Reviews for Azur Hotel
Review 1:No air-con !! This is not really a hotel. The rooms are actually small chalet blocks, with very basic facilities and no air-con. The whole place is very tired and needs a refurb. At 60 euro a night it might be OK, but at 120 it is way over priced
Review 2:The views are fantastic.
Review 3:A very small point but it would be nice to have an expresso machine in the reception area
Review 4:The location is gorgeous. Décor simple but stylish. The staff couldn't have been more charming and helpful. The swimming pool is great and heated with plenty of very comfortable sunbeds and parasols for all guests.
Review 5:This could be a super wow hotel, the rooms are nice but basic, with a bit of work they could have the wow factor, we had a problem locking one of the doors and had to leave it unlocked.
Review 6:This hotel has a beautiful setting on the hillside, fantastic views. Close to some beautiful quiet beaches. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly staff. They have tried to improve and modernise the rooms.
Review 7:Amazing views , new owners pleasant and helpful . our dog enjoyed playing in the extensive gardens .rooms small but nicely furnished, terrace not private but plenty of space for picnics, wonderful pool.
Review 8:Nothing/Rien/Nichts
Review 9:Very friendly hosts, great pool which offers a superb sea view, nice garden, and a good breakfast. Simply everything you need for great holidays!
Review 10:We got there and the guy had double-booked us; he found an alternative hotel for us. When we came back for our second night, we didn't get a room with a sea view as we'd booked. The owner insisted we had a sea view since you could get a glimpse from a corner of the room. An unpleasant experience and unpleasant man. Looks good in the photos, but our experience was we got none of it.
Review 11:Horrible rooms -- no privacy whatsoever. No air, hot without windows, so the only big door has to remain open. Other guests walk back and forth, next door neighbors watch their portable satellite TV until late hours and smoke on porch one meter away from you. Porch-walkway is shared. You can't escape the fumes and noise! Couples are having loud sex echoing through the rooms. Dogs growl at each other. For 120 euros a night, it is the biggest rip-off we have ever seen. Pretty much a nightmare "holiday." We could not wait to get out of there. We just paid the huge undeserved bill and left. The rooms are typical 2-star, which would have been fine, although the floor was dirty; the simple bath was OK. But in a room without air ventilation and any form of privacy whatsoever, it honestly was like staying in a youth hostel but without any rules. Even youth hostels have rules, about smoking and noise in community appropriate areas. This is a very very shabby place. It needs a total remake of rooms and grounds to even charge 100 euros a night. "High season" is an occasion to charge through the nose and without any redress. The manager is unkind and not receptive at all to these criticisms. He says one thing and then another. Doesn't care about the conditions of his guests (and, yes, the "main house" is nice; he himself is not living as he makes his guests live). We usually use Booking.com for our reservations. But in this one case, Booking failed us. We went to another nearby beautiful hotel with a view and excellent service, and paid LESS for the night than the Azur Hotel. I don't know how the Azur Hotel gets away with this, but we got mislead -- so we want to warn other people. You have to be careful in this region of France during high season. There are good places and there are some awful situations. Take this one off the list!

Review 35:Comfortable bed and great scenic view.
Review 36:Breakfast outside with a fantastic view is worth staying there! Very quiet and relaxing place.
Review 37:nothing that has to be mentioned
Review 38:position, view, hostility, beach, village, quiet nights
Review 39:Breakfast was goed en enough. Swimming pool with beautiful view. Room was a little bit small but clean what for us is most important.
Review 40:Room a bit small... But it did the job!
Review 41:Staff were top class. Good breakfast. Nice pool area.
Review 42:Perfect Location, View absolute perfect to the sea.
Review 43:Would have benefitted from a bar in the evenings and the rooms need some money spent on them
Review 44:Quiet location with an excellent pool. leaning staff were superb
Review 45:This is NOT an hotel! The web-site and literature are completely misleading: access is terrible, the house is for the owners accommodation, the chalet rooms are remote, the gardens are scruffy, the paths are difficult and from car parking over unkempt long grass. We stayed just one night and went to a HOTEL. The new owners had been there three weeks and it was not ready for guests. The signage from the village is inadequate. Overall very poor and booking.com should review the entry which is misleading eg why show a spiral staircase in the house when that is not part of guests' facilities?
Review 46:The pool and the view.
Review 47:It was a bit cold in the room, but I guess we just caught a period when it was colder outside anyway.
Review 48:Stunning sea view, small and cozy bungallow-like rooms. Good value for money. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 49:no air-con, but we knew that beforehand a bit hard to find by navigation but once you enter the village there are sign which lead to the hotel.
Review 50:Superb view from the hotel and its pool. really quiet and nice to stay there. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The bungalow we had was clean and had a large shower. there's also a nice little terrace right outside of the room which has a terrific view.
Review 51:Not a lot, maybe the lack of privacy as units adjoined.
Review 52:Loved the location. The views were magnificent. Cavaliere, where thehotel is situated, has definitely the best beach in the local area withplenty of opportunity for water sports. The staff were welcoming andfriendly. The pool was fabulous with more brilliant views of the goldenisles. We took a boat trip to Porquerolles and hired bikes on theisland, fantastic. I would say there is not a lot of nightlife for theyoung, but there are plenty of restaurants and the prices are fairlyreasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Azur Hotel again. The continental breakfast was worth having and set you up for the dayand again the views were magnificent whether you sat inside or on theelevated patio area outside. The rooms are fairly garage like. We had acomfort room in one of the middle units, but heard very little fromeither side, maybe we were lucky. The room and shower area were cleaneddaily with replacement fresh towels and the bed remade. Couldn'tfault the cleanliness of the place. Constant hot water for showersthroughout the day after coming in from the beach. We met French,German, Swiss and Finnish people on the complex who were very friendlyand spoke impeccable English, they put us to shame. Le Lavandou iscelebrating it's centenary this year and so there is plenty going onin the town. The big wheel is a focal point, although we were not braveenough to try it. The harbour has many fine sailing vessels. Just to saywe had a brilliant holiday.
Review 53:it´s better to have a proper transportation to get in and out. Otherwise get prepared yourself for a long walking up to the hotel.
Review 54:Hospitality is really good. The view from the hotel is amazing and we can enjoy the landscape from a long time without get tired. The breakfest is good and the service well-done.
Review 55:steep hill approx 300m to get to hotel if walking but with free parking in cavaliere drive to beach.
Review 56:quiet, relaxing, lovely pool for 2 star with addiquate loungers and mattresses.
Review 57:Wifi needs to be amended
