Posada Real La Carteria

Posada Real La Carteria descritpion
This establishment is in the historic-artistic center of the town, in a building dating from the 18th century.
The building combines modern pieces and amenities, combined with the 100 year old wooden beams and original solid stone walls of this property. The rooms have been decorated in good taste combining modern and traditional styles, while always maintaining the maximum comfort and quality.
You can enjoy the traditional local cuisine in the restaurant that is located in a medieval winery.
There is also a Turkish bath, gym and sauna. Lago de Sanabria National Park offers various interesting trekking routes. Well worth the visit is the historic quarter of Puebla de Sanabria.

Reviews for Posada Real La Carteria
Review 1:The location, decor and ambience of the place was just wonderful. The rooms were large and the bed very comfortable. Facilities were immaculate and the hotel was modern, whilst keeping with the period theme of the building.
Review 2:Noise from the bar directly under the room until after 1am. Basket of fruit was a nice touch but mostly inedible, either under or over ripe.
Review 3:Central location in beautifully preserved medieval village. Superbly renovated and decorated house.
Review 4:The service in the restaurant was an absolute disaster. We had a waitress with light brown hair who was so unfriendly and unprofessional that it was hard to believe!
Review 5:Excellent location, cosy rooms, good facilities, tasty food
Review 6:Well, the hotel is very difficult to find using a tom tom or garmin system. Parking is not on site and the hotel has no dining facilities for breakfast you have to go to another building - which was closed when we went to get breakfast ! The hotel albeit nice is very small - mor of a very high class B&B
Review 7:A good location close to the town centre. A very rustic looking building that has been well converted into a boutique type accommodation.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:The location in the lovely medieval village, the decor of the rooms, and we had a very lovely meal there although we were the only ones in the restaurant as it was middle of winter.
Review 10:There was no air-conditioning, and it was August (34 degrees). The room was absolutely boiling, and we couldn't open the windows because the mosquitos would have got in. We did notice a large radiator for the winter. Although the hotel was excellent in every other way I would not go back in summer unless thy installed air-con. We paid €120 per night.
Review 11:The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious, and very nicely decorated. The location is perfect.
Review 12:I thought I had booked the suite with a spa, but we ended up with a bedroom with a bath tub. Breakfast very disappointing. Although the facilities are nice, it is over priced for what and where it is!
Review 13:Very nice and spacious bedroom with lovely views.
Review 14:Posada Real de la Carteria is in the old part of the city, half a block from the church and castle. The manager is super helpful, breakfast is up the street, with an incredible view. We've stayed in 4 different hotels in Northern Spain on this trip and Posada stands far above the others.
Review 15:nothing!!! everything was great!!!!
Review 16:everything was excellent!!! it was dreamy!!! couldnt find enough words to describe our beautifull stay there! the view from hotel and the suite was absolutely wonderfull. location was perfect. the staff was kind and super usefull. breakfest was divine!!! hotel clean and impecable! cant wait to come back again!
Review 17:It was a little difficult to locate in a maze of streets and is on a very steep hill but this did not cause us any issues.
Review 18:The Hotel is an absolute delight and the room was very well thought through. The Hotel is quite small and the staff are multi tasking most of the time as it has a popular bar and small restaurant as well. However the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Parking was off site but we exoerienced no problems with that.
Review 19:This is a lovely building in a central location in this wonderful historic village. All of the staff were extremely friendly chatting to us in their limited English and our limited Spanish. It's an old building but the room was bright, spacious and very clean. The bar/restaurant serves rustic home cooked food and the breakfast was fine and the wifi worked in the public areas. The hotel is good value. This a very small, quiet village (we were there in March) but is lovely to wander around (check out the old bull ring and castle) and visit the surrounding areas for walks. We were able to park in the main square 20m away but this might be more difficult in summer.
Review 20:A couple of things: * We had been excited about the prospect of having access to a gym and sauna, however we arrived to find that they were under renovation * The bathroom was quite large and had a large comfortable tub/jacuzzi -- however, the ambience of the bathroom was detracted from by the harsh flourescent lighting. The lighting in the rest of the room was fine -- only the bathroom was disappointing.
Review 21:The staff was very friendly and helpful -- even bringing meals from the restaurant to our room (they don't have room service) as our infant was a bit fussy. The rooms are quite spacious and nice, and the view from our enclosed porch was lovely. Also, the food at the hotel restaurant itself was excellent, as was the food at the accompanying restaurant just up the street (Posada de las Misas).
Review 22:Wifi was not good at all in the room
Review 23:The room was amazing with a great terrace and all the team.
Review 24:The staff should be warmer wellcoming and smiling (a part of the girl of the reception in the morning)
Review 25:The city and the location of the posada
