Reviews for Le Cheval Noir

Review 1:Heating came only from the AC which I didn't really manage to control...the control pad next to the door didn't seem that responsive. A guide on how to use would improve this. If it gets really cold, I can imagine this AC can't warm enough. Radiators in the room didn't seem to be used anymore.

Review 2:Very nice reception by the staff working in the evening, very professional. The room was what we expected, no thrills, clean and warm due to the AC that had pre-warmed it. Bed cover had a cigarette hole in it, but I can totally live with that. View from the room (4th floor) was quite nice! Water pressure was good, just had to invent a bathtub plug to use the tub as no plug was provided. Room was quiet, but probably mainly due to other quiet hotel guests on my floor. Another nice thing is that the hotel is right next to the metro exit of line 5. And right next to it you'll find a supermarket opened till 21:00 as well as a bakery and a pharmacy. Quite convenient.

Review 3:Our room was simple but very clean. It was cleaned well every day and we appreciated that. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions.

Review 4:The walls are paper thin so we could hear everything going on in the hallway and the room next door, including Casanova's sexual activities! The air-con didn't work, the breakfast was substandard and it's a fair way away from Paris central.

Review 5:The staff were friendly and the bed was reasonably comfortable for the night.

Review 6:If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room, this is probably the wrong choice - accommodation is comfortable enough, but not stylish or particularly spacious. Breakfast isn't worth paying extra for unless you REALLY like empty carbs. Our bathroom was also inexplicably lacking in bath plugs, although that wasn't a problem for us.

Review 7:The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the price was right, and the sound-proofing on the windows worked well. Our low-cost room for two with private bathroom was completely suitable for our needs: somewhere to keep our stuff, sleep, and get clean while spending a couple of days at heavy metal concerts at Rue Oberkampf (on the same metro line) and the nearby Cité de la Musique.

Review 8:Your very friendly, professional and accommodating staff.

Review 9:Very small bathroom

Review 15:Clean and quiet room, nice staffs, convenient location.

Review 16:This is my first review having been to many hotels around the world. Instead of writing a list of really awful things.... just don't go there.

Review 17:close to metro.

Review 18:Hotel had no heating, or better the only available heating was via airconditioner which was not nearly enough. Cleanliness is also not their strong point.

Review 19:Location, price

Review 20:No parking, esp if you arrive and have to unload bags from car.we knew there was no parking but entrance is on the round about,so bit hard to get sorted when we arrived.

Review 21:Fairly comfortable, but dont expect the ritz, but ok for a night. Easy enough to find and on the tube line.

Review 22:Stated was near to the Zenith, but was quite a way away. Rooms small but adequate for the price.

Review 23:Hotel / Bar staff very friendly. Cheap hotel, ok for a one night stay.

Review 24:Helpful friendly staff, location around the corner from the metro whichtakes 15 minutes to get to the main city of Paris. Great value formoney... Could not ask for more. Just a place to sleep and keep yourbelongings. Just what is needed. Would stay again.

Review 25:The room was rather cramped. Also, some rather basic amenities for abusiness traveler (such as an iron for pressing shirts) was lacking -they had to dig out an iron from a storage closet and use a table andtowel as the ironing board.

Review 26:The gentleman working the check-in when I arrived was outstanding. Hewas very helpful in getting me settled early (checked in by 11:30 in themorning, after an overnight flight), and helped me with directions towhere I was going. He was very helpful and patient.
