Reviews for Fonda Del Tozal

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:If you like boutique or fancy/luxury hotels then this is not the place for you. The Fondu is a fabulously atmospheric and old Inn which has seemingly been in Teruel since the beginning of time. Everything about this place I liked, including the equally old and cavernous tavern downstairs.

Review 3:The room and the bathroom were comfortable and spatial with an atmosphere of old times. It could be seen authentic materials and adequate restoration with very good sense.

Review 4:Uncomfortable bed. Noisy bar downstairs. However, cheap and did the job

Review 5:Great Location. Great Value. Great if travelling with Pets. Very Basic and ok for a stopover.

Review 6:Loved everything, but if you are looking for super luxury this is not the place. Some other reviewers have complained about the uneven tiles and antique furniture etc, but for me that is what makes the place special.

Review 7:Its a 500 year old coaching inn, and retains the feeling of travelllers through the ages. The decor is totally in keeping with its age, and we loved the quirky touches in the rooms. Very clean and lovely and warm (we were staying in winter). The bar downstaris is cheap and welcoming. The location is fantastic, 2 minutes walking to everything in Teruel. And top value for money. Cannot recommend highly enough

Review 8:They did a great job of converting such an old structure into a more modern accommodation. Appreciate that. Enjoy it. Marvel at how they preserved the original feel of the building. Then enjoy the converted stable-bar and dive into the old city. Wonderful experience.

Review 9:There was no hot water fitted for the wash basin and no plug either. Parking was a ten minute walk away at an expensive public car park. The noise overnight (because of its central position) made sleep virtually impossible.

Review 10:The property had great character and the central location was good for exploring the city.

Review 11:A small and minor thing, I would have liked a full length mirror (basic and plain would be fine) in room ( most ladies do :) ) and possibly a small hair dryer but I didn't expect the hair dryer for the price.

Review 12:Rafa, the host who met us was delightful, friendly and very helpful. It's not fancy new or modern but its not meant to be and I liked that element. It was very clean and tidy with lovely ambiance and rooms have been updated in old style. The attached bar is also friendly with great ambiance too. Great location for historico centro. Family run establishment working hard to create old world feeling without unnecessary big business fluffy nonsense.

Review 13:Staff very nice and helpful. You really got a feel for how travelers were looked after 200 years ago. The building is quirky, really enjoyed it. Value for money, not a luxury experience, but a very good experience all the same. will go back

Review 14:Being in a medieval Inn

Review 15:Old and uncomfortable rooms

Review 16:Center location

Review 17:Loved the hotel, very modern. Rooms immaculate, and fabulous breakfast. Only stayed 1 night while on a motorcycle tour.

Review 18:AUTHENTICITE

Review 19:Very friendly and informative staff. The Fonda has an amazing sense of history. It was great having a room with a balcony.

Review 20:splendid C16 inn - bedrooms quirky and not very comfortable but atmosphere good

Review 21:Our room was very basic with poor facilities. Not suitable for mature couple.

Review 22:Location and atmosphere in the town.

Review 23:This is reputedly the oldest Inn in Spain. It has deliciously sloping tiled floors and creaky staircases.

Review 24:no parking and there is a cost until 20.00 hours on week days

Review 25:old building

Review 26:Ifyou like new hotels give thisa miss...if you like history you will love it. great town to boot

Review 27:Temperature was too cold

Review 28:Location

Review 29:Very noisy at night due to bar beneath hotel and revellers passing by.

Review 30:Being in the centre of city.

Review 31:lovely building, over 500 years history as a hostel/posada

Review 32:no breakfast included a problem with hot water

Review 33:location, atmosphere

Review 34:not recommended for persons with heavy luggage - no lift and difficult stairs

Review 35:the location is excellent

Review 36:Air conditioning would be nice but completely forgivable.

Review 37:Raffa is doing a great and loving job of looking after this historic building.

Review 38:Great place in the heart of Teruel. Great hosts, very helpful and kind. Beautiful rooms with old amazing furniture. Just love this place!

Review 39:Parking only available in the town which means when bags have been dropped car must be relocated and pay and display car park has max 2 hrs stay at peak times.

Review 40:Characterful and quirky, but clean and warm with a nice atmosphere and typical Spanish bar attached.

Review 41:Location- parking availability poor. We requested a ground floor room as we had our dog with us but got a top floor room. The bathroom sink didn't have a plug. When we wanted to leave we had to phone to get somebody to come and check us out.

Review 42:Sadly not very much.

Review 43:Beautiful old hotel set in historic centre close to bars. Parking is pay and display nearby, but plentiful. Breakfast only available at weekends and hotel bar wasn't open when we were there, but would definitely stay again as room was large, clean and comfortable, and location was perfect to see the city centre.

Review 44:Due to the "museum-touch" the bath-equipment is a little bit like in the 1960´s

Review 45:Right "medieval- & museum-feeling",very familiar, owners very nice;vicinity to city center;the attached restaurante has also "medieval-feeling" and is a real spanish"bodega" with cheap prices, where you can get in touch with the nice people of Teruel! Fantastico! Si puedo,yo revuelvo!

Review 46:The bed ! whenever one sat on the bed, or turned over whilst in thebed, it creaked! Consequently neither of us slept very well! Cannotunderstand why the owners decided to place a new style of bed baseon top of four pieces of timber, which had been nailed to a very oldbed frame! Most bizarre, and no doubt in my mind that this was thereason for the noise. Lots of noise from other rooms.Very poor hotwater supply.

Review 47:Quaint building and rather quirky internally. The central position.Staff very friendly. Certainly not what we were expecting, but enjoyedthe stay none the less!

Review 48:The character of the old 16th century coaching inn was everywhere. The bar was the old stables. The room was charming with a balcony overlooking the street with geraniums. The receptionist was very helpful and the location was perfect for seeing the old town and being able to park.

Review 49:No parking - add about 14 euros to the price for overnight parking fairly nearby. No soap or shampoo.

Review 50:Location. Friendly welcome. Handy bar. Rustic decor.

Review 51:Nothing.

Review 52:Excellent location in the old town and close to a car park. Quaint, old building above an ancient posada. Conveniently close bars for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 53:Bathroom was a bit inconvenient--mostly the shower assembly. Had to pay for parking which made to room rate quite high for the amenities at the fonda. Hard to find the first time.

Review 54:I like the historic nature of the fonda, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The location was quiet, well situated to tour the mudajar sites.

Review 55:a lovely old hotel full of character & charm with all the original wibbley wobbley tiles - just great!

Review 56:I have no bad memories.

Review 57:Location in the old part of town, interior decoration, helpful and friendly owner.

Review 58:The oldest hotel in Spain and very cheap price. It can not be better

Review 59:No dislikes

Review 60:Ambience, history and friendliness

Review 61:noisy pub nearby

Review 62:athmosphere inside

Review 63:The perfect place for a romantic minibreak.

Review 64:The charm of a historical building in the very centre of Teruel, the friendly staff and home-like atmosphere.

Review 65:Amazing old place lovingly restored. Great location in the old town.

Review 66:old fashioned hotel in the historic center with a lot of character.

Review 67:this hostel was great old but in old part of town staff helpfull and very warm as it was january and 10 of us all over 65
