Reviews for Citotel Hôtel Marguerite
Review 1:The
Review 2:Location was very useful for walking to the various sites. Staff were wonderful: pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. The room was simple but very comfortable.
Review 3:Very thin walls, we could hear every word our neighbour was saying. No air con and windows on to street which meant noisy in the early a hours so reluctant to open them. All in all not a great nights sleep. It's possible we were unlucky with our neighbour , he had a loud voice but I'm not sure I would be happy staying longer than one night.
Review 4:Great central location. Good restaurants and shops nearby. Very close to places of historical interest. Underground parking near by. Staff helpful and informative. Lovely building.
Review 5:We really liked EVERYTHING about this hotel, and are already talking about getting back for another couple of nights more in order to explore Orleans. Hotel Margeruite is an ideal place to stay, small, neat and very friendly. We felt very much 'at home'.
Review 6:After a lovely stay we had a rather grumpy young lady receptionist check us out with very few words and no thank you or goodbye which was a bit of a shame.
Review 7:basic room but exceptionally clean and lovely comfy bed with very crisp linen - shower and bathroom gleaming. A very welcome destination at the end of a long day. It is a 2 min walk from the bustling old town and lovely restaurants, cafes, river and the cathedral so couldn't fault the location. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman receptionist on arrival who kindly gave us a city map which helped us a lot. Works well with families as they have lots of rooms with multiple beds.
Review 8:The beds did not have a normal size. Beds were 1.90 m x 1.40 m. When we asked about this we were treated very rude, as if we had a ridiculous request. It would have been transparent and fair if the hotel would have indicated on booking.com that only small beds are available. We tried to ignore the rude behavior, but the two staff persons we had to deal with were both very rude and unfriendly.
Review 9:the location
Review 10:Some receptionists don't know that there is a laundromat up the road!
Review 11:Quiet, big room, clean bathroom: no mould! Set in a courtyard with a bar on one corner and laundromat up the street. Cheap parking in municipal car park nearby.
Review 12:This hotel was airy bright and the staff helpful and pleasant. The room was large and spacious as was the bathroom. The hotel was near centre and very convenient. Handy access to a car park and hotel has an arrangement which gives you a discounted rate.
Review 13:We were late to arrive, and although the staff had been diligent in trying to contact us to find out our arrival time, when we arrived I felt like we were an imposition.
Review 14:Biggest annoyance was the noisyness of the backyard of the hotel. Catching sleep proved to be a challenge. In July the room really needed airco.
Review 15:Location of the hotel is excellent: close to old city centre. Good breakfast & parking facilities. Nice boutique atmosphere!
Review 16:The room without aircon under the roof was dull, the bathroom/toilet had no window. The atmosphere was therefore stuffy on a hot summers day/night.
Review 17:The location is ideal to walk into the city and the garage at 2min walk was the most modern & advanced I ever had in France so far.
Review 18:Car parking not very convenient. Difficult to park up to unload etc. Car park underground 80metre walk.
Review 19:The staff were helpful. Comfortable bed and room.
Review 20:Nothing. 0
Review 21:The location is excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we'll equipped. Breakfasts were good. No complaints. Parking system once you get used to it is very good.
Review 22:The wireless network prevented some apps from working. Browsing worked fine.
Review 23:Location - it's right in the city centre, 2 minutes walk from the main street. Good staff, good breakfast.
Review 24:nil
Review 25:if u take a bike to the chambord, pls note carefully the signs showing the way- missing one is enough to waste half of your day finding the way! whilst the indications could be very small n indiscernable!
Review 26:A little dated but i think it adds to the charm
Review 27:Bathroom was a good size and bedroom roomy with great view to street. In a good location and staff friendly and helpful.
Review 28:Breakfast wasn't worth the money
Review 29:The receptionist was very helpful in getting us setup with rental bikes so we could spend the day on the Loire a Velo! Nice, clean hotel.
Review 30:Some loud teenagers celebrating their last night of freedom before school started, about a block away. gone by 11 pm, not the Hotel's fault.
Review 31:A perfect location. A small pub located meters from the front door, which allowed take-away drinks to the hotel room and served meals. A cooperative staff that accepted delivery of our rental bikes and stored them for us. A perfect room and good breakfast. If we begin a trip or pass through Orleans again, an automatic, no decision repeat stay. Nice staff!!!
Review 32:Room selection - My brother was woken during night by noise outside but poss down to his room being on front of hotel and may have had his window open!
Review 33:Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Consideration: Parking - we were lucky but prob best to check with hotel. Nice little bar close by very welcoming. Overall great place and lovely city look forward to returning ;-)
Review 34:limited public space, hardly any staff about. We were told that there weren't many restaurants open on Sunday or Monday, but happily found that most were in fact open so local knowledge a bit lacking.
Review 35:Location, nearby underground car parking only €3 per night, did the business for us without the frills. Breakfast OK. Would use again for a stopover in Orleans.
