Reviews for Hôtel Central

Review 1:Rooms were a little dated. Noise really travels at night.

Review 2:Perfect location near the old centre of town. Easy stroll to everything. Staff were really friendly, restaurant really delucious and good value.

Review 3:The room could benefit from renovation. There are also too many stairs for those travellig with prams or aged person.

Review 4:Very good location with Hotel Dieu just around the corner

Review 5:The internet connection was not good.

Review 6:The location is excellent, right in the heart of Beaune. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a double room and it was lovely. Very comfortable and nice to come back to after a busy day.

Review 7:Rooms were closely packed so occasional bit of noise from adjacent room but not a problem to sleep.

Review 8:Relatively simple room but it had all that you need. Very pleasant staff and nice restaurant attached. The location is excellent, near the town centre but within walking distance of train station and large supermarket.

Review 9:There was a raised step in our room which my wife tripped and fell because it goes up then down..It should be better marked and the hotel should give advance warning to guests

Review 10:Staff. Location next to Hotel Dieu.

Review 11:Wifi was awful and speed so bad you couldn't use at all. Had to go into lobby. Drab run down appearance. Ok if you are in twenties and on a budget but not near quality we expected. Don't recommend for mature adults. Bed uncomfortable.

Review 12:Good location for walking and seeing town

Review 13:A very mixed reception upon arrival. Initially we were welcomed by a man who was rather cold and unhelpful but after we had parked the female receptionist couldn't have been more welcoming. Breakfast was disappointing but not at all expensive though. The decor was very dated.

Review 14:The location was spot on and the bedroom a good size.

Review 15:I chose a non-a/c room and it was miserable when the temps hit 35!

Review 16:The staff was very helpful, arranging for a bike and checking repeatedly to make sure I had everything I needed.

Review 17:Downside, no elevator that I could see. Parking is a minor issue - but once unloaded, any of the free parking around the outside of the city isn't too far.

Review 18:This hotel is inside the walled part of the city center, which makes everything extremely close in this small town. We enjoyed the staff, and had a spacious room, including a large bathroom (for France). The rooms didn't seem very updated, but I found them quite comfortable.

Review 19:On the less favorable side - the interior finishes haven't been remodeled since the early 1990's at the latest. Not all of the room furnishings were in great condition. That being said, our family room was generously sized & everything worked quite well. Just be aware for what you are paying: friendly service & great location. The breakfast was nice (not exceptional) quality, but perhaps a little expensive @ 10.95 / adult (compared to the Ibis Styles hotels at which I've recently stayed). Wifi was "free" but speed was very slow (even for France).

Review 20:The location is great - right around the corner from the Hotel Dieu & plenty of restaurants & retail opportunities. The associated restaurant (Cheval Blanc) serves standard Bourgogne fare at reasonable prices. The service was very friendly, which I appreciated as we were traveling with our 2-year old son. The also gave us a discount on the Family Room, when there was an issue with our reservation.

Review 21:I was surprised to know that the price was regular price. No up-dates, even I asked for bath tub. I would pay extra but the a guy said "you asked for it." Kind of... I had to stay one more night for a work, then he gave me 10% off, which is 6 Euros.

Review 22:Location and female staff were very nice.

Review 23:We cannot say we didn't the like the hotel but the comfy bed was oh so tiny for two people,we booked a superior room with large bed. but the actual room was very small. Very adequate for an overnight stay.

Review 24:it is a great location for an over night stop to and from the south of France. The manager and staff could not be more helpful. They even kept the kitchen open when we were running late so we had a hot meal.

Review 25:The decor is rather tired but to be honest it's quite charming

Review 26:The staff were incredibly helpful! So nice and friendly and they know loads about wine. Perfect base for exploring Burgundy.

Review 27:The decor is very out dated and tired. It could all so with a revamp and then it would be special. Early dustbin trucks woke us in the family room very early and there wasn't any hot water.

Review 28:Location was great to be able to walk out to the many restaurants and bars. Staff wee helpful and friendly.

Review 29:Bad decor in the bedroom, peeling wallpaper, carpet needed replacing No help offered to carry 2 suitcases up 2 flights of stairs Bad lighting in the bedroom , very dim Not cheap Pretty depressing in all

Review 30:Location in the center of town We were able to leave our luggage after check out and collect it several hours later The beds were comfortable Good lighting in the bathroom

Review 31:The location could not be better! The staff were exceedingly helpful and pleasant-of-manner. The corridors were labyrinthine and mysterious! A lovely hotel, where delighting time was spent! I thank you!

Review 32:Th wifi baaaaarely reached the room and there was no way to take a shower without holding the handle up. Also, the water pressure was horrible.

