Review 1：One minor negative; the shower delivery was a little temperamental. It lacked pressure on the top floor.
Review 2：Despite the language barrier, we were made to feel welcome. The rooms really were top notch. Onsite parking was a positive as well.

Review 4：We chose this B&B as we thought we could easily walk from it to the Altamira Caves. It turned out that driving was better as the walk would have been along a highway. The B&B itself is very nice - our room had a small balcony, the room was adequate in size, the owner/hostess was very friendly and helpful in spite of our inability to speak Spanish and hers to speak English. The back yard with a patio is lovely and shows true pride of ownership. The breakfast was good with toasted bread, cakes, cheeses and excellent coffee. The old part of Santillana del Mar is an easy 12 - 15 minute walk from the B&B and well worth seeing. It's an absolutely charming place to visit.
Review 5：The hostess was wonderful. She baked pan dulce daily and was very accommodating. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Santillana del Mar where you have many choices for lunch or dinner as the Posada only provides breakfast. The Posada was spotlessly clean and has good parking space for guests. Would definetly stay here again. It is an incredible bargain.

Review 7：The hospitality is wonderful - It felt like they truly cared about our experience, and our enjoyment mattered to them. Ana went above and beyond, talking to us on the mobile along the roads after we got turned around trying to get there. She and her mum Lola are grand, the food is delicious, and the posada itself is a delightful property.

Review 14：This was a great place to stay, the hosts were very welcoming and allowed us to enjoy the comfort of the house as if it were our own home. The bedroom was traditionally furnished and the bed very comfortable. Both Santillana and the altimara caves were close by and another plus was that it had private parking. I woul have no hesitation in staying there again.
Review 15：We just needed a place to sleep near the Altamira Cave. Herran is actually closer to the cave museum than Santillana del Mar. We felt very lucky to find this posada. Our room overlooked lovely green hills.

Review 21：We stayed all week in the Posada Herran. Lidia and the family are excellent hosts, even with the language barrier. Rooms are tastefully decorated, big and spotless. The same for bathroom. Breakfast was prepared by Lidia and always had home bake cake, delicious. I would highly recommend this b&b.
Review 22：We had to pay with cash as they weren't set up for card payments, of which we weren't aware, which was a bit embarrassing as we had spent our cash prior to coming home. However a visit to the bank sorted it. Maybe we didn't notice this on the web site or maybe it wasn't on.
Review 23：The cleanliness was the first thing we noticed when we arrived. Everything spotless and shining. The bed covers were just right, adjustable for the weather, the bathroom facilities perfect. The breakfast was good with freshly squeezed orange juice, toast, cheese, jams and cake. The hostess was very helpful and informative. Parking was good. We enjoyed the position of the posada, affording a ten minute walk into Santillana in the evening. All in all a great three days to end the holiday.

Review 64：The location, within an easy walk of Santillana del Mar (under 15 mins), the zoo (15 mins) and the Cuevas de Altamira (30 mins), is excellent. The staff don't speak much English, but they are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple and good, there were toys for children, it was clean and attractive. We booked the last room at the top and had to stand up for a view (lovely), but that wasn't important. We weren't in Spain to stay in. Great place to stay.
Review 65：Due to a recent paint job there was an overpowering smell of solvents in the room. Even sleeping with the window open did not help. The bathroom was giving off a strong sewage smell. An uncomfortable start to the holidays but the low price made it acceptable.

Review 73：We were travelled by bus and train, and bus schedules are difficult to get into small towns. Had to roll suitcases 1,000 meters uphill. Town of Santillana is a tourist trap. Had to figure out bus to get to Santander.
Review 74：Best stay for the money that we had in 12 days in northern Spain. Owner was most helpful. Little town of Santillana is restored old pueblo, and it is absolutely beautiful. We could walk uphill to caves of Altamira. Worth it.
