Reviews for Hôtel Restaurant Les 4 Salines Mont Saint Michel

Review 1:No complaints.

Review 2:It is small “no-frills” hotel in a RURAL location with clean bathrooms, large comfortable beds and free Wi-Fi that serves an excellent continental breakfast. The staff recommended an excellent restaurant in a nearby village. We had no difficulty communicating with the mixture our basic French, complemented by their basic English. Slightly out of the way, but an ideal base for exploring the area.

Review 3:This Hotel is not really doing business. Check in time is only from 3:30pm to 6:30pm by confirmation letter ( in the shaded bracket after the check-in date). You are supposed to call them before 6:30pm if you are going to be there after that time. If you are not carefully reading the check-in time in the confirmation letter and using your common sense of check-in time (Usually 10pm or 11pm), you could get no one to open the door for check-in and no one answering the phone. I and my wife were there on 1, oct 9:30pm, which i personaly thought is OK for check-in, but when we reached the parking lot, the light suddenly turned off. I checked that all the doors was locked, only found one girl was going to ride a bike away from the back door. But she said, she does not work with the hotel check-in, and couldn't help anything. We then called the hotel phone, but no one answered. We take picture (attached below) on the paper on the door, it said in french that there should have someone in reception until 10:00pm on Thursday. But why it locked the door at 9:30pm??? I'm going to fight for it, if they still charge me. The next day, we went back to the reception, and the told them what we had encountered. A guy said he turn off the light last night at 9:30pm and we should call them before 6:30pm. Then I knew no use to tell them about this. And I need to do something about it later if they charge me.

Review 4:Playing game with customers.

Review 5:Loved every moment.

Review 6:This hotel was a wonderful find! The owner that greeted us upon arrival was very friendly and we felt very welcomed. The facilities had everything that we needed including wifi, and the hotel was only a short drive to Mont St Michel. The restaurant on site was outstanding! Perhaps the best creme brûlée we've ever had! Overall fantastic value for money - we would certainly stay here again.

Review 7:It's not far from Mont st. Michel and other villages of the area, though it's in a rural area and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. No way you can reach it without your own car. Didn't try the breakfast cause we thought it too expensive.

Review 8:Rooms are quite spacious. The building is clearly old but we could see it's been recently refurbished. The double bed was bigger than your usual "french bed" and comfortable. View of Mont St. Michel from some of the windows.

Review 9:We had requested motels with some staff speaking english. There were none available at book in and in the restaurant so it was difficult to know what to order and communicate. The staff did try their best though

Review 10:Good location. Quite. Staff helpful.

Review 11:No staff at night time. After 9 PM, all staff left leaving the hotel unattended. We were supposed to have a code to open and close the front door but the front desk people did not know it. Thay claimed the door was broken and left us inside the hotel without the possibility of going out and back in. In the room, the shower had no holder, the furniture smelled horribly and, as there were no staff, no room service and no vending machine.

Review 12:Relatively near Mont St Michael. Nice lobby and nice overall decor.

Review 13:You need a car to go to Mont St Michel, there is a period when there is nobody there for check-in (lunch break which is specific to France)

Review 14:Quiet, excelent croisants, excelents pancakes, clean room and nice and warm. We found it quickly by asking a villager

Review 15:Located in a nice, quiet spot of country, this hotel had friendly staff and a restaurant (excellent croissants!). It was perfect for our stay; facilities were a little better than we expected for a European stay.

Review 16:the bathroom was less than clean and the towels had seen better days. The decor was lacking in any kind of charm. It was difficult to find and a long way for the nearest town (7km).

Review 17:the beds were comfortable

Review 18:The wife was in a wheelchair, and the staff put us on the top floor. Wemanaged for 5 nights but we decided enough was enough, no alternativewas given allthough we did request a change of room. When we booked thishotel we neglected to say that my wife was disabled and the hotel didntsay otherwise.

