Reviews for Hotel la Vila

Review 1:Poor à la carte breakfast (the first day, I got even a plastic container of yogurt that was over its date), unfriendly staff (with one exception), broken shower, wifi not working, they tried to charge us extra upon check out. This was the cherry on the (not so tasty) cake. After all the disappointments, this was "the straw that broke the camel's back". We left really upset.

Review 2:Location, beautiful building -> this is not the merit of the hotel. Nothing really positive about the hotel services.

Review 3:Parking is a nightmare!

Review 4:Quaint and characterful old hotel in excellent position. Soller is charming, dominated by its enormous and beautiful church. We loved the tram ride down to the port resort.

Review 5:We loved, loved, loved this hotel right on the main square. The staff was wonderful, the old world style was stunning and I can't wait to visit and stay there again. Wonderful breakfast on the patio that was included. It was absolutely perfect!

Review 6:The town square is very lively first thing in the morning with street sweeping and rubbish collection going on.

Review 7:Great location in the town square for exploring Soller and eating out, loads of choice nearby.

Review 8:Friendly staff, central location, authentic though simple interior, quiet lush garden, very good Food in the Restaurant - I can fully recommend this hotel.

Review 9:Perfect end to our 10 day holiday in Mallorca, we spent 2 nights in the hotel's 3 bed apartment which is in a separate building with magnificent views overlooking the square and church. Perfect location, very spacious apartment, friendly staff, breakfast was lovely, the hotel itself too is beautiful with a restaurant and peaceful garden at the back in which we enjoyed our complimentary welcome drink. Cocktails are fabulous too :) Would recommend highly and have no hesitations in returning! We loved Soller (even in the heavy rain on one of the days!) It's beautiful and we felt the location of the hotel and rooms overlooking the square were perfect x :O)

Review 10:Hard to find parking and had to walk 500 meters with luggage then up 3 flights of steep steps to apartment Room was very dusty Breakfast wasn't very good.

Review 11:Large apartment with lots of room if you're traveling with up to 6 people. Great location right on the square.

Review 12:Everyone and everything delightful from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely, especially the scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Review 13:The wifi never worked in our room, despite it being rebooted twice, so we had to pop down to the reception area every time we needed the internet. Also our shower had a leak which came into the main bedroom, it wasn't a problem but was a little worrying

Review 14:Breakfast was good, unfortunately the day we left we were too early. They put aside a breakfast pack for us, so we were expecting croissants and muffins as these were on the breakast menu but got a ham sandwich?? Location = excellent

Review 15:Although it is a period building, it is very frayed around the edges. Awful bedding, terribly decorated rooms, gloomy and cluttered reception area, noisy aircon, no decent TV. I could go on.

Review 16:Friendly staff. Location.

Review 17:Being right on the edge of the town square meant access to holiday activity, restaurants, cafes and transport was very convenient. The hotel is old-style Spanish modernisto with a very peaceful garden.

Review 18:Penthouse is a tatty and dirty apartment in a totally separate run-down building approx 50 metres from main hotel with no internal contact between the two buildings. No minibar. No wifi. Dirty towels. Dirty bath. 3rd floor and filthy staircase. Disgusting. Do not book.

Review 19:Leaving to go back home

Review 20:It's really hard to find something we didn't like about this superb hotel. Wifi didn't work in the room, but it did in the public area of the hotel.

Review 21:The friendly staff introduced themselves to us giving their names. We were given a complimentary glass of Cava on arrival. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the square. Noise from outside could be completely shut out by closing the windows. The breakfast was freshly prepared and we were given freshly squeezed orange juice from fruits grown nearby. The staff were extremely helpful.

Review 22:Not a deal breaker, but my smart phone just wouldn't connect to the hotel Wi-Fi. Not a big issue for me, and in fairness I didn't complain as there were other cafes and bars in Soller were it did connect...

Review 23:This hotel has a really nice atmosphere and the location could not be better.

