Reviews for Hotel Can Roses

Review 1:We loved the hotel and the staff. On our next visit, although we were very happy with our room, we will ask for a room with some outside space. The hotel facilities and the location are excellent. Having the train station, bus station and trams all within walking distance makes Soller a good base for visiting other parts of the island.

Review 2:We were given a warm welcome and felt immediately at ease in this oasis of calm. Our room (the family room) had a wonderful view of the mountains and it was great to relax in the large, well-kept garden. And the centre of Sollér is only a stone-throw away.

Review 3:Finding the hotel in a car and paying €20 a night to park (there is a car park not far away but didn't check cost) Go by Taxi! The breakfast was nice but perhaps a bit limited - basically a continental and if that's enough for you - fine. Something (unknown) bit my wife and me repeatedly while we stayed in Soller - we couldn't define the culprit, but I had to manage it with medication (I am a doctor) Bed was a little uncomfortable

Review 4:The location (but difficult to find driving) The setting and eating outdoor breakfast. The 2 women who manage the Hotel and all their staff are attentative and friendly. The room was lovely but quirky, in fact the whole hotel was quirky but that just made the experience more enjoyable.

Review 5:The location is fantastic - only a few minutes walk to the town centre. We loved the garden and our room ( a junior suite) was perfect and the air conditioning excellent.

Review 6:Beautiful hidden oasis in middle of Soller. Magical feel, stepping through plain wooden door into haven of peace. Largest garden in Soller with balinese daybeds and a lovely pool. Gorgeous courtyard and n Breakfast area. Very helpful and friendly staff willing to book restaurants and provide pretty much whatever is your desire. Cant wait to go back.

Review 7:This hotel was wonderful. It was in a perfect location near restaurants and amenities but felt like you were in an oasis once inside the hotel. Fantastic stay lovely staff and so peaceful.

Review 8:Pillows are foam! Not comfortable. Lack of variety at breakfast. Wifi weak.

Review 9:Pool and gardens. Attentive and friendly staff. Beautiful peaceful position. Mountains breathtaking.

Review 10:Breakfast could have been more generous/extensive.

Review 11:Great location right in centre of Soller. Individual, stylish hotel with character.Beautiful and peaceful garden with pool. Small hotel.

Review 12:The school next door was a little noisy first thing in the morning but give we are early risers it did not inconvenience us.

Review 13:Everything, breakfast was very good all you need to start your day, our room was spacious with a small outside area with sun beds the grounds of the hotel were wonderful with a larger than average swimming pool more than enough sun beds and and 2 large twin shaded beds in the middle of the garden, the staff were there if you needed them but kept in the background, you often felt you had the place to yourselves would recommend to anyone coming to Soller.

Review 14:Cold water at shower time! Not what I would expect for the price and no offer of discount or explanation apart from it was when everyone was showering.

Review 15:It was very calm and peaceful, Micheal was very charming.

Review 16:Service was poor and owners who run the hotel very unhelpful and did not seem interested in the guests. The atmosphere made you feel unwelcome.

Review 17:Location was excellent gardens Beautiful.

Review 18:Nothing to dislike at Ca'n Roses.

Review 19:Beautiful house in a fabulous garden with a pool and mountain views where you are made to feel entirely at home. Charming staff. Great recommendations from them for excellent local restaurants, car hire, beaches and day trips. Will definitely return.

Review 20:Friendly hotel in an old building but with all mod cons. Has lovely, surprisingly large garden with a pool in a quiet street. Despite its quiet location is only a short stroll from the town centre cafes, restaurants and tram and train stops.

Review 21:We had a great few days at Can Roses - our room was small but comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. Nice quiet pool. The hotel is so close to town centre and yet is secluded and quiet.

Review 22:We have stayed here several times and return because of the warm, gracious hospitality of the owners, the beautiful and relaxing garden and the elegant and comfortable interiors. Wonderful place to stay.

Review 23:Having to leave!

Review 24:Stepping through the front door into the court yard of the hotel takes your breath away with it's beauty and tranquility. A perfect place to relax and a place you long to return to. Could not fault it in any way. Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. Far exceeded our expectations.

Review 25:No negatives..when we come back next year this is the only hotel that will use.

Review 26:Everything...nothing was too much trouble for the staff....all very pleasant and willing to help and freely offered advice regarding places to see/eat.

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:Had a great 6 night stay at C'n Roses in August. Wonderful oasis in the middle of Soller. Lovely relaxed feel, staff very helpful but not overbearing, garden and pool fantastic and so quiet. Nice idea having communal breakfast got to chat to other guests. Nothing negative to say about it, would recommend and will return.

