Reviews for Hotel Ca'l Bisbe

Review 1:We really felt it was the end of the touristic season: *The pool was not really cleaned *The restaurant was closed Some of the staff were not really helpful, gave us the impression we bothered even if we asked for some drinks from the bar.

Review 2:Nice breakfast, beautiful hotel.

Review 3:We were lucky that the weather was cool because the air conditioner functioned poorly. We slept with an open window and braved the mosquitoes. On one day we walked from 8.30 am to 3.30pm but found our room had not been cleaned while we were out.

Review 4:The breakfasts are fabulous, a huge variety of local meats, cheeses, fruit and homemade pastries. The bar staff and receptionist were helpful and friendly.

Review 5:There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room you had to pay for these if these had been available i would have given a 10

Review 6:Hotel lovely and relaxing spacious rooms great balcony 2 mins walk to gorgeous soller centre. Great breakfast and a hiking room with maps etc to discover the amazing walks on your doorstep

Review 7:A delightful newly renovated small hotel with pool, only 5 mins. Walk from the centre of Soller and restaurants. Wonderful breakfast. Would definitely return.

Review 8:We dined in the hotel on one occasion and had the tasting menu - thought it was overpriced for what it was. However several excellent restaurants in town.

Review 9:Close to town centre. Our room, on the top floor was spacious with mountain views from the balcony.

Review 10:The pool wasn't heated during our September stay

Review 11:Totally relaxed atmosphere, and no kids either ! Attentive, welcoming staff Lovely big room with balcony overlooking the pool

Review 12:Parking was not at the hotel. Do not drive down the road the hotel is located on.. One of the signs pointing towards the hotel from the main road directs you illegally down a restricted access road. The parking is just after the roundabout look out for the lemon trees. Apparently rooms next to the road are very noisy however the top floor we stayed on was good.

Review 13:A wonderful escape for couples. The room was an excellent size away from the road with a beautiful mountain view. Staff very polite and helpful and always smiling. The food was excellent quality and the evening meal was well presented. We love fish and it was on the menu every day, the Sunday evening BBQ was super. A great location for access to the village.

Review 14:the bed matresses are extremeley hard and for the older traveler this does not allow for a good nights sleep

Review 15:this is an excelant hotel, the evening meal in the resrtaurant rates with any top london restaurant.Location , 500m from the town centre , yet so quiet and peacefull

Review 16:Extremely clean and rooms were spacious. Breakfast had a great choice. Staff even allowed us to store our cases after checkout until our next accommodation was ready - we certainly found them helpful.

Review 17:Was disappointed with the evening meal. I had chicken, it was really quite bland. Overall the meal was not good value for money.

Review 18:Very quiet, good location.

Review 19:Pool wasnt cleaned. Breakfast was poor and repetitive Hotel staff were complacent and didnt smile Hotel staff children in the pool disrupting clients We had a view of a back garden and not the pool

Review 20:The quiet location

Review 21:The receptionist, when checking in wasn't particularly friendly at all. The room was small and nowhere near as modern or luxurious as the public areas. Very difficult access by car - and the car park is quite a long walk from the hotel - and very tricky to get to. All in all an average experience.

Review 22:The public areas of the hotel are beautiful and the pool is lovely.

Review 23:No atmosphere in the evenings - too quiet and no one spoke to each other so we didn't have dinner at the hotel. No kettle in the rooms so you couldn't have tea/coffee in your room. You had to go down and were charged for a cup of tea or you could, "buy your own tea bags/coffee and milk and they would provide the hot water." One stuck up, very rude man with dark hair that was slightly greying was not very helpful - he seemed to look down on us when we asked for some ice in glasses as we had brought our own bottles of water to drink around the pool. Not much on the afternoon menu.

Review 24:Big, bright, open rooms with decent bathroom. Close distance to the main square where you can eat/drink and catch the tram into the port. Mostly friendly staff. Pool was lovely.

Review 25:Small point but was frustrating how sensitive the balcony doors were to the air conditioning. Everytime the doors were opened the air conditioning shut off. Especially frustrating at night when I wanted to sleep with air conditioning and my partner wanted to star gaze outside. Also thought the decor in the rooms could have been more in line with the chic yet rustic reception, pool area.

Review 26:Amazing views of Soller from a very lovely balcony, very relaxing and like the fact its not bang in the centre of town.

Review 27:The only disadvantage is the off site parking- but to be expected given the compact built nature of Soller town centre.

Review 28:Loved the central but quiet location. The hotel had a pool which was great for families and couples. The staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and varied which set us up for the day. Overall, it was a real find and I would love to go back only this time I would have a balcony room.

