Reviews for Gran Hotel Soller
Review 1:Spa facilities could be better. Sauna not always in use. Steam room out of use. Mostly unattended although I believe it was possible to call for assistance. Disappointed with food on offer on half board option. Little provision for vegetarians. Cancelled half board after two nights stay. Roof top pool facilities poor. Cafe bar never attended. No balcony in room although requested.
Review 2:Nice old building of character. Good location. Pleasant staff.
Review 3:One member of staff had a persistent cough and was putting out bread rolls in the evening with his bare hands, so we chose to eat elsewhere
Review 4:Quiet room, helpful and informative staff. Fab choice for breakfast
Review 5:I find it hard to fault Gran Hotel, the room was spotless and comfortable, the facilities excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. My "difficult" dietary requirements were catered for without question or hesitation. In fact the only thing that could have been better about our stay there is if it had lasted for two weeks rather than just one.
Review 6:The sauna wasn't working . Seems trivial but should've mentioned it at reception as we got changed and went to the sauna for nothing
Review 7:Great hotel on a great location at an excellent price
Review 8:Both the outdoor and indoor pool area had maintenance problems that could have ended very badly indeed!
Review 9:Comfortable rooms and nice atmosphere; excellent location
Review 10:Only really that the food was a little pricey... But was delicious and Michelin rated !!!
Review 11:This place is a little piece of heaven. I don't want to say too much as would rather keep it a secret !!!!! I usually go to the typical resort places. First time I've gone inland and to a more traditional Spanish hotel but I'm so glad I did. Travelled as a single Parent with my 9yr old son and whilst hotel is quiet , it was perfect for such a relaxing break and if you need to get to beach or visit other places they are all in easy reach. I would def def return.... But pls don't tell anyone !!!!!! :) :)
Review 12:A group of 35 very loud people arrived for two days and they were so noisy even after being asked to be quieter, they commandeered the pool which was really to small for all of them to-gether,so the other guests left.
Review 13:It was a most relaxing holiday, in an ideal village atmosphere, excellent rooms with sitting room which was great for us as there was four of us, our son and daughter in law were with us and it gave us a quiet area to be to-gether.
Review 14:This is our second time in two months we have stayed here and will go back again. The location is fantastic and the hotel and its court yard are beautiful. When relaxing at the pool you are surrounded by the Serra De tramuntana mountains it is quite incredible.
Review 15:Staff were lovely, rooms great, pool lovely, location great. This was our second time at the hotel as a couple and this time we brought a friend...we'll definitely be back
Review 16:lovely hotel and very nice staff. i have stayed here before. maybe some new things here and there, carpets etc could be added but overall its lovely and the price in august was amazing
Review 17:Not sure whether I would rate this as a five star hotel as the interior is very worn and dated. The carpets were worn and shabby, our shower had black mould in the grouting and the pool area and furniture was looking very tired and dated. It had the feel of a conference hotel and whilst the staff were very accommodating it's not geared at all to young children (tiny pool etc)
Review 18:The staff were excellent as was the food. The outside terrace is lovely for breakfast. The service was second to none. They do the best sangria we had, which we nicknamed 'drunk in a glass' as it was so strong.
Review 19:Not many sun loungers on the roof, as was busy.
Review 20:Breathtaking views of the mountains from roof top pool. friendly staff & good breakfast. Also had use of spa showers after we had checked out, Adequate parking.
Review 21:service at pool bar was exemplary, good food at pool bar and plenty of sunbeds. pool is small but ideal for a quick dip and swim, perfect temp as well. All staff were fantastic and location was perfect for Soller town and the tram to the port.
Review 22:a three person room was booked for three single women, we were offered a double bed and a child sized fold out bed. we were eventually given a second room. the pool was unavailable for one day due to a wedding.
Review 23:the location was very convenient
Review 24:Feels a little old. Not really a 5 star hotel from a traditional sense in terms of luxury as the hotel feels dated and old. Rooms need refreshing.
Review 25:Location is Soller is fantastic. Has a car park. Views are great. Extremely good value for money Would stay again
Review 26:Pool facilities were poor for a five star hotel as was the request only to use one pool side towel .jaccuzi was not inviting
Review 27:Staff were friendly breakfast was good prices for food and drink were rediculously cheap .
Review 28:Pool smaller than appeared in photographs. Air conditioning needed to be cooler, however temperature was unusually hot.
Review 29:Friendliness of staff & the service was excellent
Review 30:The breakfasts were ok, but the staff were often unable to cope with the number of people, and the food (particularly the fruit) wasn't replaced when it was used up
Review 31:The friendliness of the staff
Review 32:The hotel was perfectly placed for wandering in and around Soller. There was a good buffet selection for breakfast and eating in the garden was a delight. Our room was modern and had a well-equipped bathroom. The roof top pool was a pleasant place for a dip and a drink.
Review 33:I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 34:The location of the hotel being just a short walk from the square. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
Review 35:Comfortable rather than luxurious - small roof pool area with inadequate amount of sun loungers when the hotel is busy.
Review 36:A nice base to access the surrounding area. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms.
Review 37:Facilities were very average, there was no service by the pool and when we did ask, it took a long time to come. Breakfast was average.
Review 38:Room was comfortable!
Review 39:Not a 5* hotel and hence not worth the important price difference to a 4* hotel. A city hotel must make the difference by immaculate service . There was lack of management to make this a 5* hotel.
Review 40:Small and good location.
Review 41:Smell in bathroom presumably from drains wasn't pleasant. Spa facilities could have been better. Difficult access to spa pool down ladder.
Review 42:Location, excellent breakfast, fab pool gym
Review 43:Nothing....even the cost was good.
