Reviews for Hotel Ego
Review 1:Nothing not to like!
Review 2:We love this hotel as it is modern and perfectly placed for a wonderful beach. We stayed last year in the penthouse suite which was fabulous but our room with sea view and terrace this year was not a disappointment. Staff are extremely helpful and breakfast is fantastic.
Review 3:Transport essential, as not much within walking distance. Smoking from other selfish guests perpetuates into other areas. The out side areas become "no go areas" due to these types.
Review 4:Excellent restaurant. Seafood specialists. Lovely beach. Secure underground parking for motorcycles. Very polite and attentive staff.
Review 5:Very slow service in the bar area.
Review 6:Very modern and attractive hotel with beautiful views from balcony of the room. Clean and comfortable with good English spoken by the very friendly and helpful receptionist.
Review 7:The staff (especially room service), the views, the beach, the comfort, the breakfast choice was simply amazing, the restaurant next door ! We travelled with our 1 year old baby and all staff did everything possible to ensure it was a comfortable stay as possible for all of us. Can't thank them enough really.
Review 8:Noise from next door laundry room but especially loud electronic music till after midnight from nearby youth hostel. We left several days early because of the noise.
Review 9:Staff were helpful and the hotel was comfortable.
Review 10:Beds are very hard. Twin bedded rooms are fine but double beds are small doubles so not comfortable if you are used to a king size bed. Restaurant is expensive for average food and tables not available until 9pm as the lunch service goes on to 6pm.
Review 11:Location is excellent but the bedrooms are small.
Review 12:Room service only available in the evening? Lots of loud music from other hotel close by ruined the evenings sitting on the terrace.
Review 13:Good View of the sea from our room. Nice area, Very scenic.
Review 14:The gym and indoor pool were a little steamy
Review 15:We loved the Hotel and Restaurant. We didn't have breakfast because dinner was so good even being advised to share portions. Thoroughly first class.
Review 16:The only weakness in this visit came on the first night when we went to the sister restaurant Nico at 8.30 only to be told in a rather brusque way that it didn't open till 9. No offer of a seat or drink. Needless to say we never called again . But don't let that put you off the hotel!
Review 17:Ego overlooks and is just 10 mins walk from the splendid playa Area which is like a smaller replica of the horse shoe bay at San Sebastián even down to the island! White sand and clear water. This very modern boutique hotel gave us a warm welcome and a lovely room overlooking the bay. It has a small but attractive pool and its own courts.
Review 18:It's a bit out of the way, we had to buy and wear swimming caps in the pool
Review 19:Very modern stylish hotel overlooking the bay. Free parking with a fancy restaurant next door
Review 20:A small negative: terrace for pre-dinner drinks faces onto road and not the sea view.
Review 21:View from room and restaurant amazing. Breakfast available from 7 until 11 - no rushing in the morning Pre-dinner drinks & tapas v pleasant Staff very friendly and helpful
Review 22:Breakfast was excellent, loved the fresh orange juice & the variety of breakfast food. The room was lovely with a wonderful view. Staff was extremely pleasant & helpful.
Review 23:No restaurants close to hotel except restaurant NIto with great view but with average food, plus waiter forgot to order main corse; it's a bit pricey compairing to Santiago & other places. Stairs on the way to elevator and on the way to the room (not convenient with luggage).
Review 24:Location and view; breakfast, free wifi & parking. Lagoon perfect for jogging. Tennis courts.
Review 25:Our room had what was likely the best shower either my wife or I have ever experienced; truly luxurious. Adjoining restaurant was excellent as well. Note: Not actually in Viveiro, which was fine but took a bit of stumbling on our part to get there. Extremely easy access to the road into and out of town, however.
Review 26:Lovely views, smart, comfortable accommodation with a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant next door, which has a fabulous aspect. Make sure you book the table you want. Also, reception staff were most helpful and pleasant...