Review 24:Everything was good, facilities for making coffee in the room would be great (although I realise that this is not normal in Spain)

Review 25:Central location, freshly cooked breakfast, efficient and helpful staff, large and clean room, nice bar overlooking square, overall excellent place to stay

Review 26:Nothing not too light. Just pleased I only had to carry my heavy suitcase up to just the 1st floor. This said, there was help to bring it down again the following morning.

Review 27:In a lovingly restored modernismo building. You make your way to the hotel through a narrow bar, then up a narrow spiral staircase. Rooms not special but common parts of this hotel are very special. Amazingly good, generous breakfast, with a full tumbler of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Review 28:The most impressive thing about this hotel is the building in the fact that it has been protected and not modernised that would be sacrilege . The staff work really hard over various floorings providing impeccable service from the garden up to the restaurant and down and across to the street patio . The food is some of the best we have had anywhere else in the world. To find fault you would have to be picky.

Review 29:Got a room facing the Square and ut was a weekend. Terribly noisy with loud music. Didnt expect that in late september.

Review 30:Very nice breakfast. Beautiful building. The terass and garden.

Review 31:There are a lot of stairs and we would have found a lift helpful at our age!

Review 32:The location is excellent - in the town square, surrounded by excellent restaurants and just five minutes from the train, tram and taxis. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our room was a quiet one at the back of the hotel.

Review 33:Having to change rooms during my stay was inconvenient, but stained sheets and bed covers were worse. These basics need sorting out!

Review 34:Delightful Art Nouveau period features and great location with peaceful garden.

Review 35:We had rooms 7,8 which were on the 2nd floor. Given the age of the building there was no lift so it was a bit of a backbreaker although the staff did help with the cases. If you have a car then parking can be a bit of a pain. There was a large choice for breakfast, I choose muffins and toast, the muffins were tiny and shrink wrapped. My wife had salmon with scrabbled egg which was fantastic. You would have thought that we were dinning at different places.

Review 36:The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. The hotel had bags of character from the 1900's and a lovely oasis of a garden from the noise of the busy square that the hotel is located on. The complementary drinks were nice on arrival and the breakfast was generous if you picked the right items.

Review 37:WI-FI did not work on the top floor.

Review 38:Nice staff, perfect for price tag room and excellent breakfast (rye bread would be a plus) and of course the lovely location.

Review 39:The unexpected annexe room that was at the top of so many steep stairs and of a poor standard of cleanliness.

Review 40:The location

Review 41:NICE TO COME HOME TO SOLLER PLAZA AFTER AN HECTIC DAY ON WORK TOUR.

Review 42:A lovely little hotel in a perfect location - staff really friendly, and room really comfortable

Review 45:Private balcony overlooking the town square

Review 46:Fantastic location

Review 47:Wifi

Review 48:Awesome place to stay in the center of soller. The team was very friendly and helpful.

Review 49:The hotel had no information about the area. Breakfast a bit " poor".

Review 50:The building, the helpful and fantastic staff, the location,

Review 51:No internet access.

Review 52:Staff were lovely.

Review 53:Poor wifi and room smelled

Review 54:Location, garden, food

Review 55:Room overlooking the main square with balcony

Review 57:buulding with a history in a very center of town.

Review 58:Wifi signal poor

Review 59:Friendly helpful staff. Lovely view from room. Great lication

Review 61:No lift , no proper bar area

Review 62:Location

Review 63:Hotel, staff and location were all superb!

Review 64:We couldn't fault it, we had all we were looking for in a hotel.

Review 65:The location, being in the central square of the town, was very handy!

Review 66:The steep stairs

Review 67:Food, location and traditional design

Review 68:A bit more like a restuarant with rooms

Review 69:Location Staff Style

Review 70:Great location in village though front rooms would be noisy. Great & generous breakfast. Nice staff.

Review 71:Wi-fi was sporadic. No apologies from staff.

Review 72:Great breakfast.Great location.

Review 73:No complaints.

Review 74:Marvellous location. Excellent breakfast. Very obliging staff.

