Reviews for Silken Ordesa
Review 1:The extra paid for a room with a view was not worth it. We looked out at power lines. There was no hot water jug in the room, there seemed to be lots of flys hinging around the windows and they didn't serve champagne at the bar...
Review 2:The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was also very generous.
Review 3:Some of the food was somewhat stodgy.otherwise nothing much.
Review 4:The location for the National Park Ordesa. The breakfast was perfectly reasonable with a wide choice. The WiFi was good even in the bedroom
Review 5:There was a charge to use the sauna, which I think could have been free to guests of the hotel.
Review 6:Excellent hotel, very well placed for the Ordesa National Park. Great staff, good service and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good as was the menu del dia evening meal. We particularly liked sitting by the roaring fire in the evenings. Highly recommended hotel.
Review 7:No bathtub in bathroom (shower only)
Review 8:The room was clean, quite comfortable (I stayed in single room). Reception staff was very helpfull, their main word was "no problem". I would like to stay again in Ordesa Hotel.
Review 9:Our room had poor view to the back of the hotel and the room had a weird smell. Dinner at the hotel was quite bad. The hotel is distant from the village, so going out requires driving.
Review 10:Breakfast was very generous, hotel staff was very nice and helpful, great wifi in the room
Review 11:Excellent location, spacious and very clean rooms, the staff is very nice and courteous, excellent cuisine for breakfast and dinner, easy parking, beautiful view.
Review 12:Not really the hotel's fault but if you want to go hiking in the national park you will have a bit of a trek to the village first where you can pick up the bus to the park. The bus does not stop to pick up passengers near the hotel
Review 13:Nice comfortable hotel in a wonderful valley, good restaurant with value for money set menu that changed daily, pleasant English speaking staff; there is a bar/ cafeteria open till midnight with a sitting area in front of an open fire; the facilities in the room were not overly luxurious but more than adequate and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Torla
Review 14:The food is fair and the wait staff seemed stressed and not too friendly. The pool was cold!
Review 15:Very comfortable room and the pool area was pleasant at the end of the day.
Review 16:It's a 15 min stroll into town - but we didn't walk in because stone kerb blocks make you go ON the road and we didn't fancy that after dark. But that's not the fault of the hotel of course!
Review 17:Excellent location under the ramparts of the canyon - although the orientation of the building means that most of the rooms don't face the 'big view'. Comfortable loft-style room with velux windows and big bed. Shuttle bus to the park stops right outside.
Review 18:we were on foot. this hotel is about 1.3 k outside of Torla. the only disadvantage, but it worked fine. We were in Spain to hike after all.
Review 19:Great place, staff!
Review 20:Room did not smell wonderful and could have been a little cleaner and the bed was only fair.
Review 21:Very friendly staff; great food (had breakfast and several dinners) and good value for price.
Review 22:Elevator old wnd very amall. Breakfast just reasonable.
Review 23:We choose a room with A/C. when we arrived the system was broken. They gave us a better and larger room. Staff was nice .
Review 24:Matrasses in standard rooms are unacceptable. Only superior bedroom beds are satisfactory and live up to a very good standard
Review 25:Service, superior bedroom comfort, location
Review 26:This wouldn't be a 4star in England - no tea coffee making , mini bar empty, we had a terrace room which had weeds growing through the tiles and a view of a hedge ! The staff we efficient but not that friendly always looked a bit stressed , maybe a bit over worked or under staffed ? The info pack in the room had no info really , the main restaurant meals weren't good for the cost but the bar meals were better - pool was nice but a bit tired round the edges, again just needed weeding and tidying would have made a big difference- bed was rock hard but massive
Review 27:Stunning location , the main hotel areas were nice, reception staff friendly
Review 28:A kettle and coffee would be nice. Reception staff were efficient but lacked a little warmth.
Review 29:Amazing situation. Clean facilities. Great pool. Helpful concierge in the evenings. Nice bar with sport on TV. Table tennis table. Lovely balcony in four of the rooms. Great views from the rear rooms. Good parking. Good wifi. Breakfast excellent. Set evening meal also good. Music on Thursday night. Bus stop outside the hotel.