Review 29:There's nothing not to like about this lovely little hotel

Review 30:Beautiful old house, lovely room with great views of the mountains. Peaceful gardens. Attentive and helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts.

Review 31:our booking was cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks before due to go. they say they had a large block booking instead

Review 32:Wonderfully tranquil setting in a brilliantly accessible location.

Review 33:I would have loved a balcony for the amount I had paid for the room but I did book late.

Review 34:The tranquillity, very beautiful gardens, extremely peaceful.

Review 47:A hidden gem!

Review 48:It wasn't like a hotel more a home that we were very comfortable in. Beautiful gardens and outstanding facilities. We will be returning.

Review 49:Anna & Michael will look after your every need

Review 50:Pool was lovely

Review 51:Small family run hotel. Beautiful rooms and well kept pool and garden. Very helpful staff

Review 52:A small very friendly run hotel with a garden and pool. Lovely room with own terrace.

Review 53:Some noise from room above of children running.

Review 54:Balcony room and views really nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent pool.

Review 55:Everything

Review 56:Everything from breakfast to the swimming pool to the accommodation, everything was fantastic.

Review 57:the wasps around the breakfast table.

Review 58:the relaxed atmosphere and peacefulness.

Review 59:All ok

Review 60:Relaxed none formal friendley

Review 61:The terrace room was lovely, but on the expensive side. Our only (slight) worry was the lack of sound proofing on the floor above -all floors had beautiful tiles, but that meant the couple above us made quite a lot of noise moving around, as there was no carpets or rugs to absorb their sounds.

Review 62:The hotel was very well located, very close to the main square, close to some of the nicest restaurants, and off a peaceful narrow street. Very easy to find. Behind the front door was a beautiful courtyard and then a most lovely garden and large pool. The young staff were very friendly, and little things were done all the time, such as lighting our patio candles and lights after dark. The breakfast was good, and one evening a special dinner was laid on, which was very good. We would go back

Review 63:Just the noise from the school next door which seems never to abate!

Review 64:Amazing garden, beautiful quiet room, super-comfortable bed, exquisite bedding, the cosy bar, the nothing's too much trouble attitude, breakfast on the terrace, proximity to the town.

Review 65:This is an oasis in the beautiful town of Soller. We were taken aback by the friendliness of the young staff and the small details that mattered to them. Breakfast in the garden..and what a spread! Also surprising was the hotel's proximity to the bustling town square. You are never more than five minutes from the train and bus stops, restaurants and quaint bars, not to mention the stunning Sant Bartomeu church on the square . In spite of being so close to everything, you felt you were miles away...in paradise. I would highly recommend this beautiful, atmospheric hotel.

Review 66:We couldn't get into the property on arrival. This is not a hotel so reception is not always manned so no one answered the door. Make sure you have Anna's mobile number handy, she was on hand in moments after I called to let us in. Our only other niggle is that the property is next to a school and the noise at break time made the pool area unusable! Shouldn't be an issue during school holidays though

Review 67:Beautiful gardens and a wonderfully quirky house. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was a bonus as this a fabulous room with stunning views over the mountains. The staff were very attentive and helpful and were always happy to advise or organise things. Overall we had a very relaxing 4 night stay in April, long walks from the doorstep and a huge comfy bed at night time. The location is generally very peaceful and the pool area would be fabulous in the heat of summer. It's expensive but a great location in a fabulous part of Mallorca.

Review 68:There was no hot water one morning but this was speedily fixed.

Review 69:The greeting from the owners was friendly and welcoming, and they really made you feel at home. The hotel is in a quiet location away from the main hustle and bustle, but still close enough that it's only a 5 minute walk to the main town square for restaurants, shops, and train and tram. Considering it's so close to the town centre it has a large completely enclosed private garden, complete with its own swimming pool. The hotel is a lovely mixture of a traditional old building with modern conveniences and decoration.

Review 70:The hotel was tired and poorly maintained. the furniture was a mixture of second hand items, curtains hung by a wire. The sound proofing was terrible. the gardens were covered in dog mess from the two resident dogs. Breakfast was basic not the quality expected for the price of the hotel.

Review 71:The location was very convenient.

Review 72:Unable to use pool as far too cold, even thought weather warm. Air condition, is very noisy and in summer would not be effective enough

Review 73:Garden, breakfast, relaxed atmosphere.

