Reviews for Hôtel d'Orléans
Review 1:The standard room is quite small, and I prefer not to rely on the People's Republic of China for television news in English.
Review 2:Helpful staff, good breakfast choice, being able to book a garage at a reasonable price. Superb location - everything we wanted to see within easy walking distance.
Review 3:Parking a nightmare to get to it and in it, besides being expensive. Getting to the hotel was very difficult, the gps won't work near the hotel as ratified by the police thank to whom we were able to find the hotel.
Review 4:The hotel was nice, clean and food for breakfast ok
Review 5:No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It is not the hotel's fault, but getting there by car is a challenge - because of the tram lines, but overall it is better for traffic congestion in the city and the tram is very useful. Parking is expensive.
Review 6:Friendly and helpful staff. Nice welcome with a city map and info about how to get where we needed to go. Attentive breakfast staff. Excellent location for visiting the city. Small room but well appointed. Good shower, comfortable bed. Good value for the price.
Review 7:Orleans is a one-way-street city and it took over 30 minutes to find the hotel. Not the hotel's fault but there needs to be better signposting or clear directions when making the booking.
Review 8:Even though there was garage room for us we could not get to the hotel with our car. It was extremely difficult to manuever the streets. A good map indicating the proper route should be available at the front desk. By the way, it was very easy to find the hotel by foot, just not by car.
Review 9:The room was very nice and well maintained. New remodel was delightful. We liked it very much.
Review 10:There was no information in the room with details of the Hotel and times of breakfast etc. There were no details of how to get the free wi fi. There were also no details of how to use the Jacuzzi bath. This was all extremely frustrating.
Review 11:The clerk (when he was off the phone) advised of a restaurant nearby which was not too far for my wife with poor mobility. He also booked it for us. The restaurant was excellent.
Review 12:Room is typically small but well laid out. Bathroom is large with great shower. The hotel is a bit hard to find, but once you do the location is wonderful for seeing the sites downtown.
Review 13:Limited parking space when no advance reservation made.
Review 14:This hotel is a real gem. Probably one of the best 3* hotels we ever stayed at. Service was outstanding.
Review 15:Slightly confusing one-way system, especially with the tramlines.
Review 16:Stylish hotel in a perfect location for exploring the city centre. Great family room, compact, but what you do expect in a city centre hotel. Helpful staff and a great breakfast made for a wonderful stay.
Review 17:Underground car park should be avoided at all costs - & I mean cost as we have a very expensive car repair bill from denting the car on a wall in the very tight space available
Review 18:Helpful & cheerful staff. Good location near town centre.
Review 19:We only stayed for one night on route home from the south of France. Lovely hotel which has been tastefully decorated. The rooms are small but have everything you need and were very clean. Ideal position for walking to the heart of the town.
Review 20:There was nothing we could fault.
Review 21:Perfect location right in the city centre, yet quiet. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully furnished and immaculate (It was small, though perfectly adequate for a stopover, but we booked it very late and the hotel was quite full. We knew what we were getting, having seen an accurate photo on the website). Breakfast was excellent, with a variety to suit all tastes. Secure parking in a locked garage was a particular attraction, especially given the city-centre position.
Review 22:Difficult to find. The lift is small and the spiral staircase would be a nightmare for anyone with limited mobility.
Review 23:Close to the centre with secure parking.
Review 24:Breakfast would have been an expensive extra (for a family of four), so we didn't bother. Limited options for eating near the hotel. Tricky to get to by car
Review 25:Good central location, near the main square. We were able to reserve a garage opposite the hotel (good when we had a car full of luggage). Staff were friendly, and good with the kids. Air conditioning!
Review 26:Habitació masa petita/ Small Rooms
Review 27:Bona Ubicacio/Good location Fantástica atencio/Excellent Personal Service Molt net/ Very Clean Bon Quarto de Bany/ Good Bathroom
Review 28:The family rooms are really small and i doubt you would want to stay more than a couple of days in one as you will go a little crazy. Sadly the cleanliness was poor. There was a dirty coffee mug left and the floor seemed not to be cleaned. The bathroom is however surprisingly big.