Review 30:WiFi was only available for the first day, but signal was very strong in the lobby. A small problem when there is a magnificent national park nearby
Review 31:I had read the reviews prior to booking, still hotel Ordesa exceeded my expectations. It's well kept both inside and outside, what we like the most are the many sitting areas throughout hotel, where you can just sit, read and chill out from the hike. The food is cheap, €15 including two main courses and dessert, the portion was so large that I had to share one order with my husband. Will definitely stay at this hotel again when we visit the area.
Review 32:Excellent hotel environment with a nice swimming pool. Staffs are very nice and helpful (I left something at the hotel room and they are very kind to send back to me by post, thank you very much!). There is an on-site adviser suggesting hiking route and provide relevant information to customer.
Review 33:The walls in the rooms were very thin and you could easily hear activity and voices from other rooms. The rooms also have no air conditioning, which was a little uncomfortable in July, although you could open the windows to help and, although the windows had no screens, we didn't have any bugs fly in.
Review 34:The Hotel Ordesa had very nice breakfasts and lunches. For the lunches you paid for two courses and a dessert for a fixed fee. For our family of 4, we bought two lunches and shared them. The room was spacious and clean. The property also had a very large, clean pool. The location was fantastic, being a few minutes drive from the National Park. The staff was ok, not terribly friendly but they answered questions willingly, except for a guide at the entrance (Gonzalo?) who was super helpful and knowledgeable about the park and its trails.
Review 35:Beds were very hard, we had room with patio for extra money and was not wort it as was over looking back of the hotel, also room was just next to the stairs and was really noisy when guest were walking up and down all the time having really loud conversations was very annoying.
Review 36:Location, breakfast and staff. Dinner food improved a lot from our last visit and we were happy to see that but was on expensive side compare to restaurants in town. We like the fact that we could use swimming pool this time but only till afternoon after that time there was a lots of kids which made a big difference as was was really hard to swim ;)
Review 37:There were cows walking on the road all night with cow bells. Bring ear plugs! Also the swimming pool is less fancy then it looks in the photos
Review 38:Really great staff, we had a good room with a huge balcony with great views. My girlfriend had a very serieus mountaineering accident during our stay. The staff was really helpful and understanding. I will stay here again. Location is superb, bus stop to Ordesa valley in front of hotel.
Review 39:Paper thin walls. Really disappointed with the "view" from our terrasse. It was not worth the money. Dinner on the hotel was bad. Really bad.
Review 40:Breakfast was great. Staff welcoming and helpfull. Room was fine.
Review 41:Modern and clean rooms. Free wifi. Rich breakfast buffet ! Daily 3 courses dinner menu for 15 euros... 5 minutes drive from Ordesa national park... Recomended !!!
Review 42:The fact we couldn't stay longer.
Review 43:Excellent staff very friendly hotel in a beautiful location. After travelling a lot of miles on a motorbike we were welcomed with a very warm greeting. The room was spotless and the bathroom was outstanding and the toiletries available were outstanding. Most enjoyable and relaxed stay ever had in a hotel.
Review 44:Superb service arrived at 9pm - hadn't even checked in and ushered into restaurant to catch last orders. Very welcoming. Lovely modern room with a Huge private patio/ balcony to enjoy the stunning views. Great food too.
Review 45:very small rooms(not 4 * hotel) paper walls (at least at our room)
Review 46:great location on the way to Ordesa National park nice garden, niewing the mountains
Review 47:some more interesting vegetarian options would be good for international travellers.
Review 48:The Ordesa Canyon is a magnificent place and this classic, well maintained hotel is right at it's doorstep and complements the whole experience.
Review 49:The pool was out of order, which was big disappointment because the temperature was already 20 - 25 degrees and it would have been nice to cool down in pool.
Review 50:Amazing Locations, friendly staff.
Review 51:I was expecting a bigger room for a 4 person booking. No double bed. It would be better to book two double rooms
Review 52:Clean, good breakfast and value for money dinner. It also has a bar which serves tapas and snacks. You can grab a beer and sit in the outside garden enjoying the view. Helpful and friendly staff
Review 53:Great location even if just out of town. If you have a car, no big deal. Even if you don't it's a 1km walk in. Given location, it's good value and a short ride into national park. Hotel also provides packed lunches for long days out walking at reasonable price. Recommend staying here.
Review 54:very noisy, rooms were dusty, beds were squeaky and hard, over priced breakfast and food made without love.
