Reviews for Hostal Nadal
Review 1:friendly and helpfull, older hotel with a little outdated facilities, but everything was value for money. Perfect location. And a very good coffee in the bar.
Review 2:Pigeons in neighbourhood (noise). No breakfast. House badly soundproofed (as probably every house on Mallorca ;->).
Review 3:Accommodation OK, clean. Nearby everything.
Review 4:The second night of my stay the water heating pump banged all night, could be heard throughout the hostel, but in the morning the staff were unable to explain. No staff on the premises overnight, worrying in case of a fire. The next night it started again and although I was offered another room, the sound was everywhere. Later it stopped. I did not change rooms but appreciated the gesture.
Review 5:This is an authentic 'no frills' hostel, with a '60ies' feel, which I love. The price reflects what you can expect.
Review 6:The all you can eat breakfast buffet (not included with room) looked disappointing. I ate breakfast elsewhere.
Review 7:Good location. There were 3 single beds in my room.
Review 8:Rooms facing street are very noisy. Back rooms facing garden would be much quieter. No aircon.
Review 9:Great location close to central square. Convenient bar and restricted hours café. Very good value for money.
Review 10:There's a bit of noise transfer between rooms. Decor is a bit dated but you can get over that for the great price.
Review 11:The location is central and the room was spacious. Represents excellent value for money in an otherwise pricey location. Great base for walking and exploring the area.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Great family run hotel near the main square. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels , lovely courtyard garden fir breakfast or cake in the afternoon. Excellent value for money
Review 14:Because of the very hard floors and people coming and going early and late, it could be a bit nosy at times.
Review 15:Great views, very comfortable room with clean facilities. Friendly welcome.
Review 16:The typical marble-like interior and flimsy walls make the hostal very noisy. But then, this is Spain!
Review 17:Excellent location for hiking, very helpful staff, nice courtyard, basic but clean rooms. Good value for money.
Review 18:Breakfast could have been bigger/better. As many there would be walking or cycling all day a better supply or tea/coffee would have been apreciated.
Review 19:Clean and easy with good location
Review 20:Slightly noisy at times but not a big problem
Review 21:Great value, good location. Basic but clean and excellent for the price. Good views, nice courtyard at the back (also a bar, so you can have a drink there if you like). Excellent if you are on a walking holiday.
Review 22:Beautiful views from widows, right in the city center to reach various tracks, the most beautiful beaches, sightseeing must sees and port connection, neighborhood of cathedral and main square. The personnel was very helpful, rooms were great for this standard. To me the best location for Mallorca if you want to see its beautiful nature - relaxed, causy and excellent location.
Review 23:Bede in room? Kinda random
Review 24:Well located in Soller, however if the public car park is full it can be a bit of a hassle. The one day we were there there was no breakfast..slightly upset! Greta value for money. Should maybe have more than one shower on each level
Review 25:There is no AC so... If you are coming in the middle of summer, you won't be able to sleep. TOO HOT!!! Wifi was very weak on the third floor. Also, amenities very limited, only soap and towels. A small, hostel-like shower gel would make a difference... Last but not least: the bed, quite uncomfortable!
Review 26:Our view from the third floor (windows to the street) - fantastic. Beautiful Tramuntana! It is also very close to the centre of the town and Soller is great as a base to explore Tramuntana. The price is also quite ok for the value.
Review 27:Great service, lovely people. Incredibly clean and excellent value especially if traveling alone. I had a great view of the stars and mountains. It was also great location for walks or shops and the wonderful town square. I would revisit in a shot.
Review 28:No air conditioning so super hot in our room, although our friends room on other side of building was much cooler. Also birds in averie in courtyard were annoyingly load every morning.
Review 29:Location was great. Staff were helpful & it was very reasonably priced.
Review 30:Not the best place for a very good night sleep in summer, as no air conditioning, not fan.
Review 31:Big room, very clean facilities, water point in the room, very good value.
Review 32:It was a little noisy because we were slipping with the window open and it was facing the garden terrace, but you could also hear people on the corridor or taking shower. Good thing I was carrying my earplugs, this way I could fall asleep without problems.
Review 33:Great location, 200m from the center, public parking is 50m away. They cleaned the room daily. The sheets and towels were changed in our 7 nights stay. Very good water pressure at the shower, it really surprised me that's why I am mentioning it :) Good price and nice service. Gorgeous window view.
