Reviews for Hôtel Archange

Review 1:Lots of stairs with heavy bags, no lift, basic accommodation for the price, nice guy that ran it, but breakfast was not included , stated there was tea and coffee facilities in the room, but turned out there wasn't any.

Review 2:Quite eccentric unique hotel. Central location

Review 3:Seems there was no elevator, I did not need it. Breakfast room was a bit crowded, but

Review 4:Great location, good internet, personal touch (fun and funky), friendly service, out of the ordinary.

Review 5:What a fun hotel! Every room has a unique, artsy personality that was really run. Our hotel room was decorated with TinTin comics and memorabilia. The room was comfortable and clean with a good bathroom--it felt like we were staying in the spare bedroom of someone's house. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. We needed to check in later, and the staff worked with us through email to make sure we had everything we needed in advance. Good, simple breakfast and nice people. We took lots of pictures of the inside of the hotel to show our friends back home.

Review 6:No shower, only hand held. No lift. Stairs only. Not a problem as travelling light but would not book if heavy laden.

Review 7:Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy parking although not on site. Easy check in/check out.

Review 8:Be sure to discuss all the details concerning the check-in and check-out beforehand, especially if you're planning to come at the weekend.

Review 9:The hotel is rather amusing. Our room was quite large, very clean and there was everything we needed. The location proved to be quite conveniet, though it was a bit loud outside in the evening. The host was very attentive.

Review 10:The only downside is that the location was a bit noisy due to the trams but this was blocked out when we had the windows closed.

Review 11:The hotel is very individual and the rooms are all decorated in different styles. It is in a very good location for students and anyone travelling by train as it is right next to the station. It is also centrally located within walking distance of local sights and attractions, restaurants and shops.

Review 12:Poor breakfast...cancelled second morning's to eat elsewhere. Although good for exploring Orleans Centre, close proximity to the station meant there was a lot of noise, especially at night with windows open due to hot weather.

Review 13:Convenient situation for walking around the town and easy car parking. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 14:Cannot fault

Review 15:Unique decor, Family room layout was perfect, kids loved their Tintin themed room. Grandparents got a chic decor which they were also very pleased with. Stay was made so much easier by the helpfulness of the English speaking manager Pascal.

Review 16:A hotel with a little more to offer, decor to get the mind buzzing, excellent location and as an Englishman it was a great touch to see the sports channel available for football!

Review 17:No breakfast staff turned up for us and other guests at agreed time. Also there does not appear to be any staff in the hotel whilst we were there so we just packed up and left. Also being above a macdonalds and next to the main station it was lively/noisy at night so had to leave window closed at night even though it was hot in the room.

Review 18:Short walk into town centre

Review 19:If you are driving, you need to pull off the road onto pedestrian area and usethe intercom to ask municipal police to lower bollard. You can unload your luggage and then park in the pay per car park a hundred metresaway. Free parking from 7pm to 9 and free on Sundays.

Review 20:Donald on reception was extremely helpful.

Review 21:Although there was an email about how to access the hotel we still struggled to find a parking space in the middle of the town when we arrived nearly the midnight. Ot would be better to have a clearer instructions and night shift staff. The breakfast could be better too.

Review 22:This is a very characteristic hotel which gives the guests the experience much more than just the staying.

Review 23:The only fault I could find with this accommodation was the shower hose in our bathroom, which needed replacing.

Review 24:Fun place to stay, with themed rooms. Boys loved their Tintin room. Good location.

Review 25:We stayed here 2 times and liked the quirky decor and very convenient location (walking distance from the cathedral and main square, next to train station and parking). The hotel was surprisingly quiet as it is so close to the train station. The rooms have clean, comfortable beds and the bathroom too was clean and basic. WiFi reception was good.We hope to return.

Review 26:When checkin out, i just needed to return the key so I rang the front door of the main building. A guy in a training suit opened the door and grabbed the key just before slamming the door in my face and mumbling thanks.

Review 27:Big room, close to university

Review 28:The rooms are amazing, and each decorated with a certain theme. We had the Arabian theme, and I must say that everything was in place for a great night there.

Review 29:The hotel is pretty original and the owner is super nice. Just call ahead if you're arriving on a weekend as the reception is only opened in the morning. The location is super convenient. Little tip, if you have a car you can park on the Munster parking behind the carrefour.