Review 55:The view of and the location towards the National Parc of Ordessa
Review 56:swimming pool not available, had to pay for sauna 20 euros for 1 hour even if resident
Review 57:quietness of the hotel, area it was in, log fire, food and drinks
Review 58:Elevator was a small. Could see where this could be an issue if you traveled during peak season.
Review 59:Beautiful scenery Food in restaurant was excellent, very fresh National Park was easily accessible Perfect time of year to visit due to changing colors of leaves
Review 60:Staff very friendly, room comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast and very good restaurant. Close to Ordesa national park, Bujaruelo valley and to Torla.
Review 61:Not advised of extra vat/Iva before hand. Everywhere else we stayed it was included in price. But still good value.
Review 62:Easy access to walks ,friendliness, good food.general ambience.
Review 63:Hotel pool was lovely but the water was so, so cold. A dip was nice, after that we turned blue!
Review 64:Bus to the National Park stops at the hotel and is cheap and frequent. Cars are not allowed into the park most of the season, so this is brilliant. Hotel is bright and airy, clean and comfortable. Dinner was very good value.
Review 65:nothing
Review 66:The triple room was comfortable for 3 (perants and chaild). the wooden floor, the shower. the staff was helpful. breakfast wae good and varied. and the dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good. Ordesa park is amazing !
Review 67:The stunning setting next to the Ordesa National Park and the pool was lovely. Short easy ten minute walk into centre of Ordesa to nice restaurants etc. Hotel simple but lovely for that.
Review 68:Room wasn't well prepared. No hooks or broken hooks in bathroom. Aircon damaged. Dogs in neighbouring rooms. Hotel and town are a tourist trap. Not the sort of place to stay if you want to get away from it all.
Review 69:The Hotel gave good access to the Ordesa National park. Dining was good with breakfast at a reasonable rate. Staff helpful.
Review 70:Very helpful staff - they explained where to get the bus, the duration of hike, etc. Great food - loved the carrot creme soup, and the profiteroles :)
Review 71:The staff weren't very helpful & the wifi was temperamental (however this is quite insignificant)
Review 72:Excellent room, beautiful view/scenery, very clean.
Review 73:Friendly staff, well run, pleasant, comfortable hotel. Not showy. Garden with view of mountains. Swimming pool (cold water!). Good value tasty food in restaurant and bar. Lots of fruit at breakfast.
Review 74:The decor was a bit dated
Review 75:We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is comfortable, clean with very friendly staff. We could arrange a hiking trip from the hotel. The food was good especially the breakfast. We thought that the hotel was good value.
Review 76:Need transport to get into Torla.
Review 77:Probably the best location to see and gain access to the Ordesa valley. Friendly and helpful staff. Good advice over available walking. Bus pick-up for the valley outside the hotel (providing you are early enough and it is not full). Good size meals.
Review 78:The walls were paper thin and you could hear crying children next door and every time someone closed a door.
Review 79:The room was nice and spacious. The food was excellent. The facilities were nice. The staff was very helpful. It was nice to have choices of pillows.
Review 80:The location - a bit outside the town - isn't a problem but requires some planning. During the summer you can't drive into the park but must take a bus from the visitors center. The bus will drop you off at the hotel on the return trip from the park but will only pick you up on the way there if it has space. Fine for the very early buses (earliest 6:00) but not so good at mid morning when the crowds arrive.
Review 81:The main attraction of this hotel is the location adjacent to Ordessa national park where the hiking rivals the best in the world. The hotel itself is very nice - the family rooms on two levels with two bathrooms are ideal for a family with older children. The restaurant is very good and not over priced.
Review 82:Thin walls mean you can hear people and noises in adjacent rooms
Review 83:Location and breakfast
Review 84:The food in the restaurant was amazing! The staff was very helpful! The location was exactly was I was looking for!
Review 85:a very nice hotel.very nice facilities.
Review 86:On the second floor we could hear the people in the room next door
Review 87:The stuff were very helpful . Breakfast had great big selection. Comfortable beds
Review 88:Lights went off in parts of the room unpredictably. Motion sensor lights in the hallways were too slow to come on.
Review 89:Perfect location for walking in the mountains. The guide gave fantastic recommendations.
Review 90:The amazing helpful receptionist on our arrival, he deserves a medal for his work effort. Nothing was too much trouble
Review 91:The location, the room, the breakfast, the staff.