Review 34:The rooms have no fans, I could not sleep for 2 nights we stayed there n therefore I couldn't make the most of soller. The heat was unbearable. Also, the buffet breakfast was absolutely not worth the money.
Review 35:The yard/ communal area was beautiful and it was nice to enjoy a quiet reading.
Review 36:A little bit discourageing thing is that there is only one toilet and shower on the floor, it may cause queues during high season. But yet we've never had to wait.
Review 37:Hostal Nadal is a nice place to stay and is in good location. The room is pretty spacious, bed is good and view from the window are nice. The hostal is a bit away from the main plaza, so it is always quiet there. There is sink and hot + cold water in the room.
Review 38:No fan in the room, very difficult to sleep in the heat Being woken very early by the sound of budgies
Review 39:Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff
Review 40:Too cheap! :) Nicest place I stayed on the island but by far the cheapest. Great complaint to have!
Review 41:Beautiful place. Super relaxing. Basic but comfortable and charming. Great location.
Review 42:There is no air con here so not ideal in the hottest weather I found it impossible to sleep even with the windows wide open, would be perfect when the nights are cooler.
Review 43:Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely little courtyard cafe, great location
Review 44:There was an heat wave in spain. And i wouldn't have been again a ceiling fan instead of light in the room :) It was really hot, but there was a water point in our room, so we could drink water.
Review 45:I like the view over the patio and the mountain. I liked the cleanliness of the room, shared shower and shared toilet. I like that the staff is a family, i like the free wifi, even though i didn't have to use it. I like the bird in the patio
Review 46:There was no pressure of hot water. This was so bad, that I coudn't wash my hair. Lady in reception spoke very limited english.
Review 47:Good place for short stay.Good location. Clean rooms.
Review 48:Nothing, you're not expecting luxury at this price point. I was more than happy.
Review 49:Nice garden/courtyard area at the rear where you can take breakfast or drinks/snacks. All the staff do speak English and are friendly and helpful. Two minute stroll to the central plaza. Basic furnishing in the rooms but kept spotlessly clean.
Review 50:Location is perfect and the room is clean. The owner arrenged us the room I asked for, which was very friendly. They had new room doors and locks since my previous visit.
Review 51:There were works being performed when we stayed, so the water was cold to take a shower.
Review 52:Very nice little hotel with beautiful yard to relax, simple but clean rooms, good value for money, nice staff
Review 53:Hotel was really noisy, breakfast was really basic (couple of toast and a slice of ham and cheese for 6 euros)
Review 54:Close to the center, reasonably good value for the money.
Review 55:Bed was too soft for me but that's just personal preference. Also booking.com was not obvious we would be charged per person instead of per room. So price was a little higher.
Review 56:Location near centre and price was great!
Review 57:excellent for families, backpackers, great alternative to the crowdy Refugios, nice little garden where you can relax, good breakfast, clean rooms and good beds, quite surrounding but very central!! Very nice stay!
Review 58:wi-fi in the room was weak, I had to use it in common areas
Review 59:very nice location, I had the room on 3rd floor and the view from the window was stunning, perfect place for hiking, very cloase to the central square, shops and restaurants, 15 min walking to bus station, very nice straff, felt like home there. I will definitely come back
Review 60:Wifi only in the lobby. Shower head was broken, and not a lot of pressure on the water.
Review 61:Basic (old) hotel in the middle of Soller. Good enough for a few days, when you're most out (walking to the villages and the mountains nearby).
Review 62:1. Nothing really, very quiet and no atmosphere but that was (I imagine) simply because of when I visited.I think there is little English spoken but after all it is a foreign country and so it is fair to have to make the effort to communicate in the appropriate language ! No breakfast on offer but again the time of year and plenty of places in town to eat.
Review 63:1. Off season the room was only 30 euros a night . 2.The room was basic but bed was comfortable and en-suite facilities fine. 3. The room was cleaned/bed made each day, standards of cleanliness very high. 4.Good location, just a few mins up to the town centre. 5. Good view from room (best views from back of hostal).
Review 64:Nothing not to like, don't expect Luxury though.
Review 65:Very central so ideal if walking the GR221. Was able to get Wifi, find good restuarant for Dinner and head off at 9am the next morning.
Review 66:Minor niggles - takes a while for shower to warm up and would prefer shower to be mounted on wall rather than handheld.
Review 67:Located in heart of Soller, a great base for exploring the mountains. Friendly staff. Good price. Happily stay again.
