Reviews for Best Western Le Dormeur du Val

Review 1:Not impressed with the sliding door on bathroom which is a 7ft concrete wall which doesn't go to ceiling. Looks good but not very practical as the door didn't close properly

Review 2:Comfortable bed

Review 3:The room had been designed more for trendiness than comfort. The bed table that swung over the bed blocked the access to the toilet when not over the bed, the toulet door was designed to look rustic but just meant there was a gap between the door and the bedroom...not a great idea. The bath had a metal plate over the plug hole, clearly meant to be cutting edge cool but clanged when stepped on and was in the way. The lighting was inadequate, the temperature controls unnecessarily complex.

Review 4:The staff member was friendly and attentive, and the decor was attractive, fresh and modern. Close to station but a fair walk to the centre of town, which wasn't particularly interesting.

Review 5:Breakfast was extra which we paid for however it was very poor. As a comparison it wasn't as good as a Formula 1 breakfast we. Had earlier on our trip.

Review 6:The room was lovely with a great bathroom

Review 7:You have to pay for fuel on your card, DO NOT WITHDRAW EUROS TO PAY WITH. It was a nightmare trying to find a place that would except cash!

Review 8:Staff were exceptional, catered for every need we had even though we were english! Awesome room, very clean and presentable, excellent place to go if you want to sight see, the Ardenne Forest is where we visited and it was beautiful.

Review 9:An 'en suite' room that afforded no privacy in loo or bathroom, had no wash basin in the loo, no wardrobe to hang clothes and with wall lights at just the right height for a man of average build to bang his head. Breakfast not with the 13 euros charged.

Review 10:Little to like about the hotel but the Meuse valley is beautiful and there is a very good path/cycle track along side it.

Review 11:No fridge. Ensuite is behind the bed with sliding doors and not sealed off. Toiilet is separate from the washbasin so you have to go round the bed to the other side of the bathroom to wash your hands.

Review 12:Fun, quirky hotel in a good location. The duty manager (Benjamin) was extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Extremely helpful & friendly staff. Quirky, modern & relaxing hotel. The hotel is next to the train station and you can be in Paris in just an hour

Review 15:Couldn't get WiFi

Review 16:Cleanliness, location, friendly staff, comfortable bed.

Review 17:Clean. Tidy. Comfy. Great style. Polite and curtious staff. Nothing negitive to say at all.

Review 18:on street parking very limited, but you can park across the street in the rail station car park for 6 euros

Review 19:Receptionist was very helpful and friendly

Review 20:nothing

Review 21:The concept of the hotel is very special, modern. The room was very clean, the location good, friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast.

Review 22:The location was in a bit of rum area, we asked for a calm room, and despite it being at the back the mornings were not quiet (poor room separation/staff talking in corridor/people walking and making noise outside), the toilet was not properly sectioned off from the room, the breakfast was mediocre and certainly not worth 13 euros p/person.

Review 23:It was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and the staff were willing

Review 24:Best Western- Best Avoided! The price, the poor quality of the finishing in the room. The toilet was broken when advised the reception was told at 16.30 hours 'don't worry!' When returned at 10.30 still had broken loo! Noise from other rooms clearly heard and so poor was the service I left at 00.30 hours.

Review 25:The bed

Review 26:The air conditioning was not very effective and you can't make outside calls from the room, but the front desk let us use their phone to make a call.

Review 27:The design of this hotel is very cool, it was once a factory and they kept the industrial look (cement floors, exposed beams, etc.). The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is good if you're arriving by train. If you've got a car, the hotel provides discounted parking at the train station lot across the street. It's a 10 minute walk to restaurants and sights.

Review 28:As in most French towns everything closes on Sundays and Bank Holidays with very few places open especially to eat and they tend to close early in the afternoon. But this is not a problem if you plan your day properly.

Review 29:The Location was ideal as we were visiting our son who has been working in Charleville-Mezieres for the past year on placement from University in the UK. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean, comfortable and modern which we both liked. Our room was ideally situated at the rear away from the railway station, but I don't think the noise, if any would have been a problem. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again. The town is a short walk away with plenty of shops and a lovely square where you get food and drink. You have to remember that this is an industrial town but also has things to see and to visit. My son took us to Reims to the champagne caves which is around 50 miles or so away and the city of Reims is a lovely place with plenty of shops as well if you wanted somewhere else to visit. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Review 30:Spa was a all in one sauna in a meeting room, don't expect the morning In a hot tub ;) Be comfortable with your partner.... bathroom is separated by sliding wooden doors very funky but no privacy!

Review 31:Very funky modern hotel and very close to the Grand Place which is very nice

Review 32:Our room had no windows

Review 33:breakfast in room is fail

Review 34:the rooms have no direct light or air. I was very claustrophobic in the room. staff were very nice.

Review 35:the bed was very comfortable.

Review 36:The hotel was extremely cold, especially the breakfast room.

Review 37:Very friendly staff
