Reviews for Hotel Bollaert

Review 1:there was a constant stench from the bathroom, bathroom doors were not good..the slide system was spotty

Review 2:breakfast was good, staff were courteous and ready to help

Review 3:The rroms are not vary large and as it was very hot that day we found it difficult to get cool enough even with the window open. The new football stadium (being upgraded) and a large carpark are nearby so it might be noisy at times as one access road came past our room.

Review 4:The hotel was relatively easy to find and not too far from the town centre. It was convenient for use as a transit hotel for our journey. The meal we ate in their brasserie was exellent and the staff friendly. Private parking on site was helpful.

Review 5:I gave a so so review of the breakfast because I am diabetic and the only choices for me were egg, ham or cheese really. A non -sugar coated cereal choice would have been nice.

Review 6:Friendly laid back staff. Location is ok - you can get 3 or 4 buses right outside the hotel to the rail/bus station which is the centre of town for only Euro 1.20 - the walk isn't too bad either.

Review 7:We were visiting some friends and needed a place to sleep. The rooms are clean but very small. I think it's a little bit to expensive for so small rooms.

Review 8:The staff is very friendly! They renovated in the corridors and some rooms. It looks nice.

Review 9:Good secure parking. Beer at reception! Sorry it was August and the restaurant was closed. Howver, it was a nice walk into Lens where we found two decent places to eat

Review 10:Could not get WIFI in room, only in the bar.

Review 11:Food. Evening restaurant was exceptional. We were a bit late for breakfast one morning and the croissants ran out. The waiter said he would have some in ten minutes. True to his word he came back with some freshly made.

Review 12:Small bedroom & bathroom. Poor price /quality breakfast

Review 13:Friendly personnel

Review 14:No coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms

Review 15:Excellent value for money

Review 16:shower head too low to have a proper shower

Review 17:quiet and comfortable

Review 18:The location was very convenient for the town.

Review 19:To use the shower one had to either kneel, sit or lie in the bath and there was no shower curtain.

Review 20:Breakfast expensive for for poor limited menu. Don't bother. I wish I hadn't .

Review 21:Easy to get to. Ideal for a stop after channel crossing.

Review 22:Ver helpful staff and very convenient location

Review 23:No food on offer, locked in hotel despite telling staff we required early start. Car locked in car park, no staff on site

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Restaurant closed on a Sunday evening.

Review 26:Easily accessible for a stopover. Friendly staff, comfortable room and excellent breakfast.

Review 27:Very good location to walk to Louvre Lens Museum and Lens town centre. Also secure locked overnight parking.

Review 28:No iron.

Review 29:No adverse comments

Review 30:Pleasant and helpful staff. Spacious bedroom. Very clean.

Review 31:Staff very welcoming, room clean and comfortable.

Review 32:One small disappointment ,2 of the group had a fish course , at lunch time ,which was somewhat overcooked . Otherwise the remaining enjoyed their lunch.

Review 33:Come on Booking.com - you're having a laugh .... this is nowhere near a 7.4 rating. Ok, the reception/lounge area has been renovated but when you step out of the lift its like time travel - you have been transported back to the early 70's. The corridors are dark and dingy, the room unattractive and a general feeling of shabbiness. We had a supposedly "superior" room that looked out onto a flat roof and derelict buildings, with used cigarette buts thrown out from the window and visible all along the roof - I would hate to see a standard room. The area the hotel is located in is run down, with boarded up buildings and shutters on every shop and house window. The hotel is situated about 100m from a football stadium and the car park adjoins the stadium car park. It has a high wire fence around the car park and we were assured it was locked between 11pm and 6am (we did not check this) - but that still leaves all cars vulnerable for the majority of the day. Arriving from the south the hotel is about 20 minutes off the motorway, but it is quicker from the north. WiFi only worked in the reception area. The price is very high compared to other stop-over hotels such as Ibis or Campanile, and it does NOT include breakfast. I was expecting a lot more for the price. Personally I would not rate this any higher than a 4.5.

Review 34:The lounge area was pleasant and the bedding was clean.

Review 35:Room had a bad smell upon arrival. Restaurant was closed (1st may) we should have been informed about closure when booking. Staff at reception desk was reluctant cq refused to help us find another restaurant (apart from a very bad patatoe-restaurant in the neighbourhood)

Review 36:Nothing, this time

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:Modern hotel on the main road into town yet room very quiet and comfortable. Good quality bedding and towels. Walking distance into town. Good secure parking.

Review 39:the hotel does not have its name outside - or at least I couldn't see it. The wifi was too weak to use.

Review 40:The secure parking was needed. The restaurant was good, quiet with a great choice of menus.

Review 41:There wasn't much English spoken which was not helpful in the restaurant. We were not happy with our evening meals. We only used it once and one meal was too oily and my partner's steak was almost inedible. It would have been obvious to the chef before he cooked it. Mc.Donalds is close by so that was a good thing.

Review 42:Our room was comfortable. Parking was close. No problems with noise.

