Reviews for Hotel Rural Convento Santa Maria de la Sierra
Review 1:We picked this hotel for its restaurant and we were looking forward to a lovely meal. When booking for Sunday night we were not told the restaurant was closed on Sunday's but on top of that we were told that you could not even have room service at all apart from what the lady at the front desk could put on a plate such as cheese!
Review 2:Bed size and comfort
Review 3:We feel that breakfast of toast and jam EVERY day with no alternative was uneventful and should be varied. Also the evening meal was only offered as Memu Of Day, but was good quality.
Review 4:The location and the area. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Hotel grounds kept very clean and planting natural.
Review 5:No choice of menu at all you more or less had to eat what they gave you never seen this before in any hotel .We had a power cut when I was there I think at least they should have provided as with a candle or a torch I was so frightened as we were the only ones staying in the hotel at that time my boyfriend had to go and ask for a candle as it was pitch black. Then we had to make our way to the resturant with the candle and eat what she put in front off us.
Review 6:The location was beautiful, it snowed when we were there and I had a lovely log fire in my room which I paid at in extra charge.
Review 7:I liked the phase of the place. I liked the comfort in the place. I liked the building, the atmosphere, the appearance, the design, the style, the look, the food, the simplicity, the complexity, the externals, the surroundings, the animals, the closeness to nature, the closeness to truth. The wonders of life. Life itself. I liked the beautiful staff. The helpful staff. The kind people there. I liked the promise I was left with after visiting. The promise of a good and romantic life. A grand life.
Review 8:A bit noisy if you're not a family with children. Maybe there were so many young children because we went there in August. I imagine it might be daunting if you don't enjoy mountain driving!
Review 9:Friendly helpful staff, great food,- happy to deal with different dietary needs. Amazingly beautiful location. Great for families with children. Excellent for nature. Sometimes it felt like we were in a Spanish version of Monsieur Hulot's holiday. Funny. Good funny.
Review 10:The menu choice in the resturant was very limited and the breakfast basic. If they offered a little bit more we would not have minded paying a little bit extra. For example fruit, yogurts etc.
Review 11:THe building and grounds were different and well kept as it was a converted convent. The accomodation and food on offer was good value for what we paid.
Review 12:No aircondition Poor breakfast No one at the hotel spoke any english at all !
Review 13:Pladed in middle of great nature Nice old house (renovated monastery) and relaxing pool and green garden Great (good) evening food !
Review 14:For every session you need to log in to the wifi net work
Review 15:Local food served at dinner
Review 16:The furniture is poor. The bed enough for two skinny young ppl. The breakfast was poor and you can see how the owner try to save every penny on the guests. We reservated a half board,so we was waiting for a menu to choose our meal. Suprizely,we get a one dish and it was awful. Nobody in all hotel understand english. How they think to get a foreign tourists?
Review 17:This hotel have a most exciting enviroment. Sitting in middle of ahuge forest and can be a best place to stay,BUT........
Review 18:The continental breakfast was not good orange juice and two slices of bread. The lights in the corridors were on time switches which went off without warning nearly causing my wife to fall down the stairs. The lights should have sensor switches. The lighting generally was poor. There was a general lack of attention it was difficult to find someone to serve at the bar. We would not return to this hotel.
Review 19:The location was good and the hotel clean and well appointed
Review 20:Breakfast extremely basic. No choice on evening meal, suggest you eat elsewhere.
Review 21:We stayed in Papal suite. It is beautiful with the most comfortable hand embroidered sheets we have ever come across in a hotel. The building is very attractive and well furnished. It is set in attractive gardens. Staff gave us good advice on where to go for walks and to see wild life.
Review 22:It takes about one hour to get there from the main freeway on very winding roads. The pool water was freezing.
Review 23:Clean but small rooms. Nice rural setting. The food was lovely.
Review 24:The breakfast was very meagre - maybe this could be improved.
Review 25:The location, staff, atmosphere were fantastic. The hotel is full of interesting artefacts. Dinner was a set meal and was very tasty and plentiful.
Review 26:Not really suitable for older couples unless forest walkingenthusiasts.Rather unwelcoming as when we arrived there was no one inthe building and it took half an hour for someone to turn up. Room wasrather cramped and poorly lit. Not enough light to read by. Food verybasic wth no choice.
Review 27:Beautiful location in the Forest of the National Park although quiteremote. Probably a better choice in high season.
Review 28:Food very basic certainly not good value.
Review 29:Location and rural charm of the hotel were excellent.
Review 30:Our room was near to the kitchen and was a bit noisy.
Review 31:The gardens were lovely. The hotel itself was in beautiful surroundings.
Review 32:no hot drink facilities in the room and nowhere to get a coffee before 9am.
Review 33:Peaceful and facilities good