Review 30:bed was full of bits of i dont know what and bathroom was not clean

Review 31:a great deal of thought has been put into the deco of this hotel great location and if you like mc donalds you couldnt get any closer

Review 32:No muslie at breakfast

Review 33:Great location Easy to find Secure access Great surroundings Helpful and friendly owner Lovely atmosphere Very large TV Good wifi Bathroom clean Bedlinen clean Decoration of the room was brilliant Good coffee

Review 34:Next to Mc Donald's.

Review 35:Warm welcome. Themed rooms. Close to everything. Staff friendly and helpful. Room we had was large and comfortable with views to the square. Secure and great value for money.

Review 36:Not much really, our room was at the front overlooking the road and apart from some late night noise out side (it was a Friday after all) and the first tram going by at 7am I could find little fault. The optional breakfast was basic but fine and since we wanted to get away early for the second leg of the drive it did not matter to us.

Review 37:A family of 5 using Archange as a half-way break over night, we all loved the themed rooms and the family room worked really well as its two rooms which are only accessible via a secured lobby so you have a room away from the children but you know they are safe.

Review 38:Having to park the car quite a way from the hotel. It was free parking though and the car was fine.

Review 39:Lovely rooms, especially the TinTin room. Fab breakfast too! Good location as able to walk into town without having to get back in the car, which is important on an overnight stop over when travelling up from the South of France

Review 40:Nothing not to like - it's all good.

Review 41:It's a bit different but that's what makes it great - not a hotel chain doing it by numbers but instead a unique experience perfectly situated in the heart of Orleans. The staff and the whole ambiance of the hotel are really fantastic .

Review 42:Room was themed but rather tacky - pink everything! No lift - had to carry cases up two storeys No apparent fire escape Staff uncommunicative Breakfast was poor Towels cheap and nasty No Aircon - kept windows open and got bitten by Mosquitos

Review 43:Location - within walking distance of Centre Wifi good Room was clean Shower good Nice carpets on stairs

Review 44:If you have heavy luggage, be prepared, there are enough stairs to get a little tired, no ramp no elevator

Review 45:Very original concept Good ambiance

Review 46:Original and creative space . . . . refreshingly different from the large chain hotels. Memorable.

Review 47:Location and décor of hotel. Unique

Review 48:What's not to like, quirky

Review 49:really quirky interesting and accommodating. Beautifully decorated and value for money. centrally located and friendly.

Review 50:The hotel is very good, with many little details that make you smile and feel comfortable. Very artistic. Breakfast's good, nice room

Review 51:Lovely quirky hotel in a convenient spot. Charming owner too. We loved the typewriter on the ceiling!

Review 52:The very welcoming owner and staff, the setup, the furnishing, the decoration, the size of the room, the breakfast... everything.

Review 53:Good communication prior to arrival, unique decor

Review 54:Really helpful with our bikes. Stored securely.

Review 55:Very small bathroom in our room, rooms where very warm at night in the summer no air con or fan

Review 56:Great location

Review 57:Excellent location for visiting the old part of town, easy parking close by and quirky decor.

Review 58:lack of staff during weekends, smelly room

Review 59:Location was a bit sketchy

Review 60:Upgraden! And great location

Review 61:No lift so it was a bit of a struggle for me as a disabled person.

Review 62:The hotel was unique and a bit quirky. We lived the uniqueness of the decor.

Review 63:Excellent interior design. Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Inexpensive but very good breakfast.

Review 64:A friendly, accommodating host! Fun decor! Clean quiet room Centrally located Comfortable bed

Review 65:Very special furnishings, lots of French bohemian specialities

Review 66:parking was difficult

Review 67:The staff where great and the room was fun

Review 68:Nothing

Review 69:Friendly easy access to shops and facilities...

Review 70:Friendly staff, loved the themed rooms, very central location. Delicious breakfast

Review 71:Wifi was great, but not in our room which was inconvenient

Review 72:Great location right by the train station

Review 73:No elevator and no parking!

Review 74:Central location.

Review 75:Location - in the middle of Orleans. Interesting decor. Helpful staff

Review 76:No fault of the hotel, but very confusing traffic system making the hotel a bit difficult to access by car.

Review 77:Clean, tidy. Helpful staff. Very central

Review 78:Great location by the SNCF station and main town square, kids room (of the two ajoining rooms) had a Tintin theme. Parking close by and easy Wifi.

Review 79:No lift to top floor and very hot!

Review 80:Big bed, nice bathroom and delicious healthy breakfast. We loved the fresh fruit salad.

Review 81:Themed rooms. Good communication regarding arrangements.

Review 82:Good location, nice town

Review 83:The owner was very obliging/helpful and friendly. The hotel was closed on the Sunday we arrived, but all the details on how to gain access worked perfectly. The rooms are decorated in an individual and imaginative style - and we liked it.

