Reviews for Hôtel Calme Des Pins SPA
Review 1:We - cycling the Vélodyssee - felt very welcome! My bicycle had a 'rayon cassé', des roues érodés totalement and the 'guidon de bicyclette' was making a very scary sound. So I needed a shop to repare my bicycle. They did everything they could to help me to get my bicycle repared in order to be able to continue my bicycle trip to Roscoff in Bretagne! They - Laure and Damien - are very nice and helpfull people! Great hospitality as well!! Good breakfast too!! Free parking, free Wifi, free garage for our bicyclettes. Beach around the corner!! And good beds and quiet, clean room & bathroom! Good location! We had a marvellous stay there!
Review 2:We had booked a room for three people and the room we were put in was actually a room for four. The second double bed was stowed well against the wall but when it was pulled out there was barely room to manoeuvre. We don't spend lots of time in our room on holiday BUT when we do...we like to relax...possibly lie on the bed...read and doze as we take it in turns to shower before going back out for evening meal. It,s good to have space to just unwind and we found that we were very cramped in the space we had..
Review 3:The location was ideal for us.
Review 4:We arrived about 10.30 pm and there was no signage directing us to our room. (48)Surprising that a hotel of this size does not have a night porter.
Review 5:Safe parking in the road. Within walking distance of the beach and good restaurants.
Review 6:The reception and owner were very helpful over a confusion over the room booked. Resolved quickly and efficiently. We were able to park outside the hotel, free, and whilst we did not have breakfast the dining room looked very swish. It was about 150 metres to the beach, past a Carrefour and 500 metres from the zoo and lake. Situated in the west it was a bit of a walk to the restaurant area on the promenade but we found a lovely creperie some 200 metres away. We would visit again. The staff spoke English pretty well , we paid the same through Booking.com as we would had we telephoned direct and would have been able to refine our booking.
Review 7:There was some confusion with the room we had booked but the hotel sorted it our with the minimum of fuss and we couldn't fault their attention to rectifying the situation.
Review 8:The hotel was good, but a fair walk to the main location for restaurants and the port, although perfectly situated for the beach. The seafront walk was lovely and didn't detract from the distance to the restaurants.
Review 9:Spa avec jacuzzi au programmes limités. Fermeture du jardin en fin d'aprés-midi.
Review 10:légèrement excentré, à proximité de la plage et des principales activités. Frigo et réfrigérateur disponibles. Localisation très calme.
Review 11:Our room in the annexe meant that we didn't have direct access to the hotel. Very basic small room - more like a B&B than a 3star hotel Odd smell in annexe Had to step over dirty bedware in the hall when going to breakfast - room cleaning underway and dirty bedware left in a pile on the hallway floor.
Review 12:Good breakfast
Review 13:Felt a bit watched by eager owner/manager during breakfast, but maybe that's just me?
Review 14:Really liked the location and décor of rooms was good quality. Great for a 3 star. Nice food at breakfast - half-price for younger guests but I had to ask! Staff were very friendly.
Review 15:Great location, only minutes from the sea front yet quiet.
Review 16:great location friendly reception
Review 17:Hotel in good quiet area.
Review 18:Room small
Review 19:Location
Review 20:Room smelt a little bit smoky despite it being no smoking
Review 21:Very comfortable bed and nice balcony.
Review 22:Fantastic helpful staff made this an enjoyable stay. There is a secure car park and good facilities for the cyclists. Great breakfast.
Review 23:Too far from beach
Review 24:Nice balcony
Review 25:Would have been nice if gulls were not nesting above our room! Sleep not easy!
Review 26:Location a bit away from the centre but if you are up for the walk, it is a lovely place to stay
Review 27:Hotel was lovely, warm welcome and comfortable room.
Review 28:We loved the fact that the owners were involved with every aspect of the business. This was done with professionalism and kindness at the same time and with an aim to offer the best service to customers. Definitely the best 3 star we have visited and in many ways much better than we expected. The rooms on our floor were refurbished recently and were very clean and very comfortable. The hotel smelled good in every room, elevator, and corridor more like much more expensive boutique hotels. Safe parking is offered at reasonable extra charge. Great Jacuzzi (Sauna is also available).... both for free!!! You just need to book it and have it all for yourself for 45 minutes There is also a supermarket 3 minutes away on foot, so if you have a family this can be useful (although there is no fridge in the room). And the beach is less than 5 minutes away. You need about 20 minutes sea side walking next to bars and restaurants to get to the centre (it took us 5 minutes by car). You can also rent bikes from the hotel for all family members (even infants can be serviced) adults and children. Would definitely recommend it and go back again.
Review 29:The bathroom was a little outdated and on arrival the owner said we had reserved parking when we hadn't.
Review 30:The room was very modern with a balcony, also there was a kettle for tea and coffee, there was a steam room and Jacuzzi, even though we didn't use it. The beds were very comfortable.