Review 36:Excellent, helpful Reception. Choice of having breakfast in the bedroom with no extra charge. Location, easy to find, easy to park. Good rate for overnight parking. Very clean and tidy.
Review 37:Rooms are a bit bland. Breakfast room had been decorated since our last visit a few years ago but in a slightly odd style. Breakfast was adequate.
Review 38:Location of this hotel in Orleans is very good, close to the central shopping and restaurant areas. Also easily accessible by car and parking is not too difficult. Nice large bathroom with modern shower.
Review 39:Basic room was pretty grim for the price. Clean but dowdy, poor outlook onto garages, no curtains, shutters very old cindition. N ot sure how secure room was. V hot at night because too wary to leave window open. Parking facilities not explained until we checked out and by then we'd paid for a public car park which was far nore expensive. A lot of money for mediocre rooms. A kettle would be appreciated!
Review 40:Staff were polite and helpful, breakfast was ok, pillows were good!
Review 41:We were in a spacious family room at the top of the building. Opening the shutters on Sunday morning to hear the cathedral bells sounding over the rooftops of the city was magical.
Review 42:Didnt like the breakfast room being in the reception area, but other than this everything was good or acceptable.
Review 43:Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Hotel well placed near river and city centre with bistro areas all arround. Parking was easy even though the hotel did not have its own space, used private parking in pay garage, but hotel added cost (€3 per night) to your bill so made it easy to pay and leave the garage.
Review 44:Great location, friendly staff, quiet - perfect for a stop over between Calais and northern Spain. City was nice for a walk with a great food market, shops and places to eat nearby.
Review 45:Tea/coffee making facilities, poor. One plastic jar like thermos cup for drink between three,no tea spoon, only two packets of green herbal tea (yuk),two tubes of coffee and two miniscule cartons of milk.Other rooms had nothing. The owner should take heed, small changes will pay dividends.
Review 46:Excellent, friendly staff and owner.Extremely helpful with information about the area. Very clean rooms with a powerful fan, that was most welcome on a very warm night. The location is fantastic in a beautiful city, well worth visiting.
Review 47:This time it smelled as though someone had just had a cigarette in our room. It wasn't nice. After the window had been open for an hour it was OK, but wasn't what we wanted.
Review 48:We've been to Marguerite several times and it's always reliable. It's in a great location and has far more character than usual Ibis/Etap places.
Review 49:We were in a hot day, and an air condition could have been very helpful, but AC isn't common in France at all..
Review 50:The staff were very pleasant and kind, the hotel is at a very convenient location
Review 51:I would have liked tea/coffee-making facilities in the room.
Review 52:The staff were very friendly and polite, the room was well decorated and clean, and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 78:Closed parking nearby with special price for hotel guests. In center of town.
Review 79:Staff could be friendlier
Review 80:The lift was too small for the baby's buggy- this should be mentioned... not so family friendly
Review 81:The location
Review 82:Only a small point but corridors need a coat of paint.
Review 83:Hotel in good location but also quiet. Good sized room and very clean.

Review 104:Very central. Hotel very clean. Large triple bed room and nice big bathroom.
Review 105:Well organised, clean, friendly staff. The low-cost excellent parking facilities. Central location. Value for money. Good family room.
Review 106:Breakfast a bit light (too French for someone used to a big bowl of porridge)
Review 107:Good location, quiet, fair deal for money
Review 108:This was a good place to stay for a night or so.
Review 109:Friendly reception. Clean room, beds & bath. Nice easy breakfast.
Review 110:Noise (perhaps, just unlucky); needs refurbishment; no air conditioner.
Review 111:Good location, friendly staff.
Review 112:Staff were very helpful and friendly, location was good, room was comfortable, underground parking nearby at reduced rate for guests
Review 113:We found the Family Room very small for the four of us - even by Euro standards.
Review 114:Terrific location for Orleans visit (historical sightseeing and transport). Clean and tidy.
Review 115:The room was very small and cramped. The bathroom even more so. It was very basic but the price charged was a bit much for what it offered.
Review 116:Right in the city centre.
Review 117:Breakfast a bit expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at during our 3-week trip through France. Also, extremely difficult to find the hotel with no "unloading" parking available. When booking this hotel, make sure you print out good Google map instructions.
Review 118:Excellent location. Close to many restaurants and main attractions. Public parking available and close by at affordable price (3 euros overnight!).
Review 119:It did not bother me, but there is a little peeling wallpaper here and there - this is no Ritz, but it was clean and friendly and offered all the services I needed. The wifi would stop working sometimes so if you try to make a skype call that can sometimes be a problem, but for emailing and website viewing it was fine.
Review 120:Very clean and bright facility. Not all the staff spoke English but they were polite, friendly and did all they could to help. Located on a very quiet street but right next to the town center area, so easy to walk only a couple blocks to get to everything - and still get a good night's sleep. Fabulous continental breakfast - left full and satisfied every morning. The town has a marvelous tram line that is fast and quiet. The hotel is only 2 very short block from a stop, which will take you to either train station easily.