Review 75:outdated bathroom.

Review 76:best located in Soller old town, breakfast with fresh orange juice.

Review 77:Excellent breakfast

Review 78:A fantastic place situated right in the middle of Soller. Nice staff, nice rooms and they also have a very good restaurant at the hotel. A place to love!

Review 79:Fantastic central location. We used it as our base for walking but Soller also provides easy links to other parts of the island. We didn't have access to a car but used public transport. All the staff at the hotel were welcoming and friendly, which added to our great holiday. The breakfasts were tasty and more than sufficient and whilst we only ate once at the hotel in the evening the meal was superb and service excellent. All in all we had a fabulous holiday to which Hotel La Vila must take some of the credit for

Review 80:Although it did not bother me the Wi fi was erratic. Also during the festival in early May, a room on the front would be very noisy.(rooms on the back are OK)

Review 81:Lovely old house and sympathetically adapted to a hotel. Located right in the picturesque and bustling square, but also has a lovely quiet garden behind. Rooms spacious and beds comfortable. Showers excellent, and food good.We loved it, but if you are disabled, with children, or need a lounge and swimming pool etc. this will not be right for you.

Review 82:no or weak WIFI when the Booking receipt promised it. Expensive vs. the other accomodation we stayed in in Mallorca Poor knowledge of the hiking trails

Review 83:Helpful staff with great English Brilliant location A good breakfast selection

Review 84:A beautifully restored art deco building in the centre of Soller. Very welcoming small hotel with an excellent restaurant. My wife and I stayed three nights and highly recommend the hotel.

Review 85:The hotel is in a great location, excellent and sumptuous breakfast with, our room was adequate, parking spaces are tight so hire a small car, nice outside terrace right smack in the middle of the square, good tapas restaurant close by; the staff is very friendly and helpful, simply excellent service!

Review 86:We had an ungracious reception by staff and a muddle about parking that had been requested. Hot water stopped mid shower. No drinking water in rooms even though tap water tasted like salt. Begrudging breakfast offerings ("Choose two from a list") and bare table setting made one feel like an intruder as did having no common room for guests or any access to a computer. All in all as unpleasant a hotel experience as I have ever had: we felt trapped.

Review 87:The restaurant next door, Cafe Soller, was excellent.

Review 88:Low water pressure in the shower and very small safe

Review 89:The staff, the atmosphere, the restaurant, the view from the window, the fact that we were given keys to the main door so could leave and return any time we wanted.

Review 90:Hotel is lovely, and right in the main square of Soller. About 10 minutes walk from bus stop that will take you just about anywhere on the island. Two minutes walk from tramway (Ferrocarril). Wait staff and owner are very friendly and helpful.

Review 91:the location was superb and the staff where ever attentive to any request you had especially patricia and silvia!the food was of the highest quality and the breakfast all cooked to order was one of the best i`ve had in over 40 years of visiting spain!! we will be going back! dave and sheelagh

Review 92:nothing to not-like

Review 93:original art nouveau features, location in beautiful town square, attentive service, peaceful secluded garden, quality beds and bedding, good food, bags of character

Review 94:No elevator wifi not working in top floor rooms

Review 95:Small family type hotel Excellent situated on the town central squareHigh class Breakfast and food Staff were nice, skilled and dedicated

Review 96:We had two items off the breakfast menu and both came at the same time , I would have preferred to have had time to eat one course before the other came. Other than that it was fab.

Review 97:Breakfast was great Clean and comfortable Near the square but very quiet Beautiful room decor in the dining room

Review 98:a bit basic

Review 99:location

Review 100:The hum of the airconditioners.

Review 101:Central location, helpful and friendly staff, idiosyncratic decor and great breakfasts.

Review 102:Staff friendly and helpful, very good food, excellent location.

Review 103:Central location Friendly staff Homely atmosphere

Review 104:it did not feel like a hotel it was more like a restaurant/bar with rooms poor choice on breakfast menu .some members of staff curt.