Review 29:Noise from room above late into the night, not helped by tiled flooring. No facility for tea or coffee in room.

Review 30:Good location, clean with good service and food.

Review 31:One member of staff could have been a bit cheerier, but apart from that they were all lovely. Note that parking is not by the hotel itself, and is about 250m away near the bus station - don't try and follow the road down from the hotel looking for it like we did as it only gets narrower!

Review 32:We had a fantastic stay at C'al Bisbe - the hotel is beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and we ended up spending far more time around the pool than we had planned as it was just such a picturesque, relaxing place to be. We had a lovely attic room with high ceilings and fab views out over the valley. We had a couple of delicious dinners at the hotel restaurant - recommend their Sunday BBQ, all you can eat for 20 euros a head. Great location in Soller, just a few mins walk into the central square, with a supermarket just around the corner. We'd love to go back.

Review 33:Only reason i didnt give location 100% was inconvenience of car park being a fair walk away from the hotel - at times this became problematic, particularly in sweltering temperatures! My only other grouse was the noise that carried from the pool to bedrooms - given the size of the hotel and location of pool it probably couldnt be helped, but sound did carry and there was no privacy when sitting on the balcony. This was a minor point however.

Review 34:Superb location for Soller town, pleasant helpful staff. Towelling robes and slippers in room, nice relaxed feel to the place, child-friendly of course, superb breakfast with fresh ingredients and good selection. Hotel was a little gem in a busy bustling town.

Review 35:We were greeted by a very unfriendly receptionist but she improved later in the week. One day our room wasn't cleaned until nearly 4.00pm and another day we were left with no toilet paper and had to ask. Car park a long way from the hotel.

Review 36:Rooms comfortable and nice views from the top floor. Easy walk into the town centre. Generally friendly staff. We had half board and the food was good and they were happy to make changes if you were vegetarian or didn't like what was offered.

Review 37:We were there for 8 days - breakfast was repetitive / limited hot choices.

Review 38:Excellent location. Beautiful communal areas. Suite was a good size but bathroom not really consistent (size & fittings).

Review 39:Girl at reception very grumpy and moody with us. On our third day one of our party talked to her about her poor attitude. It dramatically proved! However was very awkward! It was a lovely hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.

Review 40:The milk served at breakfast has a very strange flavour. I ask for fresh lemon and have this with the wonderful selection of loose teas available, although this dies not suit my husband or daughter.

Review 41:It is very peaceful and refined. People with young babies and children were very mindful of others. It is in a beautiful setting, wonderful to sit, read, enjoy the scenery with a glass of Pimms.

Review 42:Air con in rooms almost non existence and it was 38 degrees Cleaners did a very poor job of room cleaning - not clearing away rubbish Mini bar consistently had 1 small bottle of water for a 2 person room - badly stocked Uncomfortable bed Poor amenities in the room

Review 43:Friendly staff - especially in restaurant area Excellent location Amazing pool area Great lunches Effective WIFI

Review 44:Thus is a charming small hotel well located with nice pool and good facilities. The breakfasts are excellent and quality of the food is superb. I travelled with my young daughter and we received a warm welcome. Highly recommend.

Review 45:A luxurious hotel offering exceptional value for money. The staff catered effortlessly for everyone - children to couples on honeymoon. The range of food at breakfast was amazing and the rooms were totally fabulous with great attention to detail. We travel a lot, but this hotel and staff blew us away! We will be back soon I hope.

Review 46:Rooms are a little dated/ need redecorating. Receptionist (young girl) was quite rude and surly. Didn't like having to make drinks at the bar (despite this being her job). Overall good.

Review 47:Great pool area and terrace for breakfast and drinks. Well stocked bar. Breakfast good with lots of choice. Breakfast waitress very good. Nice balconies. Pool towel supplied. Great location- 3 minute walk to centre of town & tram. Parking a few minutes walk away. Lovely setting.

Review 48:There is a total lack of privacy at this hotel, when in your room with balcony door open you can be seen by all the people around the pool, also every word spoken by poolsiders can be heard in the bedroom. No dividers between balconies, you are obligied either to stay in room or engage with people on the balcony next door.

Review 49:The pool area was good, with plenty to loungers.

Review 50:Service was disappointing. No warm welcome or talk through of the facilities, no obvious managerial presence throughout our stay. No complaints about the hotel but it could do with a friendlier service which you expect of this kind of hotel.

Review 51:Second visit to this lovely hotel. I love the peace and quiet and the pretty pool area.

