Reviews for Le Moulin de Sonaille

Review 1:The room was a bit small but still cozy.

Review 2:Beautifully decorated room with private garden patio. A gracious host who made us breakfast to go, as we had an early departure to the airport. She also recommended a small local restaurant with fabulous food, for our last night in Provence.

Review 3:No shower except inside a retro-looking bath-tub. Looks like a gimmick, difficult to climb in for people older than 45.. Difficult to avoid splashing around since curtain is difficult to fit

Review 4:The lady-host was charming in her attitude and attention Superb full and rich breakfast Very clean and neat suite Felt sorry we stay for only one night

Review 5:One of the rooms, was a bit small, not offering enough storage space for the ones that travel for more days and have more bags.

Review 6:The entire property is lovely, starting with the Provence oriented design and finishing with the numerous spectacular spaces available for relaxation. The rooms transport you in vintage Provence, having plenty of tasteful decoration items, private entrances and a beautiful pool. The breakfast was also great, something different daily additional to the traditional croissants, pain au chocolat, local marmelades etc.

Review 7:The friendliness of The hostess was outstanding. Every detail of the room was cared for and the breakfast was 5 star. We stayed for two days and it was a very nice experience.

Review 8:The pillows on the bed were a little hard and more like cushions. lighting was a little dark and there was no wardrobe to hang clothes.

Review 9:Loved the decor as it was very shabby chic and all done by the beautiful owner.Sylvainne was more than helpful giving us a beer when we arrived and making us feel at home. vey good at speaking English. we had three days with the charming host and had breakfast in two different areas of her home.Would love to have been there in the summer.Beautiful gardens and old charming house .The little cocker spanial was so cute I wanted to take her home with me.the lady of the house gave us local sweets as a gift when we left.

Review 10:Couldn't stay longer!

Review 11:A tranquil respite mid way between Aix & Marseille.Delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds & pool. The rooms are comfortable & lovingly decorated.Wonderful host Sylvaine, whose help to plan our outings was invaluable.

Review 12:Nothing - it was perfect

Review 13:First of all - thanks a lot our host Sylvaine for nice atmosphere for the guests. She is excellent owner. We had a relaxing stay in this wonderful place with a cozy and warm atmosphere. Lovely place in the Provence countryside with a very personal touch from Sylvaine. She was very welcoming and really surprised us with breakfast in the morning (every morning in a different place!). The house is immersed in the green, with a nice huge garden. We definitely would stay here again and recommend Le Moulin de Sonaille to others.

Review 14:The owner was very friendly, she offered us welcome drink, very peaceful with very big garden (landpark). Breakfast was very good, she made us homemade food.

Review 15:Excellent location to visit Aix and Marseille. The house and hostess are really lovely. A great place to stay with kids as they have a huge yard to play in as well as a great pool. Very relaxing.

Review 16:Lovely place in the French countryside with a very personal touch from Sylvaine. She was very welcoming and really spoilt us with breakfast in the morning. Gave us recommendations on where to eat in town. Kids loved the pool. Only wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 17:The bathtub was old and very small. His knees were under his chin. It is tricky for an older person to get into and out of the tub. The trade off was charm over space and convenience. For people traveling with several large bags, there was not space to put things away.

Review 18:The location is tranquil and pleasant. It is an easy drive into Aix. However, it is isolated: one doesn't walk to anything nearby. The breakfasts are lovely, served in the garden since the weather was very good when we were there. The host is very helpful. The decor is charming, esp to women. For my husband it was a little too much.

Review 19:Charming rustic style, fantastic hosts, delicious breakfast, independant entrance to room, easy parking.

Review 20:No wifi reception in room, but pleasant by the pool where reception good!

Review 21:Everthing - charming hostess - beautiful breakfast prepared with love.

Review 28:Excellent garden and pool, great boutique room

Review 29:Sylvaine and family were very welcoming, with lots of lovely little touches - like the offer of a glass of wine on arrival!

Review 30:Wi Fi was a problem but this was due to a recent storm.

Review 31:Sylvaine was most helpful and infotmative. The breakfasts were excellent. Environment quiet and location ideal to visit this part of Provence.

Review 32:Sylvaine was such a gracious host, she made us feel so welcome at her beautiful home, and made sure we had everything we needed. Only twenty minutes from Marseille airport, it was in a great location, and I would love to stay here again if we were in the area.

Review 33:My fiance and I stayed here again in February, as we absolutely love this chambre d'hote. The host is lovely, and the little touches that she puts on everything, from the decor of your room, to the towels, to the incredible breakfast spread makes us come again and again. You can't get better value for your money, and it's an easy drive to Aix-en-Provence. I agree with other reviews that you'll need a GPS to find it, but once you do, it's easy to get back to the main highway.

Review 34:Recently renovated and a few minor fixtures did not work.

Review 35:Beautiful room. Nice, rural location. Excellent breakfast with fresh breads, french press coffee and fresh hot french toast and excellent jams etc. Very friendly and accommodating hostess.

Review 36:Wonderful, idyllic place. Each detail is taken care by the dedicated, very elegant french lady, the hostess Sylvaine. Beautiful Provencedecor, every morning incredible breakfast in different locations /tables through the place. Each time, different houseware, table decor, different breads ando there Provence récipes. Sylvaine gave us,everyday, suggestions for great daily journeys through Provence.Wonderful place!

Review 37:Was hard to locate the place, but we managed and enjoyed everything.

Review 38:A true French lady, hostess Sylvaine and her husband are very friendlyand welcoming. The room for three had a bathroom and toillet literallyin the same open space as beds, just with a curtain (a bit weird). However the beds were comfortable, it was warm and nice with provancaldecoration. Every morning apart from jams and bakery Sylvaine offered ushot breakfast dishes - pancakes anв sugar toasts the other day. Andfruits from their garden - sweet cherrys and strawberry. When we wereleaving she presented us lavande from her garden. That was very nice ofher! I would recommend this place for all types of travellers.p.s. the location is good - just 10 mins from Aix-en-Provence.

Review 39:Little hard to locate the first drive from the airport make sure you have GPS.