Review 29:The location was great, the safe secure garage was also great. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good
Review 30:We were fortunate to get parked in street just outside, free of charge as on a Sunday and left early morning. At another time parking may be a little more difficult.
Review 31:We so enjoyed the comfortable, clean room with a lovely bath and excellent shower facility. We also enjoyed being city centre to be able to stroll in the city and enjoy eating out close by. A very pleasant lady dealt with us at reception.
Review 32:Nothing, but the car park is very tight for a large car!
Review 33:Everything was fantastic, we tried to stay a second night as we had an additional day available on our trip back to Calais but it was fully booked. The second hotel could not compare, despite having the same starting price! Location is outstanding, it could not have been better.
Review 34:The shower that was very busy at night and impossible to use with jacuzzi between 18 - 22, when was supposed to finish the bubble. Receptionist does not have a clue about English not even to numebr till 10!
Review 35:Location close to cathedral and city center
Review 36:Just a trivial remark, the tv was on during breakfast, which felt weird to me.
Review 37:We loved the jacuzzi in our room, it was sound-proof, location of course, and it's a relative small hotel, which was great.
Review 38:Nothing bad to say, only one minor hiccup was we weren't given the correct wi-fi details.
Review 39:Fantastic location couldn't have been better. Car parking facility was ideal considering its central location. Lovely city centre, fantastic buildings, great ambience, would definitely come back here and to the same hotel. After coming from a dirty and unimpressive Perigueux, Orlean was a breath of fresh air. The hotel was extremely clean, impressively appointed and impossible to fault. Well worth the money.
Review 40:The room was small, there was no fridge, no chair and the lift was small and felt unreliable.
Review 41:The location was fantastic, right in the city centre and the railway station. The room had been completely renovated and the bathroom was very good. We did not have breakfast there as, at €12, we felt it was too expensive. The street is very quiet, as is the hotel.
Review 42:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 43:Everything. Great location, lots of nice places to see and restaurants all around the hotel. Lovely staff, brand new renovation and it is superb. Breakfast was amazing, everything you could want. Well Done, we will be back.
Review 44:Bedroom is minute, with very little storage room and no space for cases.
Review 45:Hotel is perfectly positioned, in the city centre, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, tourist spots & river. Has garage parking on site. Well decorated & equipped to a high standard.
Review 46:Excellent location right in the centre with secure parking - not often found in a city! The staff were very friendly and the rooms and decor were spot on. Good choice for breakfast, the freshly sqeezed orange juice was really nice. All in all, a great hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 47:When we arrived at hotel it turned out that they don't have free rooms even though we had a reservation. A very kind staff member had booked a room for us in a 4 star hotel (Best Western Hôtel d'Arc). The new hotel was clean, but rooms were small. There was no lock on toilet door, bad air conditioning.
Review 48:Good Location, great facilities, clean room, kind staff
Review 49:Unfortunately hotel was overbooked at the time we arrived. Staff was were very helpfull to find a good alternative. We could park the car in their private and safe parking garage.
Review 50:Booked and paid extra for parking. Which was worth it for the peace of mind od parking 2 motorbikes. Parking was a real catacomb, quite an experience!
Review 51:Paid a slightly higher price than Booking.com stated. when we realised this the owner wouldn't change the bill-said it was between us and Booking.com
Review 52:Good hotel, very modern and clean with a good design, in a convenient location.
Review 53:Tricky to find. The Metro has been built on the approach road. Look for Hotel Sign!
Review 54:Great staff, brilliant location, good breakfast and secure parking at the right price
Review 55:Not really bad, just that because of its central location it was a bit hard to find in a car down side-streets, but it's well worth persisting.