Review 33:Location! Perfect spot. The double queen beds were exactly what we needed and it was such a beautiful building.

Review 34:A little dated. Car suffered minor damage using valet parking however hotel have agreed to pay for the damage via their insurance.

Review 35:Great position, could not be better. Good breakfast

Review 36:There was no lift in this hotel. For my husband and I this was not a problem but we were travelling with an elderly gentleman and he had a difficult time with the stairs so I would keep this in mind of you have bad knees etc. The price of the wine on their dinner menu was a bit more than the other restaurants in town but I suppose they need to make more money somehow ... we just ordered one bottle to go with dinner and had our other drinks elsewhere. The wifi was very slow and actually on the second day quit altogether which was very inconvenient.

Review 37:This hotel was perfectly located to explore Beaune. It was walking distance to everything in town. The hotel had a really nice, helpful staff. The rooms were very clean. The restuarant had very good food. We had a car and for 15 euro a day they parked it for us and retrieved it for us every time we needed it. This was a huge plus for us. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this town.

Review 38:The staff are v v friendly - you'll feel like family The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable The terrace is ideal for evening drinks The location is second to none The wifi works well Great value too And the manager Lionel went out of his way to park my car in free parking - and is v friendly and professional And there's loads of good wine nearby!

Review 50:Poor wifi connection from a room, but good in a hall

Review 51:Great location, quiet hotel

Review 52:Poor quality bedroom, bathroom, toilet.very low shower pressure.Loose bed on casters.Bedspread full of dust.

Review 54:Best location in Beaune

Review 55:GOING HOME

Review 56:FRIENDLINESS

Review 57:We had the family suite with two beds. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly, and the location cannot be beat.

Review 58:Floor carpet is old and dusty needs to be renewed. Pillows are too high.

Review 59:Location. Staff is very friendly.

Review 60:evething was excellent very polte helpful staff

Review 61:WiFi signal too weak in bedroom

Review 62:Excellent car valet service

Review 63:comfort of the room needs updating

Review 64:the location is very handy

Review 65:Wifi bit poor out of reception area

Review 66:Helpful staff Good parking service Good breakfast

Review 67:Difficult to reach the wifi in the room.

Review 68:expensive breakfast

Review 69:excellent localization, friendly stuff

Review 70:the town

Review 71:Parking was almost impossible, we had to pay 15 Euros extra

Review 72:Kind and efficient service

Review 73:Overpriced, Rude staff, Poor hot water supply, Outdated wifi reception

Review 74:Central location, spacious room

Review 75:the bed was too narrow for 2 and very uncomfortable. Shower was also not 3 stars :)

Review 76:Interesting and frankly medievel lavatory plumbing - natural things only anf all paper in an accompanying bin!

Review 77:Location and value

Review 78:Good location, tired decor, poor shower and no hot water, at best a 2 star. Overpriced.

Review 79:excellent value for money, charming staff and fab location

Review 80:Very friendly

Review 81:Some renovation of the rooms is needed. They are functional, nice and clean but don't smell fresh. And it's not enough to open the windows.

Review 82:Perfect location close to the most interesting sights and places in this historic and beautiful little town. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 83:The decor was tired and probably dated from the 1980s. None of the furnishings or carpets seemed clean. Walls were very thin and we could hear every movement from adjacent rooms. The heating was an ancient fan heater which smelled. The bath only had a hand held shower rather than an overhead shower. Definitely not three star standard - don't waste your money, even a basic hotel chain would probably be better.

Review 84:The central location

Review 85:The shower was a joke. "Hot" water took 10 mins to run through and the water pressure was laughable. Shower is better described as a trickle. Overall decor and fittings were tired and not especially clean. Staff were not at all engaging For €135 a night would expect better.

Review 86:Location. Beaune is well worth a visit and we will stay there again - but not here!

Review 87:No elevator.

Review 88:Very good location in Beaune, close to Hotel deVille. Reasonable walk to train station. Staff spoke English, were pleasant and helpful. Beaune is a pleasant, laid back town to walk in. Many interesting sites within biking or short driving distance.

Review 89:Pictures slightly different from reality, definitely not a 3 star! Expensive dinner for the quality.

Review 90:Central and easy to reach, left my car in the central square for free (at night).

Review 91:Room very dark but a comfortable bathroom. Kitchen was directlyunder our room and extremely noisy from 6 A.M. onwards and also tillmid night.

Review 92:In the centre of town

Review 93:The minibar was broken other than that there is nothing I can fault the hotel on.

Review 94:The central location, the friendly staff, the valet parking, the retro layout of the interior, the 2 french windows were beautiful and had a lovely view of the square and the street.