Review 52:Having to leave

Review 53:Smaller hotel but has the full ambiance of Soller ,relaxed and generally quite . Felt we were well looked after without a fuss lovely breakfast. Pool area and restaurant very relaxing . 10 minutes from station and bus.

Review 54:meal portions a little small for men - some optional accompaniments might have helped (vegetables/ salad)

Review 55:nice room, pool, sitting area, location, evening suppers, friendly staff - until they were short, when they were overstretched.

Review 56:It would help if there were additional staff on duty at 7.30pm for an hour or so - Guests wanting a pre-dinner drink could wait a while due to the staff laying tables in readiness for dinner. Not a huge problem and easily rectified.

Review 57:This really is a hidden gem! Total perfection, tranquil and calm. Loved the quietness, breakfast and amazing gin & tonics!

Review 58:We were surprised that we were not offered the 5 course tasting menu, but only a 2, or 3 course menu. We got confused when others around us-who arrived after us, were offered this. We asked the waiter about this and were told that this tasting menu was for outsiders, the simpler menu for hotel guests. I believe this is nonsense and not acceptable. We booked this hotel mainly because of the good reviews about the food and though we really enjoyed our menu, I felt very annoyed to not be given the choice, to be treated differently than 4 tables around us. As a 160 euros-a -night paying guest, I'd expect to be treated the same as 'outsiders'.

Review 59:Location, room, pool, quality of food.

Review 60:Lack of a trouser press !!

Review 61:Staff were very professional courteous helpful and friendly. The overall ambience was restful, peaceful and there was a tranquility that seemed at odds with it's closeness to the centre of town. This place really recharged the batteries of a busy and sometimes weary traveller.

Review 62:Some features in the room (e.g. lights, handles) were broken. We had to ask repeatedly to get the room made up, towels changed and broken lightbulbs replaced – sometimes this took days. This was the only bad aspect of the hotel, but it did spoil an otherwise perfect stay.

Review 63:Lovely location, stunning views, excellent food, delightful and very helpful staff, a beautiful poolside garden for relaxing, and lots of peace and quiet – perfect!

Review 64:We found bed very firm, with staff any information you wanted you had to ask for nothing was given voulantary.

Review 65:Nice scenery good breakfast with a good pool area, fairly quiet even though only 5 minute walk to main square.Very spacious room with lovely views from balcony.Would recommend a couple of local restaurants both off of the main square Casa Álvaro and Cafe Scholl both excellent.

Review 66:Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by not having a balcony room as booked and the dreadful way that was handled upon arrival.

Review 67:Really good hotel and location.

Review 68:We ate in the hotel one evening and it was disappointing, wouldn't recommend it.

Review 69:Beautiful pool, relaxed and quiet around the pool. Enjoyed the breakfast.

Review 70:Air conditioning noisy. Lots of ants.

Review 71:Very attractive and comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfasts. Very helpful and friendly staff. Pool area and gardens very pretty.

Review 72:Loved everything about it - will definitely return

Review 73:Everything was fantastic - beautiful peaceful oasis in Soller. Pool area clean and relaxing. Breakfast had a good range to choose from whatever your tastes. Room spacious and clean and the air com was so quiet it did not keep you awake. Restaurant cooked a Vegetarian menu for us and it was delicious .

Review 74:We stayed 5 nights and although the bed was made each day the bathroom was not cleaned/tidied during our stay. I can only assume they didn't have enough staff to do the job properly. The all-in-one shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/liquid soap was fixed to the wall so it was OK if you were having a shower but you had to keep standing up in the bath if you wanted more soap which was a bit inconvenient. We asked for bath robes and got bath towels but not a problem. Also very often reception was unmanned and if you are leaving the hotel before 9.00am you have to check out the previous night, before 9.00pm.

Review 75:Super location as very convenient for town centre. Soller itself has some great restaurants and good public transport links. Room was a good size and bed very comfortable. The breakfasts on the terrace by the pool were very good - always fresh orange juice, excellent smoked salmon, yogurts, cereals, hot eggs, breads, pastries and home made cake. Nice pool and always beds available.

Review 76:The hotel has a lovely comfortable relaxed, intimate feel and was spotlessly clean. The location in relation to the centre of Soller was perfect. A lovely pool, a lovely terrace overlooking the pool made for a wonderful stay.

Review 77:My husband complained about the bed being too hard but I slept ok!

Review 78:We loved this hotel!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, quite relaxed but in a good way. The food was excellent whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very clean. We have stayed in many 5-star hotels but nowhere else felt as welcoming as here (4 stars). We would highly recommend it and will definitely go back!