Review 56:Friendly & helpful staff. Good quality breakfast with quick attention from waiting staff. Varied options on shower, easy to work and efficient. Clean throughout. Lock-up garages directly opposite the entrance. Situated right in the heart of the city.
Review 57:A bit difficult to get to because of pedestrianisation of city.
Review 58:Friendly staff, refurbished to a high standard with fantastic bed and shower. Very good breakfast and garaging for car.
Review 59:The location could not be better. The staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and served in a very pleasant room.
Review 60:Clean comfortable room. Early check in was not a problem. Parking (on a Sunday) was in front of the hotel with underground parking 50 metres from the hotel. Very good breakfast.
Review 61:Surly reception. Booked into wrong room. Wouldn't recommend to elderly or with young children because of inadequate spiral staircase as alternative to tiny lift,
Review 62:Good Location. Garage
Review 63:We had a lovely stay at the Hotel d Orleans. The hotel is just off the central square, with easy access to Bars, Restaurants and shops. The hotel can offer you garaged parking, though it was quite tight. The staff were all very friendly. Our impression is it is family run. The breakfast was well organised, with plenty of choice, again the staff were always available if assistance was required. The room was very clean, with AC available. The bathroom was well equipped, with walk in shower area. The room was also very peaceful. We would defiently return again.
Review 64:No issues at all
Review 65:Location was superb - close to the centre of the town. Newly refurbished and looked fresh and clean Room was very good with an excellent bathroom Good breakfast Friendly people Parking very close
Review 66:Could have done with tea and coffee making facilities
Review 67:The modem decor and well layed out rooms were lovely, small hotel which had the best of everything you could require in a great location
Review 68:Located bang slap in the middle of Orleans but on a quiet street. Parking very convenient. Room small but comfortable for one or two nights. Friendly staff.
Review 69:Man on reception was helpful with parking in garage upon arrival and explained about places to visit and eat out. Room and bathroom were very clean.Wi Fi reception good. Excellent breakfast in smart restaurant/bar. All staff accommodating and professional.
Review 70:Lovely shower but it didn't drain too well. Not a problem once we got the hang of it.
Review 71:Hotel is perfectly placed, close to bars and restaurants. Very clean and modern. Room is small but has everything needed for a short stay. Having the parking garages was definitely a plus for us as parking otherwise looked difficult.
Review 72:Unfortunately the wi-fi did not work and as it was a Sunday/Bank Holiday they could not get ot fixed. Staff were most apologetic.
Review 73:Very modern re-furbished hotel. Room a bit small but very well equipped and perfect for just the one night. Great shower despite the fact that it floods the bathroom floor. Great location, just a short stroll to the cathedral, river, shops , restaurants etc.
Review 74:The room was small but beautifully formed! Just right for an overnight stay. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment. Receptionist was very helpful.
Review 75:A very modern hotel which was very clean and comfortable. Its location in the centre of town was great for exploring the area. The breakfast was excellent especially with the freshly squeezed orange juice
Review 76:Nothing.
Review 77:The location of the hotel, the varied and copious breakfast, the bedroom was perfect with everything well thought out and spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 78:No problem for one night stay but room/bed would habe been cramped for longer stay. Could not log on to wifi.
Review 79:Modern room in old building; very central location in historic centre; secure garage parking could be pre-booked. Very helpful staff.
Review 80:Very good location in the city centre. Excellent secure car parking. First class breakfast, well presented, plentiful and attentive, friendly waitress.
Review 81:The manager gave me a choice if rooms to make sure I had the one that suited my needs as I have mobility problems we had booked car parking and this proved to be great parked literally across road however think there are only 2 spaces otherwise you have to try to park on road or in underground car park a good walk away will definitely go back!
Review 82:Free Parking is difficult to find although a garage is available at 15 euros per night.
Review 83:Nice clean hotel in the centre of Orleans. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Review 84:We stopped over en route and after having dinner got back to the room to discover that the spa bath couldn't be used after 10 or before 8. A bit disappointing.
