we were in the Eza room with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean....breathtaking!!!! We ate at their restaurant and everything was outstanding. Chateau Eza is truly special!!!

Review 7:Bedroom carpet was stained, at turndown did not replace towels, left them in the tub, did not replenish products until the next day. Have never had this happen at a five star hotel. Staff in restaurant were condescending!!!

Review 8:Front Staff were friendly, answered promptly

Review 9:We are middle-class travelers and this was the splurge of our month inItaly and France. We had a lovely time and are happy we stayed here, butit is a very expensive hotel!

Review 10:Incredibly beautiful location and room. Spectacular views.

Review 11:Nothing. It was wonderful.

Review 12:Property is so very unique. Staff was exceptional. We had flight delays on arrival, putting us late getting to the property. While the dining area was actually closed, the wait staff still set up for us and allowed us to have a superb dinner at 10pm and after 9 hours of travel, this was most appreciated.

Review 13:Spent two nights at the start of our stay on the French Riviera. Lovely and very comfortable experience. Specifically chose Chateau Eze to recuperate after the long journey to France. Eze is a small, well-preserved medieval town high in the hills with spectacular views of the Mediterranean coast. Perfect for quiet and relaxing. Requested a balcony room and ours had the surprise of a jacuzzi tub. Modern bathroom also had large soaking tub. L'Occitane bath products. Fresh flowers in room. Professional and gracious staff at both the hotel and restaurant. Outstanding service.

Review 14:The walk only village is understandably packed with cruise ship and bus tourists in the summer. Rooms are on the small side which is also understandable given the hiltop location.

Review 15:Very romantic location with magnificent views down onto the bay.

Review 16:The room smelt of smoke due to the fireplace. It would've been a good idea for some kind of air-freshener to have been placed in the room to cover the smell.

Review 17:Beautiful location, spectacular views. Staff was very helpful and polite. Loved the jacuzzi!

Review 18:Definetely nothing, it is a hotel grade 10!!! Perfect!!

Review 19:Everything, all wonderfull, the room deco, the place, the view, the food, the breakfast, the bathroom, the mattress, all fantastic!

Review 20:I would prefer to have an electronic kettle in the room, so that I can prepare some hot drinks for myself in the mid-night.

Review 21:Have a splendid breakfast on the terrace with a panoramic view !

Review 22:The location is spectacular, the rooms are delightful, the service/staff was 10/10. The whole experience was just perfect. Walking through the tiny streets of the village was part of the experience. I would like to return one day soon.

Review 23:We found good value in breakfast, but dinner and wine a little over priced

Review 24:Staff and our room was fabulous, we will recommend this hotel to anyone. Best deck and view we ever stayed in

Review 25:This was the most wonderful place I've ever stayed. The setting and views are breathtaking and the hotel and room decor are enchanting. The staff and service were impeccable, and we were even upgraded upon our arrival to a nicer suite. Amazing visit at Chateau Eza!

Review 26:The location was spectacular and the library room was stunning in decor and ambiance. I have to tell you something a bit embarrassing. From our balcony we could see right through to the private balcony below us. The couple staying there had no idea that we saw them buck naked sunning on their balcony. You might want to fix this situation and close the gap in the awning below.

Review 27:Our dinner at their one Michelin star restaurant was good but not great. The service was spectacular.

Review 28:Gracious service, unbeatable view of the Mediterranean, fabulous, immaculate, rooms

Review 29:Booked a room with a terrace for 10th Anniversary, but they tried to give me a room without one. Forced to pay another 1230 Euro plus taxes to get what I should have had in the first place. Booking.com have agreed with me and offered a derisory amount of compensation, but the hotel is still trying to wriggle out of it and the matter is currently being disputed with my credit card company. Beware!

Review 30:Pleasant staff, lovely view from restaurant. Well appointed room.

Review 31:The only issue I had was almost getting stuck in the bathroom because the handle broke. But I quickly found a solution for it so it was not big deal. I liked everything.

Review 32:The location is beautiful. The staff was great and really accommodating. I got one of the last rooms they had available that week and when I decided to extend my stay, they made sure I was able to stay in my room. After weeks of back to back work and no breaks, this place was a welcomed and wonderful breather

Review 33:stunning location stunning service and restaurant

Review 34:Noisy room. We were surprised at how much you can hear through those walls!

Review 35:Beautiful village

Review 36:Poor restaurant

Review 37:Eze is wounderful

Review 38:Location was both unique and spectacular. Quality of service from the staff was very high.