Review 43:WiFi - tried many, many times from room and lobby. Was only able to log on once during our stay. The rest of the time, the hotel's server did not come up as a choice, or when it did, the signal was too weak for it to proceed to the log-in screen. The tiny packets of combination shampoo/bath gel

Review 44:Secure parking, keypad entry at outside door that leads to the rooms(separate from lobby), energy efficient shower, comfortable beds. Great access to Louvre-Lens via paved15-20 minute walk past the stadium, under the railroad tracks to museum. Most of that walk did not allow vehicles.

Review 45:Less friendly staff the next day. Were obviously among the last to have breakfast ar 9.00 a.m. And had to keep asking for everything - more cofee, more hot water, some ham (just empty plate with a fork left on the buffet).

Review 46:Very friendly staff on arrival

Review 47:Very bad speaking english at the reception. 2 electrical sockets out of order! Very slow and not working wi-fi! No dustbin in the room.

Review 48:Nice ambient, nice location, comfortable bed.

Review 49:After a late night tunnel crossing we were looking for a stopover about an hour into France. Arriving at midnight (as advised previously) we were met courteously in the pouring rain by name and the secure car park was opened for us. A comfortable night's sleep ensued.

Review 50:NO Kettle and No Shawer screen and Re Breakfast----NO VALUE FOR MONEY !!!!!! Very poor sorry but better to go near super market ,this hotel is very good for football supportes , but we will try to stay again on DIY many thanks Jadzia Kubiak and Marian Liszczyk

Review 51:Location good for our need

Review 52:Excellent location near Louvre-Lens. Well thought-out menu with wide variety of choice at a variety of prices. The food was very good indeed, especially the breakfast. Very good secure parking

Review 53:despite a sign saying 'we speak English' amongst other languages, the lady on check in did not which made it quite difficult for us. Room very bland. Hairdryer very weak. Front door locked shut on our arrival! (approx 15.00hrs) Room priced too high for what it was.

Review 54:Secure parking

Review 55:Hand held shower. No tea /Coffee making facilities. Staff didn't speak much English even though they wore badges to say they did.

Review 56:Comfortable rooms. Good restaurant for evening meals

Review 57:The fact that there was a very bad mobile signal reception in the hotelincluding a very poor almost inexistent and unstable reception of 3g. Inaddition unfortunately the wifi-hotspots at the hotel were not robustenough. So impossible to maintain an internet connection. For worktravelers this can be a very serious issue that should be taken underconsideration.

Review 58:The friendly atmosphere and the staff.

Review 59:We were a little concerned about how close this hotel is to the local football stadium, and there was a match on, the night we stayed. No problems at all; a large "family" element to the fans, who were very well-behaved. No problem with noise.

Review 60:We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Louvre Lens, which is a pleasant stroll away (so no problems with parking, as the hotel has a secure exterior area for guests' cars)

Review 61:Fantastic value for a quick trip to see the last game of the season of RC Lens. Staff were excellent as was our room and breakfast. Secure parking too. Would happily recommend to anyone. Allez Les Sang et Or.

Review 62:Nothing negative to report.

Review 63:It was easy to find from the motorway, there was parking adjacent to thehotel. We walked the next day from the hotel to the Louvre/Lensmuseum, the purpose of our visit and, it took about twenty-five minutes. The bedroom and bathroom were fine and we enjoyed our meal in therestaurant.

Review 64:I was charged € 8.50 for a single cup of coffee requested from the frontdest when we declined breakfast on leaving. The receptionist seemed tothink this was totally reasonable. We wont be returning.

Review 65:Not much

Review 66:No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. No information booklet with times of meals etc.

Review 67:Easy to find and parking.

Review 68:Food

Review 69:friendlyness of staff cleanliness of room and hotel itself secure parking and 24 hour reception

Review 70:Disappointed with the evening meal after reading previous reviews. Adequate but nothing special

Review 71:Large comfortable room, plenty of parking

Review 72:Shampoo/Body wash sachets. No hair dryer

Review 73:Breakfast

Review 74:Wifi very intermittent

Review 75:Friendly staff, lovely evening meal,

Review 76:Overpriced for what it had to offer.

Review 77:Close to the centre of town and the Louvre. Breakfast was good.

Review 78:Excellant secure, free parking. A very pleasant walk in tree-lined walkways to the Louvre Lens gallery

Review 79:On the expensive side

Review 80:Good location, easy to find, comfortable room

Review 81:I like the place. It is quiet. All persons who work there are friendly. It's clean.

Review 86:Restaurant let down by paper napkins.

Review 87:very convenient for Louvre (Lens).Very nice restaurant.

Review 88:Difficult to find.

Review 89:The staff were friendly and the room clean and roomy

Review 90:Difficulty with language

Review 91:Location good for loos battlefields and close to town centre

Review 92:Breakfast was somewhat poor: no frech coffy, little choise, etc.

Review 93:I liked the friendly sphere, the guest friendlyness, the easy way of living.

Review 94:A little expensive for 3 stars

Review 95:location & staff
