Reviews for Hotel Couleurs Sud
Review 1:Very small and conjested rooms hallway and lobby.Parking, 1 way street! Toilet exhaust into bed room. No English (Google translate used)
Review 2:Good break fast. Good location and quite, next to train station and nice public park.
Review 3:Stuffy room, not able to open the window because of very close proximity to the kitchen vent below. No air conditioning or a fan in the room.
Review 4:The central location, comfortable bed,
Review 5:The bathroom was a plastic cabin like in budget hotels, which is OK in itself, but it smelled VERY bad, like sewers. It may have been bad luck and a temporary circumstance.
Review 6:Affordable accommodation Close to everything in Charleville Hotel was renovated and is generally well kept
Review 7:I had difficulties connecting to the WiFi. This might well have to do with my own lack of technical insight, but it could also be a problem with the WiFi itself.
Review 8:The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and is located right next to the train station and very near the centre of Charleville. The bed was very comfortable and the view on the park was nice and relaxing.
Review 9:Bit noisy had to keep windows closed, not a problem except it was a particularly hot evening. Shower good but the type that sprays out of the cabinet so floor got soaked, maybe just a question of getting used to it.
Review 10:We chose the Comfort Room for an extra €10 and it was worth it, lovely comfy beds, linen good. Bathroom spotless. Good value breakfast for €7. Car park nearby. Staff friendly and helpful. Thought no electric points but moved desk just a fraction out and they were behind there.
Review 11:WiFi connexion was not simple.
Review 12:We spent one night in Couleur Sud. The ratio quality/price is excellent and the personnel friendly. Also we came with six bikes and could safely store them inside the hotel.
Review 13:The failure to provide tea and coffee making facilities which appears common in France and elsewhere.
Review 14:The room was lovely, and the luxury of a bath was superb. Staff were both polite and friendly
Review 15:Paper thin walls, kept awake by loud conversation next door. These people also smoking hanging out window. Our window was just adjacent so smoke came directly into our room. Could not contact anyone to complain.
Review 16:Basic budget room
Review 17:Breakfast was just adequate, but cheap.
Review 18:We were on motorcycles; parking was good; friendly staff, clean, plenty of hot water, good wifi, lift, ok restaurant in same building, not too far from pedestrian centre.
Review 19:Not a thing!
Review 20:Corner room above city centre and across gardens to central station. Very quiet through the night, and entertaining in the morning as the town came to life.
Review 21:Very bad beds, time to change the mattresses. Bathtub was dirty, and toilets were not flushing properly. The lady at the reception is very nice and gentle, but could be a bit more efficient. Breakfast is overpriced for what it is. A la carte is cheaper... Last point: apparently I was lucky as I had a "real" bathroom; real as opposed to having a plastic cabin sitting in the room, where you can use the toilets and take a shower at the same time like some of my friends had...
Review 22:Location and price. You basically get what you pay for... Though I feel it could be slightly cheaper than what it is, and the breakfast included.
Review 23:Very small bathroom with no extractor fan. Right on a corner of the main road and station entrance, so noisy early in the morning.
Review 24:Easily located. Good breakfast but at an extra cost. Had we been more mobile or arrived earlier, we would have walked a bit and discovered a lovely square which I'm sure would have been quite lively!
Review 25:The bed we had was way to small. I'm just on 6ft and my partner isalso tall. I was forever waking up, as my feet kept kicking the end ofthe bed. Also the pillows in Europe are strange, square and flat. So Ihad to sleep on three pillows just to have it high enough.
Review 26:The hotel was in a good location. Easy walk to the city centre andplaces to eat. Car park is a public park but is right next to thehotel. But I would recommend this hotel, even though my below commentis a bit negative.
Review 27:The parking facilities are limited. Breakfast could do with fresh coffee/ hot drinks instead of drinks from a machine (well, that's me !)
Review 28:The receptionist was very friendly and very helpful. A very nice lady! Sufficient space for kids and ourselves.