Review 39:Everything is perfect! must stay!

Review 40:room very small with bad smell no good value for money

Review 42:The hotel is not as nice as shown from website. The room is small, the price is not worth for such kind of hotel room.

Review 45:Nothing

Review 76:There is nothing to dislike

Review 77:Views Food Friendly staff Nice rooms Location

Review 78:Wonderful hotel, very pleasant and efficient personnel. Super comfortable bed, pillows and duvet. Can recommend without hezitation.

Review 79:there is nothing to dislike

Review 80:everything is just so special, the rooms, the views, the restaurant, try for a terrace table, its spectacular at night

Review 81:Nothing!

Review 82:Perfect location!

Review 83:It is best that you let the restaurant staff know that you are staying at the Chateau for a better table. Also, I would advise to make reservations in advance. They had made our reservations for the wrong night.

Review 84:We loved the room and the view. The setting of Chateau Eza is enchanting and charming. The staff was vey attentive to our questions and needs.

Review 85:We ate at the Restuarant that nite, way over prices and we both got sick. Our bill was all incorrect when we checked out.

Review 86:Location is great. All you need to do is go and have a drink, see the view, not necessary to stay.

Review 87:I really loved everything about this place. I didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food. They were closed for a private event.

Review 88:The view is amazing. You can't beat it. It's a small medieval village on top of a hill. I saw pictures of this hotel and fell in love immediately. They take care of parking and your luggage which is nice. You don't have to try to drag it up the hill. It's located between Nice and Monaco. It's is very quiet since it is small.

Review 89:Nothing whatsoever!

Review 90:Perfect location with spectacular views over the Cote d'Azure! Attention to detail and service could not be bettered. From the moment we arrived we felt enveloped in 5 star luxury! A truly magical place not to be missed! Expensive ....yes.....but you will leave with memories to last a lifetime!

Review 91:This place looks just like the photos. We had the red room with a massive bathroom, which contained a huge spa and a fireplace. The view when you arrive (and are offered a welcome cocktail on the deck) is simply amazing. Staff were friendly and the small village of Eze with its narrow paved streets is adorable and so clean. It was nice to visit in winter and avoid the tourist season. Everything in this hotel was fancy and we enjoyed the five star experience as a special treat. If you want to stay in the Monaco area, stay here, you won't regret it.

Review 92:The luxury room we first got was too small and simple. The other luxury room was still free so we got it. The restaurant is far overpriced for the quality. The wine prices are outrageous. The restaurant is not worth visiting again.

Review 93:Our luxury room. Beautiful, with a large bathroom with fireplace.

Review 94:As it was rainy day, we have no possibility to walk around the village and taste some typical dishes of this medieval place. And we have booked a restaurant in the hotel that was Michelin star restaurant that has created a special atmosphere of gourmet cousine together with a French music and best-white-gloves-service. The only thing to point is the prices that were high for wine (the lowest price for a simple table wine is 60 euro) and the menu without prices that has made a surprise at the end of the evening. Dishes were delicious (we took 2 starters: a cream soup and lobster salad, for the main dish: fish with truffles, sea fruits with polenta and artichokes sauce, rose wine). The chef has offered mini pastries with 2 caffes for us. Dinner was something special in all!! Even the public was international that has created a worldwide spirit in this heaven -high-in-the-sky place:)

Review 95:We have booked junior suite in one of the rainy day so that we can't enjoy all picturesque view from our room, but we enjoyed relaxing jacuzzi in the room with the candles around. Magic atmosphere for a romantic nights.

Review 96:It's a real hike uphill to get to the Chateau, vehicles can't get there but it's worth the climb!

Review 97:Beautiful location, very friendly professional staff, nothing was too much travel.

Review 98:You'll be tempted to choose for the 8-course tasting experience in the Michelin star restaurant, only to experience being rushed all the time. The sommelier was disappointing. Tip: give guests some light in order to read the menu and the winelist. It is rather difficult in the dark...(on the terrace).

Review 99:Reception was very friendly and professional. Location is perfect. Rooms and service are excellent. Ambiance is good. Lunch/diner with exceptional view.

Review 100:The main light switch was puzzling. Perhaps a little card withdirections on how to use it would help.

Review 101:The ambiance is second to none. The staff was very helpful andpersonable.