Review 44:The building is great, dining in the garden is great, the rooms are spacious (huge storage space), the pools (on the roof & in the basement) are great....but best of all is the staff who make the stay feel like being at home with better service.
Review 45:Spa is very poor. Good breakfast but sweets part can be improved.
Review 46:Amazing location. Nice room and comfortable bed. Nice roof terrace. Nice staff. Parking.
Review 47:The spa - very small pool, sauna was on but not hot and had no water bucket, steam room was locked-more 3* than 5*.
Review 48:Location was superb; room had good views of the mountains and the bed was so comfortable; breakfast was 5+
Review 49:The only thing I can find to fault about this hotel is that it was difficult to get wifi in rooms but could get it in reception
Review 50:Hotel was lovely breakfast very good rooms large and comfortable and very clean staff very attentive perfect in every way will certainly be going again and highly reccommend
Review 51:Spotted this hotel about 10 years ago and have always wanted to stay - it did not disappoint me!! The whole ambience of the hotel was wonderful - we only stayed 2 nights which was far to short and the staff were fantastic Looking forward to going back!!!
Review 52:Soller is a town with restaurants of every class and always something going on even in winter it's friendly and has a good mix of locals and visitors. Gran hotel is fairly small but the pools are good and peaceful
Review 53:Turned out to be a mistake to have booked half board. Service at dinner abysmally slow - about 30 minutes between courses. Food quite good, but very solid meat/fish and nothing Mallorquin about it. Virtually no vegetables. Salads were just a bit of chewy greenery. Fixed menu which came already plated. Possible to have a little leeway, but given so many nice restaurants in and around Soller, bed and breakfast would have been far better. Rather disquieting to be be told upon arrival that our reservation had been cancelled. When pressed for a copy of the cancellation notice so that we might complain to Booking.com, the story suddenly changed to it being their fault for double booking. We had to endure two nights in a dreadful room - no floor space due to camp bed for our 21 year old daughter and view from window of the bins. One would expect better at an Ibis or Holiday Inn. Then had 7 nights in an excellent suite - more expensive than our original booking but at no extra cost. Some carpets in public areas worn and tired looking. Down-market piped tinny pop music. Not sure it was what most people would expect for 5 star rating.
Review 54:Excellent location and lovely staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Beautiful shady outside dining area. Suite we had for 7 out of 9 days was excellent. After very bumpy start in a dreadful room we did enjoy our stay, but would only recommend the hotel to others with reservations.
Review 55:Pool on the roof was small, so we ended up not using it. Though this wasn't an issue since we wanted to spend most of our time enjoying the beach anyway.
Review 56:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite with ajoining rooms, which was smart, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and nice variety of options. Location was great, very close to the central square. It was easy to catch the tram down to the beach and restaurants of Port de Soller.
Review 57:Gym equipment needs updating and it would be helpful to have a porter or concierge to help with luggage and booking taxis etc.
Review 58:Location and peaceful ambience.
Review 59:Poor internet in rooms, swimming pool area could be made more atractive( not staffed all the time)
Review 60:Friendly staff, great breakfast, great rooms, beds and very comfortable.
Review 61:We loved everything. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel.
Review 62:The staff was amazing, accommodating, friendly and attentive. One of the best hotel staffs ever. The hotel feel was homey and welcoming. The pool was a terrific end to each day. Delicious breakfast each morning with lovely staff to engage with. Terrific location for all needs in the area. Good value for money. Terrific introduction to Mallorca. We want to go back. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Gran Soller
Review 63:No mirror at all in bedroom so you have to use bathroom but not full-length and steamed up after shower.
Review 64:The quality of the service by all the staff was exceptional. Superb breakfast in pleasant garden with great fresh choice. Nice mountain view balcony room with large bathroom.
Review 65:Waiters completely disappeared after the evening meal. It was a beautiful evening/ location and we decided to sit and have a drink and play a game of cards but the service just dried up. It was only about 10.30/11 pm which is not late by Spanish standards. The air conditioning in our room was very poor as was the tiny TV set in both our room and my daughters room.
Review 66:Fab location. Had a good meal with the DBB package. Good breakfast. Beautiful setting and views. The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming.
Review 67:there was no mirrors in the bedroom we had to use the one in the bathroom which meant waiting for the mirror to clear up after using the shower. there is no full mirrors in hte room at all.
Review 68:The staff
Review 69:much more a 4 than a 5 star hotel.

Review 113:Need to improve rooms air-conditioning. Room hot despite cool setting.
Review 114:Laid back, but great unassuming service.
Review 115:The jacuzzi in the room wasnt working plus no sea view
Review 116:I liked the service level very much
Review 117:Not much, some outside sunbathing in the grounds would be nice
Review 118:Good location, nice bar and dining facilities. Excellent staff
Review 119:breakfast service and buffet poor, pool area poor no service around the pool I could go on but this is no five star hotel. Regards H Hartley
Review 120:good position.
Review 121:Some areas are starting to feel a little old. The pool area needs a little tlc to bring it back to the standard one would expect at a 5* hotel. Little details like bulbs not working, candle holders with no glass in them and the pool bar never opened. The shower in our room tended to flood the bathroom also. The restaurant staff could be a bit friendlier especially one man who appeared grumpy every time I dealt with him. But the food was excellent.
Review 122:Beautiful building and fabulous food (we had breakfast included and this was amazing). The evening meals were also wonderful. The staff (reception and housekeeping) were unfailingly polite.
Review 123:Nothing, great stay in a great town
Review 124:Staff very friendly, efficient and always prepared to make arrangementsthat fitted or schedule E.G. final day we left before official breakfastand staff organised pastries, lovely bowl of fruit plus coffee for us.Location is excellent for Soller town centre. Amazing views from roofsun/pool terrace. Soller a great town in itself and some greatwalking in the area.