Review 85:The room was modern and stylish and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with lots of features. Parking (at cost) was a bonus although it was a very narrow space!
Review 86:Nada... all was good.
Review 87:This is the perfect place to base your exploration of Orleans. Everything about the hotel and room were great. Bonus was the parking lot next to the hotel with cheaper rates than Vinci at the adjacent plaza.
Review 88:nothing
Review 89:The hotel is very central in the old city and has it's own parking which is brilliant. Very clean and comfortable and very friendly staff.
Review 90:It's very good value and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. It is ideal as a stop over on a journey or as a base to enjoy Orleans and the surrounding area.
Review 91:This was originally just a stopover on the way to Southern France, but what a discovery! The hotel is brandnew (opened mid of 2014), everything clean and in perfect shape, very nice and professional owner family. There's a big garage right under the hotel (extra charge), even with a big SUV we had no problems to park. Breakfast nice and reasonable (especially for France), including fresh orange juice and eggs made-to order. Rooms are not very big, but okay with nice interior, Internet fast and for free. Most surprising to us: We did not know Orléans, a truly beautiful city with a stunning old city and an impressive cathedral - all in walking distance from the hotel. The historic old town is just 3 minutes away from the hotel, with beautiful pedestrain's zone and nice restaurants and pubs. We will certainly be back, next time for several days, a) due to the city, b) due to the nice hotel. Value for money: top.
Review 92:The hotel has been fully refurbished to an excellent and comfortable standard with great attention to detail creating a modern and very stylish look. The owners really look after you and breakfast was great. A must place to stay.
Review 93:Nothing significant. Desk area in the room was a bit tight and not suitable for longer business stays where you need to work long times in your room.
Review 94:Location Room Breakfast Friendliness
Review 95:arrived late and was pleased to find the hotel easily and well located near the centre. The staff extremely helpful. Parking also very convenient. Staff thoughtful towards dogs.
Review 96:Not enough time spent exploring the area but aim to revisit soon.
Review 97:The whole experience from a long days travel meant we were all nervous about what we could expect from this area and hotel however, I'm pleased to say this hotel was completely outstanding and one I would be more than happy to return to and recommend!! We traveled with two young kids and our dog and we were all made to feel at home!!
Review 98:Relatively recent refurbishing, but the isolation is already a bit out dated. Room is small, but again this is center of town in an oldish building, you cant have everything.
Review 99:Twenty or thirty meters from the very center of town (place des Martrois), still unbelievably calm (at least for our room facing courtyard, but the street itself is calm). Staff kind and helpful.
Review 100:Parking facilities were extremely limited and no one appeared to have paid any attention to my advance request to reserve one. Ended up parking on a meter in the road which worked out well as it was a Saturday night. (no charge on Sunday)
Review 101:Central location, room was compact but very well equipped. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 102:If you are clausterphobic the lift might be a bit of a challenge - two person lift that tends to bounce about a bit when starting / stopping.
Review 103:Central location. Cleanliness, very helpfull and friendly staff. Individually lockable garages - need reservation, there are few - very pleasant to have.
Review 104:A fantastic hotel, I would recommend to anyone. Great location just off the square, near to the shops and the old town. Hotel very modern and clean. Best breakfast of our whole trip! Would definitely re-visit
Review 105:Kept awake by people coming in late and slamming doors to their rooms . This is not the hotels fault.
Review 106:Hotel located in centre of Orleans. Walking distance to train. Very clean and comfortable .
Review 107:The room we stayed in was small, would want to spend any more time that sleeping in the room.
Review 108:The hotel is situated in a great location, it's walking distance from the town and all of the restaurants. Great hotel for a half way stop off. The lobby and bar area were well presented. They also had a fully stocked bar! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. A hotel we would definitely stay in again.
