Reviews for Nueve Leyendas
Review 1:Nothing we can fault the hotel for...but our timing was lousy...the whole town was shut following a bank holiday weekend so nowhere to eat during the day or night except for hotels on the Tuesday night we stayed. Lovely town but it was like one of those movies where people enter a town where a killer virus had just swept through and everyone was dead!!! There really was no-one else in town...it was very eery indeed.
Review 2:When you go to a hotel and there is nothing you can reasonably fault then you know you've stayed somewhere nice.
Review 3:The stay was perfect. The only minor problem was the wifi was a little spotty. Considering that we were in a small town this wasn't too much of a problem or unexpected.
Review 4:The owners and facitilities at Nueve Leyendes were incredible. The location and rooms were great, spacious and comfortable. Everyone was helpful. They shared lots of information with us and even gave us an unexpected private tour of some key locations in town. Highly Recommended.
Review 5:It's a family small hotel in the center of the old city. The owners gave us a warm special treatment once they found out that we came from Israel.
Review 6:The fridge in the bedroom was noisy. Breakfast was okay, but we would have preferred more fresh cheese and meat, rather than packet spreads. They did give us some Easter bread which was a nice touch. We were disappointed by their inflexibility around the timing of breakfast which began at 9am. On our penultimate day, we discovered that our bus to Córdoba the next day had to be at 9.30, meaning we had to leave at 8.45. We were a bit disappointed that, however nice the staff presented, there was no offer of even a cup of coffee pre 9 am!
Review 7:The location was very good and the room was stunning (1st floor, very large, with a sofa and quite characterful with its beams.)
Review 8:Having to leave !!!
Review 9:Pedro and Begona run a fabulous hotel in the beautiful town of Ubeda. It's unique in its style, based on legends of the town and each room has been individually designed by Begona. The owners were so helpful and kind. We shall definitely be back.
Review 10:Parking during Holy Week is a challenge.
Review 11:PERFECT location for enjoying the beautiful old town. Superb hospitality and spot-on recommendations by proprietors for restaurants and tapas bars. Could not have been more satisfied or made to feel more welcomed. Beakfast was terrific! Visited during Holy Week and had the bonus of seeing local processions each night -- SO much nicer for us than the crowds and pomp of Granada or Seville.
Review 12:The main floor looked a bit worn. Definitely not a "boutique" hotel in the big city sense.
Review 13:The decor of the room was charming without being fussy. Nice, clean bathroom. I appreciated the little touches such as the story behind the room's name.
Review 14:That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 15:Everything about this hotel was tremendous! Great rooms. Wonderful and gracious staff. Helped us to book train reservations (seeming mission impossible for the non-Spaniard). Great breakfast. Fantastic location. Highly recommended.
Review 16:Everything from the building conversion and facilities to the owners for whom nothing was too much trouble. And the hotel could not be more centrally located but still manages to escape the bustle and noise
Review 17:Very well situated hotel for all the main sights in Ubeda. We had spacious and tasteful rooms with all mod cons, and a very pleasant and good value breakfast. Run by a charming couple who gave good advice as to what to see and where to eat and drink - including one of the best tapas bars I have been to in Spain. The husband gave us a very interesting tour of the town hall (a former convent) before we left.
Review 18:Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful owners who went out of their way to take us inside sites in the City we would not have been able to gain access to without them. Good rooms in a lovely old building in a great location. Recommended
Review 19:Two weeks before we arrived the local town hall changed the road layouts which meant in was very difficult to get to the hotel in a car even when we knew where it was. Personally would have preferred a shower to the corner bath.
Review 20:The husband and wife team who run this small boutique hotel could not have been more helpful and friendly. They even took us on a private tour of the local government offices. Very well located for restaurants and bars and local sight-seeing in this World Heritage site.
Review 21:The only real downside (a minor one) is that the hotel is a bit hard to find. Prepare to park as close as you can to the center of the old town, then find the hotel on foot before you retrieve your bags. Once you find it the first time, it’s easy to get around—the hotel is as close to the beautiful central square and the cathedral as you could ask for, unless you spring for the Parador, which looked a bit stuffy to us.