Review 19:The location was beautiful.

Review 20:Upon arrival (which was very difficult) the entrance not groomed, Dead plants and weeds everywhere. Once inside, we were to we could store our luggage in a cabinet by the reception area inside, we took out the junk (dirty napkins and kiddy hi chair trays, we set out to see this extraordinary landmark! Upon our return our luggage had been remmoved from the cabinet and the junk replaced! We just picked up our removed luggage and left!

Review 21:Staff rude and spartan, and had no time to give us directions to the landmark. On a very hard to find, noisy road. Dingy with no air conditioning or even screens on the windows! Very elderly guests. More like a rest home. Entrance was not maintained at all with dead plants and weeds (Should have been a sign right there)!

Review 22:The rug smelled. The wifi was unreliable. It´s an old, second rate hotel that has been given a refurbishement. It´s overpriced, but everything in the area is. It takes half an hour to park in Mont Saint Michel, but half the problem are the parkings.

Review 23:The bed was fantastic. Huge and firm. The area is very, very nice and quiet.

Review 24:Location hard to find in the middle of no where. One friendly girl member of staff did everything-serve at the bar-take orders-answer the phone-serve food-clear away, felt sorry for her. Very tired hotel, rooms just ok,breakfast we were robbed at 17 euro for 2 people we got just a croisant and cold pancake. No kettle or team making facilities in the room

Review 25:The pizza was very good.

Review 26:To big, quiet, echoey

Review 27:Bed and bathroom. View

Review 28:The double/queen bed was two smaller mattresses, which drifted apart and left a canyon between them.

Review 29:Nice, clean, pretty!

Review 30:The location, the general facilities, etc.

Review 31:Very little

Review 32:Nothing.

Review 33:Quiet location and very good food.

Review 34:No amenities such as toiletries air conditioning fridge lift staff hostile to guest location difficult tofind if no Gps

Review 35:No

Review 36:The no elevetor, and the location which is about 15 km from mont saint michel

Review 37:The room was nice,a bit small. The staff was very kind.

Review 38:No wifi In room. Bad service from front desk. No maps.

Review 39:Country side

Review 40:No kettle or tea making facilities in the room.

Review 41:very friendly, very good food.

Review 42:when i booked it said it had views of mont st michel..it didnt, it also claims to have a great seafood restraunt, the fooe was very bad. when we arrived they told us they had only a single room...i had booked double, we were goin to leave when they changed their minds.

Review 43:nothing....

Review 44:Really bad hotel. I could hear toilet of my neighbors. Bad bed - get headache after my stay there. Bathroom was not clean. Too far away from Mont Saint Michel - 15 min drive by car in small roads.

Review 45:The room was not as big as we imagined but was not the fault of the hotel, no real complaints. Very good hotel.

Review 46:Staff were very friendly and helpful, also well presented. Room was clean and the bathroom was very nice (although it was a contest for hot water) overall we really enjoyed our stay at les 4 salines.

Review 47:The shower was broken, it did not stay in the correct position. It was not fixed even after having asked to the reception.

Review 48:The hotel is surrounded by fields, but close to Le Mont Saint-Michel.

Review 49:Be careful with the reservation time, you have to be there between 15.30-18.30 otherwise they place the room again in the website and can loosethe reservation (and the money). If you are late, ring the hotel well inadvance (and be very persistent so they keep you room)

Review 50:Very convenient to visit Le Mont Saint Michel (only 10 minutes by car). The place is quiet and the room was spacey and cozy!

Review 51:The place is difficult to find, and the map is not helpful. We distinctly remember leaving a cellphone there, but when we called, they denied seeing it.

Review 52:restaurant closed on the evening we arrived - and we were on bikes slightly cursory attitude to this, and did not offer us joining the half board people - having cycled out for our dinner we returned to find the restaurant full of people. Also not allowed to put bikes in garage until 9pm with no explanation. Not really convenient at that time - as we are early to bed after a long day cycling!