Review 68:Went with this as just doing overnight stop. Stayed in Private twin roomon first floor. Spanking clean. Good quality bed linen. Comfy bed. Barfor evening if you want. 5 mins walk main plaza. Car park payable at 6euros for whole day next door. Shower pressure great...
Review 69:We went out for dinner in the centre and everything, even any bars were shut by 23:45, we were told it would be better to go to the port for something more lively. You can get the tram into the port and a taxi back if you are after that sort of thing.
Review 70:The outdoor garden area had budgies, a tortoise and terrapins along with lovely plants. Staff were very nice and friendly, room was clean and had an amazing view of the town and mountains. Good value for money and a comfy bed.
Review 71:Hostal is a clean hostal and very cheap. The placement is good - near the City centre and a fine starting point for hiking. A bit hot though as there is no aircondition.
Review 72:The man employee was helpful but the older women weren't particularly friendly. Not a reason not to book, just wasn't a bonus.
Review 73:Great location and very clean. The hostal was spotless. We booked a room with shared bathroom and worked out very nicely. Parking very convenient and free during the night!
Review 74:Walls are thin, a neighbouring snorer disturbed my sleep.
Review 75:Room 103 has a wonderful view across the valley, also the tram can be glimpsed between the buildings.
Review 76:It's a good hostel-hotel for the budget-conscious - therefore you can't expect more than the necessities, and they were all there and adequate The only thing might be that the stairs to the 3F are a bit tough after a long day in the Serra Tramuntana!
Review 77:Soller is a lovely relaxed town, moving towards officially becoming a 'slow town'. It's a great place for hiking, strolling, chilling out (17 restaurants etc in the main square!) and visiting nearby places like Puerto Soller beach and Deia. And Hostal Nadal is an excellent budget choice for a base.
Review 78:No air con but at the price who expects it - but be warned, in the recent heat wave it was v hard to sleep - and noisy with windows open No water pressure in upper floor showers - not the best
Review 79:Near to main town centre, shops, bars and restaurants Good location for local walks Very clean and a lovely old building Friendly and helpful staff Nice bar - try the sangria :)
Review 80:too noisy owners dog barking at 6.30am birds in cages too noisy poor breakfast pillows as thin as wafers
Review 81:good location good price clean bedding & towels
Review 82:The noise from outside and inside was unbearable at times. Loud walkers and cyclist who had no regard for the other folk trying to sleep both at night and in the early morning. The dogs, birds and hens also added to the onslaught on your ears. we had to buy ear plugs to help with sleep. didn t like that lots of birds were caged in small cages!
Review 83:Location was good and Soller is a lovely place to be based. Family run and although not much english was spoken were very friendly.
Review 84:Beds were rock solid No pressure in shower and no hook for shower head Pillows were uncomfortable! Caged birds in breakfast area is barbaric!!!!!
Review 85:Location Amazing views Staff were pleasant
Review 86:The rooms are very basic, but they match what you can expect for the low price we paid (only €35). Beds are OK.
Review 87:Excellent value for money and good location. Nice garden terrace and great view (from rooms at the back)
Review 88:- some ants in the room and the bathroom
Review 89:very good price-performance ratio, friendly staff, wifi 4 free, located near the center, nice garden, breakfast ok, beds ok, rooms are clean, bathroom ok, perfect for hikers
Review 90:Small negative point, it can get quite hot at night with no AC or fan in the room.
Review 91:We spent 2 nights at Hostal Nadal. It is well located in the city of Soller, a few steps away from the center. Great wifi connection! For the price this is a really good hostel, clean, not too noisy, perfect.
Review 92:Very hot at night (not hostals fault !) so had to sleep with windows open which was fine apart from barking dogs and crowing cockerels. Fortunately no bites from insects.
Review 93:Central location for Soller very pretty town. Parking nearby but had to pay during the day, however free parking 10 minutes walk away for daytime. Lots of cafés, bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Beach at Port very good for swimming. Central location for lots of walking. Good views from room. Would definately stay again. Nice courtyard for breakfast, tapas drinks etc.
Review 94:Limited breakfast. Hard boiled eggs and fruit could have been provided. Noisy in room overlooking the street.
Review 95:Location. Nice guy in charge of breakfasts.