Review 74:It was overpriced for the standard of the rooms, which are very old fashioned. We hardly saw staff, except at breakfast. Breakfast was very basic, considering the cost of the room. There is a piece of paper pinned on the wall saying boiled eggs are available free, but scrambled or fried eggs have a charge of 2 euros (which I think is ridiculous). There is a bar, but it is an honour bar and therefore had no atmosphere. We spoke to a couple who did have one drink there, but after pouring gin and tonics discovered there was no ice. Our room was up a stone staircase with a light that came on at night when you got to the foot. There is a patio light at the top which is supposed to be left on for you at night. We came back one night to darkness at the top of the stairs and my husband had to use the light on his mobile phone to find the key hole in the door. When we opened it there was a cat in the room, which must have sneaked past us. It took us over half an hour to get it out and not being cat lovers, I found it quite scary. Seemingly there is a book in the room, which I didn't see, saying you may find a cat sleeping in your bed. I don't think that's appropriate for the supposed standard of the hotel. I questioned the fact that there is no phone in the room and was told that most people have mobiles now - not much use if you need to get hold of a member of staff or is there is an emergency. We booked this hotel, because we couldn't get any other, but we won't use it again.

Review 75:The peacefulness and the garden.

Review 76:Our room overlooked the courtyard so it was a bit noisy when people were coming and going and music was playing in the bar.

Review 77:The hotel was very central to town but at the same time a peaceful oasis with its lovely pool and comfortable places to relax in the garden.

Review 78:- Breakfast was average. - The more relaxed service and style of accommodation might not suite the 'large-hotel-chain-type' customer (we loved it though).

Review 79:- Excellent main pool area. - Beautiful gardens. - Nice rooms. - Request the room with the private pool - amazing! - Very helpful staff.

Review 80:The air-condition in our room (suit with private terrace) was quite noisy

Review 81:This is really a beautiful hotel in the middle of Soller. The hotel has a large wonderful garden which is perfect for relaxing. The hotel building is an authentic Spanish hacienda

Review 82:If booking.com lets you make the reservation with an amex. The hotelshould take amex and not hide that fact in the fine print. The fact thatthis was our biggest problem should tell you how great of a hotel it is.

Review 83:A secret garden that far surpassed our expectations. It's a trulyspecial place and perfect for reenergizing the mind body and soul.

Review 84:hotel can roses need a policy of no ball games or diving onto airbeds in the water, the pool space is far to small, it could get dangerous.

Review 85:hotel can roses had a excellent feel to it, very different from all the other hotels I have stayed at, gardens were lovely, staff were very friendly and professional.

Review 86:Lack of pro activity in providing things. For the 350 euros per night charge, you would expect shampoos to be replenished, fresh orange juice at breakfast, plates that aren't nearly empty at breakfast, so that you aren't constantly asking for 'more tomatoes, please'; 'more olives, please'. (It you asked for anything, it was indeed provided). The communal loo downstairs smelt of drains, as did our friends'.

Review 87:Beautiful relaxing, lush and extensive garden. Lovely pool, of a good size and with excellent and inviting lounging areas around it. Size and design of our room. Very central position.

Review 88:Value for money - we paid Euro 240/night for the "suite"but the room had cheap furniture and the condition was not good (E.G.loose tiles in the bathroom).

Review 89:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet (but had to askfor the fresh orange juice). Beautiful garden and pool area.

Review 90:Although large, our particular room was rather impractical with an open-plan wc(!) and a squashed area for hanging & storing clothes. I would go back, though not in this room - I'm sure the others are better.

Review 91:Lovely gardens & pool with comfortable garden/pool furniture. Nice atmosphere especially in the evenings with candle-light around gardens and patios. Pleasant to sit around communal table with other guests for breakfast. Excellent location near the centre of Soller. Staff really helpful.

Review 92:The earth shattering noise from the school next door that made using the garden for relaxation impossible during school hours. Wasn't keen on the dogs around kitchen/breakfast area.

Review 93:Very well positioned for Soller, just off the main square and very quiet at night. A superb original property and gardens, unlike any big commercial hotel. Balcony room gave great views over the mountainside. Decor very individual and a great find

Review 94:Great location for the port, restaurants and bars. Will visit again.

Review 95:The hotel was beautiful and Anna the manager and her sister were incredibly helpful

Review 96:Rooms and gardens. Very helpful and informative welcome

Review 97:Lots of noisy children

Review 98:Great location

Review 99:Lack of atmosphere at breakfast. Other guest were very quiet. Maybe playing some music would help.

Review 100:Friendly staff

Review 101:Pool and garden were stunning! Beds very comfy.

Review 102:Slight smell in the bathroom

Review 103:Lovely feel to the hotel