Review 31:First room offered was small and depressing. They changed it readily when asked but that would not have been possible if they had been busier. I probably chose badly- perhaps the site should show that there is a basic room and a reasonably sized one for choice.
Review 32:Responsive and helpful staff.
Review 33:Couldnt open the toilet door fully without hitting the end corner of the bed. Long grey hairs on the bathroom mat on arrival ( cleaned up OK on second night) No chairs on balcony No smoking room didn't stop smoke travelling up from lower balcony - was it a non-smoking hotel? in which case that should have included the total site including the garden.
Review 34:Very friendly and helpful staff. Enclosed car park - not sure why you found it necessary to charge €9 per night?
Review 35:Nothing!
Review 36:The owners were friendly and helpful. Very quiet 10 min bike ride from town centre. Internet access and bike rental. The town has a lot of restaurants and things to do or visit besides going to the beach.
Review 37:Breakfast is rather expensive. We were eating our own food bought at thesupermarket.
Review 38:Everything! Location is very quite, close to the ocean and supermarket. The personnel is very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and thetowels were changed each day. The bicycle rent is possible at the hoteland is very affordable. We would surely come back to this hotel again inthe future.
Review 39:It was pretty warm and there was no AC in the room. But, with the fan, it was OK.
Review 40:The hotel is very calm although it is located next to the beach. The staff are very friendly and breakfast is excellent, with homemade jam ! The rooms may be a bit small but they are very well designed, clean and comfortable. Parking our car in the streets nearby was very easy and safe, even in July... This hotel is good value for money !
Review 41:- Compared to the comfort in the room (bed...etc), the bathroom can be improved.
Review 42:- The staff is very nice and welcoming. - Hotel very close to the sea side - We were on the front and the street is very calm. - We have been upgraded for free for a king size bed :-)
Review 43:no restaurant - although it was advertised. not informed of facilities available - discovered hot tub as we left. out of date info in bedroom - 2 years old magazine.
Review 44:v quiet
Review 45:Nothing really except the walk of 2km to the port area (but this is well advised so not complaint).
Review 46:Receptionist was very welcoming and most helpful. The room/bathroom were basic but scrupulously clean and definitely good value for money. Secure on site car parking.
Review 47:Room and bathroom were small and we felt a little cramped.
Review 48:Very helpful owners and staff. Dog friendly, secure parking, easy to find and well located for the town.
Review 49:Nice building façade, location in quiet street, near the beach (at 3minutes walking) and the Casino and zoo and tennis club (at 8 minuteswalking through nice protected pinede aera with trees).
Review 50:My shower. I am lucky to be slim and supple but even I could not bend over or squat down to wash my lower legs and feet without opening the shower door which could have flooded the very small bathroom area without extreme care. Someone of more ample proportions, or less flexibility, might find the whole bathing area somewhat of a challenge. The WiFi connection generally slow and at peak times positively pedestrian which was annoying if listening to the radio online or downloading major documents. There was a strange odour in the annex, especially on level two, which was evidently known as automatic air freshners were located around the shared areas in generous quantities.
Review 51:Quiet location with good street parking in the local mainly residential area. A fair walk from the town but I welcomed escaping the bustle of Les Sables which on some days becomes overly congested. The lady owner charming and very welcoming. A nice 'feel' to the place. I would happily stay there again if the WiFi problem was addressed and my bathroom more user friendly. Despite my slight reservations I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel as very welcoming and of reasonable value.
Review 52:In season, street parking would be a big problem. We feel the hotelparking fee of 9 euros a night is high.
Review 53:The hotel is situated a short distance from the waterside, which isprobably an advantage. It was spotlessly clean and in first classdecorative order. The bedrooms and bathrooms are slightly small but thebeds are very good indeed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful andthe buffet breakfast was excellent value. My wife and I stayed only onenight during our off-peak touring holiday. We will certainly return tothis hotel and stay longer next time.
Review 54:We found the room, which was not large, hot at night (although there wasno heating on) . If the window was left open, then we could hear thenoise from the road/ surrounding area.
Review 55:Easy to find, tho' a little away from sea front. The french speakingowner very welcoming, and there was no problem that we had a dog with us(tho' there was a charge). Free on street parking available. The roomwas clean, with comfortable bed and shower/plenty of hot water.Excellent breakfast for e9 in pleasant dining room. No evening mealavailable but owner recommended excellent restaurant nearby.
Review 56:no air conditioning
Review 57:very calm, close to the beach, SPA included.
Review 58:Good service!
Review 59:Bathroom was a bit small, but other than that, not problem.
Review 60:Simple, practical hotel: good value.
Review 61:Great location, clean comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and a lovely breakfast
Review 62:Value and proximity to town and beaches
Review 63:A bit cramped but still pretty good for the price
Review 64:Personnel were very helpful
Review 65:Slightly odd lift arrangement.
Review 66:Friendly reception and nice, if compact, balcony with an element of sea view.
Review 67:Gated private parking area .
Review 68:no drink making facilities
Review 69:Excellent, helpful staff, could not do enough for us