Review 79:Poor information provided at check in but could be found in room booklet.

Review 80:Close to Soller centre, tram stops and Soller - Palma train. Comfortable bedroom and nice pool area.

Review 81:The pool didn't seem to be cleaned very often - often lots of debris including hair :-/

Review 82:Pretty pool area Restaurant booked for an evening meal fantastic and good value All staff were friendly and helpful Good location

Review 83:We have been going there for years eventhough we own a property in Soller. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is almost as comfortable as being in your own home.

Review 84:They could have changed our towels at least every other day.

Review 85:The friendly and calm environment was an astounding experience! Very nice and helpful staff, clean and neat. Highly recommend this hotel!!!

Review 86:Tasting menu did not vary for our stay (only 3 days) which meant we did not try the evening meal as the choices did not appeal. We were not impressed with the lunch/snack menu which seemed to be pre bought frozen pizza etc.

Review 87:Gorgeous suite, lovely secluded swimming pool, very quiet. Great breakfast. Reasonably priced drinks. Excellent service, very friendly casual atmosphere. Perfect location.

Review 88:Nothing much . I suppose I did think that having booked for 10 nights we might have been allocated a top floor room for view,

Review 89:We liked the location , the swimming pool , the low key approach , the facade of the hotel & the free parking. Staff responded I promptly to emails before travel re location of hotel & car park.

Review 90:Car park was certainly more than 200m away. It was a 10 min walk! Restaurant served lovely food, although we did find the portions abit small, and where were the vegetables!

Review 91:In a great location, just a couple of minutes walk to centre of Soller. Lovely pool area with great views of the mountains. Very good restaurant on site.

Review 92:For our second stay we choose a slightly larger room which worked well for us. Pool area is really good and the hotel is well positioned for a stroll into town.Only dissapointing aspect is no on sight car park.

Review 93:Unloading facilities outside the hotel for cases etc. were very restricted. Narrow road system in one direction away from the hotel should be avoided at all costs. A warning to reverse out would be appropriate.

Review 94:We had a very comfortable room with good views. The facilities were first class being the dining area, bar, reception and pool. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was close to the main square.

Review 95:We could hear noise from all the surrounding rooms, even room above us seemed amplified. However, if we were to visit again we would just ask to stay on top floor

Review 96:Ca'l Bisbe has such a charm about it, you fall in love as soon as you walk in. Beautiful hotel. Lovely spacious rooms. The pool area and surrounding gardens are a perfect oasis. 360 views of the surrounding mountains. Perfect location.

Review 97:The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Soller. The hotel is very charming and the pool area is surrounded with lovely trees and bushes. The breakfast area is really pleasant and there was a good choice of food. The fresh orange juice was especially delicious.Great stay.

Review 98:The pool and terrace is gorgeous but the pool isn't heated and does take your breath away, however it was very refreshing on a boiling hot day!

Review 99:We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Hotel C'al Bisbe, the location was perfect, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and the pretty town of Soller within a 5 minute stroll away. The hotel building is a magnificent old building beautifully restored and tastefully decorated and all staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant or outside on the idyllic poolside terrace and there is a good selection of local produce on offer - a fantastic start to the day. We found Soller had everything we wanted in a perfect holiday: sunshine, culture, amazing food and drink, beautiful beaches and harbour a short tram ride away. This holiday felt more like a honeymoon and we would definitely return without hesitation.

Review 100:Everything! No problems and no complaints. Loved the interesting walk to the car park which was in perfect location.

Review 101:Lovely staff, great location, stylish environment.

Review 102:Car access. Breakfast could have been better. Swimming pool unheated.

Review 103:Quiet and refined.

Review 104:Not a massive variety for breakfast

Review 105:Great location

Review 106:Comfortable room and very well situated for centre of Soller.

Review 107:Cut corners with breakfast...no fresh orange juice etc

Review 108:a bit unpersonal, breakfast good but had to ask for a lot of things to be refilled (not enough staff around)

Review 109:nice rooms, good location, nice pool

Review 110:Beautiful hotel. V friendly and helpful staff. Great location and fab breakfast.

Review 111:Beautiful building,large comfortable room,good value,good location

Review 112:Friendly staff nice room good breakfast good value

Review 113:Car parking a problem - not suitable for bigger cars as streets very narrow.

Review 114:Peaceful hotel in a lovely setting.

Review 115:Staff very friendly. So peaceful and relaxing.

Review 116:Great location easy access to everything in the town - about 25min walk down to port too which is great