Review 29:Only stayed one night before a train trip. Room was small, but clean. Hotel staff were very friendly, but some spoke only a little English. Overnight parking was inexpensive and right down the street. Hertz rental car also right next door.
Review 30:Breakfast was expensive for what was given. Getting hold of extra bedding was difficult. A reluctance to help with this.
Review 31:Nice position of room overlooking a park. Room was large & airy.
Review 32:Resteraunt and bar was closed on Sunday night.
Review 33:Breakfast, lift, parking for Bike right outside, free room upgrade. UK TV channels.
Review 34:Friendly and helpful staff. Good food
Review 35:The owners were really nice and helped us a lot I discover the Cameron highlands ! Nice place to stay !
Review 36:the room could not be heated very effectively, and it was cold!
Review 37:ease of parking; location; facilities were clean; staff friendly.
Review 38:Nothing special but it was a typical standard (read poor) French continental breakfast.
Review 39:Fair for a night
Review 40:You have very great consierge (a guy , 27-30y old)
Review 41:Location and staff
Review 42:We booked this hotel as it stated that it accommodated wheelchair users. However, when we arrived the disabled ramp was blocked by 5 large laundry trolleys and it took the only staff member on duty some considerable time to clear the area to get the ramp down. The hotel lift is the smallest one you will ever see and we only just managed to get the wheelchair into the lift. I would not recommend staying here if you are in a wheelchair!
Review 43:The hotel is in a good location and was clean and we had a very nice evening meal.
Review 44:The mattress in room 10 should have been replaced in the refurb. The shower over the bath lacked a wall bracket for the shower head (not uncommon in France) which made showering awkward.
Review 45:The hotel has obviously had a recent refurb, so it appears very clean & tidy. The location is convenient for the town. Our room (10) was perfectly adequate & the breakfast at €6.00 each is good value for money, with very fresh bread & croissant!
Review 46:no problems
Review 47:second stay here good hotel position by railway station and town .staff good. parking to side of hotel on car park or road.clean rooms and good breakfast bar facilities good
Review 48:The team from the hotel was excellent. It was not a problem to change a room, because my first one was a little bit too small. I was travelling alone, I stayed 2 nights. For my third night it was difficult to find a place to stay because of the festival which took place. They helped me a lot and connected me with another hotel. You have one key for outside and your room. I didn't want to keep the key during the festival (afraid of loosing). The owner was so kind to wait until I came back in the night from the festival. Really great people. The rooms are very clean and convinient. Next stay in Charleville ist for sure this hotel
Review 49:Internet was very poor in the room I mentioned the refurbishment that isin the process of being carried out decoration etc. when this iscompleat the hotel will be fine
Review 50:Hotel next to railway station in the process of a refurbishment. Roomwas at the rear of the hotel and quiet, close to the town train and bussystem. Car parking was on the railway station car park and the hotelgave you a card for a discount
Review 51:The management is not friendly nor helpful. We were woken up by construction in the hotel- they are renovating some rooms- at 8:30a. Very unpleasant. And the hotel manager's attitude was unsympathetic: "Le travail commence a 8:30 (The work starts at 8:30)" was all he would say. We would have moved hotels but they had already charged us for both nights of our stay and they would not give us a refund if we left. The breakfast was very poor- some croissants and yogurt and you had to beg if you wanted a second cup of coffee. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel. There seem to be many other equally nice hotel in Charleville!
Review 52:The location right on the Place de la Gare is very nice and the hotel rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Review 53:the choice for breakfast was limited, but ok.
Review 54:nice newly renovated rooms with great beds and shower. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 55:Limited amount of free parking nearby
Review 56:Easy to find Good value economy rooms available Generous range offered for breakfast buffet
Review 57:very easy to find, right next to train station, room was good sized, clean, hotel is in middle of town, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby..
Review 58:No parking
Review 59:Close to the Ardennes
Review 60:Didn't know about name change, so difficult to find. Little parking nearby. Lift didn't work.
Review 61:Central.