Review 53:clean and nicely done room. excellent breakfast evening menu was OK

Review 54:Although close enough to Mont St Michel, it wasn't too easy to locate, given that it is off the main roads somewhat

Review 55:We liked the friendly host, great relaxed ambience, clean facilities and the lovely surroundings

Review 56:Please consider that baby shouldn't be counted as 1 person...which prompt me to take room for 3 person instead of for 2 person.. It was irrational because different culture treat their baby differently by not putting the baby in different bed. Money is not the problem, but still my baby continue sleeping with us that night. Leaving the extra bed empty !!!

Review 57:I would say the hotel is good..nice..clean...

Review 58:Very very noisy!!! Not enough light in the room Bathroom not meeting standard 3 stars hôtel Electricity cut during 30 min in the evening

Review 59:Price quite cheap Room quite clean

Review 60:When we arrived the hotel was closed. W've tried to call someone incharge, but there was no answer. Finally, 25 minutes later a ladyarrived to open the reception.

Review 61:Quiet...

Review 62:Evening meal ( 3 course) was sparse and of poor quality, quite thepoorest we experienced in two weeks of French travel. We did not takebreakfast on the strength of our unhappy experience of the previousnight. Reception and dining room service was handled by the same man whowas obviously under pressure. On returning to our room after dinner at10.15pm we found that there was no light available in our room; 15minutes of telephoning and visiting recception elicited no response asneither were manned and so the hotel effectively had no staff on dutyfor that period. Finally, our man returned to reception saying he hadbeen out emptying rubbish, and was put out that we had been impatientenough to ring his phone continuously. Overall, a poor experience andnowhere near worth the 160 euros that we paid.

Review 63:Nothing, other than the bed was comfortable.

Review 64:The staff were very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. It was a great base foe a day trip to Mont St Micheal. The food in the restaurant was incredible - well worth it and great value for money.

Review 65:We chose this B&B because of its positioning in relation to Mont St Michel and we were pleasantly surprised and how lovely the hotel was. Set in a small hamlet of houses, surrounded by fields. From our window on the 2nd floor you could just about see the Mount from the bedroom window. Very bright and airy room with comfy bed, helpful staff and tasty breakfast.

Review 66:The only and biggest problem of the hotel is that if you dot not have orrent a car is a no-go! Everything is far and the hotel has no shuttlesor any other type of transportation, which leaves you depending on taxisand makes the whole trip very expensive.

Review 67:The staff is really friendly and the room was cozy and the surrounds arevery pleasent!

Review 68:Very small rooms, minimal decor No internet Reception closed upon arrival

Review 69:Charlotte was quite helpful Cheerful breakfast room Quiet location

Review 70:Everything

Review 71:Hard to find, and not in Mont st Michel area

Review 72:a bit hard to find...no lift

Review 73:great staff..comfortable facilities..excellent restaurant

Review 74:I was not advised that the restaurant wasn't open on a Monday and Tuesday which were two of my three nights.

Review 75:Quiet.

Review 76:Breakfast was not very varied (don't expect anything else than sweet food)

Review 77:Quite easy to find, comfortable room, available personnel

Review 78:all it is ok...

Review 79:kind of in the middle of nowhere

Review 80:Clean, quiet, fantastic kitchen

Review 81:Transportation is difficult unless you have a car and you like bicycling.

Review 82:It was quite and relaxing.

Review 83:More fresh fruit at breakfast

Review 84:Dinner was great. Nice evening walk. Stayed as we went to Mont Saint Micheal the following day.

Review 85:Quiet location, close to Mont St. Michel.Very clean rooms, friendly helpful staff.

Review 86:Attractive food but rather small portions (3-course evening meal)

Review 87:Very attractive room

Review 88:Wine was expensive and as the hotel was in the middle of nowhere there was not much choice other than to pay the prices.

Review 89:quiet hotel.