Review 22:I highly recommend this hotel. Our room (a standard double on the top floor) was very comfortable: an enormous, firm bed; a comfortable sofa; a smallish but adequate bathroom; and a fridge. We slept very well all 3 nights of our stay—and took an uninterrupted siesta or two as well. (We followed others’ advice and asked for a room on the top floor and we’re glad we did, because the walls are quite thin, and we needed ear-plugs to block out conversations in the next room; that worked just fine, but if we’d had people walking across floors above us as well it might have been less pleasant.) Wifi was excellent. Veronija (sp?) was terrific. She’s very warm, friendly, and welcoming. She also sent us to two terrific restaurants. Taperia Antique was an excellent Spanish/Asian fusion place. It was really good, but Zeitum was simply off the charts. The chef serves upmarket, creative, Manhattan-quality meals, but at less than half the price you’d pay for this level of dining in New York. (The salmorejo was better than anything we had in Cordoba, which is identified with that dish; the goose-liver mousse coated in black truffles and topped with chocolate shavings—to die for! Try the cabrito, too.) We ate there twice, and found it truly extraordinary. Breakfast at the hotel looked OK, but possibly not worth 5€ apiece, so we had coffee and pastries at a pastateria in a small square behind the Ayutamiento, which was perfect for us. You can pay for off-site parking from the hotel, but we easily found it on the streets nearby—if you get lucky you can even park right across from the hotel (we just missed a space one day). Ubeda is a tranquil, pleasant town (much more interesting and prettier, we thought, than Baeza). Be sure to visit the recently excavated synagoga, which is breathtaking, but be prepared for a Spanish-only tour. There’s enough Renaissance architecture in town to keep you occupied for a couple of days.

Review 42:Open plan bathroom (loo is enclosed)
Review 43:The owners are really friendly and helpful; gave us recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. On our last day, Pedro took us to the Ayuntamiento to show us round and we saw the amazing city archives.
Review 44:Access by car difficult because of tiny streets (not the hotels fault)
Review 45:Ideally located. Bedroom just as promised in photos. Owners charming and helpful
Review 46:Difficult to find due to one way streets and road works. However we parked 5 mins walk away which was no problem.
Review 47:Small boutique guest house in a beautifully renovated house in the old part of the town. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Welcomed warmly by our host who spoke some English and French .
Review 48:The walls are quite thin between rooms and we had some very noisy guests in the next room. We banged on the wall at midnight and they quietened. If the hotel is not full it might be worth asking for a room away from others.
Review 49:The staff. Everyone was so helpful and charming, including printing our boarding passes for us, way beyond expectations. The room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable.
Review 50:Very hard to get to by car, and the breakfast was a little poor, goodthing it was only 5 euros.
Review 51:We chose this town as a stopping point between our drive from Marbellaback to Madrid. The owners are very nice and the hotel is right in theold town, the rooms are good and the place is clean
Review 52:There could have been more choice at breakfast.
Review 53:Friendly welcome from a very helpful family, particularly with car parking and retrieval. Excellent quiet position once we found it. Comfortable individually furnished room.
Review 54:No coffee making facilities in the room and the breakfast was meagre. Parking is difficult.
Review 55:Hotel has great atmosphere, in keeping with the historic city of Ubeda. Our room was spacious and had two huge single beds. Would recommend this hotel to tourists. Frank and Marian Colet London
Review 56:Everything is perfect.
Review 57:The family that runs the hotel is very friendly and gives excelent information about the city: what to see, where to eat, etc. Every room has the name of an Úbeda's tale/legend, and you can find the legend inside the room. Location is great, you can walk and visit all the main attractions of the city. For all of these, the hotel is charming. We would love to come back.
Review 58:A bit difficult to access but it's to be expected in a historic setting.
Review 59:The location in the old section of the town. The owners, charismatic, knowledgable and extremely helpful. Clean rooms The historic setting. Good value for the money. Would not hesitate to return.
Review 60:This is a stylish hotel at the heart of the old town with warm and welcoming hosts. We were given excellent advice on entertainment and eating-out which enabled us to make the most of our time in Ubeda.
Review 61:very hard bed and stairs to get to bathroom.

Review 64:Wonderful hotel in right in the centre of this beautiful renaissance city. All sights just minutes away on foot. The hotel is family run and the friendly owners make you feel totally at home. We were there during the International Music and Dance Festival, and they even took us to concerts with them and introduced us to their friends. Rooms are individually designed and furnished, and have wonderfully comfortable beds.
Review 65:It's not a criticism because we loved the hotel but other visitors should be aware that there's no bar and parking, although available, is not on-site.
Review 66:An excellent, family run hotel. Fabulous and quirky room, friendly and helpful owner. Great breakfast. Great location too. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 67:Nothing at all really. Perhaps a little surprised to find list ofincluded breakfast items in room, with price list for anything extra, egan additional cup of coffee. Might just be way expressed; however, wasnot charged for water at breakfast, although it was listed as chargeableitem?? May be something lost in translation??
Review 68:Traditional Spanish house - bit like a large B&B or small hotel inuk. Comfy, warm (excellent heating/aircon and additional heatingprovided - lovely, as it happened to be very cold when we visited),comfy beds, duvets, blankets, pillows, full bathroom, loads of hotwater, very helpful friendly owners. Lots of time to have breakfast -norush, so very relaxing. Thank you.
Review 69:Finding the hotel was very difficult at the end of a long journey. Breakfast was poor value for money. We booked 2 double rooms - for one of them the bathroom was very substandard.
Review 70:Good location, helpful staff who were very knowledgable about local area.