Review 95:No lift and some steep stairs. Also restaurant was very basic.

Review 96:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location, close to the hospice and restaurants could not be beaten.

Review 97:Beaune and surrounds merit a two or three day visit. My one and a half day stay was not enough. Also, in May need to plan for rainy days.

Review 98:Very centrally located in Beaune. A 10 min walk from the train station. Staff were helpful.

Review 99:Excellent, comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very central to the town of Beaune which made our visit even easier. Would definitely recommend to freinds/family and will book again if we return to the area.

Review 100:It's probably noisy where the hotel is busier as the walls are not the thickest. The breakfast was not very good.

Review 101:Brilliant location! We were on an onvernight stay on the way back to the UK from the south of France so all we really needed was a bed and a meal. Loads of lovely restaurants a stroll from the hotel so perfect for our requirements.

Review 102:Breakfast was particularly basic, a really poor deal even by Frenchhotel standards. I'd skip it another time, there are plenty ofcafés nearby.

Review 103:Fairly good hotel, well located in the centre of Beaune. At 60 euros fora single I found it reasonable value for money. Travelling alone, I hada small but perfectly adequate single room, with a good sized tv and acomfortable bed. The bathroom contained a shower which took a while towarm up but kept a constant temperature once it got there. However therewas no ventilation in bathroom, apart from the open doorway (no door, only a curtain).

Review 104:see above noisy room ( nr 6)

Review 105:The location is fine, we been here several times on our way to the south. Good restaurant to. Rooms with windows towards the streets are very noisy because of traffic over cobble stone road.

Review 106:This hotel is right in the centre of beautiful Beaune and offers quiet, spacious and comfortable accomodation with aircon. The hotel's restaurant is excellent too. We have eaten there twice. The menu is simple, but fabulous. Boeuf bourgignon a delight, and a wonderful wine list of the region. It is just a great place to stay and staff go out of their way to be helpful. TIP: For those that think parking may be an issue, or expensive, there is a free public car park 5 minutes walk away. Drive to the hotel, drop off luggage and passengers, then follow the one-way through the medieval centre of Beaune from the hotel circling anti-clockwise onto Avenue de la Republique. At the end where it joins Bd Clemenceau, there is a large free car park in the ramparts of the walled city on the left.

Review 107:Lionel the Manager was extremely helpful and friendlyNothing too much trouble The bedroom a little od fashioned don't expect British design and style But very clean and spacious Beautiful quaint traditional typical french hotel loved it !!!!

Review 108:We had some problem with the "infrastructure" in the hotel, i.e. no hot water for a while, the water did not disepear from the sink, a lamp was disconnected from its mounting, etc

Review 109:Perfect location and genuine athmosphere.

Review 110:The bathroom door was noisy when opening and closing which woke myhusband if I got up in the night to use it. The owner Lionel was veryaccommodating.

Review 111:Location and friendly, helpful staff. If there was anything needed theywere more than happy to help.

Review 112:No airco. No elevator (this didn't bother us as our suitcases whererushed upstairs by the sympathetic owner).

Review 113:This hotel is well cared for. Good beds (1.80m?) + good breakfast.Central location.

Review 114:We quite enjoyed our stay there even though it was just a short stay, particularly the two male staff were very cheerful, helpful andfriendly. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers seeking anenjoyable and relaxing short holiday. Location of the hotel isexcellent....very close to the information centre and wine stores.

Review 115:the maintenance of the rooms good be better. here and there the plastering on the walls came lose. painting was with many scratches.

Review 116:reception was excellent, so was the help with the booking. Food restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed it very much

Review 117:The owners were most welcoming. I was on a stop-over on a long 14 hourdrive, and they were very accommodating to my late arrival at hotel at23.00 hours. My room was basic and clean. The owner had water andinternet access code ready for me. Breakfast was exellent. I woulddefinitely stay there again purely because of the welcome andfriendliness.

Review 118:Very average hotel but perfectly positioned. We felt it was good value forkmoney. Would recommend if you are just looking for a place to lay your head and want to be smack dab in the middle of town!

Review 119:No tea or coffee facilities in room.

Review 120:Very helpful friendly staff. Decent room with large bathroom. Set in thebeautiful square with bars and restaurants and, of course, wine shops onhand. Good value for money.

Review 121:Great location and the staff did all they could to answer my questions.

Review 122:a bit far from the train station.

Review 123:close to all touristic attractions. dinner was also good. smooth wifi connection at the room.

Review 124:Location and the handy valat parking

Review 125:Dated shabby decor and interior from the 1970's. non functioning toilet. i would NOT recommend.

Review 126:Location off main square