Review 109:Bit hard to find as they had closed some streets off and the sat nav didn't know - so not the hotels fault, more of a warning if you are driving there. Apart from that absolutely nothing, we will definitely be going back.
Review 110:This hotel was right in the City Centre and it was worth paying for the parking as its in a little garage right opposite so very safe. Staff were really helpful making sure we parked OK and checked us in very quickly. The room was lovely, with a big bathroom and the best shower I have ever used. All very clean, comfortable and new. Nothing was too much trouble. Just minutes from the cathedral, shops and restaurants
Review 111:The garages offered are too narrow even for a medium size car and the underground parking isn't easy to drive into, risk of scratching the car. The room was large, but half of it was occupied by the enormous bathroom. It would have been better to have a larger bedroom (we could barely walk around the bed) and a smaller bathroom.
Review 112:Near the center, kind staff, good looking hotel, good breakfast with a gentle girl assisting.
Review 113:Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in room
Review 114:Staff very helpful. There is a little bar in the hotel to have a coffee or a nightcap. Lots of parking available in the street or you can use overnight parking opposite the hotel. Hotel is 5 minute walk to the cathedral and a minute away from the beautiful square which has plenty of restaurants and cafes.
Review 115:Some strange things... Why is the music in front of the rooms playing so loud that I can hear it in the room The fridge does not get sufficient air and is heating the cupboard. What a waste of energy.
Review 116:They very nicely renovated the whole place. Very convenient. Fridge in the room. WLAN well working and easy access.
Review 117:Nothing not to like
Review 118:Hotel refurb not totally finished on our first stay. All complete now and finished beautifully. Perfect position in centre near main square. Rooms finished to high standard and very good breakfast.
Review 119:Not the hotel's fault but because of a large festive occasion a main road near the hotel was closed and our Satnav couldn't find a way round. After over an hour of failing to to find a way and 2 calls to the hotel we finally made it. Then we couldn't get the "free wifi" to work and the hotel staff couldn't figure it out either. So a very nice hotel but not much luck on this occasion.
Review 120:Great location so close to the bustling centre of Orleans, a city we love and have visited often. Good secure parking (15 euros) opposite the hotel in four "box" locked garages as well as under the hotel. Good and tasteful refurbishment of the bedrooms.
Review 121:A small boutique hotel in the centre of Orleans, walking distance for all the sites. Secure garage parking in the heart of the city Great little place with modern comfortable rooms and excellent soft pillows (a real plus in France) Would come back again and again Just fabulous
Review 122:The staff in the breakfast area were really nice and helpfull, the staff in the lobby were 'diffferent'. Maybe they had a bad day...
Review 123:The hotel is in a great location, right next to a great plaza with a lot of bars and restaurants; close to the cathedral. The rooms are nice, the shower is really special (loved it). But the best of it all was the breakfast. This was amazing, everything fresh, a huge selection of things to eat and drink, freshly squeezed oranges and eggs cooked to order.
Review 124:Comfort room very small but adequate . Man on reception was on the abrupt side but not rude.
Review 125:Close to centre with private parking. Extremely clean and modern. We had a very restful night in a room at the back of the hotel.. So quiet for a town centre hotel.
Review 126:- rooms are quite small, but at only 95 Euros, it was a great value - when booking, thought that the cost for breakfast was a Euro or two too expensive, but it turned out thta the food quality was so high that it was worth it
Review 127:- well located (three easy blocks from train station; easy access to all the sites in town) - recent top-to-bottom refurbishment, so everything is brand new - excellent breakfast - same options as every other hotel in France (breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurt, croissants, etc.), but everything was a notch or two higher in quality than any of the other hotels we stayed at
Review 128:Bit tricky to find in one way system not helped by closure of surrounding streets (not hotel's fault, I agree)
Review 129:Good location 10 mins walk from town centre. One of the better breakfasts (with freshly-squeeezed orange juice) in a bright, airy restaurant. Good on site parking