Review 102:Stayed four nights last week Was in Mideveal suite and second room formy college age daughters Place rocked from checkin to past checkout theycalled my next hotel in Nice while I was checking in to alert that girlshad left clothes behind Everything they say about this place is true.Expensive but worth every penny Service was beyond And yes toto toiletwas experience Don't miss this place

Review 103:Breakfast could have more options in such a hotel.

Review 104:The hotel is very beautiful, the staff is helpful and nice and the restaurant has great view and great food. One of the best views of my life! I got the Junior Suite (Panoramique) with I had a jacuzzi outside and could watch the wonderful landscape from there. I will be back, for sure.

Review 105:The stay was wonderful. The welcome drink was excellent, we sat on the balcony enjoying a champagne and the view while they prepared all the paperwork. Great service!

Review 106:Great panorama of the mountains and the Meditarranean sea. It was a stunning view and the best trip in my life. All my wishes was accepted by friendly stuff. I hope I can back this place.

Review 107:the room is so so and not as pretty as those in the picture. It is not that clean. We found stains on the towerl. House keeping is not good. They even forgot to put slipers after we moved into another room and put wrong welcome letter.

Review 108:the view of the restauran is good and worth to have the recommended menu at a scilent summer night

Review 109:Only one thing I didn't like - the blow dryers in the room were bad. I tried drying my hair, but the dryer over heated and shut off after a minute. They brought me another and the same thing happened. I'll bring my own next time.

Review 110:This was our second time to Eze. We absolutely adore Chateau Eza. The rooms are so charming and the views are spectacular! We've traveled a lot and I have to say this is the most romantic places ever. LOVE this place!

Review 111:The room is small and too bright! It's a little bit difficult to sleep in the summer when the sunrise is at 5 am... The breakfast was also disappointing for the price they charge (for the room)

Review 112:Excelent spot on the hills! Gorgeous view! Very quiet place also! The staff is very courteous and helpful!

Review 113:The balcony was very exposed to the people eating downstairs, they couldhave covered the railings to make more private for the guests.

Review 114:Hotel Eze is charming and very romantic perched on top of rock so quiteunique! The staff are super helpful and friendly- the Michelin starrestaurant was just downstairs from our room (the Jardin) We had anincredible view to the ocean- loved it!

Review 115:What is not to like?

Review 116:Location is spectacular. Only 12 rooms and service beyond great. Top of mountain with lots of small artsy shops that sell quality merchandise. Romantic dining cliffside and a chef that will prepare what you want. Nice little nearby restaurants that have views and more simple fare for thos who wish to keep it simple.

Review 117:It was incredible!! I don't even know where to start! The view, the rooms, the ambiance, the food, the service(!), everything was amazing and a perfect spot for honeymooners!!!! We had sea view from our balcony, a jacuzzi bathtub and they even printed out a weather report of our hometown in the main office the day we left!

Review 118:Several details were making our stay less than perfect:1. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Only a thermos with warm water smelling like coffee and a set of two camomille tea bags (water was too cold to actually make it anyway). This was not in the room every day, so it was not sure whether we could expect it or not. No free mineral water in the room. 2. No cosmetic cotton pads, small towels taken by the stuff but not replaced, shampoo bottles etc. not replaced when finished which would be a bad surprise hadn't we had our own stuff with us. 3. Just one remote control for 2 tv sets on two floors. 4. Too expensive breakfast for what you get. 5. No free shuttle to Eze plage / gare, which means you are forced to take a chauffer (45 EUR) or walk one hour through a VERY steep stone pathway on Sundays or holidays when there are no buses. 6. No lounge area in the reception (reception is just a mini room in a cave).

Review 119:The locations is amazing. Staff at the reception was very friendly. Theroom was very big, it was actually a duplex with a lounge area at theground floor and bedroom + bathroom at the first floor. Internet wasworking (after initial problems). Great view. Nice mini pastries in theroom (not every day, not sure what was the rule for it). Excellent bed.Great dark curtains. Very quiet. Good airco.

Review 120:Dining experience not as good as expected. Dining room tables set too close for this price.Again for this price. I would have expected to be seated at the same table in the dining room throughout our stay which did not happen. Lacks good public areas and bar area practically non existent. Difficult to associate with other guests

Review 121:Location, Views

The Fine Print

From January to March, the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Please note that due to limited capacity in the restaurant, it is necessary to book your table in advance for the different nights of your stay. Otherwise, the hotel cannot guarantee guests a table at the restaurant.