Review 27:I cannot imagine how you could have a bad experiece. It is so professionally run by charming hosts
Review 28:Staff were very friendly, remembered favourite foods and always with a smile
Review 29:unneccessarily expensive over elaborate restaurant combined with limited food options in the alternative from the same kitchen
Review 30:views over the bay, location to see the beautiful coast, the stunning nearby lighthouse and its precipitous setting , and the dramatic and beautiful second highest Atlantic facing cliffs in Europe after Croghan Mountain, Achill Island.
Review 31:Restaurant a bit overpriced, can fin better value for money in the town nearby (but one needs a car).
Review 32:Very cozy small hotel overlooking the beach, great swimming pool and jacuzzi. Free parking, padel courts.
Review 33:------nada
Review 34:Food - breakfast and dinner, view , facilities, staff so polite, swimming pool, area around the hotel , parking, internet, all best of the best and worth the price!! Don't hesitate!
Review 35:If you are not a smoker then choose to sit inside the restaurant instead of the terrace, but the food, service and views are excellent.
Review 36:Fantastic views, lovely balcony, excellent breakfasts, good facilities and very friendly staff in a modern hotel close to Viveiro which has good shops and restaurants. There are numerous wonderful beaches with facilities nearby.
Review 37:Nothing to dislike. Only grumble, and it is only a small grumble, was location for town. Tried to walk it but too far on main road and stopped at a roadside bar and asked lovely lady to order us a taxi. Not walkable. Town lovely.
Review 38:Beautiful hotel. Good staff. Town itself lovely, beautiful squares, bars, restaurants and free tapas everywhere you go.
Review 39:Wifi in the lobby kept dropping and didn't reach as far as our room. Odd glass wall to the bathroom didn't give much privacy.
Review 40:One of the best views we found in Galicia from your balcony or the restaurant terrace. Staff were fantastic, almost all spoke good English and. Rooms were very modern and comfortable.
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:Restaurant has a glass wall with a panoramic view of the bay. Food and waiting staff were excellent even directing me to cheaper wine which they said would go better with my main selection
Review 43:Very nice clean modern hotel with a lovely restaurant and snack bar facilities.
Review 44:The internet speed is not so good.

Review 55:Restaurant was good, but not what one could expect (one sun in guia repsol). A lot of dishes from the card where not available. No menu was offered.

Review 63:Spacious, tidy room. Beautiful seaview. Wonderful breakfast with very high quality local products.
Review 64:Car parking on a slope over the road from the hotel. Not far , butawkward sighting traffic. Room minibar fridge not working , not aproblem to us and if we had reported it ( we didnt until we checked out)they might have fixed it.
Review 65:See above, and: Lovely view of Vivieiro bay from our room and itsbalcony. Good restaurant and cafe. The very long quiet beach was an easywalk down the hill but a steep walk back ! 5 minutes and easy parkingfor the car at the beach
Review 66:Swimming pool and spa were quite small. A shame there was no sauna.
Review 67:Beautiful view. Close to beach. Free parking. Very clean and airy. Good food - although restaurant is a separate business. Lovely minimalist building. Friendly staff - spoke good English. Free wifi
Review 68:Not an easy walk into town
Review 69:Modern contemporary hotel located about a mile outside Viveiro. Very comfortable with sea view rooms. Apart from the main Nito restaurant there is a cafeteria which is a bit lifeless but serves reasonable priced food.
Review 70:Manager was a bit grumpy when the patio door in the room (cumbersome andawkward) got jammed. Apparently it happens quite a bit though. Justneeds to be treated gently.
Review 71:Location superb. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Staff onthe whole very friendly. Nice meal in the restaurant. Free parkingover the road but they also have a paid garage. Beach a very easy walkdown the hill.
Review 72:Although a bit tricky to locate once you get to Viveiro, the hotel EGO is a very nice place to stay. It's a sort of Scandinavian meets 1960's mix and the construction, interiors and rooms are excellent. The bedroom was really nice - spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were quite friendly; the food at the hotel restaurant was also excellent. I would recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
Review 73:The room was cold on arrival and took a long time to warm up. It would have been easy to switch on the heating before our arrival or to at least to check this.
Review 74:The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, a large selection and all tasty. The room was attractive and comfortable. We loved the modern style of the hotel and we had a lovely long walk to the beach and along.