Review 96:Nada
Review 97:Lovely little place. Very friendly and helpful owner who went out of his way to help. There is a nice little courtyard, abd the food is good. The almond cake is a must. The rooms are pretty basic but are perfectly fine considering what you are paying. Good location..a couple of mins walk from the town square. Close but far enough away for it to be quiet
Review 98:The beds are a bit rough No AC
Review 99:Big room Free Wifi Breakfast was nice to have Location is excellent Staff is friendly and helpfull Value for money +++
Review 100:Very noisy, especially in the morning with dragging chairs and the like and also since there are no fans in the room the windows need to be open. A few little things, like no holder for the shower head.
Review 101:Clean, good price
Review 102:Unfortunately, we found some of the staff a little blunt with us, whether it was just the language barrier I don't know, but we didn't let it spoil our experience. The restaurant never seemed open and we only found the bar open once, on the day we left. Also upon arrival, the lady wasn't at the front desk although she was in the room opposite, not a problem but we saw a couple arrive the next day who were clearly confused and had to wait a while before anyone attended them to check in. We did encounter ants on one occasion, even on the third floor, but in reality that's not really something that can be dealt with, they will always find a way and it was nothing to do with the cleanliness of the Hostal. I spotted them in a lot of places on the island throughout our stay.
Review 103:The location is excellent, Just around the corner from a tram station linking Soller with Puerto De Soller. Shops, restaurants, the central square and Cathedral is less than 5 minutes walk away, at a leisurely pace at that. The Hostal is great value for money, bearing in mind this is a Hostal, not a hotel, I paid £139 for 5 nights mid August. and challenge you to find cheaper at equal value for money. Our room was cleaned daily without fail. The garden is nice to relax in, they have some terrapins(?) and a turtle along with two bird cages who constantly sang! ill leave that bit in the positive side as I quite liked it, although some may find it irritating.
Review 104:No air conditioner
Review 105:Great window view from third floor Close to center with lots of restaurants Free parking area (from 8 pm till 9 a.m) Great deal price/comfort
Review 106:They owners keep parrots in the cage and they ard very noisy in the morning. The breakfast was missing some fresh fruits and veggies.
Review 107:Good location, friendly staff, clean rooms. I would definitely recommend because it is hard to find a nice and cheap hotels in Soller. I stayed there with mother and sister.
Review 108:I got a room with bathroom and it smelled pretty strong... There is no aircon, so it was really hot (There was a ventilator, though).
Review 109:Hostal Nadal is conveniently located, not too far from the main square and the train station. Room prices are pretty low. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap stay. You shouldn't expect too much, but you get a comfortable bed for a low price.
Review 110:A bit disturbing with the noisy canary birds in the garden.. In general a bit noisy, slamming doors etc, but ok anyway.
Review 111:Simple but clean room with nice view. It wasn't a problem to share toilet / bathroom, clean aswell. Good value for money. Centrally located. Would deffinatelly stay again.
Review 112:Comfortable room and a lovely shaded courtyard garden. This is a good budget option in Soller, there are no frills but it's by far the cheapest place to stay.
Review 113:breakfast was a little disappointing for the price as very basic - no fresh fruit (but that's just my choice. It was a typical continental breakfast though.
Review 114:friendly and helpful staff. accommodation had character and charm. Lovely courtyard. Great location. Fantastic view from our room
Review 115:Great accommodation. Towels changed and room cleaned daily. Very friendly and helpful staff. Felt safe.
Review 116:The sink in my room was leaking, with a wet floor as consequence.
Review 117:Surprisingly good for what you pay, top location, view from room.
Review 118:Very clean and very comfortable, plenty of hot water! Great price and great location.
Review 119:convenient to town Lovely downstairs Great facilities for a hostel
Review 120:Location and price are excellent.
Review 121:Great location, excellent value or money, helpful staff
Review 122:perfect for solo traveller, walkers and bikers.
Review 123:It was ideally located, clean and the staff were very friendly.
Review 124:Great value. Good location. Public parking is very close by.
Review 125:The personnel is not always reachable when you need something (early in the morning, on Sunday, in the evening).
Review 126:Noisy during the night
Review 127:Friendly stuff, basic room with double bed and sink inside, very close to the plaza/main square.
Review 128:noisy room, staff hardly willing to assist with problems
Review 129:Room was very warm so uncomfortable to sleep , our room was at the front of the building .
Review 130:Good situation , and very good value for money
Review 131:Very clean, comfortable beds, very friendly staff. Good honest value for the price.