Review 84:More facilities in the room would have made bit perfect. Fridge, kettle, iron would have made a difference. Especially when you're spending a lot of time in the room with small children at night.

Review 85:The staff really were great. Very accomodating. Good local knowledge. Really wanted to help. Orleans is an amazing city to visit and we felt that this hotel was perfectly positioned to see it. I would highly recommend.

Review 86:Breakfast was not slick - perhaps just that morning staffing was a little tight.

Review 87:Funky and quirky. Allowed the dog. In the town centre. Good value for money.

Review 88:Very basic amenities, no tea or coffee. Smaller than the photos would suggest. Very awkward unloading cases from car as no parking, so wouldn't recommend driving there.

Review 89:Location was good.

Review 90:The evening receptionist was not particularly helpful, and disappeared without trace at 20.30 on the dot. Also the bathroom was tiny, no cold tap water (or bottled water), bathroom ceiling was peeling.

Review 91:The receptionist in the morning was very helpful. I had car trouble and she helped me find the right garage.

Review 92:Very noisy next to the tram bring earplugs.

Review 93:Great décor, we had the Lawrence of Arabia room. Comfy bed and walkingdistance to old city. The owner/manager is very helpful.

Review 94:This is the worse hotel I ever stayed in. First of all the rooms are not soundproofed: you can hear everything happening in the hallway (lots of noise around breakfast time), as well as the other rooms. If you open the window the noise is so strong (there's a public fountain just outside the hotel), you no longer hear the TV. The bathroom is incredibly small: smth like 2 x 2 m. The bed covers and pillows were discolored and dirty. The blankets were shabby. One nightstand had a missing drawer, and at the other the drawer was stuck. The wardrobe was dusty and scratched. The floor squeaked at every step. The ventilator in the bathroom and the radiator in the room were broken. When I turned on the lights, the light switch came off. One spot in the bathroom was falling apart as well. The first night there was a dripping water sound that made it impossible to sleep. These are just some of the problems of room no. 5... The staff was very unhelpful: when presented with the problems of the room, they basically called me "picky" and the solution offered was for me to pay for an upgrade and then change room every night, but I would still have had to return to that room for 2-3 nights since they were almost full. They even managed to write my name wrong on the invoice, and when I pointed it out they said they cannot issue it again with the correct name, so they made the changes with a pen! My advice to all travelers: choose a different place! At 70 EUR per night, I felt literally ripped-off.

Review 95:The location is OK, close to the train station and a supermarket.

Review 96:The room is rather small.

Review 97:The location is very convenient and the man we were in contact with was very helpful and pleasant. And our dog also felt very welcome :-) which is very important for us.

Review 98:Nothing much - a great place for a city break hotel. No sign of a kettle though!

Review 99:Rooms were recently refurbished and freshly decorated. We had two adjoining rooms for a family of 5, the layout was excellent. The decor was quirky but a lot of thought had gone into it - the kids loved the Tintin theme in their room! The staff were charming and helpful, and the location is a 2 min walk from the railway station on the city's main street. The free wifi worked well.

Review 100:There is no elevator.

Review 101:Nice little hotel in the center of Orleans. Despite its location, it was very quiet. Parking is nearby and very affordable. The shower has a thermostatic tap.

Review 102:The location in the main centre is the strongest advantage. We were provided with the nice black and white style room, something rarely expected from the low cost hotel. Clean and calm. Perfect value for money for a short period city trip.

Review 103:Wifi reception was poor and the selection of foods for breakfast wasalso poor considering the price per person. The rooms were small withnot much room to move and we ended up with two separate rooms for 2adults and 3 young children which was very awkward.

Review 104:It was a warm place to sleep with bathrooms and television.

Review 105:Hard to find parking in the evening for a car with a top box.

Review 106:Loved the rooms. Tintin theme.

Review 107:I thought there could be more shampoo and 'soap'

Review 108:I loved that it was quirky, the manager was helpful, amusing, hard working. I loved my room!

Review 109:La chambre du surfer

Review 110:No complaints.

Review 111:Staff very kind. Great location. Friendly breakfast room.

Review 112:quite good location, beautiful decoration,

Review 113:Very friendly staff, nice rooms with a very special ambiance, very good value for money

Review 114:Every room is decorated differently, as a room of some movies. We had our bikes and they allowed us to keep them inside the hotel :)

Review 115:No parking

Review 116:Loved the tin tan theme

Review 117:No tea/coffee in rooms.

Review 118:Location, accessibility, friendliness of manager.
